Dean Saunders has no regrets about taking Wolves job
Defiant manager Dean Saunders today insisted he had “no regrets” about taking on the job of resurrecting Wolves and is hell-bent on restoring the club to the top flight.
Boss Saunders goes into tonight’s visit of Watford with the club without a win in 12 games and locked in the Championship’s bottom three.
Saunders is determined to change around the fortunes of the third-from-bottom club as they strive to climb out of the relegation zone.
They are two points from safety behind in-form and fourth-from-bottom Barnsley, who have a game in hand.
The 48-year-old Welshman said: “This is a great club, I have been here for five minutes and I’m determined to make the whole thing work. What’s happening to us now is just a problem I didn’t expect.
“I was getting prepared for a promotion challenge next season but now I’ve got to address this situation because we’ve got to stay in this league first.
“Next season I can assure everyone, if we manage to stay up, we’ll have a team in July on the starting grid ready to compete for promotion.”
Saunders has received advice from former Albion and Villa boss and current Express & Star columnist Ron Atkinson.
“I love doing the job and I love the pressure – there are millions of good managers sat in their garden doing nothing, with no pressure,” he said.
“I’ve spoken to Graeme Souness, and Ron Atkinson rang me on Sunday a couple of hours before kick-off. He told me to keep going, you get ups and downs as a manager but you must keep believing in what you’re doing.”
Wolves’ squad has been left disjointed by four managers in a year.
And Saunders acknowledged he was drafted there to try to knit the various changes he and predecessors Stale Solbakken, Terry Connor and Mick McCarthy tried to impose on the squad.
“I’m a ‘late sub’ here but I’ve been brought in to try to put things right,” he said.
“The more I’m looking at it, it’s the accumulation of four managers’ sets of players.
"There’s a group of players who probably played for Mick McCarthy in the Championship and a group who played for him in the Premier League.
"Then there's a team who started to a play a different style in this league with six players who were brought in by the previous manager.
“And obviously that hasn’t been able to be blended all together.
“That’s my job, and if we can’t blend it together then we’ll have to rebuild it.”
Saunders admitted there was a chance of a one last loan. “I’ve been trying like mad to sign a certain type of player I think we need, but it’s very difficult to get them,” he said.

We need a cauldron of noise tonight fellow Wolverinos. Forget about pointless extremist protest and get right behind the team. It's only through our support and their hard graft (!) that we are going to get out of this now. In-fighting and pointless headline grabbing protests will get us no where.
Lets think about tomorrows headlines in The Sun...
Wolves bite...each other, Wolves howl at the Mooorgan (moon), Wolves in disarray...again!
Or would this be better:
Wolves bare their teeth...Super Wolves roared on to victory. Wolves show they aren't out of the hunt yet! Wolf pack roar team to vital win!
I know which I prefer. Sorry for the cheesey headlines! :-)
Come on you Wolves!!!

Honestly, whats with the negative waves man?.
We lost 11 on the trot in the 90's but still sang our then managers name "Alan Buckley" until we won again. It worked as well as we went on to finish in a respectable position!
BrummieRobWolves
A totally different situation altogether, I suggest. Wolves have a squad of internationals that are totally shot of confidence or possibly were not giving 100% for our previous manager, the scapegoat... Stale Solbakken? This coupled with a novice manager and an incompetent CEO - acting as director of football - that has majorly messed up with a number of deals with players like Cabaye, Demba Ba, Distin, Dann and Gardner and there is little wonder why a protest is taking place tonight! Let's hope we can turn the corner but it is looking likely that we will play Walsall and Shrewsbury next season?

Nope, the regrets are all from our side.
The loan signing we want, of course, is someone who will score goals. But who in their right mind will loan out such a player at this stage of the season?
Woodley Wolf
What we need is a 18-20 goal a season player who is playing in the top league of their country, and is available...........hang on a minute, hasn't Leigh Griffiths scored this many and is on our books! Let's recall him and give him a chance.
SEATTLE WOLF
Agree, and have already joined you in saying this a couple times earlier in the New Year. Why and what is the managwr's problem in doing so? He looks to be as pacey as a Ferrari and strong as a lion. Okay, sure, it's the SPL, with no disrespect to the league or my Dons up in Aberdeen, but come on, surely Lee can cut it down here in the Champuonship and do just as well. If the gaffer has to put one or two existing forward's noses out of joint, then so be it. We're talking about finding a way to help keep the club in the second tier of English Football, for goodness sakes!
And, finally, HE IS OUR PLAYER!

