Time to map out a plan for Villa's future
- Says blogger Matthew Turvey
Wolves 0 Liverpool 3
Tuesday 31st January 2012, 9:44PM GMT.
Wolves were punished for lapses in concentration as goals from Andy Carroll, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt helped Liverpool stroll to a comfortable victory at Molineux, writes Timothy Abraham.
Eggert Jonsson switched off at the back post to allow Carroll to open the scoring five minutes in the second half as the £35m striker latched on to Charlie Adam’s cross.
Bellamy doubled the lead in the 61st minute when he curled the ball past Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey as the home defence backed off and Kuyt scored on the counter attack 12 minutes from time to wrap up Liverpool’s first Premier League win of 2012.
Mick McCarthy made one change from the Wolves team which lost to Aston Villa last time out as Jonsson came into the centre of midfield for the suspended Karl Henry.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish made five changes from the team which knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup as he took the decision to rest skipper Steven Gerrard.
Glen Johnson, Jay Spearing, Charlie Adam, Bellamy and Kuyt were all recalled with Martin Kelly, Stewart Downing and Jamie Carragher dropped to the bench while Maxi Rodriguez was left out completely.
Liverpool created an opening in the third minute when Bellamy’s cross from the left was flicked on by Carroll into the path of Kuyt inside the six-yard box, but the Dutch striker was unable to control a difficult ball.
Wolves best early chance came in the 12th minute when Kevin Foley delivered a dangerous curling ball from the right but Dave Edwards failed to make clean contact with shot which went straight into the arms of Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina.
Edwards headed high and wide from an unmarked position three minutes later when he was picked out by Michael Kightly’s free-kick as Wolves responded to Liverpool’s positive early intent.
Jordan Henderson slid a perfectly-weighted pass for Bellamy to run on to in the 20th minute but the Foley got across to nudge the Wales international off the ball which allowed Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to come off his line and gather.
The Wolves keeper made a smart save shortly afterwards when Bellamy whipped in a corner and Daniel Agger climbed highest only to see his goal-bound header parried to safety.
Liverpool began to turn up the heat on Wolves and felt they were denied a penalty in the 36th minute when Emmanuel Frimpong appeared to nudge Adam from behind but referee Anthony Taylor waved away the appeals.
The lively Bellamy forced Wales compatriot Hennessey to make a diving save to his left shortly before half-time while Kightly saw his shot from the edge of the box whistle past the post after a neat one-two with Fletcher.
Liverpool seized the initiative after the interval when they took the lead through Carroll in the 52nd minute after the visitors caught the Wolves defence off guard.
Bellamy took a quick throw-in near the 18-yard box and Adam whipped an inch-perfect cross from the left which found Carroll, who escaped the attentions of Jonsson, and drilled a low shot past Hennessey.
Liverpool added a second nine minutes later when Bellamy cut inside from the left and took the shooting opportunity afforded to him as the Wolves defence backed off.
Bellamy curled a low shot from just outside the box into the bottom-left corner which Hennessey got a hand to but was unable to prevent it from going in the net.
Dalglish’s side were now firmly in control and Kuyt forced Hennessey to tip a rasping shot over the bar shortly after with a well-struck shot from the edge of the box.
The Dutch forward had his goal in the 78th minute though as Liverpool punished Wolves on the counter attack started by a crossfield pass from Enrique.
Kuyt exchanged passed with Adam before he smashed a low shot across goal and past the despairing dive of Hennessey into the corner of the net.
Wolves supporters jeered their own players before they finally saw a second-half attempt on goal late on when substitute Sylvan Ebanks-Blake’s long-range effort hit the woodwork.

ANOTHER DISGRASE TIME TO GET RID OF THE THREE M,S MICK,MOXEY AND CONNER.
we love our club! so when is enough enough?
What did we really expect, been rubbish all season and tonights second half as with Villa second half just sums us up.
Rubbish. Players seemed uninterested.
McCarthy out, but its now to late. He looked a beaten man tonight.
anybody but mccarthy

1 shot on goal in first half, no shots on goal second half, no zip to passing, no creatiity other than pongy. Terrible second half performance – whatever went on in dressing room at half time back fired big style – no choice now other than a change of manager – the club has been more than patient. thanks mick and good luck with your next club……
Report abuse
Well that’s just about it. Nowt left to say.!!! :-(((

Lets face Wolves are not good enough. You get what you deserve. What do you expect when the idiots running this club try to run it on a shoestring.I got the feeling that the Villa defeat was ‘the straw that broke the camel’s back’.We’re in danger of disintegrating. Then when we go backl into the Championship, the team will be asset-stripped and we have to start all over again. There is the danger that we could fall into a tailspin.Darl days ahead i feel.
Come on then happy clappers.
Reasons to be Chearfull?????
another deadline day same old dissapointment, followed up by a game that justifies what we have been saying for months. Mick out mick out mick out.
seen people critisized on here for suggesting martin o’neil. well i would rather be sunderland at the moment. so annoyed premiership status surrendered without a fight.
Complete joke of a team! I have given up on caring about this bunch of mugs!
Please Morgan get rid!
Roy Keane please – he will sort this lot out!
Is there any way back from this? I truly hope so but I have grave doubts. Surely the Molineux hierarchy will now admit that an immediate change of management is required if Premier League survival is sought.
There are a number of quality professionals in that squad that can do loads better. Admit it all! we are very very busy fools. Coach in quality and it makes the difference.
Inept defending, inept goalkeeping, one attempt on target in 90 minutes at home, but don’t worry…………..
Dave Edwards was right when he said “we wouldn’t settle for a draw”
MM says that “all our players are playing to their potential”
MM says that “I’m still believing in the same group of players and getting the best out of them, and that’s what myself and Terry will carry on doing”
MM also said “All I can do is make us better, harder to beat and more competitive. I tend to be happy with my lot, and get on with it”
So don’t worry, MM is happy with the squad…………in other words………..it doesn’t get any better than this!!
Here we go again,the same old story,can’t defend,can’t score,can’t keep a clean sheet,can’t get a point,blah,blah,blah.
Never mind, let all the happy clappers keep wasting their time and money.
WAKE UP,SMELL THE COFFEE,STAY AWAY-THEN SOMEBODY WILL GET THE MESSAGE.
MORGAN OUT
MOXEY OUT
McCARTHY OUT
WHAT A DISGRACE

With just under an hour to go for the deadline I am sure lots of players will be wanting to come to the Mol now.
Lets face it Mick needs to go we have stayed in the Prem by the skin of our teeth the last couple of years and we havent got any quality in so what do we expect.
TIME FOR CHANGE MORGAN DO THE RIGHT THING.
Just dont know who to bring in maybe Curbs he can keep a team up when in the scrap imo cant be any worse – 1 shot on goal all game sums it up.

Quick…put in a £1m bid for Keogh……!!!!!! Where the hell is the quality????????

