Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Wolves fail in fresh Curbishley bid
Wednesday 22nd February 2012, 10:00AM GMT.
Wolves have failed with another attempt at trying to lure Alan Curbishley – as hopes of appointing Reading boss Brian McDermott receded.
Sources suggest the club went back to the former Charlton and West Ham manager yesterday after he turned down the job last week.
But the 54-year-old has rejected another chance to return to management for the same reasons as before – a lack of “shared vision” with chairman Steve Morgan in the direction the club was going.
It is understood Curbishley turned down the job last week after being offered a three-month contract.
That would explain the slashing of the bookies’ odds on Curbishley last night after he turned down the job following initial discussions with Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey.
The latest blow comes as hopes of recruiting McDermott receded.
Sources are suggesting McDermott has agreed a new, improved three-and-a-half year contract at Reading, leaving Wolves to look at other candidates.
Wolves were keen on McDermott but they were weighing up his impressive reputation which includes spotting Kevin Doyle during his time as Reading’s chief scout against a lack of Premier League experience.
Their approach sparked talks between the Reading boss, outgoing owner Sir John Madejski and new one Anton Zingarevich yesterday amid talk of a new, longer-term contract offer to replace his existing rolling 12-month one.
And with the signs that McDermott is set to stay at the Madejski Stadiium, that delay appears to have allowed other managers back in the frame.
Steve Bruce remains the steady hand ready, willing and able to take control at a moment’s notice.
But the club are concerned about the negative reaction from fans.
There are also other contenders who have not yet emerged in the public domain, with the club speaking to managers in and out of work.
They could include Blackpool’s Ian Holloway, who has Premier League experience.
Wolves again maintained there has been no approach to Brighton for boss Poyet, despite reports to the contrary.
The club are prepared to pay compensation for the right man but it is thought the £2m for Poyet would be too much.
Meanwhile, Wolves have dismissed reports from earlier today suggesting they targeted Reading’s director of football Nicky Hammond as well as McDermott as “rubbish”.
Wolves want purely a manager at this stage, and there is no suggestion that they are looking to combine the appointment with a scouting and recruitment-type post as well.

Dear Oh Dear
Told you before. No one wants the job.

Starting to get a bit desperate isn’t it.
Terry Connor in charge for the weekend it is then …….
If this is true then we are an embarresment! It points to a knee jerk reaction to a poor result to Sandwell and no major plan for a replacement of better calibre than what we had. Admittedly we where losing faith with McCarthy but at least we had a manager that out of all the bottom 5 has the experience to get us out of the predicament we are in. Then whatever division we are in shake his hand thank him for the incredible work he has done and start a recruitment drive safe in the knowledge that we have more than 2 weeks to find some one. What the hell is happening to our club! On the flip side I hope its a smoke screen for recruiting someone who is not on the radar….. we can but dream!
What a fiasco! How on earth have they got in this mess? Can’t say any more I’m just left speechless.
I don’t blame Curbs for rejecting a pathetic offer of 3 months. They should show some faith in him for the long term. Look what he did for Charlton.
As for the other managers supposedly in the frame. No thanks, they’re a step backwards from MM. If you can’t find a decent replacement then go and get MM back.
Where’s the ambition?
Curbs a very loyal manager…
Play up the wolves!

Muppets.
Get on the phone to Mick right now.

What a total shambles. How much does Moxey get paid? I said before that other Clubs seek a replacement Manager BEFORE sacking their existing one. The great work everyone at the Club (including Mick) has done over the last 5 years is being ruined and we will soon be back to square one. Utter disgrace.
Just tell mick it was a early april fool :-)
Pay the money, and just get Benitez in until the end of the season.
Its a no brainer!!!!!!!
We appear to be getting into the realms of desperation.
Whoever Wolves appoint as the new manager they will not appease all the supporters. They might as well get on with it and offer the job to Bruce. Either that or put Connor in charge until the end of the season and then look for a permanant replacement.
But stop dithering!
What a mess the board have got us into! The whole saga is an embarrasment. Bad timing, a lack of candidates and an indecisive Morgan is going to cost us.
I’d go for Lee Clark now and ask Kevin Keegan to come in alongside him for 13 games to give him the help and experience in the short term.
Either way we have to appoint someone soon otherwise we may have well as stuck with mick as it looks like we’re championship bound!
Sack the board may well be the next chant from the south bank unless they act decisively and swiftly.

Kermit the Frog assisted by Fozzie Bear seem to fit all the criteria i.e.
1. No Strings attached
2. Wouldn’t mind working with the other muppets!!!!

I dont Morgan & Moxey could have made a bigger cockup of the managers apointment if they tried. They have made us a laughing stock with the desperation now clearly showing !
I would love to know what this ‘lack of shared vision’ really is about?
OMG!!!!! Talk about embarrassing! Does not matter now, whoever comes in it’s all become silly! Gutless leadership, when we needed testicular fortitude Mr Morgan was found lacking! The players were a joke that day not MM, he should have been allowed to sort it and he would have done so. Now we are a joke!
Regretting getting rid of Mick are you Morgan? Maybe you should of gave him the cash he wanted for players instead of trying to save a few pounds! All your interested in is building! Try building what’s already on the pitch instead of what’s around it!

Total embarrassment
A Complete shambles
What’s the betting when they actually get round to appointing ‘whoever’, that they say “He’s been our number one target all along”
Depressed from Stourbridge!

If this is all true then I agree we are an absolute joke and the 2 Ms have failed the supporters. I do not understand why the supporters are so against Bruce. If I were him I wouldnt now accept any offer from the Club as they obviously dont want him. The supporters need to look at themselves as well

You couldn’t make this up

20 years as a season ticket holder and never have I thought of giving it up but I’m done now! It’s obvious where our great club is heading! I’m gutted but after this season is over I’m getting me a new armchair!

We are a farce. Embarrassing! Moxey, you know where you can stick your early bird! You have made us a laughing stock. Dithering and penny pinching will cost us our premier league place. Thanks for NOTHING!

Steve Coppell????
What a complete joke thi is becoming!!!!!! Have a No1 target and go for him, giving him the contract that he wants. If they want Curbishley that much they have got to find common ground. I think that Curbishley wants to overhaul the squad in the summer and the 2Ms are not prepared to go outside their budget. Shame really as I think Curbishley could do a decent job. My first choice would be Poyet with Wilkins as his No2.
Oh come on guys!!!!! Its been obvious for some time that Mick had ran out of ideas. Why could everybody see this except those running the club?
Cant believe they ousted Mick and had NO IDEA who they’d get to replace him.