I met a man yesterday who was a scout for Cologne at the time that Solbakken was appointed there. He says that Solbakken was a complete idiot who wrecked the club. Within a very short time most of the players didnt understand what he was trying to achieve and the fitness levels fell alarmingly. Sounds rather familiar dosen't it????
I realise that Morgan is getting advice from people inside the game, I feel that with just a little digging he would have heard this type of comment and maybe saved Wolves from the Solbakken experience. If I were Morgan I would look at the people giving BAD advice and give them a wide berth in future and if they are employed at WOLVES SACK EM!!!!

“I’ve been trying like mad to sign a certain type of player I think we need"
Oh Dear....Think the answer is in the singular rather than prural use of word player. If you think we require only 1 player Mr Saunders then I should get on the blower and see if your old job is still going at Doncaster!
Uberwolf
In this context, this particular quote: " .......a certain type of player" can mean he's trying for more than one, i.e. the plural sense, as well.
For instance, you wouldn't say "......... a certain type of players", would you?
It's the editorial beforehand which says singular. But then, how many times do newspapers twist the words that people say.............: (
Sorry for being pedantic :)

big word that deano.... No regrets, I should think most clubs would look better than Doncaster on your CV and lets face it it's he will have a nice pay off should the inevitable happen
On another topic, only one more loan deal sanctioned. The club must be hemorrhaging money, what sort of budget will be available in in division 1. Guess the white elephant stand has sucked all the funds up it's trunk.

I have seen the highlights and listened to all Deans games. The defense has improved, and the main reason we are where we are is because of extreme bad luck, poor finishing and bad refs decisions. This will change, and when it does, confidence will come back for the likes of Doyler and Seb. Ive been there, you snatch at the ball, you cant wait to strike it, and you dont get that perfect strike.
Missed chances has put us where we are.

agree.. we DON`T need a huge influx of players..we need the current squad to get some confidence back..then some prudent pruning.. DS is right, as is Big Ron.. the message should be "Keep Going..keep making the runs" .. you ll see SEB or Doyler scoring with their knee or backside sometime soon, and Doherty or Robinson will score from a fluke cross.. we re due for an own goal as well.. remember Andy Cole? Likewise when Torres goes back to Spain he`ll score shedloads..top player..no confidence..and he s prob missing the sun..

The Flying Winger
Interesting interview from Stale on Sky, and underlines again the turmoil the club has been in for the last couple of years.
It is plain that there has not been a clear vision from the top, and they have allowed the players to undermine the decision of bringing Stale in, he quotes between 10-20% of the players were not with him.
Saunders has at least looked as though he is prepared to change that mentality, so we shall see.
He has however failed to bring in constructive loan signings in the Striker and Midfielder area when it is obvious to all and sundry it is needed.
Let's hope that his training and motivation ideas do start to work and bear fruits starting tonight.
Moxey says he is working tirelessly to bring in loan signings, well it's not quick enough as usual, let's hope we don't rue the indecision.
We need a Lone ranger riding to the rescue more than ever now
Stafford Wolf
I have just listened to the Stale interview. What a great interview and fab guy. He was too intellectual for some of the players and I am afraid, some of the fans! Certainly for those two bozos running our club! We should have kept Stale and I think the players are now begining ro realise this as well. I would say that 80% of the fans were behind him! We are reaping what we have sown. Div 1 next year and please Wolves fans and board get a proper manager in like Stale and be patient.
The Flying Winger
He does come over well and quite sincere, just shows what happens when players are given the upper hand.
We will never know how it would have worked out of course.
Bakk to the future
Absolutely. Bring him back, get some football played and win a couple of games. What am I saying? Hoof it and chase it give it 110% show some passion blah blah get behind the team... NO. Its about tactics and skill. Listening to Deano is like listening to all those (failed) England managers.
It's not heart and passion, it's skill, ability and tactics.
Bet I'll be labelled a numpty for this.
Number Uno
Get the guy back now. Sack Deano and bring in Stale.
Noisy
If 80% of the fans were behind Stale they were certainly keeping it to themselves when we were losing at Luton. The job of a manager is to get the best out of the people who work for him. We would all like to have our 'own' people in, but often this is not the case. On this basis Stale failed and maybe if we had stuck with him things would have been better, certainly Saunders has been no more an improvement on Stale than TC was on MM. Either way time to move on.
Orlando Wolves
I thought that the most telling comments he made was when he said that Wolves don`t know which way to go.....and that "Steve wanted to change a little bit to what they had done before...I was very upset by that"
10-20 % of the players not with him - well he was in the process of changing the playing staff situation when they sacked him.
The impatience and ineptitude of the upper management and board at this club is the reason why we are in the position we are in now.
An intelligent and classy man who was shabbily treated by Wolves and, I for one wish he were still here.
Still, it is what it is, and we have to back Wolves to the hilt. Good luck for tonight.
UTW
mardygit.
We must not lose against the Udinese reserves, a win would be a terrific boost to us and quite possibly remain unbeaten for the remainder of the season. I am appealing to the fans not to protest before the game, a good idea worth trying would be to get behind the players and encourage them when they get to the ground. I hope the ground is packed out full of noisy Wolves fans i would like to see so many turn up that we have to open the temporary stand, i know it is on TV tape it for afters. Good luck tonight lads. COME ON WOLVES stick your teeth into'em.