What a joke !!!!
Totally out played at home. Why didn’t we attack why didn’t mm try to win the game rather than sitting back and playing hoof ball. He’s turned us into a laughing stock even Wigan and blackburn play better football than us SHOCKING!

Week after week we’re served up cringeworthy crap like
- Nenad Milijas: Wolves can upset Reds
- Kevin Foley looking to foil rampant Reds
Spin, spin, spin. Who sets them up to do this, when the action on the pitch is so embarrassingly poor.
We’ve spent the money and teams with no more talent or resources outplay us consistently.
It’s past time for McCarthy to go. He’s doing for Wolves what Gordon Brown did for the last Labour government, and like Gordy, he refuses to leave the building even after he’s been voted out by the electorate.
A joke from top to bottom, 3 Ms hold your heads in shame.
same old defensive mistakes, mick has FAILED to sort the back four out and has had more than enough time to do it.
Far too many sub standard player, sick of saying it. Eggert is useless.
Were doomed unless we sack him and give someone else a chance. he should of been sacked after last season or earlier this season. a new manager wont have the chance to sign players but we desperately need fresh ideas.
If anyone defends the 3 M’s they want shooting. We’re past embarrasing, i dont have the words. We simply cannot defend. No one signed, players leaving…. Am in dispair….

Mick today you said you had great players and you were happy with your squad,so it must be your fault were in the bottom 2.Do the decent thing and resign because you are becoming a joke with your comments and team selections, once again at home playing 1 upfront!

We just are not in the same league as most of the teams here…better off in the Championship where at least we can win some games….is that not so Mr Morgan cos that is where we are heading !! (65 year old frustrated fan !!!)

there are 3 simple elements to football
1.defending
2.creating chances
3.scoring goals
unfortunatly mccarthy has created a team that cant do any of these. suprising to many including me how west bromwich albion can spend so little money compared to our own and be a far superior football side.
the questions that need answering are.
1.why do we not pay wages
2.why have we paid 16million on a new stand when we couldnt fill the old stadium
3.why have we not signed premier league players
4. why have we still, after 3 premiership years, got a championship team with championship rated players
5.why cant we play attractive football
6.why do fans get blamed for voicing their opinions
3 problems with wolverhampton wanderers atm. morgan, moxey and mccarthy
Report abuse
Absolute disgrace. Liverpool 14 shots on goal, Wolves 1 – who was the home team??? Second game in a row where a good or battling first half has been thrown away by mistakes and poor performances in the second… It was time for Mick to go months ago, now it’s too late to save our place in this league as the best available managers are gone and the transfer window slams shut with little to show. I don’t believe in booing my team, but how else are we supposed to express our frustration with this rubbish?
Sorry but another thing, we have supposed to have built a squad of young and hungry pro’s that go out there week in and week out giving their all, all of them putting in a tremendous shift for the club??????? As far as i could see there was only 2 players on that team that fought for the cause pongy (not even a wolves player) and kites. Any other walk of life any other type of work and all of them would have their bloody P45′s in the post 1st thing. If this is the shape of things to come then play the youth team from now on with the above mentioned players. That way at least the crowd would back them. As it is with these utter drivel performances and excuses both on and off the pitch the club is being torn appart. We are in danger of loosing the support of our younger fans, ! by watching dreadful football and 2 in the response(understandably) from the crowd. Mr Morgan you may be the owner but you have responsibility to run it for the best interests of the club. If you truely want to make Wolves anything like your beloved Liverpool then start acting like you would if you owned them and shake the club by its coat tails untill it works.
Please please please do something positive and give us some indication that you actually give a dam.
And lastly to all of you at the E&S you also have a responsibility to put pressure on the club, you as the local press can have absolutly no excuse to remain neutral in all of this just look back to your headling from the batty days and see what it was like, you can be a loyal wolves supporter and not agree with whats going on

Think it’s over. Mick needs to go before the club implodes, he has been let down by the owner, no point blaming Jez, he just follows a budget. Still can’t see anyone who we can bring in who would be any good and want to come though.
Looks like we’re doomed and the next 2 games will confirm that.Keith Andrews to score anyone?
One consolation,we’ll have the best(half empty)ground in the Championship.
Pathetic! Muppet Mick out but question for Morgan, where’s the ambition?
Why aren’t we going for the following players?
Zamora for 4mill.
Darren Gibson for 3million
Ravel Morrison for 3million
Cisse for 4.2 million.
There are many more options but moxey too worried about his bonus to spend money on wages. Investment is required if we want to stay a premier club. Mick thinks his team is good enough, he should be sacked just for that!
Over and out!

Who cares any more?
Wolves forever, McCarthy NEVER!
That’s the earliest I have ever left a Wolves match.Dreadful performance from minute one. Apart from Frimpong (who is not even our player) and Fletcher they were clueless and pedestrian in possession. Foley,Ward and Kightly took it in turns to pas the ball to a Liverpool player whilst Jarvis and Edwards ran around like headless chickens……and as for Jonsson – what can you say except that he looks like a Scottish League player!
That is the easiest 3 points Liverpool will get all season. This is the lowest I’ve felt for a number of seasons and the lack of serious activity in the transfer window has sealed our fate! Let’s hope the Bassong ruumour is correct but too little too late!
Eatly Bird?? You’re having a laugh!

The board and senior management should review their entire strategy for the club. The lack of investment in a quality squad (its not just about money but also spotting talent) is beginning to show and the complacency around the place is shocking. The fans to be fair have supported the team but are now starting to lose their belief in the board as well as the manager.
well done morgan & moxey your penny pinching as just about put the final nail in the coffin . we are a total and utter shambles on & off the pitch . we are down this season so you can look at your new stadium in the championship. morgan calls himself a business man ha dont make me laugh he would rather build a stadium than build a team to compete in the epl. mccarthy your out of your depth and you should of been gone months ago and take clipboard with ya. rubbish against liverpool again were becoming a laughing stock. so morgan jump on the coaches with scousers tonight and sod off back to liverpool and take the fat controller with ya.people pay good money to watch this tripe i( i wanted to use a stronger word than tripe but it wouldnt get on this page ). the fans should start to vote with there feet because thats the only way were gonna make a change.
mr MORGAN how much more do we have to take. please SACK HIM NOW!!!!!!!
JUST PITIFUL.
First half promising, half time team talk must have been the kiss of death, again.
Why Kightly off in favour of Hunt, why Vokes to Brighton leaving us with two inept and one overworked striker, why why why don’t we get rid of this manager NOW?
Because we’re being set up for a return to the Championship, that’s why.
If you pay Championship wages, you get Championship players who perform accordingly. If you employ a second grade manager, you get second division football.
These are facts NOBODY can argue with.
WOLVES WILL GO DOWN BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY DERSRVE.
It was more fun in the fourth division under Graham Turner. At least he knew what he was doing.
A truly sloppy and abject performance. They simply disappeared in the second half. The players looked beaten and lost out there. It had relegation written all over it and for the first time some players seemed to have thrown in the towel.
The blame has to be laid at MacCarthy’s door. He is tactically redundant, organisationally inept and motivationally incapable. He simply cannot take Wolves forward anymore and has to go. Thanks for what you’ve done Mick, but you’ve passed your sell by date.
Still, I guess that at least Steve Morgan left Molineux a happy man to-night!
Clueless manager, clueless team selecting and clueless tactics from a boring manager who is out of his depth in the Premier League.
No flair, no creativity, no drive and thats all down to the team management. How much more do we need to take of this?
Rafa Benitez, Roy Keane, Phil Brown? Time to start looking at managers who will give us a chance of Premier League survival!

