Highly-rated Wolves striker Liam McAlinden has signed a new deal.

moreThe 19-year-old from Cannock, whose contract was due to expire in May, was the Premier Under-21 League's top scorer with seven goals to help Wolves to promotion to the Elite League.

Liverpool, Everton, Crystal Palace and Leeds were all linked with the Northern Ireland Under-21 international.

McAlinden signed his first contract on the same day in December 2010 as Zeli Ismail, who recently penned a new three-year contract.

The forward was joined by winger Robbie Parry, who also put pen to paper on a new contract until 2015.

Parry, 18, has been with Wolves since joining from Wrexham at the age of 14 and has been capped by Wales at Under-19 level.

Wolves Head of Football Development and Recruitment Kevin Thelwell said: "We are delighted that Liam and Robbie have signed new deals and committed their futures to Wolves."

"For Liam it is his second professional deal and recognises his continued development which has seen him impress in the Under-21 league this season.

"Robbie has been showing plenty of promise in the Academy, and with a first senior deal under his belt can now look forward to aiming to make his mark at reserve team level as well."