We cannot comment on the article' striking options are plentiful'. Of course they are not.Who is going to put doubt in the minds of Watford's strikers, who is going to get behind them, and who, most importantly ,is going to win the ball in the air?It has been the problem all season. This lack of pace and a ball winner is the main reason we are where we are.Forget red herrings over centre backs and full backs,it is poor striking options that is the root of all our problems. If we still had Vokes at least we would have someone who can win the ball in the air,and of course we are badly missing Fletcher's goals. Steve Morgan you would have had a lot less sleepless nights if you had made sure they had found a replacement for Fletcher when they sold him. Goals win matches, pretty obviuos why strikers are so expensive.
RoynReanie
Its an interesting and poignant barometer as to how far we have fallen as a Club.
A trip down memory lane on these message boards, would see hundreds (probably into the thousands) of posts saying how surplus to requirements, both Vokes and especially Keogh were. (and rightly so in my opinion)
Now our hopes of signing a Striker, rest on finding a Club so sick of a mediocre Player, that they are prepared to loan him out in February.
Whoever comes in (if anyone), will be way below the standard of either Keogh and Vokes.
Still, at least thats no one at the Clubs fault.
Why?:-
Because they told it it wasnt at the Meeting the other night
The Flying Winger
If he is looking at Church from Reading, 1 goal in seven games for Huddersfiled means he should fit in well.
He would be better going to Church and praying.

I suppose the key line in this piece is "if we can’t blend it together then we’ll have to rebuild it.” In that event it will be a rebuild in League 1, so talk of a promotion winning team - to the Premier League, no less - on the starting blocks by July puts the current maelstrom at Wolves in perspective.
That said, with a quarter of the season to go, we still have a job on hand to keep our place in the Champo. So Good Luck to the boys tonight - a little bit of self belief guys, we want you to win.

Finding it difficult to get a certain type of player in! why is it that other clubs seam to bring in these players on loan or go out and buy players in jan window, its called backing of the board. Stale was never fully backed buy the board and look were he ended up, i said at the start of the season it looked as if the board didn't trust Stale and it seams the same with deano, so why bring these guys in? Your hanging them out to dry!

Not your fault Dean!
Sadly our Club is lacking a decent senior manger who understands the peculiarities of the top professional game.
It was one of those uncomfortable moments on Wednesday, when Mr Morgan, who I believe is trying to do the right things, exposed himself to way out of his depth. He clearly understands bricks, but not footballers.
To admit you are poor on strategy; can't make decent decisions and hopeless with people was big of him.
We desperately really need him to sign a "David Gill", rather than waste £70+million on non-performing players! Own the Club from a distance is my advice.
Solentwolves
With 12 games to go, anyone who does not put their gripes to one side and get behind Saunders, and whatever team he picks, is of no help to our club at this time. We need to stay in this division and rebuild from here, not League 1. Good luck (which we will undoubtedly need) tonight. UTW

Any club is" owned" by IT'S fans. The actual owner is merely a custodian. I was a Wolves fan long before Morgan Moxey et al had anything to do with it. With some luck i will still be a wolves fan when they are long gone. Morgan is a liverpool fan and Moxey an overpaid hired hand.