Someone’s GOT TO GO after this totally abysmal performance. Probably me.

Well done 17 for spotting the 2M’s and a T from Oxley. Sums up the usual torrent of abuse.
What did you expect tonight? A win?
A draw? OK a point would have been nice.
BUT 3 points against QPR will do us much more good than a draw against a top quality side. We are a mid to lower quality side who needs to beat other mid to lower sides and that is that!
If we do that we stay up again. Which we will without any change of management team.I can feel it in my water :)
Sulk yes but be realistic!

Love the Wolves… just love ‘em!
Just hate what’s going on there at the moment.

Need a change to breathe some life and hope back into the season…. even though I now accept relegation is an inevitability!

Here is an excellent example where the players are in total alignment with the management. Wolves have a management team that has no ambition or desire to improve and do whatever necessary to drive the club to success. Watching the game it’s obvious the players are in total alignment. All the teams in the relegation zone have stepped up and bought in new players in the hope they can pull clear of the drop, but again we see Wolves do nothing. You cannot expect any more when the management has no passion or ambition, and a team manager (MM) who only knows how to perform in the championship, and players who really belong in the championship. No ambition so Wolves fans shouldn’t expect anything more. Let’s hope that life in the championship will be better.
what a joke, can’t defend, score or pass. Players are sub standard, as is the manager but my real criticism is levelled at the board. Where is the club leadership? New stand when we needed a LB, CM and Striker. We keep buying second rate players and wonder why they are not good enough. MM isn’t going to openly say he needs better players. SM had a window of opportunity of replacing the manager but he knew that a decent one would need a pot of transfer cash. Hence no manager. Zero ambition equals relegation.
How much longer can this go on ?
Morgan – Scouser who is only interested in building houses. I bet Sir Jack is kicking himself now giving our club to this idiot.
He says nothing while our club goes to the wall without a whimper.
Mark my words he is no better than the Bhattis’.
We are down – he will sell nearly all the players take the money and run. Bet he is pleased as at least HIS team won tonight.
Mick – go now of gods sake ! Terry Connor should have been sacked years ago – he has more lives than a cat. He couldn’t drive a coach let alone coach a football team.
Whats he ever done in the game – I wouldn’t trust him with a dog !
We are a few steps away from dropping down the leagues again like we did all those years ago.
All I can say I was a Wolves fan long before these muppets arrived and I will be when all these muppets have gone but I am not PROUD To be one at present.
Any idea’s what i tell my 7 yr old son ?
Do what all the other kids do and support Man Utd or Man City – it makes me sick !

Liverpool were celebrating two victories tonight, winning a football match and thanking the lord that Steve Morgan is not their chairman. Where is the ambition? Feel sick tonight, goddamn the 3Ms, onwards and downwards.

So Nenad Milijas was right when he said “Wolves can upset Reds”. It’s true I think they must be upset – they would have like to have scored at least 5 against us tonight.
One win in 14 games. I’m afraid we’re going down with a whimper.
So this was the game you were looking forward to Mick?
What do we expect with a management that refuses to spend on quality or in fact on anyone at all yet again, a Chairman more interested in building a white elephant and maybe selling it off just as quick when he gets a chance and an accountant counting his wage bonus yet again regardless.
This management has no pride, no vision for the club, no passion for what the side means to us, the fans!
No wonder the players don’t care as well anymore!

McCarthy, “I am not panicking, we don’t have to do anything different” Yes you do how many times does he need telling?
Let’s kick off and kick it back to the keeper.
Let’s pack the midfield,
Let’s play two wingers..
Lets only play one up front.
Let’s play Edwards who can run around but cannot score goals.
Let’s not mark players.
Lets back off the attackers.
Lets keep crossing the ball across the field and pass it back.
Let’s put our best club goals scorer on when we are two down.
Let’s take off Kightly having put two attackers on.
Let’s put Millijas on.
Let’s give the fans who have turned up again another miserable second half performance.
Our best club goal scorer hits the post with the best shot we had.
I don’t blame Hennessey, he made two errors today but playing behind that lot who wouldn’t.
Enough is enough, no idea no tactics etc, etc,
What a terrible performance.
I think all posters will be appalled after that this evening
In fairness Morgan is to blame as much as McCarthy, The manager has to be sacked in the morning, we are going to be relegated.

If thats it, we are down without a wimper.
The fans couldn’t even be bothered to boo, that’s how bad we were.

What was Jonnsson doing on the pitch, he looked so far out of his depth it was untrue.
Then if it ain’t going our way just switch to 4 4 2 & sure enough the flood gates open!!!
Absolutely clueless management, McCarthy shut the door behind you when you go!!!
I bet you won’t be looking as smug on the post match interviews as you were on the pre-match ones, still think we’ll be ‘just fine,ok’???

Thanks mr morgan, when you were given our once great club you promised to make us one of the top premier clubs within 5 years.Tonight you should hang your head in shame.Being a scouser bet your in the boardroom with your mate dalglish supping champagne sniggering telling him about all the houses you are about to build in wolverhampton.Yes mcarthy has a lot to answer for and should have gone a long time ago.Yourself and mr moxey are in my view just as much to blame. When sir jack gave you for free our club I remember feeling elated by your vision for wolves. All you have done is made us a laughing stock of the premier league, and you moxey and mcarthy should all take a good look at yourselves in the mirror tonight.By the way “last one to leave turn the light out”. I have a feeling thats it for MM now, i think he may walk!
It is beyond belief that another transfer deadline day comes & goes and again we have done nothing! That Eggy in midfield must be the biggest waste of 200k i have ever seen! and there has been a few in our time! who on earth watched him play & thought he was a good player?
Every team that MM has managed plays dinasaur football and im sick of seeing it! if he stays in a job now i give up! like alot of our fans already have!
The atmosphere during game tonight sums up my feelings, everyone knew what to expect, knew we was not going to get entertained, so why bother!
It will be no suprise if he does now go as a new manager won’t be able to spend with window being shut! so another cheap option awaits!

But it looks like we have got Bassong, Whoopy-do!!!

We’ve known for awhile that the current squad isn’t good enough – we’ve known for awhile that McCarthy had run out of his limited ideas – so whose to blame for the mess we are in? Morgan stands guilty of watching our decline and not doing anything to give us a fighting chance of staying in the Premieship. The warning signs started in November and our decline has been allowed to continue. WHY? Morgan has turned out to be a huge disappointment.

