New Wolves signing Slawomir Peszko today insisted he can cope with the pressure of expectation at Molineux.

The 27-year-old Poland international winger finally completed his signing on a season-long loan from Cologne with a view to a permanent deal yesterday afternoon.

Peszko could make his debut in tomorrow's opening game of the season at home to Aldershot in the Capital One Cup first round.

The deal was held up for a couple of days as Wolves weren't sure which agent represented the player and they were being quoted different figures.

Peszko is trying to repair his reputation in Poland and Germany after spending a night in police custody following a drunken night out in Cologne in April which cost him his place in Poland's squad for Euro 2012.

But the man earmarked to replace the popular Michael Kightly is confident the experience of playing in front of 50,000 crowds every home game in Cologne has prepared him well.

"There's pressure there which I'm used to and they have 50,000 people at every game who are desperate for the team to win," said Peszko. "I'm used to that expectation which can help me with Wolves.

"I'd like to think it gets the best out of me and I enjoy playing in front of passionate fans."

Peszko is known as a bustling winger who isn't afraid to battle and he said he can create and score goals.

"I played most of last season on the left but my right foot is probably my favoured," he said. "I like to create goals and have provided a lot of assists. I'll work hard in every game."

Peszko believes boss Stale Solbakken will bring out the best in him. "This is a great opportunity," he added.