Just reading about Watford. With all due respect, a small Club, but their strategy sounds way ahead of our thinking!

Any half-decent Management Consultancy would be able to recomend the process you should be following. Just heard the Stale video a couple of times and compared it to Dean's post match interviews and even thought Jez and Morgan said don't hang this guy out to dry because they were comments straight after a match it's clear Stale knows more about the right way to develop a club than Dean.
It's clear Morgan thought it would take too long to get back to the Premier with Stale and thought Dean would be an instant lift to the club and players - how wrong could he have been ( again! )
I would also have sleepless nights if Dean Shambles was managing my football club.
Welshwolf
Saw SS on TV last night and he seemed like a sensible but rather cold and introverted kind of guy with a LONG-TERM plan that might well have paid off. But the guys at the top lost their bottle in favour of a more matey short-term fix that is backfiring badly. You can't argue that SS would have won fewer points than DS.
The Unhappy Wanderer
I'm not trying to defend Saunders, but I think it's highly likely that we would have taken less points under Solbakken. Did you not see the performances against Peterborough, Ipswich and Luton? Even the win at Blackpool was basically down to luck (although to be fair we were due a bad refereeing decision to go in our favour for once).
Kevin
Solbakken: 26 games - 31 points
Saunders: 8 games - 4 points
I know which one i'd rather have.
Bfc
I find that hard to believe. Statistically speaking, the only possible way Solbakken could have done any worse than Saunders has is if he had lost every game.
To be honest, I think Solbakken would have scraped together a few more points by now. I think things would have turned around, just look at how we played at he start or the season - before all the injuries.
AwayWolf
From reading the blog on the FP the other night I have the impression the club although not wanting to see it happen are making plans in case they go down. It also seems that whether that happens or not Saunders is the man the board want to steer the ship whether in the Championship or league one. As most of the fans know a whole sale clear out of Micks old players is required. Thanks guys you had a good run now go and find another club you don't have a right to stay at wolves. It is interesting that Solbakken players are the ones who have achieved the most, if Solbakken had tried to introduce a couple of the youth players early and clear the defence then he would probably still be here and long term I think would have been good for wolves.
Wolves Exile
No use blaming DS. His management record at Wrexham and Doncaster was no more than ordinary and some would say that is being generous. I do not think he expected to be offered this challenging job at Wolves. He was appointed and that decision is the responsibility of Mr Morgan and his team of advisors of whom I presume the main character is Jez Moxey. I believe that Dean Saunders is doing his job to the limit of his abilities. Unfortunately Dean's abilities appear to be very limited and the man should not have been given this responsibility in the first place. Another dreadful decision by the 2 Ms.

You only have to read the posts on here to see what's wrong with the club. We aren't giving the players and Dean a chance. How can they have confidence with all the negativity coming from the fans.
Deans only been in a short time but as already done a great job at patching up our defence (somthing Mick and Stale didn't so in 4 years) and now he's looking to other areas for strengthening.
He's going to get us out of this mess if we get behind him, and in the summer with the M's support build a team that will take us back up to the premier where we belong.
Now make sure you get your early birds paid for.

Read the comments and though I must agree with some of them, the buck has to stop at the players. I doubt if Sir Alex could get this lot to play football, they are overpaid and overrated and would struggle to play in division one. After tonight's game and this is going to be another hard game the manager must start looking at the younger players for the remaining games left this season and give them a chance to show him that they are worth keeping at the club. Most of the senior players here at the moment will be handing in transfer requests should the club go down, so he needs to know what he will have left on his books for next season. Should the club manage to stay up then most of the senior players will be shipped out to allow a rebuilding program to take place, so either way the senior players have got nothing to loose, stay up and your gone get relegated and your gone how can you motivate players in this situation. Good luck Mr Saunders for tonight I hope they do their best for you and the fans, but do not hold your breath. If any Wolves players read these comments what do you think before a game and after a game, you do not know how lucky you are to be privileged to wear the OLD GOLD and BLACK SHAME ON YOU ALL FOR BRINGING THIS GREAT CLUB DOWN.

