Ray Wilkins today threw his hat into the ring for the vacant Wolves manager's job.

The former Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan midfielder said: "I believe there has been a bit of name-searching for the Wolves job and it would be lovely."

Wilkins, who was said to have turned down the chance to succeed Graham Taylor at Wolves when he was QPR boss in 1995, has been out of work since leaving his post as Chelsea No. 2 in 2010.

The former England international is a fans' favourite at Molineux, while Lee Clark is among other outside names in the frame.
