Dean Saunders was today being touted as a serious contender for the Notts County job.
The Magpies have drawn up a shortlist of up to four managers for the hot seat at Meadow Lane.
And the 49-year-old former Wolves boss is on it alongside Danny Wilson.
County could appoint a new permanent manager before they face Coventry City on Saturday.
Saunders built the Doncaster team that won League One last season, although he left the Keepmoat Stadium to take charge at Wolves in January.
He was sacked after just 20 games in charge.