I find it amazing that on the day the club plays one of the most important games of the season the posts on here ( presumably locals ? ) are still full of negativity and poison. Let's look at the record- three managers hounded out and now a fourth getting little but insults.
Nobody could blame Saunders or Morgan just walking away from this poisoned chalice and the hordes of rude "fans". Protest? Tonight of all nights? Yeah, really clever. And if the team get beaten tonight what will WSA and their rag-tag of followers have achieved? Tonight is an opportunity for the "supporters" either look very stupid or for them to shout the roof of the stands down and look positive. Mick McCarthy may have had a few faults but his use of the word Numpties was extremely polite.

Are you Morgan? Perhaps you are cleverer than i thought!
wolfshead
London Bloke - under Connor, Solbakken, and now Saunders "our boys have taken one hell of a beating" - at this point more times than any of us would like - just in case you're wondering what all the fuss is about.
Yeh we get knocked down, but we get up again, COYW.
Check out the half time score London bloke !!!! Doughnut !!
still unhappy
Just seen saunders on sky sports news saying we dont have a "losing mentality" wasnt he the one who said we did? (mind you, even he didnt look convinced!)

COME on we can lift the lid off tonight the problems can wait till may, i too am pig sick but i know we fans are the best in the land and when the mol is rocking not a ground in the country is better to be at , LETS SHOW THE WHOLE FOOTBALL WORLD HOW TO ROCK< then they can"t blame us if the worst happens.
bullys a liverpool fan, he told me when we played golf!!
Best in the land???? Do you ever read what goes on this and other pages......laughable mate!!
CARL WOLVES
the only thing i get tired off reading is the negativity on these forums!!! Ive been a season ticket holder for 25yrs and yes its terrible at minute but this negativity from the majority on here just gets everyone down and doesn't help anyone!! this negativity will end up taking us down as it translates onto the pitch!!
why not try and get behind them, you never know it might just work!!!
Filthy Wolf
He reminds me of a kid promoted to Manager in MacDonalds as someone thinks he sold enough chips. Totally out of his league and now down to 'hope'.
Ghost of Glenn Hoddle
Funny how many Wolves fans get round to liking the manager that's just been fired. One day, Mr. Saunders, you may enjoy such popularity
Orlando Wolves
Like TC you mean ?

In a nutshell Ghost of glen hoddle.
Wolves as a team have been on the decline for 2 years or more and though Saunders has only been here 5 minutes, seemingly its all his fault!
Anyanka
Yes Mr Saunders, maybe you don't, but the negative of your statement is undoubtedly true; Dean (no), do you not realise how Dumb-ass you sound in interviews? Boy you sound gormless; A job at the BBC or Public Sector beckons for you shiip-shugger;
Palmer & Parkin 4 England
Of course, whilst mathmatically possible to stay up, if it's a defeat tonight (however DS sells it to us afterwards) that will surely be it.
My daughter's boyfriend is coming to the game tonight (life long armchair Liverpool fan - ho hum), to see how Watford play !!! Says it all really doesn't it.
Golden Wonder
Don't know why fans are calling for Staale to be reinstated.
There's more chance of us winning the Championship than that happening.
Just one more point regarding the Fans Parliament when someone suggested bringing back the Liquidator.
Now i was always led to believe that it was stopped on Police advice and that may still be the case but hearing JM talking it was more to do with our young fans hearing foul language, something a family club doesn't wan't to promote.
Now i'm all for making it an enjoyable experience for our next generation of fans but the kids will hear abuse throughout the game anyway. You just can't avoid it.
A responsible parent wouldn't let their kid curse and swear with them sitting next to them anyway. I know what my old man would have done to me if i tried that with him.
SM said that the rebuilding work was in part to make the stands closer to the pitch thus creating a more intimidating atmosphere for the opposition.
Well the fans would certainly be more up for it if the Liquidator came booming out of the loudspeakers as the team walked out onto the pitch.
Couldn't promise that the results will get any better though.
Mike Westwood
Lets get one think straight about McCarthy, Connor,Solbakken, the players, Moxey Morgan. Jesus Christ woudn't get us out of the mess that they have created between them. Three years of ineptitude

What has happend to our club?????

