Leicester 2 Wolves 1 - match report

Wolves produced a much-improved performance to give hope to their long-suffering fans only to crash to another defeat at high-flying Leicester.

Wolves produced a much-improved performance to give hope to their long-suffering fans only to crash to another defeat at high-flying Leicester.

Awful defending led to quick breakaway goals from Anthony Knockaert (24) and David Nugent (73) either side of Bakary Sako’s stunning equaliser six minutes after the break.

Chief executive Jez Moxey was absent from the King Power Stadium to pursue deals, but the transfer window closed without any new signings at Molineux.

A spirited defeat nonetheless extended Wolves’ run to eight games without a win and left new boss Dean Saunders searching for his first victory four matches into his reign.

But he will have been encouraged by what was the best display since he took over from Stale Solbakken.

Saunders made four changes to the side beaten 2-1 by Blackpool on Saturday.

Stephan Ward was recalled, Danny Batth made his first Championship start and Tongo Doumbia and Bjorn Sigurdarson made their first starts under Saunders.

Roger Johnson began his three-match ban, Ronald Zubar has moved on since the Blackpool game and Slawomir Peszko and Kevin Doyle dropped to the bench.

Leicester made the better start and largely controlled the game until they took the lead just after the midpoint of the first half.

It seemed Anthony Knockaert had a shoot-on-sight policy in the opening minutes as he looked to test Wolves at every opportunity.

First the winger took advantage of poor defending by Christophe Berra to poke wide after waltzing through.

Then David Nugent and Knowckhaert both blazed over from 30 yards before the latter sent a skidding drive just wide.

Wolves’ only reply was a wayward cross shot from Bakary Sako that flew wide before Leicester returned to the attack and Chris Wood was inches away with a dipping volley that flew just over.

Then came the opener, and it was difficult to feel sympathy for Wolves after the sloppy way they conceded it.

Quick thinking from Kasper Schmeichel saw the keeper throw the ball out to Knockhaert into the space where Stephen Ward should have been but the Ireland international was still upfield from a Wolves attack and he signalled for Doumbia to cover him but his team-mate seemed to ignore him and the Leicester midfielder made crucial strides before Ward finally tracked back to delay him.

But Knockhaert was still able to cut inside before checking back inside Ward and firing an angled shot into far corner via both hands of Carl Ikeme.

Wolves however picked themselves up after the goal and enjoyed a much improved spell.

They could have equalised within four minutes when Batth was presented with a free header at the far post from Sako’s corner only for his effort to flew just wide.

A sustained spell of possession from the visitors saw Sako have a shot blocked after Sylvan Ebanks-Blake had an effort blocked from Ward’s cross following a lovely pass inside by the French winger.

But Leicester twice missed the chance to have made it 2-0 before the break when Nugent mis-hit a volley from 16 yards from Knockhaert’s cross then Ben Marshall sliced well over after a backheel by Nugent from Paul Konchesky’s diagonal pass left him in the clear.

Leicester were soon made to pay for the wastefulness in front of goal when Sako equalised in spectacular style.

Doumbia headed on a bouncing ball on the left wing and Sako smashed an unstoppable shot with the outside of his unfavoured right foot that swerved away from Schmeichel and into the far bottom corner of the net from the edge of the area.

Within a minute, Leicester missed another chance when Wood screwed the ball wide from six yards out after he got ahead of Batth to Ritchie De Laet’s centre.

Wolves continued to battle gamely with some renewed urgency to their performance as they played a full part in an end-to-end game.

But they were undone by more poor defending for the winner.

Nugent picked up the ball inside his own half on the left and was allowed to run unchallenged before cutting inside onto his right foot, curling a shot beyond Ikeme and just inside the far post.

Nugent missed the chance to make it 3-1 when he connected poorly from close range from substitute Jamie Cardy’s cross.

But Wolves fought to the last and Ebanks-Blake beat Wes Morgan to sub David Davis’ cross only for his header to drop just wide.

Then the 11-goal top scorer went even closer when his shot on the turn seemed goalbound only for the ball to take a slight deflection off Morgan before scraping the outside of the post from Ward’s cross.

It was another game without a win but it was a spirited, improved performance and one which deserved the warm ovation from the 772 travelling fans at the end.

All the promises, all the money and we sign an 18 year old from Newport County. The Bhatti Brothers are reborn in Moxey and Morgan. Lord help us. We could have offloaded a load of rubbish and haven't.

Filthy Wolf

From the Wolve's site at 28 mins past midnight:

"Wolves can confirm that an offer was received for striker Kevin Doyle shortly before the closure of the transfer window on Thursday evening.

This bid was rejected, as were a number of others for key players during January.

The Club also made offers to bring players in during the transfer window but unfortunately these bids were not successful.

This is not the final chance to sign players this season, and Wolves will continue to assess all options ahead of the emergency loan window re-opening next week."

sheffield wolf

exactly, they are reincarnated, stripping the cash, no sense of what the club needs and morgan, go, take moxey with you, you are a disgrace and ever since you walked into the changing room, you've slowly screwed this club and after you gave conner the job, i think we all wondered if you have any idea what you are doing, built a nice stand though, well done, well done!

Gornalwolf

WHAT..... comparing the Moxey + Morgan regime to the Bhatti's is deeply unfair.. and more than a little melodramatic, GROW up and look around at what we have! Then look at where we could be without proper management.

Gornalwolf your loyalty is to be admired. However, like most things it takes time for a demise to happen. The teams you mention went on a gradual slide in exactly the same way Wolves are going.

I feel, as many many LONGSTANDING fans do (65 years in my case) that we will be the team with the best stadium (but not too sure) about the finances, in Division 1. Or like Luton in the Blue Square Premier.

Tasmanian wolf

Well said. Let's get the year dealt with and move on.

Westcott

Let's get it straight, there is no Russian, Arab billionaire.

The club is in the black and heading down.

No top player wants to come here.

The CEO is a knob and quite frankly why do we need to pay money for a non producing position, should not that be the manager?

If the academy is so good, put them on.

Transfer window is not going to make a difference unless we can get a top striker!

Lets form a fan consortium and buy the club off this scouser.

Wednesbury wolves

Said this last wk, I'm willing to put £10000 on joining the consortium!!!!

Tactics

New manager, same old players, no change there then. The activity in the transfer window has been devastating. Can’t wait for all these new players we were promised.

I think QPR will get out of the relegation zone, they really want to stay in the Premiership, Wolves did not. They are buying players left right and centre, unlike Wolves who went out in a whimper.

Last night was disgusting. They allowed Nugent to run from the halfway line, into the penalty area unchallenged. If he hadn’t have placed the ball in the net from 18 yards, they would have let him walk it in, disgusting.

We need to take a note out of Jose Mourinho’s book, defend as a team, attack as a team. All you need is super fit players running from box to box. If you play like that formations have little meaning. All defend, all attack, move forward and back as a group.

On a positive note, Saco’s goal was the best strike of a ball I have seen in a long while. Reminded me of Bobby Charlton in his heyday. A bullet which never rose above 2 feet off the ground. Pity the rest of his play was crap.

Do-ohhh

Ahh... those transfer windows just keep getting away from us, without any deals being done... poor old Jez, he works so hard at bringing in better quality, but is unfortunately only able to unload our better players.

pickwolf

moxey pursing deals i bet he was more like hiding somwhere, i knew we would not sign anybody we are going down due to bad management end of .

chris h

Number of positives tonight.Passed the ball well, especially O'Hara second half. But same story for most of the season, punished on the break and lack of a cutting edge up front. This should have been remedied in the Jan transfer window. The fans have been let down once again by the owner and chief executive.Neverthless plenty of positives in the performance.

We Only Need One Half!

Well speaking as a Baggie that watched the game, I didn't think you played that bad, best I ve seen you under Saunders, and Sako's goal was the best of the three.

Summat to cling too.

Not keen on this manager

WONOH. Admiral comments but by this time tomorrow we will most likely be in the bottom 4.

Finally. We have been clinging (clutching at) to straws too long now and straws eventually go soggy and fall apart. Bit like Wolves really!

How we wish we had a Peach and an Ashworth instead of a Morgan and Moxey.

khs

peach and ashworth! really? and how exactly how have wba demonstrated this superiority over wwfc?

apart from the 1-5?

any trophies? well?

no? i thought not.

The Flying Winger

Whilst Ward, Henry, and Berra continue to play for us things will only get worse.

Henry nearly broke a players leg again tonight and did nothing in they first half.

Berra could not pass the ball or head the ball to a Wolves player.

Ward has no idea how to play LB, time and again exposed by constant attacks on the R Wing, at fault for the goal again.

Batth was the one bright spot, makes you wonder why he has not been player before

What O Hara was doing to night I have no idea

We turned down a bid for Ward What?

Saunders said he switched his phone off, suggest he puts it back on.

What were the stubs about?

The club have again let the supporters down to day, no surprise there, we have been shown exactly what the club think of us.

My word of the day Relegation

My number of the day 0/10

Moxey & Morgan what a farce, 4 managers same result!!!!!!

Bertie

You blame Ward for the first goal, but, completely miss the fact that he had just broken down the line to put a very good cross in. When shmicheal launched that 60 yard pass WHO was picking Knockeart up ? Nobody, step forward Doumbia and / or O'Hara. Ward had to sprint the length of the pitch and did well to even get there.

O'Hara had a poor first half, but, he and Henry controlled the game second half. Why did you not see that?

Stubs (sic) ? Sigudarsen was the most ineffective player on the pitch and had to come off. Peszko did quite well. Davies did very well and nearly assisted SEB to the equalising goal. Edwards was a gamble. We've seen him break through to score goals. Chasing the game, this was a reasonable gamble. It didn't come off.

I think you need to be a little fairer in your assessments.

It was a much improved performance, but, one thing we almost agree on what the hell is Morgan playing at (not Moxey) ? He's the organ grinder and he's left us with a relegation battle and no cavalry to come over the hill.