Hodgson’s wise words “be careful what you wish for” are ringing home!!
Given the situation we are now in (i.e no Curbishley or Warnock available) would Bruce REALLY be that bad ? Must admit he does not exactly set the pulses racing but do Moxey and Morgan have much other choice at this stage. I know he is another “old school style” manager but he does have premiership experience. Has to be better than clipboard until the end of the season surely ???
Surprised Roy Keane has not thrown his hat into the ring.

RAY WILKINS IN NOW!!!

The answer is already obvious. He walks amongst us. He’s at the end of our nose. He doesn’t talk but we all still listen. He is never seen out of a black puffer jacket. He never smiles, favoring the look of deep thought. He can point at things nobody else can even see. He get’s through a thousand biro’s a week and carries a laminated piece of A4 cardboard like no other man on earth, what’s more, he has ingeniously invented a metallic spring loaded clip to keep his top secret footballing notes of wisdom in place on a windy day. Fellow wolfies, I give you our saviour….Terry ‘The Clipboard’ Connor.

BRING BACK MICK BEFORE WE GET MIKE BASSETT
Report abuse
I really fear for our clubs future. We should be more concerned with the fact that managers such as Curbishley are rejecting Morgans approaches on the basis of a lack of a shared vision.Morgan has his own agenda and it does not have our club at heart.Believe me, his own personal agenda will involve milking our club dry of many of its assets and selling eventually to the highest bidder. We are his pension plan.He needs to go ASAP.I for one will not spend another penny piece at the club while he is there.
What does “a lack of “shared vision”” mean then ?
Morgan wants us run as a successful Premier League Club on a Championship clubs budget?
Whereas Curbishley wants assurances he will get the proper funds to grow the team? (as he should)
This is not how to run a ‘business’ Mr Morgan. I think the fans will have something to say to you on Saturday from the terraces.
Lovely and sunny here ;-)

No regrets Mr Morgan? Should have listened to the rest of the board. Looks like TC for the rest of the season then.
Would love to know what curbishley meant by a lack of “shared vision” with the chairman. I’m pretty sure they should both be wanting for the club to move forward and move up the table… I hope Curbishley comes out and says what morgan’s vision is.
#laughingstock
Report abuse
Let’s see how Terry Connor does then! Will he continue in the same ways as Mick or will he make changes?
We must be the laughing stock of the Premier league!! What sort of owner & CEO sack a manager without having already been looking at replacements. They’ve had long enough (since Christmas at least)knowing that we needed a new manager & coach. We can only hope that a Wolves fan, with business sense, wins the euro lottery & buys the club from muppet Morgan & then replaces muppet Moxey. This football club needs a revamp from top to bottom or it’s going to go down faster than a prostitutes knickers!
If he wants a longer contract, why on Earth don’t we offer him one?
Steve Bruce it is then – if HE still wants it!
So what exactly is this ‘lack of shared vision’? Surely everyone wants to see us maintain and improve our premier league status. It must be done to lack of money and certainly lack of determination by the Wolves hierarchy!
Morgan needs to sell his visions for the club to Curbishley who is by far the best man available for the job.. Forget the rest we are only talking to them because Curbs turned us down…Sort it out.

Just shows that the fans are not muppets after all. If Morgan had listened to us at Christmas we would be in a very different situation. Somethings not right is it? Could job i read this was just about to put money on curbs!Just heard mickey mouse is next in line, surely he wont turn us down.At least i can keep my name if this is true! lol what a shambles!!!
Surely the fight against relegation requires someone with a bit of fire in their belly. The ever-lengthening delay seems to suggest we are not going to find that in any of the candidates that are getting interviewed or they would already be in place by now.
So sadly I am now resigned to the fact that Clipboardinho will be in charge against Newcastle and also that we are now almost certainly looking at Championship football next season.
8) I totally agree. What an absolute shambles! Moxey aka the Fat Controller wants to earn his money – a very fat salary – while he can. If we have only spent £12m in transfer fees – it might be only £8m – we have shortchanged the many loyal supporters.
We have a major dilemma, as Clipboard is holding the reins and we have Bruce as favourite and many of us do not want him. A big gamble but should we go for someone like Wilkins and Clark or even better, push the boat out for Hughton!
Show us the colour of your money Morgan
Show us your loyalty and ambition for Our Club.
Having Manager’s turn us down is getting embarrassing.
Continue doing what your doing and you will see your gate receipts deteriating.
I wonder how our earlybird sales are doing in
comparison to previous years ?
Wilkins or Poyet, go and pay for them, and stop doing all this on the cheap.

BSD. Hey, guys hang on.
We all stock, lock and barrelled the bullet into Mad Mick mangerial post. First we sack MM, and now we should do the same to Mad Moxey.
There are no suitable long term managers out there currently so lets just give 3 month contract to the ‘Bouncing Bruise’ or ‘Hole in the way’ – come on you knoe who I mean.
If we are looking at long term we should get a foreign manager in as thay are usually the best in the long term. British manager are good but they seem to be prised away by the bigger clubs.
Lets face it we are going to be relgated. Then we need plan now for automatic promotion from the Championship – Sir Morgan, my advice is always available to you and it’s free as usual.

Once again you were told, be careful what you wish for ?

this is turning into a right mess! new manager should have been appointed last friday with the intention to start training first thing monday morning, a full week with players! morgan and moxey have made themselves look like fools!
I think Dave Jones or Paul Ince should get 13 game contact as they know club, get to end of season and go from there with a new CEO.

As much as Mick McCarthy had run out of ideas and it was right to put him out to pasture,in fact you could say that he had at numerous points at his tenure, that has not solved the problem in general; Now it’s the time of Moxey and Morgan to come up-to the plate and deliver, they have been found wanting;Further more they are destroying what’s left of the clubs tattered reputation; Most fans realise MM was only part of the problem; If you put it in % terms let’s say 25-30%, SM, giving him the benefit of the doubt I would apportion the same %; But Mr Moxey has to take the bulk of the blame for the ridicule now being placed on WWFC, ie in the region of 40-50%; His lack of courage in taking the bull by the horns in removing the manager and his staff in June or on at least three possible occasions before that, compounded by the criminal lack of action from October onwards and then the panic measures and press spouting after the Albion game, show a man well out of his depth; My comment yesterday about Div 1,2,3 managers was meant as a joke, but it seems more and more likely; Mr Morgan. sack Moxey today and BEG Niall Quinn as CEO,to come in and save the club, long-term; Relegation is now assured after the farce of the last 10 days; It’s now a rudderless ship bearing down on Craggy Island with Admiral Stevie ‘larging’ it and Captain Jez ‘cra**in’ himself whilst hiding in the corner sucking his thumb, first mate TC stands like a nymph filling in his clipboard and ‘carry on’ Dr Daley is throwing up over the side with sea sickness!