Even the most ardent Mick fans must admit that was abject tonight.
We were at home tonight yet have managed no efforts on goal I can remember in that second half.
I cannot believe how negative Mick sets us up to play.
All the news coming out of the club at the moment is depressing and we appear to be heading down with a whimper.
Maynard on his way to West Ham for just over 1.5 million – were we really interested? Having said that even after tonights 5-1 reverse they seem more likely to be in the top flight next year than we do.
Very disappointing – please get a young manager in now to plan for next season and get us playing some good football and thank Mick for what he has done – I have never been Micks biggest fan but would prefer him to leave with his head held high.

It’s all a bit pointless now. If Mad-Mick was going it had to be on monday. So he isn’t going.
He’s really not up to this level and neither is the team he’s created. But it’s now irrelevent cause we’re stuck where we are.
I see our relegation rivals buying and trying to get out of it and I see Wolves doing nowt. We’re doomed and our owners/management seem happy to accept that.Wake up Wolves fans, show some anger.
Can’t see three teams worse than us this season.

sorry I didnt mention the game in my earlier post, the truth is we have never been able to handle carroll or bellamy with the defence we have. So the result is no surprise.
What is so embarrasing is that mick refused to reschedule the game to tommorow to give liverpool an extra day to recover from the weekend but looks like we could have done with the extra day.

This home performance was humiliating and Liverpool had no pressure put on them at all. It showed what a poor squad we have and share Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey should hang their heads for allowing this to happen. You just cannot run an effective top club with the level of investment that has been put in. I wonder if Sir Jack will be allowed to buy the club back for a tenner at least he always admitted he knew little about football unlike Steve Morgan who thinks he does but almost certainly doesn’t.

Well what can i say? Only yesterday i said at work that the hapless idiot McCarthy could do worse than signing one of our old youth players in Keith Andrews to bolster our awful midfield. Especially having been stupid enough to not sign Keane. And i get home to find he’s gone to the Hawthorns!!! Just why why why is McCarthy so slow in the head? Still at least he got Eggert in from the mickey mouse league!!! HONESTLY YOU JUST COULDN’T MAKE IT UP.

fantastic news we make very hard work of the transfer window once again, but I hear we have signed bassong from spurs. hope its true.
He will need games but is a quality defender and should play well with johnson or a fit craddock. berra and stearman should finally get dropped.
We also needed another striker and defensive midfielder to challenge henry. we could have done with that player today.

Quite simply a very poor and disorganized performance by our beloved Wolves, from what I could tell some 10,000 miles away, watching on my boob-tube! Not sure if Morgan is going to have Moxey uncoil the long rope stored in his CEO office or if he will make McCarthy walk the blank anytime soon. For sure, though, big Mick looked like a sick parrot and seems a dead man walking. I like him, I really do, but unless he has some ace up his sleeve he looks to be soon dealt out of this high stakes poker game, such as being a professional football manager! Still praying we stay up, but sadly the. OST language of many of the players says that will be too much to ask for.

Can’t condone for shocking defending and truly awful, basic goalkeeping errors. I agree that in instances the team seem to lack awareness and even effort – 1st goal for instance. Adlene (an impact player) to Forest and MM wants to sign impact players – Beggars belief. Now young Doherty has gone out on loan and we keep George – Beggars belief. The lack of quality in crosses into the box tonight was apparent and yet Hammill, who is the best crosser, can’t even get on the bench – Beggars belief! Why the heck was Hunt brought on – an impact player? Beggars belief. The game plan (I think there is one) tonight was pass backwards at every opportunity, especially to the goalkeeper from half way. An objective assessment of the current situation demonstrates quite clearly the manager is inept both tactically and organizationally. He must go BUT it will be the same old…. Namely, I get the best out of these lads. We can still do it. And so on and so forth. MM will be there in Championship mode next season.
#45 Wengers Water Bottle you state: We are a mid to lower quality side who needs to beat other mid to lower sides and that is that! If we do that we stay up again. Which we will without any change of management team. I can feel it in my water. Sulk yes but be realistic! First, WWFC are not a mid table side and if you think keeping the manager and coach will result in success then you are delusional. We do not beat other mid (or lower) table teams – have a look at the results this season so far. Take your own advice and be realistic because what you say is nonsensical.

Sorry if you don’t like this, but…..
In my opinion you can’t blame Morgan or Moxey for where we are in the league.
Do they scout for players? NO
Do they train the players? NO
Do they pick the team and arrange the tactics? NO
Do they deliver the half time team talks? NO
Shall I go on? NO
MM is responsible for all of the above and more and is the only reason we are where we are. He is totally out of his depth as a premier league manager and cannot take this team any further.
Anyone who went tonight only needs to see the “performance” of Eggert Jonsson to realise that MM has bought another dud to add to the long list of failed investments.
I want him out.

Time for McCarthy to go. No question.
No need to get abusive towards him as he is trying his best. It is simply not good enough for the Premier League. Terry connor should also go.
Bassong in on loan is a great move. Get in either some experience in Alan Curbishly or some young flair in, who are tactically astute.

All credit to the folks in the South Bank tonight with the “Mac Out” banner. The only people (Liverpool aside) in Molineux tonight who had the courage of their convictions.
To all those who upped and left at 3-0 down, shame on you. If you are a happy clapper, do whatever it is you do until the end. If you aren’t, stay until the end, and voice your dissent, satisfaction, bemusement, or whatever.
Swansea at home aside, we have collectively sat on the fence for too long. It may be too late to save this season, but we surely still have it in us, as fans, to express our utter disgust at what has happened, both on and off the pitch, in this dreadful shambles of a season.
I keep hearing that players / managers / ceo’s / chairmen come and go, the one constant is the fans – and so it is.
So let’s use what little power we have. I don’t believe it can be considered in any way disloyal, against the backdrop of this season, for any true Wolves fan to voice their frustration, anger and contempt, in the strongest possible terms.
It surely can’t do any more harm than a McCarthy team talk, and maybe it will do some good.
Sad to say it but I can’t see us fluking our way out of this mess this time. Lessons weren’t learned last season and the belief from morgan and mccarthy that this was simply us under achieving. Doing it on the cheap has proved to be almost as big a mistake as Risdale and O’leary assuming that a champions league spot was the norm for Leeds all those years ago.
So we’ve got a solid financial base. Whoopy doo. So has my bank manager but he doesn’t charge me £500 a year to sit their bored out of my mind asking myself why I bother.

But you’ve got a ways to go

No matter what, you carry on
You may stumble into heaven
You may wander your way home”
Up you Wolves!