Tracemeister

Wise words Bertie - it sounds like you actually watched the whole match. We'll play worse than that and win this season. I saw more to be hopeful about in defeat than some performances earlier this season when we were picking up points . The 2nd half in particular was a revelation when we usually capitulate late on. It didn't look like top vs bottom and Leicester were mighty relieved to hear that final whistle.

The Flying Winger

You are correct in your comment about Ward getting back, but having done that he back peddled and made no challenge, which he does every game and that is why we keep getting picked off down the RW.

Yes Henry had a better game 2nd half but was lucky to be on the pitch, he also had the ball in their or close to the penalty area, then within a few secs we were 2 down.

Sig was very poor and is not showing any promise.

But I stick by my comments for the future these 3 Players need moving on.

Tipton Wolves

Depressing time to be a wolves fan, lost against Leicester, bought no reinforcement didn't get rid of much and bought a player for the future from the blue square premier not forgetting we 4 points of the relagation places.

initowinit

I thought for once we played well defence a bit dodgy but we all know that only down side was SEB playing on his own Wes Morgan had him in his pocket all night needed Doyle up with him other than that well played wolves at least you gave a better account than of late

Mike T

Watched on tele and thought we deserved a point.

Thought Batth had a good game but oh how we need a tall, strong centre forward. Sigurdarson looks out of his depth at this level and Henry, whilst good in defence, looks very poor going forward. In fact he was responsible for the Leicester winner as having taken the ball 50 yards forward he gave it away. Deserved to be taken off. In fact he was lucky not to be sent off.

With such a good Leicester right winger, Ward should never have got caught up field for their first goal.

Great goal from Sako but he is a liability when defending. Lucky not to give away a penalty.

Come Saturday we could be two points off relegation but if we can play like tonight I think we will get enough points in the next 16 games. Got to sort out the centre forward situation though.

Old Golds Worth More

Very accurate review, only thing missing was the fact that like ward for their first goal, Foley was at fault for their second goal, he was so far forward that he left oceans of space behind him which left Batth exposed to a 2 on 1 situation.

So after the window closed, we did exactly the same as last year, bought one for the future and that was it, Moxey thinks we have saved money, when the truth of the matter is, if we get relegated it will in fact cost us money!

Bush Babbie

True. And now DS says if we carry on playing like that we can beat any team!?! ......except Leicester...and anyone else above us. Not good enough.

BrummieRobWolves

I was 1 of the 772 there last night and answer to some of your viewpoints, I would say this:-

i)The old guard were the worst players for Wolves - Foley, Berra, Ward and Henry.

ii) Ward was at fault for the first and Henry the second. He advanced to near the edge of their box and was frightened to shoot and then we lost possession and they broke away.

iii) Sigurdarson had an experienced full back like Konchesky in trouble twice and caused scrambles in the box. He will be a decent player but he is not a winger? When Boukari is fit, we could play him and Peszko wide and Sako through the middle!

iv) Batth had a good debut, so why do we not play Doherty, Reckford, Davis ahead of Foley, Ward and Henry. They could not do any worse!

Chillo wolf

Have to disagree with Henry being one of the worst players. He was excellent second half.

Stonewolf

Henry is far too negative and agree that he should have had a red card first half. How positive were we after Henry got subbed. Put Davis in and get these trouble makers out of the club - they are a cancer.

John EltonBurger

WHAT A DISGRACE NO NEW SIGNINGS

MOXEY OUT

SACK THE BOARD

Doyler!

Moxey absent to persue deals!!!!!!!!!!!!! You having a laugh Tim or what. It is exactly what was expected. That man should be no where near dealing with transfers. It is the very reason why we are now in a relegation battle. The wgae policy and attitude of the owner and Moxey is abundantly clear...... it is the demise of the club. Much improved perfomance......!

What?!!! It was like a game of ping pong the defnce passing it amongst themselves then boot it up to SEB who was outplayed by Wes Morgan, their passing was dreadful for most part, yes there were PATCHES of half decent football

from these players who are on far too much money for what they turn out.

Their first goal was down to very sloppy defending by.....you guessed it WARD. He backed off about twenty five yards then gave up. Any further back and he would have been in someones living room in the street opposite the ground!

Defence was sloppy. We have a corner and who gave a foul away.... it's that man again BERRA, shirt puller, who gives fouls away. Saunders said after the match, ( he looked pissed off. It's finally dawned on him that he is up against an owner and CEO who spin lies and bull) that they would take out the positives. Well that will take up five minutes.

Why have we not signed anyone eh? The E&S deadline site was dedicated to WBA mostly. I think Tim must have been twiddling his thumbs waiting for news.

Doesn't matter a jot who and how they played, it is inconsistent, it was too flat footed, it was pass back on most occassions

and on the counter, well, ther was only SEB up on his own, there was no one to pass to, leiceter won it most of the time.

Well Morgan, Moxey hope your proud of your days work, Parrasites!

Saunders Foot

Moxey absent to persecute eels, just wait for the wriggling, slimey, no transfer excuses tonight. They only bought Lee Evans to try and cheer us up, and they even got the wrong bloke then ......where's my glasses....

mossman

AGREE 100% with your post. Clueless owner and CEO and our new manager has aged 10 years in 10 days. Could not put Doyle on because club wanted to loan him out if possible. Would have sold Ward if Forrest had come up with wages offer. How does that make him feel?

Balham wolf

Lets keep backing off attacking players and see which div we are in at the end of the season. Ward needs to go please, oh it's to late the window has shut. Bath had a decent game but was at fault for the goal, hopefully he learn from his mistake.

First 30 mins our defending was very poor, but after that we played well and deserved a point.

We need to keep believing and hopefully we can stay up and build a new team. Never thought I would be writing this kind of stuff after coming down from the prem.

Have to keep believing we can't go down. Seb not the player he was and I get the sense the players around he have lost confidence in him. Hope that is not the case as Doyle sadly is not going to score the goals to keep us up.

Kenny Hibbitts Left Foot

Well well no signings!!!!! what a surprise!! Morgan get out now, you are raping this club and the city.

Dean Saunders look and body language after the game makes me think he knows he has been shafted by Morgan and Moxey. What are we coming to?

carlos fandango

That was better! Danny Bath looked good. If Siggy learns to control the ball a bit better his ability to get past defenders will bring dividends. Foley, Ward, Berra - Get Rid. Midfield looked pretty good most of the game. We'll win a good few Games based on that performance so long as Moxey gets us a striker who can finnish along side SEB. Defensively we've got 2 good uns and 3 duds. Time to give another youngun a go based on Dannys debut.

Please Please Deano keep Sako and Doumbia out of our own penalty area!!! They'd be better off going for a pie or just hanging around the center spot whilst we're defending in the box. They're both a penalty waiting to happen.

UTW

Matt Wolf

Moxey absent pursuing deals????? A productive night then?????

whitmore wolf

only saw the second half, much improved from what i've seen at home this season. but with all the goings and prospective goings, and just one incoming it seemed more like wolves 30 years ago. i thought we had got rid of the bhatti's!

Whatajoke

Ward again terrible defending why did we not accept 300k, and SEB misses two sitters and we turned down a million for this guy. As much as we improved we have no one pulling the strings in midfield, Henry should have been sent off (donkey), and no killer striker. Berra and Ward are a joke, well done Batth for looking solid.

ellwolves

Seems a little rose tinted that write up. I've resisted to call for heads thus far but let me make this point. An owner of any business supplies the money. They own the club, they will not leave unless by thier own accord. The CEO is put in place to make the big decisions. The hire n fire of the top people. Moxey has proved he can make a right mess of that job. He needs to go...he is the rot. Please Morgan, don't let this fool embarrass you any more - wise up. I want Deano to do well, he looks like he could have what it takes, but, will be held back by fat cat Moxey.

stuart

"Chief executive Jez Moxey was absent from the King Power Stadium to pursue deals, but the transfer window closed without any new signings at Molineux."

Says it all...

Dorset Wolf

Can someone please tell me what idiots think we do not need any defenders???? Not a bad display when we actually had the ball but shocking defenense as per usual. Who have we signed??? Oh yeah...... Nobody.

initowinit

need to learn how to spell mate it's defence

Putza Shiftin

It may have been a much improved performance but how many games have we won in the last couple of years? Even at this level we are struggling to stay up!

The squad is being trimmed and it is going to take a major overhaul of the squad and a massive cultural change if we are not to face sliding into oblivion!

Are you really at all bothered about this club Mr Morgan?

As for Moxey, please explain how you are earning your salary! You are the common denominator now that we have had several managers and you don't even seem to be able to negotiate a fee for players who cost a couple of million these days!

Enough is enough!

Selly park wolf

Much better 2nd half in terms of keeping the ball but still only created 2 chances in the last 5 minutes the whole game.

What has Morgan gone and done here!

Club in freefall and no one apart from a kid from Wales comes in.

To all the doogooders and happy clappers that kept on posting 'just wait and see who we buy' well there's your answer and even the legend Steve bull was sticking up for Morgan last week which shows that everyone associated with this club has been brainwashed by the idiots.

As a paying customer we should have some transparency with what's happened to our finances but no doubt moxey will get another bonus!

Well that's me done I will not step foot in molinuex again after 37 years of support spending thousands in the process until the two muppets have gone.

Absolutely gutted right now!

Mart

The big difference between Wolves and Leicester? The solid defence. Leicester have invested.

Ward is useless and was turned inside out all night. HOW HAVE WE NOT BOUGHT A PROPER LEFT BACK AGAIN!

Danny in the centre inexperienced. Berra ok sometimes, Foley a shadow of who he was.

Morgan and Moxey, you FOOLS! Where's the money gone?!