THE WHINGERS ARE STILL AT IT DEANO AND THEY CALL THEMSELVES WOLVES FANS.
OK WE ALL KNOW WOLVES HAVE A BATTLE ON THEIR HANDS BUT THE WHINGERS ARE LOOKING AT THINGS IN THE WORST POSSIBLE WAY TOO SOON..
WHAT WOLVES REQUIRE NOW IS THE BIGGEST SUPPORT THEY CAN GET IN THIS AND EVERY OTHER MATCH.
IF THEY DONT THE WHINGERS, THE WORST IN THE COUNTRY, WILL HAVE HAD THEIR WAY FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN WHATEVER THEY HAVE BETWEEN THEIR EARS, ISN'T A FOOTBALL BRAIN.
DEMONSTRATIONS ARE OK AT THE RIGHT TIME AND THATS NOT TONITE.I WILL ,LISTEN BY RADIO FROM HOPEFULLY 6000 MILES AWAY AND FINGERS CROSSED THREE POINTS ARE POCKETED BY 10PM, 5AM MY TIME.
DEAN SAUNDERS WAS A DAMN GOOD PLAYER AT THE HEIGHT OF HIS PLAYING DAYS.AND HE DESERVES A LITTLE MOLRE CREDIBILITY THAN WHAT THE WHINGERS ARE GIVING HIM.
YOU KNOW, THE SPECIAL ONE WOULD NOT HAVE ACHIEVED A BETTER POINTS HAUL THAN SAUNDERS.
.WOLVES ARE IN TROUBLE BECAUSE FOLLOWING MCCARTHYT'S DISMISSAL, THOSE IN CHARGE, DIDNT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT WHAT WAS REQUIRED AND THE THREE MANAGER'S WHO FOLLOWED HAD TO WORK WITH THE DREGS THEY INHERITED AND DIDNT WANT.
WOLVES FOREVER.
Happy Clappy Crappy
More preaching from a armchair fan, you must see things so much more clearly from 6000 miles away, no doubt it is much more informative to see a result on teletex than actually watch this crap week in week out. Perhaps that is why you feel it neccessary to slag off people who actually spend money at the club.
Your caps lock is faulty, Mike. And Saunders may have been a reasonably successful player, but he has no track record (other than failure) as a manager, and it shows. Have been a wolves fan all my life, D1 to D4 and back time and again. The team will endure, the current buffoons are only temporary occupants. Sort it, don't plaster over the cracks.
Best place for u is 6000 miles away, stay there !!!
Albrightondek
Of all the remaining games, I consider this to be the hardest one before the season ends.
Zola has transformed the team this season, mainly (or at least partly) because of Watfords rather creative manipulation of the loan rules. Can't blame them; if a loophole exists, why not exploit it.
I would like to think that Saunders knows by now who his best defenders are, and that he sticks with them until the end of the season - barring injuries ands suspensions. If that means Batth dropping back to the bench, then so be it. His time will come next season for sure.
As for up front where our main problem lies, it seems to me, to be Siggurdarson plus either Doyle or Ebanks-Blake. Jake Cassidy has not shown enough so far to justify his place in the starting line-up.
A difficult game lies ahead, and I'll be there to lend my support to the team. There'll be no protesting from me, whatever the result.
Ye Olde South Bank
I'm on the fence and undecided about Dean Saunders at the moment. To be fair to the guy, there's just too much going on above (and below) his head at the moment to see through all that muddy, Molineux water.
However, when our boss "assures" us -if we stay up, of course- that we'll have a team chasing promotion next season .....well, I'd love to know upon what concrete basis he can make that guarantee?
I'm afraid one can only assume that Dean is a closet clairvoyant, in which case he surely should have forseen the club's imminent nosedive before putting pen to paper. As it is, our near-terminal condition is apparently a "problem" that he "didn't expect".
I think that very selective crystal ball of yours could do with some polishing, Mr. Saunders....
Noisy
I'm with you, but the fact that it's only 5 games since he was talking about a push for promotion this season says that maybe he is not related to Mystic Meg (or maybe that he is)
Tunbridge Wolf
Just the fans left to regret it then, eh Dean? Bring back Stale or get Nigel Adkins in before it's too late.
Hermanus-wolves
Bring back Solbakken. He knew what he was doing which would appear more than Saunders.
I've read the comments regarding Morgan and he said if the fans want him to go then he will. Will Moxey say the same- please.
Mr Morgan if your building business was in turmoil would you employ a manager who has very little experience has only worked for small firms (one) and they loss business. Would you hire him? No you wouldn't you would be looking for a manager with a pedigree background, you would not be risking your company.
So why are you prepared to risk Wolves?
Please answer the above question.
I'm not bothered on how much you spent on players. If it was 73 million then you were robbed. Look at what you have and look where we are. Is that 73 millions worth? The most we have paid for player is 6 million and if we spent that on each player we should have 12 good players. We do however spend on average 3 million per player which gives us 24. So 24 players plus those already in house plus youngsters coming up which cost very little. And where are we?