What a passionless, inept, clueless, GUTLESS performance that was. Our lot had absolutely no stomach for any kind of fight when we desperately needed it most -and that’s totally unacceptable, inexcusable and an insult to us fans. Who’d fancy having those white flag-waving bunch of quitters standing next to them in the trenches? Me neither.
Mick, you’re not up to the job, never have been and never bloody will be. If you had any decency, you’d have resigned long ago before this shambles became near-terminal, thanks in no small part to your incompetence. Oh, and take Connor with you, too, while you’re at it, because you’ve both over-stayed your welcome. You’ve FAILED, boys.
Moxey, save your legendary bullshine for the easily-influenced fans among us who are simply too naive to see past your spin, waffle and endless self-interest. The rest of us clocked your number long ago, mate. Forget the annual bonus, Jez -instead be sure to deduct a sizeable portion of your own fat salary because you’ve FAILED, too. In fact, you’ve blamed others rather than yourself -just like Mick.
Morgan, you’ve fed us all a diet of grandiose plans since you first walked into Molineux but have delivered nothing where it really matters most -out on the pitch. How I’m bitterly regretting that Sir Jack sold you his pride and joy. You’re embarrassing not only the club and its passionate fans, but also the whole City of Wolverhampton. God only knows how you made Red Row so successful when you’re overseeing one of the biggest calamities of modern times. Sack McCarthy, sack Connor, sack Moxey …and then sack yourself because I, for one, have lost faith in all four of you lot. So, take Darlo Wolf’s advice and just bog off back to Liverpool. Your ‘old pals act’ with Moxey and McCarthy is the poison that’s slowly destroyed our club from within.

And finally we ourselves are as bad as the Three M’s we just accept 2nd best off them every week, i’d watch the wolves up to my armpits in mud never mind a new stand if we had a half decent team ( we may well have but sadly i think its beyond the present manager now)

There’s a point at which any amount of effort cannot overcome a lack of organization.
These players have reached it.
They are burned out, and despite the fact that they all claim to love the “boss”, he’s obviously lost them and all of his BS “put in a good shift” doesn’t mean a thing when you’re playing in a team with no plan.
He has to go. It’s probably too late now for someone to come in and turn this around, especially with the transfer window closed.

This is the lowest I have ever felt watching the Wolves in the Premiership. A truly appalling exhibition( if that is the right word to use) of defending in the second half. How many times this season have we seen our center backs back peddling as a forward runs directly at them? To do it against a guy like Bellamy spells disaster – he did not even hit the ball cleanly and Hennessey managed to botch the save.
I would not blame Frimpong if he requested a return to the Emirates and goodness knows what Bassong must be thinking!!!
MM should do the decent thing after a nights rest and quit in the morning. Management has to make changes quickly not that I believe for a minute anyone can now save us from the certainty of relegation. A new management team has little chance of salvaging the situation now that the transfer window has passed – moves should have been made before Christmas when most everyone except Morgan knew we were heading for this calamity.

For the first time in many years I really couldnt be bothered to stay up and see the result ( I now live in Spain but am a South Bank season ticket holder). The club has descended into mediocrity, you can forgive bad players, bad games even sometimes a bad manager but lack of ambition is the death knell of any business and that is what the Board of WWFC have demonstrated. All around clubs have been improving their squads, trying to bridge their weaknesses and what do we do at the death get Bassong on loan. Sure he cant be as bad as our current defenders but the whole club is in disarray and we are going, deservedly, like a lead balloon. McCarthy should be sacked this morning there is no future with him as manager and Morgan should take a close look at himself, as many have said on here would any other of his managers get away with a recortd like that. I think not. lets hope lack of ambition doesnt mean we are doomed to another 19 years in the Championship

I am a lifelong wolves supporter and would have settled for a period of steady growth this season maybe 30 points after 23 games would have given me more pride in our club and a belief that we can push on and consolidate. MM stated he believes the players he has are good enough so he is now proven to be totally wrong, but we knew that anyway, how many of our players would get into another mid table side, or more importantly how many wouldn’t?
15 games left and 45 points to play for, he HAS to go now what are money and Morgan thinking about? We have let Hughes and Oneill go but we may get HIddink to the end of the season or what about Benitez?
We have been left behind by Micks brand of football, bad judgement of players, lack of tactical awareness, and poor decision making. I have made journeys totalling 50,000 miles to watch us play this season and dread the derby next week.

The man is all at sea, and its clear to all those who saw this shot, he does not know what to do next, he is floundering under the pressure. he is struggling with important decisions that should be made, and let me tell you, he is scared stiff of making a change of Manager, as clear as the nose on his face.

We never beat Liverpool at home – so get over it.
We’ve got QPR and the boggies to save the season. I know the away support will be magnificent – as always – and hopefully since it’s a local derby the majority of the negativity won’t be shown then to give us a better chance the week after.
We were in a worse position last season and got out of it so have some faith in the 3M’s. I think we can stay up this season and hopefully the minority who got carried away with our start and are now calling for Mick’s head and Terry’s clipboard will be left eating humble pie.
2-1 win against QPR will make everything a little rosier.

There was no passion, no pride and no backbone, no way should half of these players being wearing the “OLD GOLD” and I think MM should go and have a look at the non leagues because if he remains in charge that is where we are heading.
How bad is 1 point in the last 5 HOME games, every other team would be under new management by now so why are we trudging along with our current structure.
Come on Morgan help us to help you, you sack MM and the fans may start supporting the club again.

A shambles of a club at the moment. Moxey and Morgan should have seen the danger signs in October/November and got new manager while MON or Hughes were available. Morgan can see the writing on the wall by stopping second stage of ground development. MM has to go as clearly he has run out of ideas. And make sure Terry Clipboard goes as well. We are playing the same tactics as the last two seasons. No progression and now in the brown and smelly with no likelihood of getting out. God knows who we get in to replace MM but someone out there must have a better idea about defensive organisation and tactics. Ole Gunnar Sjolskjaer anyone?
We are now a laughing stock and cannon fodder to the end of the season if MM and Clipboard stay.

Morning all, woke up this morning and I’m not that disapointed as we all know that we lost the battle of RELEGATION at the beginning of January. This is nothing personal against the Football Manager or his staff but we know and you know it is time for you to go. That is why the players are struggling because they don’t understand the message you are trying to send them. We need a new Manager, for me if they had got a new Manager at the beginning of the month and not got the players they have in then we would be a bit further up the table and with a bit of hope to survive.
Mr Morgan, if somebody you employed in your housing business had at the beginning managed some of your building staff well and then did it no longer they would be up the road like a shot. Why not do it at the football club, Mick & Co have no longer got any idea and the club is now going to pay a high price.
We are going down, but if you get a Manager in now you may see enough improvement to get us out of the Championship at the first attempt. Please just consider the comments everyone can see we are in for a few bad years unless you make the change now.

Do we all want to watch these players getting £1 miilion /year ?

Men against boys again last night. Poll were a BIG side who stopped us playing. For us to keep playing with wingers we have to be better all around the pitch or have more luck than the opposition. Without that we are weak and outnumbered in midfield. Mick’s football system has been found out and with another central defender signed are we now going to play five across the back and one in midfield?? Clueless! Mr Morgan show how good you are and give a chance of staying in the Prem. It may be hard to stay up but its even harder to come back up. Act now and get somebody in who can sort it out.