This whole debacle smacks of poor preparation (forget the 2 M’s, anyone heard of the 6 P’s??), desperation and a reliance on luck / chance that we will get the right man in…..
No change of this calibre should be managed in such a haphazard and hopeful way.
The manner in which our club has conducted itself in the last week – going round and round the houses – each time more desperate for an appointment is an absolute sham, and further embarrassment for the fans after the mauling by WBA. If McCarthy went for that, Moxey and Morgan should be on their way by the same rules!

Imagine you are a potential manager sitting in the interviewee’s chair. You are told my Morgan and Moxey the following:
You will only be here for 3 months initially
You have peanuts to spend on new players
You have to work in the way we dictate
In Premiership terms your salary will equate to a shelf stacker in ASDA
You are not allowed to bring in your own personnel and must work with the muppets currently employed at the club.
And your response would be…?
I want to throw my hat into the ring, like McDermott, I have no Premier League experience, have never got a team promoted and I am quite cheap, this would appear to fit the changed criteria Wolves are looking for. Joking aside, I know he said he didn’t want to manage but I would let Jody see us through to the end of the season, he cannot be any worse than some of these jokers mentioned and at least he is respected and knows the club. Let’s face it, does anyone think we are staying up?.

A club, my club, with the history & potential to again becom one the biggest teams in the country is slowly looking like club with no idea what they’re doing…
We get rid of Mick with no clue as to who we want to fill his shoes, and big shoes they are, the most successful manager other than Graham Turner in my lifetime who sadly just couldn’t take us any further…
Morgan should have got rid at the end of 2011 giving a new manager the Jan transfer window to work with but no!!! Leaving us very much up the creak without a paddle…
It’s a great club with massive support all over the country, a club in a healthy financial position, a new stand almost up as part of a huge ground redevelopment & superb training facilities that are also set to get a facelift, a great job for whoever comes in…
So why the slow drawn out process??? I am starting to worry about the way the club is being run & concerned we’ve a problem behind the scenes somewhere, I hope to be proven wrong!!!
Now go and get Ray Wilkins in ASAP with Lee Clarke or Ince, perhaps even Zola or Vialli…
If not pay Brighton whatever they want for Gus Poyet & his team, would be money well spent as he will be a top manager in the not to distant future…
C’Mon Me Babbies & let’s get behind the boys at the weekend……

Up to now I have supported the 3M’s in what they were trying to do with OUR CLUB, but this is the last straw for me.
We have had everyone;s choice in AC, he could not agree on the way forward – others have been named in the press and rejected – SB is still out there presumably not feeling great about being everyones third choice.
I understand we need a Manager who understands and can work within the finacial plans for the club – so how does this even remotely equate to SB?
I has to be AC, or an up and coming Manager who understands how to coach and get the best out of the players… or change them!
Its going from bad to worse – and the games are going to slip by quickly.
Woeful wolves fan :(
Report abuse
Unfortunately it is not a Manager we need, it’s a YES man . . . to Morgan and Moxey. Can you blame Curbishley turning his back, he obviously has a plan to take Wolves to where he feels they should be, but there is no support from the Chairman and CEO. If only we could leave the Manager of Wolves to manage the team. So it looks like second or third choice Yes men. Looking forward, we will be in a similar position in five years time: fighting relegation or Championship football (and I am not getting any younger!!)
The longer this goes on the more embarassing it is getting.
the 2Ms are out of their depth here. They just need to decide who they think is the best man for the club and pay what they need to get their man.
If its Mcdermott, Poyet, then negotiate the compensation.
I still think Curbishley is the best candidate but he will only come on his own terms and will not fit into Morgans limited thinking. I think he wants assurances on where the club is going and the investment in players, not the stadium.
I think unlike Mick and the happy clappers, he knows we have some good players but a poor squad overall and it needs serious strenghening in the summer should he manage to keep us up.

We are a JOKE!!!!!! The board are a complete shambles and should be ashamed of themselves. And they have sent the early bird letters out while all this is going on??? I used to think we were a well run club, I am now losing faith in Morgan & Moxey.
Sacking Mick was a HUGE mistake which we will pay for now not only with relegation but it will probably take us years to recover, simply because the board want everything done on the cheap. Why would anyone of any note accept a job for 3 months?? I’d tell em where to go stick it as well. You either want them or you don’t.
The club I love is being dragged through the mud by these muppets (we’ll have a nice new empty stand though next season. EMBARASSMENT!!!)

I still think a lot of this is press speculation. Lets face it, no-one apart from the powers that be, have a clue what is going on. Newspapers have to print something.
As frustrating as all this is, the media frenzy around this should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Was Curbishley approached again?? The newspaper suggests “sources” as their basis for this. How reliable are they? We dont know who they are…………. so to be fair we are taking newspapers work on it which is, by trade, at times unreliable and over glammed.

Why on earth did they not have a preliminary manager list ready to use upon Mccarthy’s sacking? Crazy!
The fact that we are now being turned down by championship managers just tops it off. Sure we might be in the championship come next season, :(, but we are without doubt a bigger club than Reading!

1) We don’t appoint someone with hardly any experience, such as Zola.
2) We don’t appoint BRUCE!!!!

Oh Dear,
The “sack Mick” brigade are reaping what they have sown.
Sadly Mick’s position was in my view untenable, he had to go. The vehemence of the critics against him, the board and the players got out of control in the latter months of Mick’s reign.
There was no way in which the high level of morale necessary for survival could continue and sadly I felt, following the Liverpool he needed to step down.
I had warned that no one would want the job. Again, sadly, I think I have been proved right – or at least selection is proving difficult.
Where do we go from here? Firstly, we need to get behind the club. Stop the biting criticism of everyone in the club and start supporting it!
IMO I think we should leave the selection to the Board, they do have the best interests of the club at heart, they must be acutely aware of the predicament and I trust that they will make the best deceision based on the facts at their disposal.
If they do decide to appoint Steve Bruce, the negativity against him will have made his job that much more difficult. The same applies to the other candidates.
Let’s try to keep calm and be positive at a most difficult time and get behind our club for the remaining 13 games!!!