Shameful.

gaywolf

I am disgusted with what has happened to my club over the last two seasons. And why cant anybody that matters see that Stephen Ward is NOT A LEFT BACK. Some action by the fans must be made to try and get rid of parasite Moxey.

Cookyssweetleftfoot

Actually felt very disappointed we lost after that second half. SEB may have missed an easy header, but his clear disappointment at the unlucky effort that hit the post gave me some belief that he cares and this has been missing most of the season from most of the team.

Ward ran back well, but his defending was woeful for their first goal. Henry was unbelievably poor after SEB had worked hard to keep the ball for their second and his reckless tackle again in the first half deserved a red card. I honestly believe he was a more important player in the Premier League than the Championship as his limitations going forward are there for all to see.

I saw Doumbia at Peterborough and thought he was class. He played well tonight. We were the better team second half.

A quality loan signing at left back and swap Davis for Henry and I think we will be ok.

Very disappointed that we brought no-one in of note, but glad we didn't sign King.

Timmiswolf

I share these sentiments. Thank you for a constructive comment - such a thing is rare in these parts.

rushall wolves

So Moxey was pursuing deals eh! Deals or no deals? The club is becoming a laughing stock and will be lucky to stay in the Championship looking at the upcoming fixtures. Missed out on Warnock, DJ Campbell & Baptiste but managed to get Lee Evans from the Glee Club! Not much glee at Wolves these days! Will have to wait for the BOGOF offers i'm afraid. At least Lee Evans will sweat his shirt off!

Dissilusioned with the way this club has been managed but still think Deano needs all the support he can get from the Wolves fans. BOGOF Moxey & Morgan - you pair of muppets!

Wednesbury wolves

Positives!! Danny batth well done, sako quality strike, great signing stale, siggy, pezsco doumbia, ebanks unlucky, davis when he came on, ohara at a push, as for the rest i hope saunders has finaly realised you aint fit to wear the shirt, solbakken took 12 points off last 4 teams that saunders team has played, and he takes how many points? Yes 2!! If only stale was backed and given2-3 years to sort this mess out!!!!!! As for mr bull saying it all started going wrong when solbakken was appointed, your having a laugh bully, can you please leave wv1 along with your boss morgan moxey and the welsh wizard, cos without solbakkens signings we would be in bottom 3 fact, ah yes bull and froggy, we waited all day like u told us ( just wait and see) its come and gone, and only lee evans from newport signed, you have now proved to me that your just morgans puppet, SHAME ON YOU BULLY!!! Us fans could see it why couldnt you. As for turning down bids for doyle and ward, unbelievable!!!!! Please now make ohara captain, henry must now leave the building, get ohara on diet aswell please!!!! I just wonder whats going through odemwingies head as he drives back up m40!!!!!! Odemwingie wooooah odemwingie woooooah he drives to qpr, they keep him in the car!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesbury wolves

Sorry ikeme, forgot to add you, without your saves and sako and sebs goals we'd be bottom!!!!!!!! Should have kept solbakken!!!!!!!!! Were the signings there for him I doubt it, and was that the reason why he was sacked? Come to think of it now( after deadline day). Absolutely yes, he wanted 4 new players minimum, he knew he had to get rid of cliques, but for some reason, Morgan thought hold on a minute, these players were in premiership last season they should all be good enough!!!!!! And stale didn't know anything, so they brought in souness love child as a yes man and told him this is the team you work with, don't expect any new signings. Simples, I know I moan a lot on here, but there are serious problems going on down here, and us fans are a pain in the arse sometimes, but fellow fans, it's time now we did something about Morgan and moxey, they need to leave, I don't want to boycott games, and I've already stopped buying programmes, food beer, what else can we do??????? Thinking a protest is only way now!!!!!!!

Really Fedup Wolf

You forgot about the crap pies they serve up now.

Steve Daleys left peg... Not as good as mine though!!!!

You really do moan alot, your quite irrational but last night there were not only positives in the play, but also a great atmosphere with the support who seemed to be on a positive level despite some opinions on here. Personally I think it clicked with alot of fans (at least the ones who attended) that as you say we are in a bad situation that possibly has been created by the two M's but everyone knows that the manager and supporters, so the only way to encourage the team is to look beyond the deficiencies of the ownership but pull together so the team know we're behind them not necessarily the owners or ethos

The Real Bangkok Wolf

WOW SOMEONE IS HAVING A GO AT BULLY

I HOPE YOUR PLEASED MR MOX"L"EY

YOU FOOLED BULLY WITH YOUR PROMISES OF NEW SIGNINGS BUT AGAIN YOU LET US ALL DOWN.

SHAME ON YOU MT MOX"L"EY FOR BUTTING BULLY IN FRONT OF THE MEDIA.

BULLY SHOULD DO HIMSELF A FAVOUR AND STEP AWAY FROM THE CLUB AS LONG AS MOX"L"EY IS THEIR BUT IS HEART WONT LET HIM.

South Coast Wolves

100% agree. Too many bad decisions by Morgan/Moxey have caused this mess starting with getting rid of McCarthy when they did. I think Solbakken should deffo still be here. No disrespect to Saunders, but he isn't the right caliber for the job. As for Bully, well... you could almost see the strings above him!

simon

Have to be honest, i didnt watch the game, partly because I felt we would be well beaten tonight, but also because the total lack of transfer activity that has left me totally despondent.

I havent felt so down since the Hawkins days in the 80's when the team morale was rock bottom and we couldnt win a game.

I know Dean has only had a short time to assess the team, and make decisions, but from what i am seeing like hawkins he seems totally out of his depth.

He must seriously believe he can get this bunch of players who have consistently lost games over the last 3 years to suddenly start winning games without adding new faces and real competition in the squad to help.

We need at least 5 wins to avoid relegation and i cant see it especially at home games where confidence is at an all time low. i'm not sure i can stand to watch this anymore and with only 772 traveling fans, i might not be the only one

Keiran

Was at the game tonight; My first away game.

Anybody who comments anything negative on this thread with regards to the game tonight is an idiot.

The only complaint I could have is that Ward didn't put a foot in for their first goal, and Foley was absent for their second.

BBC Radio Leicester said that there was a handball in the run-up to their first goal, and one by Doumbia in the run up to ours.

Only Negatives from today has to be the lack of signings - but on the basis of the performance tonight we don't need any.

SEB looked good up front, was a bit confused as to why Doumbia was in the CAM position and O'hara in the CDM position.

Berra + Batth > Berra + Johnson, I can't wait to see Batth + Johnson!

Leicester didn't really trouble us from inside the box, they had the odd shot, but any chance they had we replicated it at the other end. Most of their shots came from outside the box, and it was two sublime finishes that sank us.

Haling wolf

It's a bit late to be out on a school night keiran have the morning off & try watching it again & take those gold tinted glasses off ...!

Wednesbury wolves

Kieran, I respect your views young man, but the fact is WE LOST!!!!!!!! Wait till you have been to hundreds of away games like myself, and you think we don't need any new signings, you should go to specsavers, deluded, thanks for your loyal support though on a Thursday night, hope you join me in 2 wks time at Barnsley, for relegation battle

Golden Nugget

" Only complaint ". Isn't it enough that it has been apparent for at least three years that Ward and Foley are not even championship quality and they are still playing and costing us points on a regular basis!!!!!!!!!!!

Haling wolf

Flattering to deceive ..!

Some decent play Ohara & Henry controlled the midfield for large periods of the second half

But once again shocking defending lets it all down

I personally feel sorry in a way for wardy who clearly isn't a fullback but does well going forward

Filling in for injured or out of form Elokobi & three seasons later he's still there making the same

Mistakes & with no first team strengthening in the transfer window I don't agree with bully that we're too good to go down ...!

3rdseason

played better the report says, Realy sounds like leicester should have won by more ??

Bad defending, where was the midfield ? tipical know where to be seen. on thier goals.

henry waste of space should of been sent off.

window shut and we get a 18 year old for the future!! great thinking by the club. does this mean that all the money spent on the accadamy we still got to buy for the future?

Morgan please go. youve led us up the garden path and fed us to the lions for too long. everything we here out of yours & moxey's mouth is a lie. and i have had enough.

SEASIDE WOLF

Same old same old. Couldn't hold a ball when received, passing to opposition, backing off (particularly Ward for the first goal) when opposition attacking. Bescot Stadium here we come.

The chickens are headless

Saunders has to get Ward out of the team, he would not make the bench in a pub side. There must be a better left back in the reserves, if not, they should not be on the books.

maltawolves

In my 50 years of following my beloved Wolves i have NEVER seen such a useless/clueless left back as Ward.ist goal last night he actually got back infront of the attacker but no attempt at a tackle just the usual turned inside out. When Saunders thinks there are ONLY 2 OR 3 better than him it shows the seriousness of the situation at WWFC..

Think it is time to follow the lead of Sydney Wolf and cancel my wolves player, even £4.49 a month is more than Morgan deserves.

"made crucial strides before Ward finally tracked back to delay him." Precisely - and this has been happening all season. If you want to waltz back into the net with the striker - he will let you. Tackle the dratsab! And what happened at the other end when a golden opportunity came to Henry to strike the ball at the target (not the goal keeper btw) - he managed to pass it sideways! At the kick off ball all the way back to Ikeme - why? Has he never seen a ball before? He hoofs it up field it bounces around before going to Leicester for possession. I have never seen so much head tennis. Do Barcelona play as much? Maybe we can learn something from them? Oh sorry - they play ball to feet. And where was the new 18 year old January signing tonight? FGS - couldn't write this crap. Sad, sad, sad.

Percy

Going down, going down, going down! Utter disgrace from top to bottom, complete and utter shambles! Ashamed to be a Wolves fan!

Jake

We arent going down. If you are ashamed of being a Wolves fan then do us all a favour and go and support someone else.