Didn’t think Liverpool looked any great shakes in the first half but we made them look like world beaters in the second half..I can’t see where the next points are coming from! Someone said they never felt so bad at the end, the sad thing for me was I didn’t feel anything…Just the norm didn’t expect anything else and I’m an happy clapper!

I hope you are happy Mr Morgan – I guess, as a life-long Liverpool supporter, you will be.
However, I fear it’s getting very close to being too late to rescue our season now. We are looking like a team that is lacking in belief – something we, as Wolves fans, have always had in spades.
Trouble is, performances like this are ripping the heart and belief out of us all.
Look inside yourself, Mr Morgan, tell us where the buck stops.

I was so angry walking out that ground last night! I don’t mind losing to Liverpool or any team for that matter as long as Wolves showed some fight and passion… But they didn’t and it seems to becoming a regular thing. Only Hennessey and Fimpong were any good then SEB came on at at least he showed to sort of fight, he tried to attack and turn the players and hit the post which was the trigger for the crowds sarcastic chanting(but deserved!).
I had a spare ticket for the game so my sister came with me, she knows little about football but through out the whole game she was saying why do they keep passing backward? Why do they always give it to the keeper? Why does no one make a run through the middle? They are making silly mistakes… she then went on to say how predictable they were and she was saying who they would pass to next and 9 times out of 10 she was right! So predictable and yet my sister with little footballing knowledge could read wolves like a book… This is why our second halves are so poor!! the opposition sees what’s going on and adjusts in the second half then batter us.
The crowds chanting sarcastically at there team was called for! they deserved it, the manager deserved it and the the board deserved it. trouble is the next home game is WBA so is already almost a sell out so any repercussions won’t be seen till after this game. But I think I’m gonna give it a rest for a bit and save some monies already got my ticket for the brom game, I don’t want to see football like that, it was a disgrace and no one can defend it.
Bassong in, Welcome to wolves!! good luck at the QPR game 2 wins in a row is a must and maybe the away game has come at the right time? hopefully QPR’s new team will need time to adjust and settle so we can have a go??? =)
Although I think a lot of fans were quick to turn on MM I think now things have got so bad on the pitch a change is probably a must. The only person I would like at the moment is Chris Hughton.
I liked the chants form the crowd and it was a good way of showing the board things ain’t all rosy. Hopefully we will be cheering at the next game against the Baggies.

The good news is: we won’t have a tense nail-biting end of season like last year.
The bad news is: we’ll have packed our bags for the Championship before then.
I’m sorry, I’m feeling really defeated and deflated right now and I hope I am dead wrong.
The “MAC OUT” sign was tragically funny though.
Morgan, Moxey and McCarthy have to shoulder the blame for the situation we found ourselves in. If Morgan really meant it when he said “never again” after we survived by the skin of our teeth last season, surely he should have taken more pro-active measures during the now closed transfer window? QPR are in the same boat as us, but they’re prepared to use all means necessary to survive relegation.
Investing in the stadium development makes economic sense in the long term, as long as you build on your Premier League status as the core.
I hope that we, as supporters, stay behind the team first and foremost, no matter what the manager or board situation is. The players are the ones who toil and sweat out on the pitch, trying to keep their heads up and overachieve despite their limitations. To their credit, they do pull out stronger performances over the latter half of the season and they may just be able to do so again with our support.

Question for a Mr R.Johnson… how far do you back off from a Mr C.Bellamy who is running unopposed towards your goal from just inside the half way line? Answer: Too Far!
Question for Mr McCarthy… if players lack of effort isn’t the problem (and it isn’t), then it must be either their lack of ability (which means there’s nothing can be done to save us) ~ or, bad tactics and/or lack of confidence, the responsibility for which after all these years must rest at your door.
I see no prospect whatsoever of us avoiding the drop with this team and you in charge. I see little prospect of anyone else getting us of this mess either, but little chance is better than none. Than k you for all your past endeavours and achievements but enough is enough. Please go.

What can I say that I was embrassed by the wolves let liverpool score goal, we were dreadful in our defending. I couldn’t understand why did he bring on e-Blake on when he should have got doyle was there. McCarthy picked out Doherty as the plus point vs Blues, so now of course he sends him out on loan to the equivalent of Div 3; He sends out Ardlene to Forest, who promptly lose,ditto Keogh and Millwall,Vokes to Brighton, at least he didn’t jinx them, yet! Is MM trying to leave just ‘the bare bones to frighten off any potential threat to his job?’ As for Mick, what arrogance to stand and shake hands of every player, as if to stay ‘nothing to see her, I’m in charge,like it or lump it’; If he had any sense he would negotiate a pay-off and hope the Forest job becomes available, that’s the only decent club that might take him on, but I doubt it;What a sorry state of affairs;

Sorry to arrive so late in this.
Okay, firstly let me say… MICK IN! KEEP MICK! HANG ON TO MICK!
Why? Because he has a proven record of bringing us up from the Championship and that is PRECISELY what he is going to have to do again, because make no mistake about it, we are going down. That’s now 11 points from 20 games, more or less as calamitous a run as Mick famously had with Sunderland (well, it’s about 0.05 of a point per game better, but that’s just splitting mathematical hairs) and it has been going on for more than half a season. That’s not a wobble, it’s an entire jelly factory, and it’s simply not the kind of slide that can be arrested. We have to accept that this is the case and steel ourselves accordingly, because the teams around us, with the exception of Wigan, are starting to either come into form or they have bought wisely in the transfer window. They are going to pull away from us unless there is some kind of miracle turnaround – and why would there be? 11 points from 20 games, people.
So, what next? Well, we can reasonably assume that these players will be strip-mined from us next summer – Hennessey, Johnson, Berra (for some reason), Kightly, Jarvis, Milijas, Doyle and Fletcher. Heck, if I was one of the teams going up, I’d even give Ward a crack. So we have to ask ourselves if a core team of De Vries; Foley, Stearman, Zubar, Elokobi; Edwards, Henry, Guedioura, Hammill; Ebanks-Blake, Vokes would be enough to get us back up. Food for thought. The bottom line, though, is that we ARE going down, it’s too late for any new manager coming in to arrest that, so MICK IN! STICK WITH MICK!

its a sad state of affairs at the club.
I really cant see how we can get out of it.
defensively- we are a shambles particularly at home where we keep giving away silly goals. yes we now have Bassong and craddock to come back but neither has played much football and according to Reddnapp Bassong is low on confidence.its really tough to come into struggling team in these circumstances and play well.
Midfield- lets hope ohara comes back soon and we can play Fringpong in henry position. He can tackle, but can run with the ball and pass it forward which henry cant do. Edwards and Johnson do not look premiership players to me.
Attack- totally reliant on Fletch- but generally poor service give all the strikers little chance. I think we should have let either SEB or Doyle go and brought in a better goalscorer.
mick believes in Kightly and thinks he can made a big difference, but why play hunt who has been anonymous all season, and not give Hamill a look in??
Mick needs a win in the next 2 games but I think QPR and the baggies will have too much for us