So, maybe it wasn’t a case of Mick has taken Wolves as far as he can.
Maybe it was more a case of Mick has taken Wolves as far as anybody possibly could, with the feeble support the board are willing to give.
It occurs to me that Mick was managing Wolves for the love of football and little else. Nobody wants to manage Wolves under the same, if not slightly better terms.
What a joke.
Just another point to add to the debacle:
I have been watching the premier league religiously now for about 7 years, as i’m only 19, and throughout all of the mid season sackings i have never known a club to look so unprepared as we do and take as long as we already have done. Shameful.
I think this dispels the idea that if the board had been more decisive earlier we could have had O’Neill or Hughes. As if!
For me, it simply reinforces my personal view that we had the right man all along and should never have got rid of him.
How can you offer a manager of Curbishley’s quality a 3 month contract? It’s an insult and i’m not surprised he turned it down. I understand that his vision differs from that of Steve Morgan. Well Mr Morgan, that current vision isn’t working and a fresh approach is what’s required. If you continue to do the same thing you’ll get the same result, it’s quite simple. At the moment it’s a case of what manager can we get thats better than Terry Connor until the end of the season instead of a long term prospect. I can’t help but think we’ve resigned to the fact that we could be championship bound and it’s a long term rebuilding plan. It’s a shame as last time I looked at the league table we were still in with a fight so lets show some M&M!!
Just a final point:
If Curbs wanted the job, what was said at that interview to put him off ending his 4 year exile from management? Does Morgan have a lack of ambition that we secretly don’t know about? Please reveal all Curbs! Very worrying.

What about Morgan and Moxey sharing “their vision” with the fans. Is it based on buying up more land for investment and development or focusing on the playing, coaching and scouting staff?
Why has the Wolves Managers job become a poison chalice?
Perhaps Messrs Morgan & Moxey you should consider these reasons:-
1. You have displayed a complete lack of insight & forward planning which beggars belief from two so called successful businessman.
2. You are not prepared to offer the going rate to attract the calibre of player / manager required to take Wolves to the next level (or indeed remain at this level).
3. You don’t appear prepared to commit to the new manager e.g. 3 month contract.
4. You have put the development of the ground, training facilities & academy before team development.
5. You have not been prepared to invest properly in new players instead opting for so called ‘young & hungry’ which should read cheap & untried.
6. You are two businessmen who have never played / managed / coached the game and can have absolutely no idea what makes a good football manager so how on earth are you going to make a measured decision when deciding who should be Wolves next manager?.
Take a long hard look at these facts Mr Morgan & Mr Moxey. As a season ticket holder for many years I am now despairing as to how low WWFC can sink under your poor misguided stewardship.
We need to see clear decisive action NOW before Wolves FC falls even further from grace.

Mick must be having a wry old smile at all this now. It’s pathetic.
Why would Curbishley risk his solid reputation on a 3 month contract? Especially when there’s no chance to bring in any players, a desperate 13 game scrap for survival and (presumably) a limited ambition in terms of moving the club forward afterwards.
Look, please can we stop the “Bruce not welcome here” business. Look at the alternatives. Bruce may not have a cool new breed of manager type image, but he has years of Premiership experience and is willing to take on the challenge with a 3 month deal. Fair play to him I say.
The hasty decision on the ski slope has been taken with no-one ready to come in. It’s done now so we have to make the best of it and make a decision now before the reputation of this club completely goes down the pan.

Why are we not willing to pay decent money or offer a good deal to get the right man in? We are saving pounds here and there, but the fact of the matter is that if we get relegated we will end up losing our best players and will have to start again costing us twice as much money.
There would be no point Morgan or Moxey coming out and saying that the we are run well and so we wouldnt have to sell if we went down. Fact of the matter is most of these players would not want to have a season in the Championship and no doubt we would see the likes of Jarvis, Fletcher, Hennessey and others wanting to leave when other clubs come sniffing about.
The whole scenario stinks of incompetence of the highest level, with no planning or consideration of who to appoint when Mick was sacked.

It’s a good job for Steve Morgan that he owns the club, because a chairman in a democratic concern would now be facing a vote of no confidence.
As for Jez Moxey he would have been relieved of further duties, and a consultant appointed to undertake the process of acquiring a new manager and chief executive.
I still believe MM had to go, the timing was hopelessly poor, but in the longer term it was for the best, but I can hardly believe the hierarchy hadn’t got their feelers out for his replacement. It could be they thought they had, that was until they showed the small print to candidates who fell over laughing before exiting the room.

Personally I think this is all guess work..Giving them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps they had they’re no1 target but have been impressed by other candidates.
Yesterday it was being touted Curbishley didn’t want a long term contract… today it’s he didn’t want a short term contract. This is a load of rubbish… People are reacting to speculation. Nobody knows anything yet!
As for Newcastle.. Perhaps the players can react and give us something to be proud of until the manager is announced.

Well, as a former “Happy Clapper,” my hands are sore, and my arms are aching.
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE. I agree that we should not spend, spend, spend, but we should have not tied the purse strings so tight that our outgoing manager could not compete on wages for players that would have made a difference. Curbishley has been given the same message, and told the two M’s where to go.
Where do we go now, apart from the Championship. There are two ways to fail financially. One is to spend too much. The other is to not get enough income. The balance has to be struck, and we were overbalanced in spending too little. We will now face the second option, as our income in the Championship will be much lower. People will vote with their feet, and the players will play in a less than full stadium.

This is getting crazy. It really shows that Wolves board had not contingency plan ready for such situations as this.. Most fans want Alan Curbishley, as this drags on, I can feel a lot of us becoming very disappointed if he does not come to us. I do not want I an Holloway, the guy does not believe in defence, he is just all out attack.. Exactly why we are in the problems we are in.. All out wing play and no solid midfield or protection for the defence. I wish people would get off Steve Bruce’s back. He is still a good manager. I would rather it be a 2 horse race between Bruce and Curbishley, than all these other names mentioned.
We are talking about the next Wolves manager, not the next clown to work in Mcdonalds.. We need someone who is calm tactical and inspiring. Someone who has experience at this level. We do not need an untried and tested manager. We are fighting relegation for God’s sake.

Gobsmacked!
Surely the only way to appoint a manager is to identify THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB, then go get him. Then without selling the club down the river, compromise to make sure you get your man!!!
That way, you generally end up with the guy that you identified in the first place and a guy feels wanted and will have the required support from upstairs to do a decent job.
One of the the key words here is COMPROMISE, which the hierarchy seem to have little of….so which half decent manager worth his salt would really willing to work under such a regime?
I also think that going around offering a 13 game contract with no ability to sign players and no guarentees beyond the end of the season is an utter insult!
We will as ever, end up with the cheap option NOT the best option, somebody who was way down the wish list…..probably somebody not good enough.
First time poster.
According to the host on WM phone in last night Curbishley was offered a two and a half year contract but HE only wanted to start with the 13 games then see where we are at the end of the season or what other jobs became available.
For what its worth, I still think he’s the best choice for the job so give him what he wants and if he keeps us up pay him handsomely to keep him here. We may have a decent future under him.
Failing that give the blues whatever they want for Chris Hughton.
Seems simple really.