Wednesbury wolves

Your not bully are you?????? We're not going down, deluded!!!!! Our only hope is a decent left back decent right back creative midfielder, and a quality striker next wk in loans, but I won't hold my breath, as moxey doesn't pay more than 100 rupees!!!!!! See you next season at Walsall and Shrewsbury!!!!!!!

jake we cant win games partiuarly at home????, we are at risk of going down and from the perfornances ive seen we are not too good to go down either. dont blame the fans when it is some of the players who should be ashamed and and should do us all a favour and go elsewhere .

Orlando Wolves

The improved performance (apart from the awful defending that led to the two goals), was obviously appreciated by the travelling fans, were perhaps the only positives to be drawn from this match. Two points out of a possible 12 is not good but at least the goal difference wasn`t affected as much as feared by some fans.

We will now have to await the opening of the loan window to see what players are coming, if any.

UTW

Cuddly Dudley

So much better

Putting aside the a lack of support from SM in the transfer window and all the negative posts about our new manager by the usual few.

We got caught by two counter attacks and must do better than that. Who the hell was covering Ward after he'd made one of the best crosses of the game ? He had to run back nearly a hundred yards to try and pick up Knockeart. Not good enough.

We played some great football and deserved better. Those who have been knocking our new manager, take heart from that display and the way he approached that game.

Danny Batth made a decent debut, but, showed his experience with that second goal.

Desperately disappointing result

TWG

Why was Batth in the position of having two players running at him ? Ok he didn't cut out Nugent but where the hell was Foley again ? Looks like he's had lessons from Ward !

AucklandKiwiWolf

A good performance from Wolves. However you get no points for being gallant losers. Both Leicester goals highlighted Wolves priority.ie.Getting a solid defence. Both goal were counter attacks. The first goal the Wolves defence were ball-watching and the second,Wolves right defensive flank was non-existent when they allowed the opposition to take the ball unchallenged from their own half with the defence retreating giving Nugent plenty of time to place his shot.I thought Danny bathh had a good game overall. Before Wolves can stop the rot, they have to get the defence sorted out.Get rid of the tried and trusted deadwood. Deano! The fans know that Stephen ward is NOT a fullback!Surely we can do better.

Four wins should see us right for staying up i feel.I reiterate WE NEED TO GET THE DEFENCE SORTED ONCE AND FOR ALL!

Orlando Wolves

To be perfectly honest, I don`t think Stephen Ward thinks he is a full back either. As was said elsewhere on this page, he was cover for an out of form player at left back and three years later he is still there.

Trevor

Oh well, at least we're going to go down with a fight.

Great to see all those new big-money signings coming in on transfer day!

At least Moxey will be happy that Saunders has reduced the wage bill a bit - I wonder if players get their salary cut in half again if we go down to Div 1?

Oohbullybully

Wages cut transfer money saved. Club must of made a profit this season. Moxey will get a big big bonus this year. Well done FAT CAT. Next year will be full of more false promises just sell season tickets. Looking forward now to the early bird offers.

Thats it - ive had enough of this club of ours..... warned of a flurry of transfer activity... all we get is Lee Evans to join the rest of the comedians!!! We'll never get rid of the dross at the club if they are asking for 1.8m for the likes of strearman..... get real wolves....

The people running our club are a complete joke..... statements come out galore but NONE of them ever come to fruition....

There are two things going on here:

Firstly - with his thirst for a 'bottom line' Moxey is strangling our club - what does he care if we play in league one - he still picks up his 100k+ per year

Secondly - Mr Morgan is a real estate developer.... he has done the deed on the training ground / school / housing developemnt thing and you just know he didnt come out of that with a loss!.... and molineux is a much more attractive commodity now.

I am disgusted by the way things have been allowed to deteriorate by a lack of proper footbaall management and investment.... and so I for one will be following the club no more until such time as I see proper people at the helm of our wonderful football club.

Where's the fight, where's the up and at em in yer face Leccy league style?? We stand back, show too much respect and just keep backing off hoping moves will fizzle out instead of nipping them in the bud from the start. Leicester weren't that good, we gave them two goals and too much time. Karl Henry yet again was lucky to stay on the pitch , goin over the top of the ball when it was easier to take it cleanly, and can somebody explain the high balls into SEB. It's really frustrating when you know that at full speed we're better than Leicester ,and they're in line for the Prem.

Anybody tell me what all the Chris Wood fuss is about, he was the worst player on the pitch.

From the BBC website ....

"

But Leicester secured victory thanks to Nugent's finish from just outside the area after sloppy Wolves defending.

Nigel Pearson's side move three points clear of third-placed Hull City and seven points behind leaders Cardiff City having played one game more.

In contrast, Wolves are just five points above the relegation zone and without a win since Dean Saunders took charge earlier this month.

The worry for Saunders will be the way his side conceded so easily."

Sloppy Wolves defending - conceeding too easily and what have we done about it? Absolutely zip!

The inactivity and silence from the top is astounding.

wolfman

league 1 here we come, moxey should be sacked. and a vote of no confidence in morgan. enough is enough.

S. Solbakken

Can I have my job back now?

Mick McCarthy

Sol pal, you'd be better getting a job somewhere else, like I have.. Jez will still be at Wolves, so nowt changes there

Terry Connor

DXB Wolf

In breaking news Jez Moxey has, for the first time ever, been honest...after doing nothing at all in the transfer window his statement that the current players have to get us out of this mess has an ominous truth to it...#completeandutterjoke

Mike Pearson

Well today has been diabolical if you are a Wolves fan. We have lost yet again, got rid of a number of players and brought in an unproven 18 year old from a Conference side. The transfer window has come and gone and we are stuck with essentially the same players as before who show no signs of turning this mess around.

What exactly is a Wolves fan to make of all of this, one wonders?

On top of this we have a new stand that will never be filled, the same defence that we all agree is absolutely worthless and no serious goalscoring threat.

It is truly stunning how far we have fallen in such a short space of time. Ownership seems to live in a bubble and appears to have little to no interest in explaining its policy or logic to the fans who spend hard earned money to watch a never ending parade of rubbish football.

Vintage

January Transfer Window - totally wasted ... Ins and Outs

Most companies have objectives of "delighted customers(supporters to us)". Or "exceeding expectations"

Those certainly don't apply to M & M's idea of running our club !! Their mission statement must just be :- "don't bother about the history and reputation of this club, don't bother about the football, don't bother about the fans they just seem to come and pay up anyway, let's just make ourselves "loads of money"

Dubai Wolves

More of the same sloppy defence yet Moxey fails to sign anyone - again! When was the last time we took only 770 fans to a local derby? TV or no TV even Morgan has to note decline in attendance. Club run by muppets but no one laughing.

Wednesbury wolves

Exactly, we took more fans away in the 80,s to grounds like Southend Grimsby Scarborough, 770 to Leicester, oh dear Morgan what is this telling you? I will be at oakwell in 2 wks, with my son, bet there will only be half that many then, for the RELEGATION battle!!!!!!

Time to stop being taken for mugs and vote with our feet, there is only one way this regime is going to learn and that's to treat them with the same contempt as they do us! The teams below have the momentum at the moment and good gaffers to drive them out of the mire, we are in big trouble!

Deans the man

What's the point in playing well when we keep loosing.I would not let Morgan run a pub team I wish he would sell up before it is to late as he has no interest in our club .Once again the the transfer window shuts and no new players who is lee Evans? .Well moxey will be after our money soon I wonder if we will be the dearest club in div one because that is we're we are going

psm

well as was expected no new players in it seems they are trying to get us relegated ,for the last 2 years when money should be spent none as been .there as got to be an hidden agenda as to why so little effort to stay up ? .Why when they say we have got to cut the wage bill do they turn down bids for 2 players one being ward who was at fault for the first goal .Moxey and Morgan do not care about the club the only way to show how we feel about them is to stay away .

Eleven in Gold

Bully on Sky Sports called the defending shocking. Ward can run backwards quicker than I can run forwards and I am fast! He and Berra should never play for Wolves again. Batth the only decent defender. Foley also shocking as a defender. Henry lucky to remain on the pitch and contributes nothing to the team. He can't even have a decent shot at goal when he had a chance. We are going down. Can't defend can't score. Moxey out Morgan out.

Harrow Wolf

Yes this was a improved performance, but not a good performance. Just better than the dross we have had of late. A good team will play bad and win a bad team will play good and still lose.

Kenny Hibbitts Left Foot

Good fighting performance last night. But the look in Deano's eye's and his body language suggests he has just realised he's been shafted by Morgan and Moxey!!

Chillo Wolf

First half display was typical of where both teams are in the league. Leicester showed confidence, energy, desire. Whereas Wolves showed a complete lack of confidence. Leicester deservedly went ahead, should of had a pen and Henry should have definately been sent off for that challenge. Second half, it was completely different, Henry had his best 45 minutes for an age, O'Hara was controlling the midfield and as for Sako ... what a goal!

If we play like that for the rest of the season we will be fine. And it's something to build on so don't be too harsh and get behind the boys

PeteNuts

Should HAVE. SHOULD HAVE.

Chillo Wolf

Get a grip Pete mate i'm at work and shouldn't be doing this in the first place.

Stroudpete

Batth looked ok apart from the second goal. Both goals cam from breakaways where defenders backed off and backed off until the players could shoot, unchallenged. Berra hiding pointlessly both times. When they have the ball in attack, no idea what to do with it - headless chickens indeed. SEB worked hard. Doumbia and Sigurdarson running around with no purpose at all. Shocking inability to control the ball when it was passed to them, even from throw-ins. Not looking good - and nil transfer activity. Difficult to see where any points might come from. Total mismanagement at the top.

sue

I may get it in the neck(again) but I thought we were the best team tonight! Sako looked like he did when he came here, all round good performance let down again by some woeful defending mentioning no names, liked the look of Batth(spelling) also thought Karl was lucky to stay on the pitch, before anyone jumps on my back I know we got nothing from it but in my humble opinion a better performance!