182 pete nuts,
I understand what your saying but i have to disagree. Mick has had 3 years now in this league and has wasted a lot of money on poor signings. He has failed to address our poor defence, even in the championship we were poor at the back.
If mick is still in charge next season if we go down the crowds will be at there lowest for many years.
We need fresh ideas, new coaches and a overhaul of the squad which in my opinion has just gone stale.
Were going to need some inspiration and i dont think mick has anything else to offer.
I dont believe its just micks fault though and while moxey is at the club any manager will have to work under the same restraints.
We have spent over 45 million on 24 players either permanent or on loan since we were promoted, how many of these have made an impact? pretty much every match we play we have 7 to 9 of our chamionship team, why is this? because were to tight to pay the wages and were shopping in aldi.
Before anyone jumps down my throat and says do i want us to do a portsmouth or a leeds, no i dont!!! but we could of signed 2 or 3 a season of quality and used to wasted millions on wages.
Anyway if i has my way now i would try to persuade alan curbishley to try and save our season and start looking for a new chief exec for next season. We need to change things quickly or i can see things geting very nasty down the molineux.

I was hoping after the Villa game we saw some sense and put MM out of his misery but no again defending that would not look out of place at my 4 year old’s mini league.
The question is who takes over as surely after QPR game MM will be gone?
I have a horrible feeling we will end up with Steve Bruce. My own choice would be to gamble and go for a young hungry manager without fear like Swansea or Norwich. Lee Clark would be top of the list. Good premiership experience as a player and has done an excellent job to date. Fed up of all the other usual suspects.
Please no one say David Moyes as we all know deep down that’s not going to happen.

Yeah, I actually broadly agree, it can’t hurt to show him the door, can it? We’re in danger of becoming a classic yo-yo club, but I have grave concerns about the extent to which we’ll be asset-stripped if we go down. Let’s face it, we’re not a glamorously-located club by any means, and I can see us getting into a cycle of personnel flux when, as our esteemed owners are keen to tell us, we’re supposed to be all about stability. Eff it – Mick out. What’s the worst that can happen, as Dr Pepper once said?

I dont think anyone expected a wolves win yesterday, but I think we desperately needed a point. A few games coming up where we will be expected to win and we need those win just to keep us in the running. If saturday night comes and were still without a win, I think mick has run out of chances, which is a shame, as I feel it is the players that have completely underperformed. Draws arent even good enough now. We need a run of good results which we have yet to have this season, now is the best possible time to get on that run, so good luck wolves, were all desperate for you to show us what you can really do.

I don’t want to come out criticise the manager because he has done a good job since he’s been at the club. But surely enough is now enough. 4 wins in 23 PL games which has brought 18 points. So the general target of 40 points would mean that MM would have to guide us to at least another 6 or 7 wins from the remaining 15 games – and thats minimum. Can’t see that happening somehow. The board need to act now to give us a fighting chance of survival. Can’t score and can’t defend.
I can’t for the life of me understand why Adlene Guedioura has been sent out on loan and Eggert Jonsson has been brought in who had a very poor game last night. A bad passer of the ball and left our defence exposed on to many occasions. Foleys distribution was poor. Ward constantly out of position. I feel sorry for Fletcher who is always isolated.
The thing which really bugged me last night was there was just no belief or urgency in the side. Lack of creativity and ideas. Even less so once they fell behind. I mean no-one expects us to win every game but the lack of quality is there for all to see. I really hope MM can turn it round but I just can’t see that there are 3 worse teams in this division.

Dearest Steve,
I am ashamed to say that we need some time apart as we seem to want different things out of our relationship. I want passion, pride, commitment and excitement out of our relationship, which over the years you have given me in abundance even when times were hard, and wanting little in return. But now I feel you just want security (and the house). I think we need to have a trial separation – I’m sure there will be the occasional weekend when I miss the close up, personal relationship that we once enjoyed and I succumb to the allure of the Molineux and go for a guilt-free 90 minute quickie. And I’m sure I’ll enjoy it at the time and hope/wonder if we can ever go back to what we had.
I can assure you that there’s no-one else involved – I’m not that type of person. As far as I’m concerned, it’s you or nobody. But you’ve changed.

On paper, McCarthy’s a good bet to get us promoted should -I mean ‘when’- we go down. However, think of the negative effect of hanging on to a bloke that most fans -so it seems- now have little faith in. We could do without further damage in supporter morale, not to mention the inevitable drop in ST sales. Besides, if we returned under Mick, who’d fancy another Premier League stint under his supervision? Aint we suffered enough already, ffs?
Time for a new broom to sweep clean…but we may just as well wait until the season’s over before dismissing Mick because it’s too late, now.
I can’t decide who I’m most angry at: McCarthy for not resigning (which demonstrates a clear lack of self-respect) or Morgan for standing by like a clueless clown, watching the shambles unfold month upon month, yet doing b*gger-all about it.
Screw-up against WBA at home and I truly fear the consequences on a number of levels. Worrying times indeed.

Lets try to put this into perspective; Mick is as good as he can be (which actually isn’t that bad in football terms, just not good enough for this level), the team generally give everything they have using all of the skills God gave them. Steve Morgan gets to buy the club for buttons and (apparently foolishly) gives millions of pounds to a “good” manager who is unable to move us from the foot of the table. Steve also gets to build lots of things in and around Wolverhampton. Moxey says that if you tell him the wage bill of a Premiership team then he will predict their finishing position. We don’t seem to be able to attract short term loan players of Keane’s quality nor to buy true Premiership quality. The supporters yearn for safety but end up watching opposition supporters doing the conga to celebrate in our newly improved ground. Finally we have been told that the new facilities to be provided will match those of any Premiership club, but won’t open until next season. There are so many inconsistencies at Wolves that the outcomes must be both predicted and acceptable to intelligent, successful businessmen. I think I know the answer/reason for most of the above, but will refrain from printing for (without proof) they could be considered libellous. I have one statement and one question;
We will be relegated this season from the poorest Premiership (at the bottom) for several years.
How will our shiny new facilities compare to the rest of the Championship?