It’s not just newspaper gossip, the BBC Sport website has the same story about Curbishley turning it down for 2nd time. So, whoever is appointed will know that they are not the club or fan’s first choice and will have to get over the hurdle of being second, third or lower choice. What utterly atrocious management.
I really do hope that Mick McCarthy is sitting somewhere warm with a drink in his hand and laughing himself silly at the appalling mess. If I were him I’d be glad to be away from this third-rate operation.

Now Mick has gone, maybe Steve Morgan needs to look at the jobs of others in the club. It was interesting article to see how WBA were guided and also monitored players and managers in an ongoing process.
Our CEO seems more interested in selling credit cards, energy deals and so forth that he has neglected the core subject, football and the fans. You cannot flog the above stuff to fans if the fan base is shrinking or disillusioned.
Mr Morgan, I know you are busy, but you must now need to look at the seemingly dated set up at Wolves. Yes you are a good man who has done loads for the community (lets not forget this) but at the moment the ship is rudderless. I don’t know what is going on behind closed doors, but the worse thing is not to make a decision, not whether it is right or wrong.
You must also use this opportunity to concentrate on football issues and bring the footballing infrastructure into this century and be open to new ideas. The more i see of this shambles the more i realise the constraints Mick has been working under. As for the manager, give it to Steve Bruce on a short term basis, or tell Terry he has it to the end of the season. Then whatever league, lets learn lessons and go through the place with a new broom.

3: “Due to this mess Moxey and Morgan should go” – Based on newspaper speculation?? Get real and get a grip. Oh no its been 9 days since we lost our former manager and they dont inform you of everything going on at every given time…………..
4: ” We only offered Curbishley a 3 month contract” – Who ever said that?? Is that official. No!

Dithering because of some fans negative reaction is hardly leadership is it? Instead his messing about is making us a laughing stock. Firing someone is easy, having the good sense to have a list of replacements, the willingness to pay for the right man and the strength to follow your convictions seems to be much harder.
The final insult will be when Steve Bruce turns it down because he’s been left hanging around with no contact for nearly a week.

Mr Morgan, ignore Jez and pay the asking rate, surely there must be some middle ground to work to a compromise. Seems a case of aiming for an unachievable ideology. There are so many names going around at the moment but how many of these people actually want the job…
Curbishley is a non runner, Bruce- See above, Brian McDermott has played us by the look of it, Lee Clarke- Think its pie in the sky,Steve Bull- No Chance he cant manage at a low level couldnt do a job in the prem, Poyet- Wolves dont rate him obviously, Wilkins- Hasnt been considered obviously!
Noone wants it and ive got a nasty nasty feeling they will employ Terry Connor till the end of the season…
The job is becoming a poisoned challice and the more people speculate that such and such is going to be the manager the more damaging its becoming… We are at a point where these guys who there “talking to” will think hang on im not first choice for this im 7th or 8th… Its not the thing to be doing.

Dear Messers Morgan and Moxey,
I would very much like to participate in your shared vision of just how you see the future on this once great club that we are mutually involved with, you as owner and CEO and me as a fully paid up punter.
For me this involves supporting a manager with backing and finance to take this club to the next level. With the following taken into consideration.
1) To make an informed decision to dispense with the managers services when not succeeding and not to make a knee jerk reaction to 25-30 supporters and not the 100′s as quoted in the press.
2)To go over budget IF required to bring in quality players if they become available ie Demba Ba and Cabaye now at Newcastle Utd. But at the same time not to bankrupt the club. have been around long enough to see the club nearly going to the wall twice.
3) If appointing a new managers allow said manager free reign to bring in his own time and give a realistic time in the post and to get the manager in place for the time originally promised.
As you can see I don’t expect much really. Just an understanding that the club is going forward.
But right now I feel that we are going backward, the new stand (very nice by the way) and new training academy (again will be good when built) are developing the club off the pitch.
You would like me as a punter to renew by the 16th by sending my renewal letter to me the VERY same week that we have our worst home derby result for 50 years!!!!! This must rank as one of the worst pieces of PR this club has ever done.
However failing to fulfil points 1-3 is very much not in my vision of the club and I am very seriously not considering renewing my season ticket for next year. Sad but very true.
Yours with much apathy,
A distressed Fordhouses Wolf

Have followed this story for a while, across the web sites and radio wm. I’ve learned all about clipboard TC and who are premiership players and who aren’t.
I used to work in what was the new stand when it was built, even John Richards testimonial and stood with the Albion fans and had bits of brick thrown at me. But overall I’m more interested in the politics that evolve in a club.
I can see why you wouldn’t want Bruce . I can’t see why you’d want Curbishley – his time has come and gone and I think he is probably holding out for a longer contract so if it all hits the fan he will get a big pay out. We all thought Blues would be dead and buried this year after selling all their players, but they gambled on a younger manager and it payed off. While the Hun took an established Premier manager and they’ve bored their fans to death! Perhaps the Wolves should take a gamble on Ian Holloway or Ray Wilkins . Your not down yet and Many of the fans I spoke to said for twenty minutes against the Villa you were great. Give someone with a footballing brain, someone creative, get the ball on the grass.
I work in education and we use children as part of the appointment process for senior staff . It’s about time that football clubs introduced this facility when appointing managers. Then fans get people they think are right for the club and you mitigate the influence of tight- wads like Moxey.
Anyway, thanks for your thoughts. I hope you sort out a manager who encourages quality football and keeps you in the Premiership. Football is important in the Black Country and we’ve all been on the downside .

As this farce rumbles on, I agree with a number of posts on here. Moxey needs to take a long hard look at himself and wonder why we’re in such a mess – Morgan has undoubtedly trusted his judgement and let him get on with running the day to day business of the club. Stoke got rid of him. allegedly, because he was not a risk taker and preferred comfort rather than the stresses of pushing a club on. Oh, sounds like us now. Moxey wants a yes man, as he did with Mick and as he has in Clipboard. And Moxey is a yes man to Morgan, although perhaps he has been telling him more of what he thinks he wants to hear as opposed to the truth. I’ll say it again – we haven’t progressed one iota in two and a half years in this division. Morgan – get rid of that fool of a CEO we have and get your old Liverpool mate in. Let’s put the word “ambition” back in the Molineux dictionary. If Jez can’t stand the heat, then he can drive himself and Clipboard down to the Job Centre on all Wolves fans’ behalf.
This whole mess has purely and simply uncovered that the biggest problems at this club are off the field. Only one bloke is ultimately responsible for that.
As far as the new manager goes, there is no option. I don’t like Bruce, I’m not convinced by his history and I’m not sure he is good enough to save us. But who else is actually interested in working with Jez and TC??