Wednesbury wolves

1st time I've ever agreed with you sue, the fact is the problems from 3 years ago, have never been sorted!!!! Ward is not a LEFT back, he's a striker, foley Berra Henry Doyle, all still playing apart from Doyle last night, they are the problems!!!!!!!!!

The Flying Winger

Sue, there were times when we played very well.

But we were woeful in the first half, we could have been down to 10 men again because of stupidity.

We didn't clear the ball to our players, the only player who got near an attacker was Batth, this back peddling has been going on for ages.

O Hara & Henry played too deep and long balls were thrown forward to SEB who had not a cat in hells chance against a commanding big CB.

w

What Ward thinks he is doing I don't know.

Leon

Most of the players played well, especially second half. Sigurdarson was hopeless and does not deserve another chance. If we had a better player on the pitch while we had our purple patch we would of scored 3 or 4 goals.. We need a striker and left back to compete with Ward, who only started to play when the rest of the team did, he was poor until then.. But sadly Moxey could not get his calculator to work properly..

Wednesbury wolves

Leon I'm a fan like you, but slating siggy, whose hardly started a game cos they always play deluded Doyle, is a bit much!!!! As for saying get another left back to compete with ward, Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo he's a striker FFS, get him out the club, and bring in new left back, SIMPLE. And why does moxey need a calculator??????????? He needs p45

PJB

Sue

Do you remember the 70's super group Blind Faith, you must have been a big fan!

Yes it was better but still null points and all the usual suspects performing to their usual levels of (in)competence.

Foley - AWOL

Ward - need I add to the comments already made by the majority of posters on here.

Henry - does not understand the words forward or shoot and his serial thuggery is becoming an embarrasment..

Berra the bear hug - statuesque.

Ebanks Blake - a shadow of his former self ( apart from his figure) whose missed chances are becoming habitual.

Edwards - probably contributed as much sitting on the bench as he did on the pitch.

As always your loyalty is commendable but whilst we have these losers playing the decline will continue and with Morgan & Moxey runnning the show nothing is likely to change for the foreseeable future.

sue

PJB- never heard of them perhaps I do have blind faith but I still think it was more promising me and me blind faith!!

PJB

Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Stevie Winwood and Ric Grech. Sounds a much more formidable quartet than Henry, Ward, Stearman and Edwards, don't you think?

sue

Yes remember Eric Clapton,Ginger Baker(drummer) Stevie Winwood(small faces?) not the other one,I was always a Stones and Kinks fan!!

Don't they could play in midfeld...

Brightonwolf

'Frantic Friday? Won't Do An Albion? War Chest? Strengthen in Jan Window? Bring in 2 or 3 Signings, Need a Left Back & Striker' Blah, blah, blah. We are being screwed and so is our Club. Meanwhile Barsley, Hudds, Bristol City all win, something that puppet, yes man Deano has failed to achieve in 4 games...a better performance, granted but we need points and a defence

Broseleywood Wolf

Watch the match whilst being at sea, have been on here slating Dean Saunders and the Players. Either Liecester were bad and made Wolves look better or we played well and got nothing from the game. Evens up because when Liecester were at our place they were unlucky not to get something. I do see a bit of hope and I do see Wolves staying in the Championship if they can play like this. About deadline transfer signings, fed up with hearing that we should spend our way out, Robbie Savage has said that Players are the ones who benefit from the January Window. I don't want over paid players with no heart at the Wolves. What I saw last night were players trying to get their pride and the joy of playing football back. Mr Saunders - its a results game at the moment, you have only managed 2 points out of 4 games!!!. So just beware, I will not knock you anymore because I saw a pattern yesterday and I hope it continues. Yes I will be going down to the club when I'm home. Thank God that we never signed Marlon King, I would not have turned up until he had gone or a change of Management, Wolves do not need those types of Players and Sir Jack rightly would have never allowed it.

old wolf

good post brosleywood wolf

Silver Wolf

An improved performance maybe, but still a long way short of what is required. The defence gapes open at the slightest hint of pressure - Ward in particular was languid and laid back to the point of looking disinterested - it seemed his mind was elsewhere, Nottingham for instance?

As for signings ..... nuf sed. Oops almost forgot the 18 year old we captured against the odds.

Btw, how did our CE have the cheek to be absent from the match? The excuse, seemingly, was that he was doing deals back at the Mol. Would it be rude to ask what those deals were? In many other walks of life such behaviour would earn instant dismissal.

However, it could be he was looking at the bank balance as we head for another surplus .... and another Division!!

Stato's Boring Brother

Anyone watching this performance who hasn't been going to live matches must be asking what everyone has been moaning about for the last few weeks. For parts of the game, particularly in the second half, we were the better side and it was hard to spot the difference between the top 2 team at home and a struggling team away. With a bit of luck and tighter defensive support from midfield we could have had at least a point.

Its a bit unfair to single Ward out for criticism for the first goal as he put in a fairly decent cross from near the corner which was cleared quickly to a man near the halfway line. Ward did well even to get to attempt to cover given that he had to make up 25 to 30 yards and no one in midfield had moved over to cover. Unfortunately the second goal was similar (but came down the other side) as they hit us on the break after an attack broke up.

It says something that their central defender was man of the match and if the lads put in this effort for the rest of the season we should be OK. Danny Baath looks like he can do a decent job for us and ought to get a decent run as soon as we're sure we're safe (along with a few more youngster).

One last point, please Dean get somebody else taking our corners as Sako never beats the front post defender.

Stato's Boring Brother

Sorry - DANNY BATTH - 2/10 for typing

wednesbury/wolf

I cant understand all the talk of we need a striker and the team just needs tinkering a bit with a few new faces added, yet again whats happened? transfer deadlines gone no business done.

Moxey the controller must go he's no good for the club he's way to comfortable in his job and yes it looks like we have another yes man in chadge with saunders, very very disapointed and very very angry with all whats happening at wolves utter shambles.

Robert

A much improved display though it may be too late to prevent a climb up the league. Sadly defensive errors were again our downfall. Doumbia failed to coverfor Ward and then Ward him, self failed to tackle outside the area allowing a shot resulting in the winner. No signings so we continue to struggle through this diabolical season. Wonder what the gate will be against Leeds.i

sean

SACK JEZ MOXEY!!!

Ciren Wolf

By all means wonder what happened to transfer deadline day and wonder where our great new striker is but for the first time for ages we played like we wanted it NOT like they didnt even wanna be there-and for the whole game as well!!!

. I agree theres still some shortcomings in defence to say the least but Ward didnt have a bad game and we still havnt got a goal scorer for which I blame Moxey - and probably Deanos inexperience as a Manager wheeler dealing-but lets hope Deano's getting some enthusiasm back in the squad and get behind em coz despite wanting Moxey out and not being sure bout Morgans gameplan, i for one dont want to be watching League 1 next season

dave

We are a bloody shambles!!

Ward took his left back competence to a all time low last night, How many years since we have had a decent left back?

What a surprise no signings yesterday, We knew that would happen and i love the we tabled bids for players but wasnt successful hahaha. Well if you offered to buy Messi for £1m then you will get knocked back. So it strikes me we offered little money as tken gesture to the fans but no real intention of buying, But wauit for the quote "The loan market opens up in 7 days then we may yes only a may do business"

Steve Morgan you are getting hated nearly as much as Moxey, You have no idea how to run a football club. Go and build another housing estate with our money you clown.

Staffs-midle-age-wolf

Mr Moxey was elsewhere persuing other transfer deals, he failed, will he be sacked ? I would be if I couldn't do my job.

Maybe Moxey was persuing other deals lets hope he was looking on jobsite or another employment website.

He can't have been watching other players as the pub sides don't play til Sunday.

I am surprised he didn't go for Beckham, he was within our pay structure just about.

I live in North Stafford and I work with many Stoke fans I am constantly reminded that we will not achieve any football success until we ditch the fat controller.

Lee Evans ? comedy night at the mol should be good, what a laughing stock, one for the future, yes because we are heading for the Blue square league thats why ...

Phil Smith

Shouting about it here does nothing.

Vote with your feet!!!

keanewolf

At what point today do you think that slimeball Moxey will treat us all like a bunch of morons and claim we had bids in for everyone and did everything we could to bring in targets?

Sick of the lies, sick of morgan, especially sick of moxey and worse of all, at this moment of time sick of supporting this club!

Dave

Well i sat in front of the tv thinking shall i watch Wolves or switch to watch the deadline transfers, Wolves won and it was just painful. Batth is way out of his league caught out in the wrong position or losing possession far too easy for a big lump. Won't write him off just yet but last night wasnt anywhere near good enough.

The rest? Just awful, We are bang in a relegation fight thats for sure.

Woolley Wanderer

Amazing that even after a much improved performance, people are still slagging off the team. Its not their fault the clubs run by muppets is it?

Solution for me is play Johnson and Batth together, stick with the 4-3-3 we played yesterday but bring in Pszeko on the right wing.

Time we got behind them, rather than slagging them off.

ArmchairKen

While I agree with the majority of your comments....I cannot agree on one point...you say we should stop slagging this team off and get behind them....Isn't that what we have done for the last 4 yrs or so (same players-different managers and leagues)...Ask yourself this...Have any of these players repaid our loyal support and patronage ??? NO...It's the same old story every season and these players (with only 1 or 2 exceptions)are just not good enough..Its time to give these players some stick...NOT the manager. Remember...you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear... Although Deano (bless him) thinks he can.. UTW

J. Moxey

Apologies we didn't bring anyone in yesterday. At least we got the wage bill down and I'll still get my bonus!!! Phew!! League 1 is where it's at anyway! All the best Jez!

depressed

Ward - worst performance from a full back i have ever seen !

Henry - clean shot on goal , so turn round & run back towards our goal !

Morgan & Moxey - pathetic , the whole of January to sort this mess out & nothing , employ a yes man as manager and apart from the 'Newport startlet' not one single signing !!!!! .

