Jamie O'Hara today admitted he is playing through the pain barrier to help Wolves' survival fight.
The £5m midfielder is having to have painkilling injections to help him get through training and games because of his groin injury.
But the 25-year-old, who has now played three games since coming back from a double hernia, is hoping the discomfort subsides soon so he can play at full tilt again.
"I'm still trying to get back to full fitness as I've been having injections before training and games," said O'Hara.
"I'm just desperate to play and don't want to miss any more games so I'm fighting with things a little bit.
"That's probably why I was brought off after 70 minutes just to protect me.
"Hopefully over the next few weeks things will settle down and I'll be able to play pain-free.
"At this time of the season you just want to be playing and I want to help the team as much as I can.
"I just need to keep myself fit and look after myself because I don't want to miss any games now. It's a big three months for our season and I want to be involved."
O'Hara slotted into the position where he has looked most dangerous in last week's 2-2 draw at Newcastle when he played just behind lone striker Kevin Doyle. "When
'TC' (boss Terry Connor) wants to play 4-5-1 it looks like we can be compact but can score goals from it too," he said.
"If he wants me to play in that hole then great."