Wolves are long overdue for a win, so lets hope tonight is the night. GOOD LUCK DS and ALL THE SQUAD TONIGHT: UTW:

On what basis are people calling for Stale Bacon to come back, did anyone watch the performances under him, which game this season gives you cause for optimism
as what I have seen we have been useless all season.

It is amazing what a difference 24 hours make, last night the website was awash with bulliant happy clappers, all praising Morgan to the hilt. A day later and they seem to have gone to ground again, seems that it is not just the "moaners" who are fickle.
PeteNuts
Apparently we're going for Simon Church of Reading on loan.
His career record: 27 goals in 153 appearances.
We clearly have, as a club, a MAHOOSIVE thing for strikers who score a goal every five and a half games.
Old Gold Portion of Chips
Seems to me that the primary reason to play 3 at the back is to accomodate Johnson and not for tactical purposes . I hope I'm wrong . Oh yes , and please , no headless chickens in the starting line up tonight ( Hunt and Edwards spring to mind ).
Stay UP THE WOLVES !!!

I like saunders but he made the mistake of not getting rid of the jokers and i mean jokers in the squad and should have said to morgan changes need to be made and players need to be sold and players need to arrive......but that didnt happen did it and look at the position we are in and he still playing the same jokers.
Lets hope he signs a striker simon church or someone who can score goals. Good Luck for tonight dean saunders and hope these jokers dont let you down again.
Jokers below.
Morgan......bob the builder.
Moxey........ West brom reject
Players....... I will leave that to you
Dean saunders..... Should have stayed at doncaster.... Very unlucky to take the managers job and field these jokers with no respect for manager club and most of all the FANS.

Getting SS back, are you mad!! Does no one rember the humiliation at Luton, the home games against Peterborough and Ipswich. Come on although SS came accross as a decent and likable man, he really did not have a scobby and had lost the dressing room. You can play lovley tippy tappy football in the premier, but in the championship you have to blast your way out!! As for tonight, lets send the Udinese 2nd team back to Watford with a flea in their ear, come on you Wolvessssssssssssssss!!!
Well Stanley that's another fine mess you've got me into.
There must be a blueprint for all that's going on. I'm growing to like rugby more and more.

Dean, I wish u success mate, really do. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but this hire em sack em mentality is beyond me. U were a quality player and know the game inside out. Fellow wolves fans, it's time for a change, not the manager but the fans. This club will spiral until we all unite and work together. By the way I'm no happy clapper before anyone says it. I'm really unhappy about where we are. I wasn't happy with our performances in Prem mostly either but this year has been awful. We need stability an leave the manager to make changes and make the team his own. Good luck tonight to the team.