Hope the pair of you are satisified sitting on your large pot of money from our transfers out , parachute payments & reduced wage bill .

Is a crying shame what the pair of you are doing to this club .

lambwolf

Lets face it ,I think we all suspected deep down that little or nothing would happen in the tranfer window, we sell and make little or no effort to buy,its almost a form of assett stripping. Moxeys malign influence reigns supreme ann Morgan isn"t in the least interested in stopping it. Maybe all the money is going on land aquisition for future building projects. Land always comes good in the end,and is far less risky and more long term for your pension fund.than Wolves are to Mr Morgan

Yes, the two M"s are taking us for fools ,makes you wonder where is the tipping point of all this ?.

Both M"S pay lip service to the club ,but how much do we believe any more ?.

One thing is fo sure though and that is they will both enjoy a far more comfortable retirement than most of us.

TJ

1ST half poor 2nd half improved why can,t we play for 90 minutes ? Sako is a liability in defence . should not be allowed in the box should stay towards halfway line for breakaway .... Morgan bought us for a tenner must be making fortune with houses no interest in WWFC time he put up or sod off

wandering_wulf

Dean Saunders still ranking alongside Clipboard for Wolves managers still never to win a match, I see.

Never fear, all those new signings bought with money from the sale of Fletcher, Kightly and Keogh are the cavalry who'll save us.

But in true Panto fashion... oh no they're not! Because Moxey needs every penny he can get for the carvery.

Come on Walsall - get promoted and pass us as we go in opposite directions.

Goodness... are there no members of the Hayward family who can trigger any contract clauses on behalf of Sir Jack and get us our club back..?

wwfcforever

I have recently subscribed to sky sports and started watching all the Wolves matches.

This was by far and away the best performance I have seen this season even though we lost. Deano has got them trying to play football - something SS was brought in to do but never achieved in the matches I saw.

Goalkeeper distributed the ball to a back four comfortable to take the ball from him and try to work the ball forward. We counter attacked with a bit of pace and purpose. Batth did well in his first game though stood off Nugent for the second goal.

Three negatives for me were

1 Ward defended the first goal like the centre forward that he is. We must buy another left back during the transfer wind....oh it's shut!

2 Sigurdarson.....the best word for him is insipid

3 striking options are very thin

poor 1st half , improved 2nd half why can,t the team perform for 90 minutes ? Sako liability in the box should never be there , stay up front for breakaway , Morgan paid a tenner must be making fortune in houses no interest in WWFC should put up and be counted or sell to somebody with vision because he hasnt any

The Lord of Bradmore

For Transfer free Moxey but must be able to have pie deal and a big bonus

Pete

Well if that was much improved I failed to see it, the players are frightened of the ball it's like a hot potato, and when you think their second goal was bought from deep in their own half it amazes me. I felt sorry for Batth with Berra, Ward and foley by his side, I didnt see any rush from anyone to sign Berra who asked to go and Ward I would have bitten their hand off cover or not ! Apart from the two wingers who were passable and Blake who worked hard but should have scored twice that was it for me. Jamie o hara was pathetic at least twice he knocked the ball into touch from OUR throw in and his passes were woefull at times. To some up in a word RELEGATION !

Old Golds Worth More

Well, it transpired we accepted Forests second offer on deadline day, but Ward must have turned it down, shows you how much he must be on here then! Prior to the match SKY had a quick interview with DS and asked about new signings, DS replied bids had gone in but we were not prepared to pay over the odds, so I knew then, that nothing was going to happen transfer wise. Doyle was on the bench, probably because of the reported interest from Celtic, which turned out to be a loan offer only, and was rejected. So two cancelled contracts, a loanee (Pennant) returned and a nominal fee for Nouble, and a teenager brought in, the sum total of our transfer activity. Pathetic!

ArmchairKen

In his pre-match TV interview....Deano said "When I look round our dressing room I see a lot of good players"..... WHY O WHY didn't he send them out onto the pitch. What does he see in Sigurdarson,Doumbia,Ward,Foley etc. etc..... Highlight of the night?...SAKO ...still a lot to learn but what a worker...and what a STRIKE..............UTW......Ps..Yet another chance missed in the transfer market ...same old lies from M& M.....

Wednesbury wolves

Siggy needs games hardly played, looks promising!!!! Always picked doyle 124 league games 23 goals ahead of him, and doumbia needs games, as for ward foley Henry Berra I don't know what they see in them, but there 1 of the cliques that need to go, ain't it great though ken to keep your money in your pocket, and make comments from your armchair!!!!

Unable to defend again and did not score enough. Obviously no ambition looking at the lack of activity in the Transfer Market. Not sure that trips to Walsall , Coventry or Shrewsbury will excite the fans looking at last nights away attendance. Perhaps Morgan can build some Apartments on the ground. At least we will have the best Museum in League 1.

A better perfomance but I hope DS looks at the dvd to see where the goals came from. Ward & Foely they are NOT full backs and are the problem we have had in defence for a couple of seasons now. Henry was lucky to be on the pitch and does not have the ability toi find a pass in the final third and looks to pass sidewards or backwards, Sigerdson shoud have been subed 10 min before he was he had run out of steam. But the biggest disapointment for all the fans No signings after being told by Moxey Saunders and Stevs Bull to expect some, Steve Bull looked embaressed on tv because like the fans he has been conned by Morgan & Moxey they both need to go they are not fit to be in charge of WOLVES and I hope the fans show them that we do not want them at our club by not going to the Leeds game.

SAVE OUR CLUB MORGAN & MOXEY OUT.

Weybourne Wanderer

The irony is that had Saunders stayed with Doncaster, he would have been enjoying Championship football next season any way. As it is, we are headed for League 1, improved performance or not.

wolves benalmadena

The best performance of the season in the second half, you would not have known which team were 2nd and which time were down the bottom, but whilst we continue with Ward we will always have defensive problems as he never tackles just backs off turns and jumps and never stops any crosses coming in. We have suffered him for 4 yrs and every Manager plays him week after week, i cannot understand why we keep playing him there must be someone better at the Club and if not we desperately need a L.B on loan and actually play him.

ASTLES BRIDGE

2 points from a possible 12...has he been sacked yet !!!! You can't blame Mcarthy, Connor and Salbaken Know !!!

Stato's Boring Brother

Astle lost the world cup - Do you mean NOW?

sheepinwulfsclothing

Stato's Boring (and not so factual) Brother, you should "know" that Astle didn't lose the world cup with the miss against Brazil. The team still went on to play West Germany in the quarter finals and lost 2-3 after being 2-0 up and well in control.

Orlando Wolves

Correct...and we would likely have won that game, if Bobby Charlton had not have been substituted! The disaster happened after Sir Alf Ramsey pulled him off with England in control of the game.

That`s football for you.

lambwolf

Mr Saunders

I think a good idea would be to resign now before the two M2s do irreperable damage to your fledgling career . You will of course realise by now that you have been conned by this pair. Think you would do better long term to walk away and tell us what its realy like at the Mol.

Good luck if you decide to stay because you will need all the help you can get.,because you wont get it from these two.

Cardiffwolf

Last year's window - Eggert Jonsson

This year's window - an 18 year old from Newport

Mr Morgan, you are spoiling us

StaffordWolf92

We've said time and time again how poor ward is at left back. How many goals are we going to leak because of his incompetence? It's so frustrating to watch because he's been first choice left back for four managers! And he's our vice captain. I honestly can't believe he's been playing for this club for so long. He's an absolute waste of time, along with Moxey. No signings bar an 18 year old from Newport who's gone straight in the youth set up. We need players to help us stay in this league, not for the future. But then again what does Big Jez care, he still walks away with 100k+ a year.

chris h

£100k a year! You have got to be joking .multiply by 10. I had to smile when they said King at Blues is one of their big wage earners , on £18,000 a week ,yet in seasons 2010/11 and 2011/12 we paid our Chief Executive more than that.Money for old rope.

herewolf

Chief executive Jez Moxey was absent from the King Power Stadium to pursue deals, but the transfer window closed without any new signings at Molineux.mmmm now i AM surprised but wait it was for players it was for a new pie supplier!! Moxey and Henry (who should have been sent off ..mans a total liability) came from stoke wish i could get hold off the guy that sent them!!! get rid of both then maybe, just maybe...well we can but hope......

Hermanus-wolves

So Wolves burnt while Morgan watched on.

So I guess we go the way of Doncaster. Down down down.

I been a supporter for 50 plus years and the last time we were like this was with the brother Grimm.

How can any manager worth his salt go through a transfer window and only get a young lad.

I guess it says it all.

Morgan Moxley you had plenty of time to get a good manager. I think the ones you could have had rejected the offer because you are tight. Told them they had to make do with what we've got. Well lads you can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. And another cliché when you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

Let us have a truthful statement of where you see the club this year and the coming 5 years and how you intend to do it. How much you have to spend. etc etc.

Jack must be so so sorry he sold to you. You have done nothing for the club. No that's a lie, you are leading us to div 1.

CardiffWolf

The disaster that this club has become is down to the mismanagement of Jez Moxey. If we do need to let players go to bring new ones in then that's Moxey's fault. If the money isn't there to sign new players after the recent proceeds of sale and the parachute payment, that's Moxey's fault. The failure to accept bids for some players that need to exit the club this transfer window is Moxey's fault. The failure to sign new players this transfer window is Moxey's fault. The series of poor managerial appointments is Moxey's fault.

In any other business this man would have been hung out to dry and sacked. The reason that this hasn't happened is that Steve Morgan is, for whatever reason, afraid to confront Jez Moxey and take the action that the club needs to survive. I do not mean to me melodramatic by the use of the word 'survive'. I genuinely fear for the future of my beloved club whilst this parasite remains within the senior management.