All,
Remind me who the nr 1 Target is?
1.He’s out there
2.Presumably under the circumstances there is no compensation
3.Time is ticking on, soon only 12 matches.
4. How much is the nr 1 Target wanted?
Reality is he is not, as the M+M do not know.
A complete Cock up.
I am out with some WBA friends this weekend, how embarrassing, with the Baggies being lauded for how well they are run, and how they conduct themselves.
Wolves appear to have the arrogance of a big club ie M+M and the fans approach, but look very foolish in reality.

I think the most important thing to come out of the last few days is the fact that Morgan’s and Curbishley’s visions of WWFC’s future were miles apart. On the assumption Curbishley would be looking to establish us in the premiership, the mind really boggles as to what Morgan is up to.

Morgan & Moxey’s reputation as muppets could destroy a once great club. It is all very sad to see.

I love all the free business advice being given out to Steve Morgan. How many are qualified to offer it? If anyone wanted to run Wolves the offer was there, all they needed to do was contribute £30m to a trust and convince Sir Jack that that they would be a good custodian of the club. Surely with all this amazing business advise on offer there were plenty of posters on this site who had run successful business that had generated the required £30m spare to invest… No? I’m surprised.
Personally I am relatively happy with the direction of the club over the past 4 years. The timing of the sacking of MM was clearly a difficult decision, not one I agree with, but there were a lot of posters on here were calling for his head almost every week. I think the honest approach of not directly consulting with candidates before sacking MM deserves commendation not criticising.
Like most I would love to know the details of the difference of opinion between Steve Morgan and Curbishley but until we do find out, being critical of either party is pointless. I wonder if we would have had the same problem with O’Neil if he had been still available…
Until an appointment is made I am going to reserve judgement.

Ive tried to stay positive and commented today that this is all press speculation. However 2 things not great, is the complete silence of the club allowing supporters to get this impression of whats going on, and also the negative energy now that is spreading through the fan base like wild fire.

To further point out that the Wolves board don’t have a clue whats going on is that when they sacked MM they should have known who they wanted to replace him, it was only after the sacking that Curbs came out the wood work saying he was up for it. If Curbs hadn’t have thrown his hat in at that point then what was the plan from M&M ? and why haven’t they gone after him… or have they? it’s just that they didn’t expect the reaction of the fans towards Bruce. This also shows how out of touch they are with there loyal fans.
This is how I think in panned out:
Plan A = Get Bruce in.
Plan B = Get Warnock in.
Bonus plan C falls in laps of M&M = Curbs wants in.
While trying to get Plans C&A Plan B goes to Leeds.
Plan C Walks so that leaves Plan A only M&M did expect the fans reaction to Plan A.
They try back tracking and get Plan C only to be told No again…
Plan A has no better offers from other clubs so is happy to wait on M&M.
M&M think… let the dust settle for a few days and we’ll appoint Plan A at the end of the week when the fans realise we tried our best but Plan A was the best candidat.
Bruce will be appointed by the end of the week.

Mick had to go,the performances were getting worse and worse and relegation seemed inevitable.I’m sure that Steve Morgan was as surprised as the rest of us that the team was performing so badly. He had not expected to have to change the Manager at this stage in the season but was left with no choice, this explains why no contingency plans were in place.I believe that the Manager is the most important position at the club and we should not be panicked into employing someone who is not good enough(this applies to most of the names currently in the frame). If neccessary we should continue with Terry O’Connor-he wont do any worse than Mick.

Enough is enough M&M …… Dave Jones has clearly stated he would like the job, he knows how Jez works, has also worked with Roger Johnson at Cardiff (this could be a big boost for Johnson’s much needed confidence), many of the staff remaining at the club have also worked with Dave before, they say never go back to a Club, but on this occasion it could a quick transition for a much needed results purpose. Any manager with a ounce of confidence must have looked at our remaining fixtures and quite clearly seen we have to play many of the teams around us, so its a situation where if Dave Jones clearly wants the job why not give a whirl, he feels he was hung out to dry by Sir Jack Hayward when he last took them into the Premier League and feels he has unfinished business. COME ON WHAT HAVE WE GOT TO LOOSE NOW!!!! BRING BACK DAVE JONES

I am not a supporter of Wolves being from up-north but I have been following this saga over the past week. A week in which two Championship clubs have sacked and hired new managers. Obviously the directors of these clubs had been monitoring the situation at the clubs and acted decisevley to rectify the problem. No such thought at Wolves. Moxley spoke of second interviews about to take place, then a new batch of candidates appear, Poyet, McDermot. Someone going round in circles with no ideas. The Manager Wolves get will be not what the club or the fans require but one who will satisfy the lack of ambition of the 2M’s.
Another point; why build a new stand (not really needed) but not put money into team building, instead of having to do with other teams rejects.

whilst the real decision to get rid of MM was Steve Morgans. JM as the ceo should have had constantly updated options at hand. Especially when we moved up to Premier League.
It is clear that whichever league we are in next season. There will have to be a clear out of players that are not good enough and have been proven so.
We will also lose 2 or 3 of the crown jewells if down so that has got to be in the planning.
On recent form. There will be a number of players not required who no one will want, so recruitment in quality and not quantity will need to be the way we go.
I would like Curbishly or Gus Poyet (with Ray Wilkins). You will have to commit to their requirements but is likely to reap rewards on and off the pitch (including the balance sheet £)

I can only think that curbishley wanted funds to strengthen in the summer if he kept us up and morgan wasnt willing to meet his demands. We cant keep doing it on the cheap and expect results, we dont have the coaches to get the best out of players and we wont pay the wages to attract top players, its a joke.
I just dont know what is going on in morgans head, why wasnt mick sacked in time for someone to sign players in january? Or was that the reason for not sacking him then?

I agree with both Tom 183 and Nailsea 190.It is also imperative not to be rushed into the wrong decision, solely because a number of ‘fans’ are becoming increasingly vociferous and critical – we could all regret the wrong appointment for a very long time.
Better TC for one more game than a’Repent at leisure job’.The players may yet surprise us.
It’s pointless calling for the ‘Return of Mick’- such comments are not in the real world and anyway it wouldn’t work and will never happen.
In business, everything does not always run smoothly and maybe Steve Morgan’s character and approach will not fit with a number of potential candidates.(One sticking point with Curbishley may have been the size of the ‘Warchest’ in the close season?)
These things can take time to sort out – so I would suggest ‘Don’t panic’ and don’t get too negative. It can’t be easy and its SM’s first appointment, so don’t be too quick to condemn him, before he has even arrived at a decision.
My two pennyworth anyway.

