Agreement has been reached for 31-year-old Ricketts to leave the Reebok Stadium on a six-figure fee, paving the way for the Wales international to become Jackett's first capture.

Former Telford United defender Ricketts is now set to undergo a medical at Wolves and talks on personal terms.

He has opted for the chance to link up with Jackett again rather than choose the chance to stay in the Championship.

The way for Ricketts to come in was smoothed by Bolton's signing of Blackpool right-back Alex Baptiste, who was a January target of former Wolves boss Dean Saunders.

Wolves were not saying anything publicly this afternoon but sources in the North West confirmed Ricketts was on his way.

The impending arrival of Ricketts will help ease the blow of missing out on £1million midfielder Luke Murphy, who chose Leeds ahead of Wolves and Blackburn yesterday after leaving Crewe.

De Vries, 31, has been given permission to speak to Forest after talks with an undisclosed Dutch club yesterday.

Forest have been without a senior goalkeeper following the departure of Lee Camp in January, with highly-rated 22-year-old Karl Darlow their only cover.

De Vries has been allowed to leave Molineux on a free transfer and held talks with Dutch top-flight club Roda last week but was unable to reach agreement.