Having meant Jez Moxey I absolutely believe that he cares nothing whatsoever for Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. Our club is nothing but a means to an end for this man. That end is to make as much money for himself personally as he possibly can. By the time he eventually departs, he will be extremely rich and will not care that the club will be struggling in the lower reaches of the league. I was shocked by the arrogance, disregard and inflated ego of the individual when I met him. He has no qualities, either as a person or as a Chief Executive. He is, quite simply, unpleasant, incompetent and self-serving.

Mr Morgan, it is time for you to stand up as the Chairman of the club and bring an end to Jez Moxey's employment. This is your duty and your obligation to Wolves. If you do not, then you are also failing us and should also look to move on. Mr Morgan is the only person who can change this now and he must act swiftly and positively.

Scooped

He already is extremely rich!

Never has a more incompetent buffoon made so much money for complete failure.

bilodave

Morgan is a COWARD.

Orlando Wolves

Good post CardiffWolf.

I can`t disagree with the points you have made regarding Jez Moxey, he has a one dimensional approach to the running of the club, and that is a total concentration on the club`s bank balance to the total exclusion of everything else. It must be conceded here that in this he has been quite successful, for which, he has been more than generously rewarded.

The problem however, is that matters have not been anywhere near as successful on the playing side.

I believe that Steve Morgan does care about Wolverhampton Wanderers, but has, and is, being poorly advised by Jez Moxey. He has allowed him far too much leeway and influence regarding the selling / purchasing of players and managerial appointments. This parsimonious approach has resulted in the quality of the team suffering as a result.

There are three ways to put this right and they are as follows;

1) Appoint a new CEO of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.

or

2) Appoint a Director of Football, who reports directly to the owner of the club and who is not under the direct control or influence of Jez Moxey.

3) Both 1 and 2 above.

I think Steve Morgan has made some erroneous decisions in his tenure at Wolves, but his continued support of Jez Moxey as CEO is seriously undermining the future of this club. Steve Morgan has made substantial financial commitment to the club, and to suggest otherwise would be ignoring reality. Continued association with Mr. Moxey however, is unfortunately making him very unpopular with a large proportion of the fan base.

Some of these fans who continually post that `Morgan dosen`t care about the club`, should cast their minds back to when he intervened in the dressing room and blasted the players for their poor performance (one of his errors in my opinion, because it undermined Mick McCarthy). If he didn`t care about the club - he wouldn`t have done that would he?

Let`s hope the improved performance against Leicester City can be positively built upon, and some points come our way. Support is what the players and the club need at this time, not demonstrations, player abuse and booing.

Well done the 772 Wolves supporters at the King Power Stadium for the example of how to positively and properly support your team.

If we all had a pound for every time stephen ward was outplayed at left back over the last four years we would be rich men indeed .What belies belief is that someone wanted to buy him .

Stato's Boring Brother

Ward - First choice player for 4 club managers and one international manager and played at the world cup finals.

Your qualifications are?

Haling wolf

To be fair three of those five managers have been sacked , one just appointed and one on borrowed time you don't need qualifications or a decent cv to see what's blatantly obvious..!

Stato's Boring Brother

Can you name a modern manager who hasn't been sacked (other than someone in their first job)?

English Exile

Another absolutely dire defensive performance cost us dear.

YOU CANNOT DEFEND RUNNING BACKWARDS

You have to put in a tackle or a very least close the player down, which Ward failed to do for the first goal.

This is elementary football that kids should be able to do, never mind overpaid ''footballers''.

The second goal was very much along the same lines.

These are McCarthy's old players and they obviously can't adjust so get rid of them.

Batth had a good game and look forward to him forming a partnership with Johnson when he returns.

djp

Well Bully , Morgan and Moxey fooled you as well .No signings apart from the kid for the future , who will disappear like ALL our other cheap signings.

JUST TURNED THE LIGHTS OFF

Nightmare on Molineux Street

Four Managers same result, the defence is so poor and has been for several years and the fans paying hard earned money can see that so why can’t the club. Ward is not a LB and does not have the skill, pace and stamina to be a box to box player, failed on several occasions last night to put a tackle in when required kept backing off hence the 1st goal. Opposition managers have worked this out so keep targeting him. Put Margreitter out to LB as he can’t be any worse than Ward. Batth looks promising so should stay in team.

Berra what can you say and Henry Lucky to stay on pitch after a poor tackle, does not have the enough consistency to break up attacks, and when he does have the ball can’t spot a pass to open up defences .

E&S say Saunders is looking to build a team to challenge for promotion next season but promotion from which league?

Next home games Leeds and Cardiff god help us.

Kramitback

Just want to apologise to my 12 year old son, I made him a Wolves fan. I promise I will be a good Dad from now on.

Peter

A better performance from Wolves and did deserve a point at least but still bad defending we all know the defence needs strengthening especially left back

We all knew that no substantial amount of money was not going to be spent kidology all these weeks about new players

Mr Moxey pursuering deals he must have been trying to get a Morrisons deal buy one player get one or two free but there were no offers about.

DynamoWolf

You can only assume we're going to be using the loan market.

Saha is out of contract - give him a rediculous wage until the end of the season to get us goals.

Batth looked good he'd partner Johnson for me.

Foley, O'Hara & Ward looked poor yesterday. BUT oh my god how bad is Berra, scared everytime they attacked couldn't clear the ball properly & for there 2nd goal turned his back. He is quite possibly the worst defender i've seen at our club.

Morgan & Moxey (Dumb & Dumber) with their Yes-Man for a Manager!

I'VE ALWAYS SAID THAT THERE IS SOMETHING REALLY ROTTEN TO THE CORE AT THIS FOOTBALL CLUB

Robert Perry

Better performance, but the defence is a shambles. Surprise ,surprise we havent bought anyone in the window ,but after last year should this come as any shock? The board are causing us to sleep walk to relegation as the teams around us are picking up points. Looking forward to Moxey's press conference when he announces the club's forthcoming early bird offer!

willenhall wanderer

It says it all Wes Morgan (he's had more clubs than Jack Nickalus and has got to be 50 yrs old) man of the match

Stafford DeWolf

Same old dreadful defending by the usual suspects conspired to convert a very winnable game full of enterprising forward play into yet another defeat and no points.

Saturday's "ridiculous" defending became "shocking", as Leicester counter-attacked unchallenged, and another two goals were conceded.

It was too much for Steve Bull. At half time his ambassadorial guard dropped as he emotionally expleted "shocking defending". Right on Steve.

At full time a commiserating Steve Walsh offered advice to Wolves defenders not to back off in the penalty area. Right on Steve.

When will this all end? Maybe when this defense finds its level in League 1?

Staffs Wolf

Criticise if you like but this dire period we are going through at the moment bears all the hallmarks of the Bhatti period. Relegation from the top flight and looking like certainties for another season of relegation. Add to this the total lack of ambition at the club compared to our competitors. In fact the situation is probably worse now because in 84-85, parachute payments did not exist!

Anyone can see there is much wrong with our club that without change at the top and I'm not talking management here. We can have 10 managers in two years but without proper backing in the transfer market we are only going to regress.

I think that if Rob Plant could have more of a voice; he seems to be being kept quiet by Morgan and Moxey for some reason; he could be an invaluable mouthpiece to attract much needs investment.

Here's hoping!!!

WergsWolf

It's simple - gain possession, keep possession and score goals preferably more than the other side!

Dean should ask the players he has how this can be achieved. We are stuck , like Dean with the players we have and it looks likely to stay that way. Players must step up to the plate and sort it out with the Manager how to win. Other teams with no better players are doing just that winning!!

OzWolf

Improved performance tonight but not the result we all wanted but I have to say I have never seen any worse defenders than both Ward and Foley they are often caught out of position as was the case for both of Leicesters goals tonight and both always back off instead of going in to tackle. Then Ward has the audacity to berate Berra for their first goal what an absolute muppett he is I do hope Saunders finally see's how bad this guy truly is and keeps him out of the team from now on.

Then unfortunately we have the two clowns who run our great club and again they let us all down by not giving the manager the money to bring in better players its a very sad day indeed for the Wolves and I just hope the fans vent their anger towards these clowns at our next home match.

Dispondant

Once again all the speculation come to nothing if nothing else the two MMs are consistant why should we believe any thing they say ahd I'm sorry to say but it look as if we have yet another manager who they have in their pockets But look on the bright side at least we did'nt finish up with some of the rubbish we were being linked with at least the rubbish we have is our rubbish

Mary Berry's Sponge

The only deals Moxey was trying to do was sell players for far too much money.

Wolfhound

Payback is just around the corner for Wolves fans just try and sell us your earlybird.

Joe 90

We have a Welsh Manager, and have signed young Welsh lad, for the "Future" Does that mean when Wolves are playing in the Welsh Premier League? They will have their work cut out against T.N.S , Llanelli, Bangor and a few of the other teams. They MAY get 2pts home and away form Airbus but would struggle with the current "Cowboys"

Lostfaith

Yet another defeat, Yet another disappointing transfer window - League 1 here we come we've hit rock bottom now.

This club is rotten from the top to bottom now - protest at the leeds game!!

London Bloke

Last night even the pub was pretty empty, a sure sign that people have lost interest and faith in WWFC. The people who were in the pub were all certain WWFC would lose the game, predictions ranging from the actual score of 2-1 to 5-0.

The first half was a complete disgrace and frankly Wolves were lucky not to have 2 players sent off before half-time. Most of the watchers were astonished Henry didn't get red carded for the disgusting tackle he made. Yes the second half was a marginal improvement but WWFC players, except for Sako, are noticeably scared of going forward and there was far too much nervy sideways or backwards passing. I also thought that the WWFC players were a yard or so slower than the opposition, Blake was pathetically off the pace for most of the game. Ward was lost much of the time, Foley ditto.