Yes, it’s embarrasing and yes, it seems like it’s becoming a farce. But don’t get drawn in to press speculation, they’ve not got our interests at heart have they? We simply do not have facts on which to base our opinions here, and I understand that can lead to frustration and anger but remember that many of you posting on here were calling for Mick to go and decrying the board for lack of action. “Be careful what you wish for”. If they hadn’t sacked him after the Albion result, they would have been slaughtered for not taking any action. I, for one, think that it’s quite refreshing that they hadn’t lined someone up before that result and shows some integrity. And we don’t know details of prospective managers demands, do we? They don’t come cheap, even those who have been out of work for several years. And, finally, consider this: Is the level of hate given to our managers and board a factor in people not wanting the job? Look to yourselves.

Well its beginning to look like Bruce is the only one prepared to take the job on for 12 games. I say 12 games because its surely to late now to get a manager in before Saturday to prepare the team. I just had a gut feeling that this was going to end in bitter disappointment. MM must be laughing his head off now, I for one wanted him out, but before the January window, his sacking is proving to be just what it was a knee jerk reaction from a CEO and (disgracefully, because what was our biggest game of the season he missed and goes skiing for) absent Chairman. If Curbishley who knows a thing or to about football can’t agree with the Chairman about the way forwards, then as well as looking for a new manager, lets hope we get a new owner soon as well, because clearly Morgan is only interested in bricks and mortar.

Lets give Bruce a little more credit and give him a shot at the job. He’s willing to come here and just to the end of the season. If he fails to secure our position in EPL then he goes. What was the point in getting rid of Mick if we’re not going to replace him with anyone better? Someone earlier states:
“It’s pointless calling for the ‘Return of Mick’- such comments are not in the real world and anyway it wouldn’t work and will never happen.”
Stranger things have happened – look at the last 8-9 days and the many calls for Mick’s return
Next home game – Turn your backs and make no noise at all for 1 half to register disgust at M and M handling of Mick’s knee jerk dismissal(not lost as someone says!). Though Morgan may be away again, he may need to take the water at Lourdes for his sins.
The bottle will stand up to the plate. Credentials – watched many Premiership games, knows the tactics of Arsene, been abused by managers and fans though a little wet around the neck. I am cheap and cheerful, refreshing, resistant to decay, keep my head above water, occasionally get screwed by others but I always come back with more.
M and M – swallow hard what the bottle provides AND get Mick’s hand back on the flow at Wolves.

Ok so let’s sum it up! We don’t truly know what goes on behind the scenes but I truly am upset that the board have clearly not thought this through.
I appreciate what mick had done for us and will have fond memories of his six year rein.
So upset with who we have in charge of running the club it’s quite apparent that they are happy mulling at the bottom of the table with great financial gain and little expenditure on wages.
To me it’s pretty obvious that mick has gone maybe attentions are going to be getting the board out. Right thing? I don’t know! Only time will tell.
The money we have spent is what’s recognised as a decent amount for a promotion push. Not looking to advance up the table.

Look guys, I don’t think its too much to ask that Morgan comes out and explains what his differences with Alan Curbishley’s views on the vision of our club. I personally want to hear what the candidates plans are for bringing through our academy players into the first team. We cannot keep spending money which we have’nt got on big name rubbish players.

I commented several times about the competence of Jez Moxey – and if we look back at a previous manager – dare I say the words Glenn Hoddle – Jez Moxey was guilty back then of not acting to rid us of Mr Hoddle but chose to dither and wait – and we ended up in a mess at that time – That wasnt simply down to Mr Hoddle – as imv Moxey was guilty of incompetence – simple as
Again now – when results are clearly lacking we look to blame the manager straightaway – No one seems to want to look closely at the ‘bigger picture’ or this new ‘shared vision’ of the club???
What exactly does this mean??? Is this the ‘Young & Hungry’ that Moxey spins like a top? Or is it purely a very limited budget that doesnt afford Wolves a Prem Proven Spine of a team???
One of the questions I would like to have answered is regards the backroom staff – Terry Connor & Co – TC has never been sacked? whilst Manager after Manager have come and gone – this man has never been a casualty in any campaign? Our Goalkeeping coach – Who is he??? (Another cheap recruit?) Tony Daley (A Fitness Coach? – says it all)
Imv we have always needed a good Prem capable coach – Stoke have Gerry Francis etc etc No offence intended to any of the above BUT in reality we have very little in the backroom that shouts ‘Premiership Quality’ More like just passed and that will do at that price
Maybe if Mr Moxey had done his job competently we would have far better backroom staff (Premiership standard) and a Manager already in place
I for one am not surprised that Mr Curbishley has turned us down TWICE – Who in their right mind would accept the task on the less than shoestring budgets???
There’s a clue in the name of the league Messrs Moxey and Morgan ‘Premiership’ The men behind the scenes are more than guilty of a lack of care and attention imv How can a CEO just sit back and watch as the club spirals and meanders with no leadership AGAIN Mr Moxey did this when Hoddle was here and then when Hoddle jumped ship he was more than happy for the gullable amongst us to blame Hoddle and then there was Mick McCarthy – who imv without a replacement manager to step in should not have been dismissed
My guess is that Curbishley couldnt see any progress without better investment and if I remember correctly that was why he left Charlton as he felt he had taken them as far as he could but his board didnt want to invest to take Charlton to that next level
A New CEO Manager Coach and Backroom Staff are long Overdue imv
Up the Wolves!

You know what amazes me is this bunch of business men think they can run a football club as a business. I suggest you speak to Alan Sugar, he tried it, it don’t work. Football is a hobby, an ego trip for very rich people until your team hits the heights. The most important man is not the CEO or the chairman its the manager and you should be paying top dollar to bring that man in and supporting him in every way.

TOLD YOU ONCE..TOLD YOU TWICE..
IT’S GLEN ROEDER WITH PAUL INCE AS NO 2…..
Moxey not keen on Bruce’s record and they didn’t aproach Reading for McDermott either, just had a nosey at how long he,Poyet and Holloway have on contracts. They were all Plan B for next season if it went wrong..
Houghton first choice all along and they enquired but he does not want job..yet…if Blues stay down he will be at Wolves next year regardless of what league they in due to continous problems with Young the chairman and the financial restraints.
Curbishley wanted 2 and a half contract but Moxey felt that Houghton,Holloway,Poyet or McDermott would be more knowledgable of championship if they went down than Curbs!
Make Sense??? It will trust me..ROEDER AND INCE till May then Houghton….

