Staale has a couple of months to reshape the squad. We already know one likely new recruit. He need to bring a few more in, and in particular some quality defenders.

One positive about being in the championship. We may get to see us win some games this season. Be interesting to see the changes in the first team. Hopefully strengthening the defence will be a priority.

Remember how Kites and Jarvo tore Championship defences apart last time we were here. Only worry there is they will be up against plodders like Neil Collins that will try and boot them off the pitch. Hopefully SEB will find his goalscoring touch again!

Can't wait for Opening day, as a Wolves fan living in Leeds, I can give lots of grief to all the dirty Leeds fans at work and the fact I'll get to see Neil Warnocks grumpy face on local news for the few days after just makes even more satisfying!!

When you look at the fixtures after being relegated its hard not to see win after win..lol xmas could be good and our run in might see us up.

Id take decent football and a season of top 6 lets just hope the haters don't start straight away if we only take a point at Leeds!!!

I still can't get over the FA cup semi final defeat in 1973 at Maine Road against Leeds.

John Richards hitting the post......so close, probably as close as we have been to an FA Cup final in my lifetime.

We got our revenge when we beat them and handed the title to Derby County - what a night at Molineux that was, great days.

The Championship - most exciting league in Europe! I for one can't wait for the new season, fresh faces and perhaps a new more thoughtful style of football (ha! last time I said that was before Hoddle started!!!)

Some ridiculous over optimism here.We were awful last season and couldn't beat Birmingham over 2 games.It could take Stale most of the season to sort out what is a poor team and then a promotion push in 2013/14.

The end of season run in looks decidedly tricky to me.

Great - 16 posts so far and none from the usual whingers. Have they gone away? I hope so but I doubt it.

Here's a little suggestion for all the whingers and moaners out there - please do not post any negative comments between now and the start of the season and save all your abuse for Leeds, their obnoxious manager Neil Warnock and their awful chairman Ken Bates.

I'm sure if you do that, a couple of thousand Wolves fans would blow the roof off Elland Road and drown out the Leeds fans. That's assuming that the whingers and moaners will actually go after threatening never to watch the Wolves again, tear up their season ticket etc, etc etc last season.

Ahhhh! Back in our comfort zone at last. Like a breath of fresh air. However, if we keep passing back to the goalkeeper from the kick off - we can sample the league below. You never know - it might be more comfortable than this one.

We shall win at Leeds. Mr. Warnock is past his prime, it would seem and Stale - who has the look of an AllBlacks coach about him - will most definitely start as he means to carry on.

Messrs Jarvis, Fletcher and Hennessey must also surely believe that winning almost every week as we did in 2008-09 is unbelieveable fun, as distinct from scrabbling for points with an unreliable premiership club.

I think Jarvis will be sold soon and good luck to the lad. I hope Stalle can get rid of Berra, Johnson and I would cash in on Henry. Time for Guedioura, Hammill and Batth to start getting in the side and a fresh, new youthful approach like Micks first season.

27 Bilodave & 28 Wolf - Sorry, having reread my earlier post I did get a bit carried away with my rant.

The point I was trying to make is that we ought to turn our frustrations outwards rather thn inwards and then we could become that mythical "12th man" that players and managers talk about.

I know its a long time ago but I was working in London at the time we played Palace in play offs and one of thier fans told me the following week that we generated the most intimidating atmospere he had ever seen (including local derbies) and it seemed like the whole world was against them.

We have that atmosphere for 3 or 4 matches or parts of matches in a season and it would be great if we had it for every single home match.

Mr Moxey - can we have the liquidator back to get the crowd warmed up? - I promise won't swear ;)

Stato, I suspect the Palace fan was just patronising you,they thumped us didn't they something like 4 or 3 -1.They had pace and power ,I seem to recall.There is no substitute for quality footballers.Get the right players and the rest will follow,and it will also stop all the moaners on here.That is something Moxey in his 12 years at Wolves, has never understood or more likely not wanted to understand.

Leeds away never good , also Barnsley have been waiting for us , no not the best of starts .

We know it is not going to be easy - but we have to hope. I'd like us to get back to the PL in one season, but if it takes two and results in a more secure situation than was the case last time, I could settle for that.

43 Chris - I was talking about the home leg. We had lost 3-1 down there (I seem to remember we scored late but they got another in injury time but I could be mistaken as I'd had 2 or 3 pints. We beat them 2-1 at home and the whole ground was hopping except for their corner of the South Bank. I think it was Dougie Freedman who score for them - not something he did that much when he signed for us.