So, with nothing new coming in and nobody really disposed of either it's "as you were", a sad and sorry state of affairs. I really hope that now the E&S will maybe stop printing some of the PR fluff that emanates from Waterloo Road and start asking some searching questions. We know that Moxey is an expert at spinning stories so he needs to be treated a little less gently than usual. What about an interview with Morgan? Surely his motives have to be questioned? Does he want a League One club? How does he intend to prevent the slide from continuing? How will they help Saunders, who looks more and more like a rabbit in the headlights?

There will, of course, be no worthwhile comment from anyone at the Molineux because they have nothing to say that the outside world wants to hear. Sad times for a club which gets smaller in stature by the day.

Tudorwolf

Steve Morgan and Jez Moxley ur time at wolves has run out please leave the keys at the door i dont want to hear any

good 2nd half performance. Absolute screamer from Sako. Ebanks-Blake should've had at least 1 goal. Unlucky not to have got a point in many respects, but then again, lucky to still be in the game at HT; Leicester should've had a penalty and Henry should've been sent off for studs-up over the ball challenge which made full contact.

wolvac

Everyone must demonstrate peacefully at the next match. Every body shout moxey out Morgan please sell. hopefully we can get an owner in who wants premiership football. Sick of the lies of Morgan and Moxey!!

Old Golds Worth More

The Celtic offer for Doyle according to SKY last night was apparently for a loan deal, so no wonder they were turned down. If the Transfer rumours in the E & S for 01/02/2013 are correct, then it seems we accepted Nottingham Forests bid for Ward, so what happened there is anyone's guess.

Not a single first team signing, considering the position we are in, I'd have thought we should have brought in at least three players, a left back, a Striker and a creative midfielder. Should we go down, then I wouldn't like to be in Moxey and Morgans shoes, to let it happen once, due to lack of team investment at a vital time was fool hardy, to do it yet again is criminal.

In Moxey and Morgan we don't trust!!

southbank wolves

calling all wolves if your not happy with the way the club is being run by mr morgan then dont go stay away hit him were it hurts in his pocket

Lostfaith

Spot on mate - I think thats the only way we'll get rid of these clowns!

Noisy

The thing is that the 'hit them in the pocket' argument doesn't really hold water. They have £25M in the bank and will probably make a profit this season with parachute payments and reduced wage bill even if nobody buys a ticket for the rest of the season. Think about it - there's only about 3000 buying tickets so lets say that's £100,000 times 8 home games. Not even a million quid - OK I would miss that, but I don't think Steve Morgan would!

PQ

Again the wolves board lets us down heard Saunders say in a radio interview next season he will have a team ready to challenge in the championship he needs a team now to stop us being dragged into a relegation fight

Andrew, Perton

We are desperately short of quality and have been allowed to become a team on the slide for too long now. We all knew where the problems were three years ago when we went up, and have not improved the one area that has proven our ultimate downfall - the defence. Too many players look stale. 80 odd goals conceded in last season's 38 games tells its own story. Not Deano's fault - he's doing everything he can with a below average team. While an improved performance at Leicester may bring encouragement, the fact remains that the long term does not look too bright at the moment. I'm praying we don't go down - but so far, the almighty has remained deaf to my prayers for both my football club and my current life situation.

CHUTNEY RAJA

Constantly slagging off Jez Money and Steve Morgain on here will not change anything.

Boycotting the club shop and matches will have a much greater effect. Also a fans rally in West Park, followed by a procession down Waterloo road might make them sit up and take notice.

There must be a way to arrange this, right?

Warren J

Moxey's comment about signing player, " Club wanted us to pay 30% over the their valve" Truth being probably wolves offered 30% below there valve. Cheapstakes!!!!!

Wolfhound

We release Zubar who was man of the match against Blackpool and replace with Foley who was shocking last night and part to blame for their 2nd goal.Moxey and Morgan should be banned by the football league from ever being involved in football again.

Ye Olde South Bank

A poor result but at least they tried, for once. Let's hope the team can build on this reasonable performance.

Our inactivity in the transfer market beggars belief but was highly predictable. I'm becoming more convinced every day that the club is actively seeking a second successive relegation -and they're certainly going the right way about it. What a disgraceful way to treat paying fans.

Barring a miracle, Wolves can count me out next season. I've finally had a bellyful of Morgan and Moxey. They're killing my club.

mardygit..

I saw hope for us last night, we were as good as Leicster if not better. 2 defensive errors cost us their 2 goals Ward backed off Knockaert and let him in the box instead of trying to tackle him those five or so yards outside the box he backed off from. He should not worry whats behind him, someone else should be covering any move to get past him ie one of the midfielders. The second goal Nugent was allowed to run 10/15 yards without being challenged once again a midielder should have got to him, cannot blame Foley he was worried about Dyer on his outside. But still we should not have lost. COME ON THE WOLVES.

Streetlywolf

Played well second half but same old defensive mistakes. If ward can't get back quick enough get a player who can of tell him to stay in a rigid back four who stay in a line!! Batth looks more composed than Berra and Johnson and I liked the way ikeme passed the ball out from the back although this can be dangerous. If Doyle bid was rejected why not bring him on when we needed an equaliser! Morgan you should of backed your man and got your cheque book out as although some players are underacheiving it is obvious we need a target man and a strong centre half like leics had last night e.g Morgan and wood! I'm afraid we are going to see how good a coach Deano is as no money! Need some players on loan that's if we can afford the wages! Should be ok if we play like we did last night!!

Westcott

G'day, watched the game in the early hours, a lot of positives I thought, same old negatives. Let's get one thing straight, Henry is useless and a liability, I don't give a monkey's wether he is from Wolvo or actually born on the Mol pitch, althouth I cannot see how such crap can be spewed from the hallowed turf. How successive managers can see a supposedly player, pass back, play other players into trouble, stop and wait, useless shots, get in the poo for bad and rash challenges, is beyond me and talk that much, captain my arse.

Defend him all you like and to be honest where we are headed, he will be a star player, hehehe.

Thought Baath had a solid game and the boys looked in control for a fair portion of the game.

Foley not to bad, Berra mixed feelings, Ward I have my reservations, but put a shift in, O'hara, Doumbia, rusty but showed signs, Sigurdson, rusty gave the ball away, won a few and talent is there, SEB bloody hell could have been 3-2, Sako wild card that needs to be played and let him go free, stuff the tracking back, that is not him, let him roam and cover his position when defending, one of those players who can do it on the day and fail on other days, think of Dennison, Cook, sometimes you have to accept a match winners ways.

With the oppurtunities and an extraordinary striker aka SB, JR, DD would have bagged a few nothing against SEB but, if your defence and midfield are good enough, the old 4,4,2 is the right tactic, pressure them always.

what about Sako just behind Cassidy and Sigurdson, left or right wing.

Transfer window closed, who do you think was coming to rescue WWFC, nobody that's who, we have a championship side who can compete with the others at the moment, in and out of the Prem, may be just need the motivation and enthusiasm.

let's face it when we went up, we bought a couple of players, nothing spectacular, I am hoping and to be honest would rather see the young blokes on for a solid bedrock for the future. Alot of these guys are taking money and taking the Michael. Flat rate pay of $.... and big win bonus.

All the best

Anyroad up looked and played better, if Leicster are 2nd, Wolves should be in the top 6.

All the best, Wolfs always

Scowling Joe

So its all talk about survival in the Championship now which I think we shall just about manage!!! All our star players with a special thanks to Moxey and Morgan can have a big pat on their backs for a job well done this season!!! (lol)

Bruce, Trinidad

Better, but same result and no points. After the other fixtures this weekend we could be one place above the drop zone. Perhaps our superior goal difference will keep us up. Only 43 concended so far, thanks to that zonal defence of Solbaaken! keep it tight at the back boys, don't lose by more than 1-0 or 2-0; and sneak in the odd goal for a 2-1 defeat and we should stay up.

Bruce, Trinidad

Stop Press! Worse than I thought, we have made the bottom three, 1 point from safety. Goal difference may not save us! Another reelegation battle in League 1 next season?

Andrew, Perton

No signings, despite the rumours. Warnock, Baptiste, King, Davies, Jackson. All of them somehow managed to slip the net. I hope they have better luck in the loan window - but loanees hearts won't truly be in it for the Wolves. Going to be an anxious weekend this week watching and hoping that all of the teams below us lose...

Palmer & Parkin 4 England

No team has a divine right to get by on its famous name (we're a prime example) but I feel sick to the stomach when a team we should (at the start of the season) be on a par with outplay us (don't be fooled by the 2 - 1 scoreline.....and our slightly improved performance.

From what I could see, not one Leicester player was worse than "our shower". Poor DS, through no fault of his own, these jokers (over-rated players and M & M) could be the 2nd team he is associated with, relegated in 3 seasons.

As with all teams lacking pace, we defend too deeply, and then can't get out quick enough to stop the ball coming back like "attack and defense".

Apart from the odd draw, I don't see where our next win will come from. Every team in this division (yes, even the current Blues side) will want us as their next opponent.

Can we get to 40 points and sneak home. I hope so, but we will be basically relying on 3 teams to stay below us, because if we drop into the bottom 3, they're ain't no way back.

For Wolves to stay up,we are going to have a great improvement in the forwards strike rate as we will need three goals to win a game with the defence that we have.Prospects do not look good!

A good performance in the second half last night when we played some of our best football of the season at times.

First half we struggled to get going and were lucky to still have eleven on the pitch after another fit of petulance by our captain after going a goal down.

Despite the fact that someone should have covered Ward. he still backed off and backed off and backed off until i thought he was going to end in the goal.

Sako bundled their player over and looked like he wanted to be somewhere else as it was as stonewall a penalty as you will see.

Only the fact that we are so weak up front stopped us getting anything out of the game as we were much the stronger team after the break. The difference was their front line who know how to find the back of the net while ours huff and puff and create half chances rather than clear cut ones.

At least the new signings will breathe a bit of life into this team. What?