At least we know now the Wolves PR team do read these posts and our opinions get through to the people who matter.
Only problem is, all those so-called Wolves fans who spit their bile and get the rest of us a bad name are being listened to as well.
I think our current stalemate shows where the problems lay before MM went. He put up with penny-pinching executives and took the brunt of the resulting performances from championship players for three seasons. Clearly, nobody else would do it. That’s why we’re still waiting…
Come on, boys, at The Toon. We have to get behind the team like never before. UTMW.

how difficult can it be for you two jokers (morgan and moxey) to appoint a manager with premiership experience, who to my recollection has never been sacked from either clubs he’s been at,a man who knows how to keep clubs up and in the top 10 or higher and as at charlton they were relegated and came up as champions and were well established under his leadership,he also kept west ham up against the odds and only left after being undermined by the board when they sold players he didn’t wat to lose SO YES ITS CURBISHLEY!THE ONLY SERIOUS CONTENDER FOR THE JOB,the man with the right credentials right under your big noses,so its simple, offer him an offer he can’t refuse, stop the penny pinching,OFFERING PETTY 3 MONTH DEALS, going after the cheap championship unproven managers or bruce who may i add blew a big hole in sunderlands bank balance and they were still struggling under his leadership, any of the others for me would be a step backwards from mick mcarthy.so come on men get it sorted we dont have much time.failing that what about KEVIN KEEGAN?I’M SURE HE COULD GET OUR ATTACKING PLAYERS GOING AGAIN

The whole farce has now made Wolves a laughing stock.
Moxey has presided over so many poor managerial appointments that it is now apparent to most thinking people that HE is the problem in this club.
Moxey’s philosophy can ensure that a club makes money, but the fans will only suffer the agonies of fighting for survival. He calls it Wolves DNA, but that stands for “Dough Not Available” and that spells disaster in the Premiership.
Moxey has to be replaced by someone with footballing acumen and not just an accountants ledger approach.

OK, OK, despite a few reservations I will do it but I am not making any promises about avoiding the drop as I am afraid Mr Morgan and Moxey have left it rather late in the day to play this rather inane two chair version of postmans knock….
Also while I agree to an initial 13 game contract I would rather bring my wife as assistant coach as I feel clipboard has missed the bus.
In all seriousness I expect an answer no later than the day before yesterday or the whole thing is off

215 – nice try but you’re clearly trying to mask the embarrassment that this club has become. Talk about trying to polish a t*rd. similar to the pathetic attempts over the last few years to convince the fans that we’d rejected players. Oh yes, we turned them down and they went to Wigan for the money. Oh yes, Rojer Johnson joined us over a multitude of other interested parties who d idn’t see how decidedly average we are.
Laughing stock…

Steve Bruce had his own Moxet problem at Sunderland, he had Niall Quinn! O’Neil has won that battle and Quinn has now resigned.
Bruce is a fighter, and he is the best we have available but he is walking into the Moxey minefield.
No money must be spent that affects Moxey’s bonuses! Moxey is a multi-millionaire on the back of exploiting the fans at Wolves, he is not going to let his income stream dry up to satisfy the smelly hordes called fans. He will spin the situation and as usual will survive and keep on going and making even more money!

Roy dewolf (237) = SPOT ON!!! Glad I’m not the only one who knows these stats, there is only 1 bloke out there who we want, who we need, who Morgan labelled as “the right calibre”, so why oh why oh why don’t the idiot sign him up and give him what he needs? If this don’t happen then he obviously don’t want the club to progress, so with that in mind I’m glad the club sent out early bird at the worst possible time, cuz I know what I’m doing with mine!

215 Mick
Interesting post, thought provoking, written like a Board Member even, BUT hang on a minute don’t blame us fans that travel miles and spend our hard earned cash on this club for being passionate. It is us numpties/rebel rousers that have seen all these problems coming and an inept leadership at Wolves, out of touch and disengaged that has caused these problems. Mick is the worst ever EPL Mgr, his record spoke for itself BUT the Board stuck with him when it was clear he could take us no further, it was the same board that squandered £18m on that oh so wonderful news stand that WE did not want. And the same board that sacked Mick without a contingency and at a stupid time. So my friends, yes, we should all look at ourselves BUT it the Leadership of this Club that has to take most responsibility for this situation. A well run club is:
1) Successful on the field (unlike us)
2) Financially sound (questionable now we have spent £18m on stand)
3) Engages and includes fans (please share your vision with us because the message is inept cheapskates)
It’s also the press and national radio that have slated Wolves and that does not make me feel proud….so Board Members and JEZ Moxey LOOK AT YOURSELVES, before blaming US!!!

What a shambles and a disgrace. Like I said there is only one candidate for me. Just look what happened to charlton when he left! The decision is sooooooo easy and should have been done last week! Why do successful, intelligent men loose all common sense when it comes to football?
I suppose the answer is ask Steve Morgan.
Fired a Manager as knee jerk reaction without having a replacement lined up; you would do that as a business man replacing a company MD? Thought not.
Set out the criteria for a replacement, changed it and changed back again as a result of fan pressure to names in the media. Presumably the business pages of the national press dictate Morgan’s company board appointments. No? Surely not.
Whilst there is an argument to suggest that it was time for Mick to go, the timing was daft. Before, with a transfer window open or in the close season would have made much more sense. At least have the cojones to admit you screwed up and you get some credit for that.
As for going forward, have the courage of your convictions, if you think it should be Steve Bruce (only on short term appointment in my view)then employ him. If not employ who you think is best suited for the job of avoiding relegation and don’t bow to fan pressure.
Big boys games, big boys rules!

Thanks for your reply Sue, Us females have to stick together. Yes they would but they would anyway Wilkins and Connor, my point get rid of Connor and replace with Clark. Ray Wilkins I think would be a good bet, but we will see. All I know is that it is a mess at the moment.

Sue Last time I looked I was female. Thanks for the inside info on Grace. Wished I could win the lottery and I would step in.
I think it was the wrong decision and the wrong time to sack MM but some fans forced the issue. I am sorry to see him go and I will probably get shot down for that too.
Imo I think that if we go down into the Championship and that is not done and dusted as yet, we will lose our key players and everything Mick has worked for over the last five years will have been all for nothing, but that is my opinion, but I am a female what do I know.
Hope we go to Newcastle and beat them cause at the moment I think we are the laughing stock of the Premiership and it needs the Lads to stick their fingers up and do their talking on the pitch which incidentally, I think they are quite capable of doing.