If Deano keeps us up,at the end of the season please do not give the deadwood another chance.Enough is enough.Time for a clear out and to move on and build a new team.I would only hope that higher management will back you up though i have my doubts.
Dick the Knocker
Trite, facile.thick, football talk,Deano. You talk the talk but aren't walking the walk! How ironic that we again depend upon the FAILURES who got us relegated last season, to keep usup this season> I have never witnessed such a declined useless group of WW players>.NOTHING will improve until we bomb out these duds.
Just wolves
All this regarding the managers is none sense , yes i think deano aint the man for the job but im sorry to say this but alot of our players just aint good enough any more and i think that some of our players are only league 1 or 2 quality . Can any one please tell me why karl henry plays week in week out , even chosen as captain as i think he is a major problem in this team. strikers will only score and get chances to score with good assistance and delivery from our midfield which he does not and can not perform . For me he is the worst player ever to be called a pro and it is a disgrace that he thinks hes a pro. A year or two ago whilst in the premier league i backed henry like the time he caused joey barton no end of problems but im sorry to say this karl but u you aint good enough and should hang your boots up as a wolves player and start lookin to join lower league teams. Its not just you karl, berra, ward , edwards , foley etc you all need to move on

Prediction - we are going to lose tonight, have you heard about the Watford team. Good Manager, team is full of Italians & Spanish loanees. Just gets better and better. Dean Saunders is a clueless manager at this level & the team are full of no heart, ambition or ability. Happy days
Byron
Some of these 'so called' supporters are so caustic with their comments. The Wolves family want support not not negativity. So come on your Wanderers give the team the biggest roar ever tonight. Some of you need lessons in spelling as well, but that's for tomorrow afternoon when you've nothing to do go down to W H Smiths dictionaries are quite cheap.

Just watched Stales interview on Sky and before you keep on berating the bloke you should check out the interview. He was passionate about what he wanted but it seems 2 things were stopping him turning us into a decent team. One seems to be Morgan interfering in his targets ie transfers, and he says about 80% of the players were with him. Its no wonder we are where we are he had a vision and on watching the interview i feel sorry for the bloke he was doing the job with one hand tied behind his back. Morgan,Moxey, and some of the players should hold their heads in shame, and i admit i was wrong as i was not a great fan of Stales but i wish he was here now at least we won some matches i can't see where the next win is coming from, and yes i support the Wolves Supporters Alliance good luck to them Morgan walk now yes we want you out.
Supporter since 1970.but won't renew until he goes.

On the basis of recent results - we are going to get trounced by Zola's men tonight - mark my words!

Dear Mr, Morgan, Mr Moxey and all the playing/ coaching staff,
You would get 100% universal support from all Wolves fans including me - and all football fans everywhere - if you were to pledge 50% of your salary between now and the end of the season to a nominated Wolverhampton charity.
One reason people are so incensed is the polarising wealth gap that is prevalent here and abroad both within football and wider society (line up your comparisons with banking here if you like....?). These feelings are amplified when there is a sense that said people continue to receive stratospheric salaries when they appear to be undeserved. This is a great solution because it is tangible evidence to demonstrate to the Wolves faithful that you really do care whilst also giving generously to a deserving local community charity.
Show us you care - put 50% of your salaries aside (that's your gross salary - not built-in share options, Mr Moxey et al). So what's it to be? Are you really prepared to take some of this austerity pain, too..? Are we all in this together or is it just lip service..?
If you want unconditional support it's up to you...

I am five years old, and my daddy is writing this for me (Mikeybear77).
I would like to know why have there been so many managers?
Why sack Mick McCarthy?
Why appoint Terry Connor?
Why appoint Stale Solbakken?
Why appoint Dean Saunders?
Where has all the money gone?
There are a lot of names.
It's not the manager(s) that are bad, its the players who are rubbish!
I hope Wolfy survive this season but lots of those names need to be sold and we need new players.
We should get new players.

I think we new it would take Deano 7 or 8 games to find his best team , even though we all know who the culprits are on the pitch that are failing us. The gaffer seems to be following the role your sleves up and put in a shift plan , which does sounds all to familiar to me - The common denominator in all of this is the only player that has not once been dropped under the last four managers
I must be missing something as Wolves teams take to the pitch like blind folded boxers trying to land a sucker punch on ever elusive opponents - Please could we deploy some of the few players left at Wolves that coud beat a player or play a killer through ball and show us what we want to see.
Its not to late we have the players to get us out of this - Please Deano sort it out lad
Come on you Wolves