I am as gutted as the rest of you but will still attempt to stay positive. Win at QPR on Saturday, and things will look a fair bit different and cheer us up a bit. I am not a betting man but I was very tempted to put money on Carroll scoring last night, wish I had now! Abject defending for his goal. Thought that Frimpong made some good, accurate and crisp passes, best of a poor bunch.
Roy Keane? NO. The guy has no real record of success as a manager and as a player he was, in my opinion, a thug who tackled with no regard for the injury he might cause. With his tactics we’d have several players permanently suspended. Bruce? Why? Hughton? Why would he come to Wolves when he’s doing fine at Brum? I think relegation, new younger manager, new tactically aware coach and revitalised squad of young players may be a better outcome. Look at the progress of Norwich, Swansea, Brighton etc as models for the future. Or persuade a billionaire to come in. Or Pete Nuts.
Well before the game against Liverpool I knew it would be another defeat whatever the manager and players would say. If you look at the statistics Wolves under McCarthy have never won a game when they have two successive games at home during the last 3 years in the EPL. Also they have never won when they have a prolonged rest of 8 to 10 days as they return with all players asleep. Remember if you add Birmingham defeat at home in the replay of the FA Cup it is a gloomy picture of a team at home. Why Norwich and Swansea play such good football is because they were declared doomed to relegation and therefore play without pressures. Also they go forward and defend well why our players for so many times allow attackers to come to their danger zone without tackle them. Last night 3 defenders let Bellamy approach their goal without one daring to attack him. Instead they were all on-lookers and the ball was in the net. Tevez did that last season and so many times they look to attackers and do not defend as they should do. In all the Cup competitions our manager has not a clue how to prepare a team to have a go. I am sure we have a very bad performance in these cups. I still remember the last time we won the Football league Cup in 1980 and it was something to savour but not now as we know as soon we take part in any Cup competition we know exactly what to expect – “Bundled out of the Cup”. Mind you the manager has bought over 35 players and only 6 “CAN COPE” with the EPL. Coping means they can stay afloat and are not players who can turn a match into a win. And above all Wolves have always played with all sorts of pressures on them. Too much is expected of them and that’s why they are doomed to make all these silly mistakes and also we have too many ORDINARY players.

It’s the defence that will ultimately get us relegated, and it’s a defence that didn’t do that well even when we were promoted. The warning signs have been there since 2009 and the manager has fixed nothing. Berra was a terrible signing. Ward and Foley don’t have the positional discipline or ability to prevent crosses that are needed in the Prem. In fact, it’s almost as if they are told to stand off the man. That would be fine if we had centre halves who command the air and head crosses away. Johnson can do it but Berra can’t. Maybe because McCarthy was an average defender at best he sees himself in the likes of Ward, Foley, Berra, Stearman (and plenty who have gone before like Collins, Friend, Shackell, D Ward) and can’t resist giving them chance after chance, year after year?

What ever happened to the spirit you wolfies are so famous for. Over 200 comments on here and at least 80% of them are calling for changes. Your not in that bad a position and lets be honest it’s not always easy for a new manager to inherit a previous managers team allbeit a manager that has served the club for as long as MM. All you need is to string a couple of wins together and then things start to look up. Good Luck Guys….. but not until after we have given you a good tattering.

Wolves record in nearly 3 seasons in EPL
We’ll be lucky if we’ve scored 100 goals or more,
We ve coceded who knows, Sunderland had the worst record in EPL when MM in charge. We are never going to attract a striker of
quality when 95% of the time we play with lone man up front.
Appreciate MM getting us there, keeping us there, but time
To move on, players are not responding. If we go down we sell we
struggle, we had a base to build on, it’s great to be financially sound
but a little debt for success is paramount.
Empty stands for unattractive football.
Hennesey, Foley, Johnson, Bassong, Whoevever, problem spot,
Kites, Ping Pong, O’Hara, Jarvis, Fletch, Doyle,
We got to attack, especially at home, all teams who
Came up haven’t changed.
If we are going down then fight for it

18 points on the board,15 games to go and we probably need the magic 40 pints to survive. So we need 22 points and whatever way you look at it this means a minimum of 6 wins plus say 4 draws, any takers ??
We all saw this coming and the Board have failed to make a decisive decision about McCarthy ( plus coaching staff ) months ago even by the end of last season. They are gutless and have let us the Wolves masses down.I have no idea who we could now appoint who could change a dire predicament.
I speak for all of us, were so angry, you have let us down and the Board should be ashamed of how they have allowed our great club to now be in this untenable position.

Mate, if you’d taken 11 points from your last 20 league games, you’d be calling for heads to be set rolling too. Sadly, the only difference is that your top chaps would probably have done something about it. It’s enough to make a man want to defect to the stripey side*.
* It isn’t really.

OFF YOU GO MM AND JM. IF YOU DIDNT KNOW BEFORE, YOU DO NOW. YOU ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO BE PUT IN CHARGE OF A PREMIERSHIP TEAM.
RESULTS AT MOLINEUX ARE A DISGRACE AND IN MM’S OWN WORDS “UNACCEPTABLE” ITS AT HOME WHERE THE FUTURE OF THE CLUB LIES BUT SADLY THE YOUNGSTERS WHO ARE FED UP AT SEEING OR READING OF FAILURE AFTER FAILURE, WON’T WANT TO OFFER THEIR SUPPORT.
THE ROOT CAUSE OF WOLVES TROUBLES THOUGH ARE NOT THE MANAGEMENT TEAM SO MUCH AS ONE JEZ MOXEY WHO CONTROLS THE PURSE STRINGS.
IT’S MOXEY WHO APPROVES A TRANSFER OR LOAN AND WHAT A DREADFUL JOB HE’S MADE OF IT.
NOTICED HOW WELL STOKE HAVE DONE SINCE THIS PIECE OF DEADWOOD MADE THE SWITCH TO MOLINEUX?
I REST MY CASE.

Again this was a ‘game of two halfs’, why do we fail to come out after the break and continue playing?
Mick says “all our players are playing to their potential” is this a veiled message that the two M’s above him won’t part with the cash to improve the squad?
Bridge went to Sunderland but they are only paying a small percentage of his wages. Why couldn’t we do a similar deal? Did Moxey even try?
We will be in trouble when we go down, Hennessey, Johnson, Jervis, Fletcher, Doyle, Kightley, Hunt and others are almost certain to leave and stay in the premier league.

i have mostly backed MM for the job he has done, but these days i dont even listen to the whole matches online, i just do a few chores and pop in to see whats going on. we just dont and cant beat anyone. its shameless.
Mick just has to go, we need a new manager and new ideas. i dont think a amanger needs money and players, they can come in and inspire.
worst case we have no manager for 1 or 2 games and that means that we will prob win, as with all teams. 6 points and the club save money on 2 weeks wages – no brainer!
come on managment – in the words of michael jackson – “make that change” (man in the mirror)

7 pts from 9 pts first 3 matches
11 pts from 60 pts last 20 matches
Pre-match MM said we just need 6 pts each month till the end of the season it could happen what a load of old bull.
At our present rate we will need 36 matches to get these points oh dear. TAXI!!!!!!!

I do hope I get apologies from all the happy clapping numpties. I predicted this before a ballw as kicked in August, and was told I was (insert abuse) after our so called good start…is that 2 wins in 22 now Mick? So all the other defeats WERE acceptable were they? Go now, just clear off, when we lose at home to the Baggies, surely , he falls on his sword. I was going to buy 2 ST’s for next year, but, no chance while he is in charge, it sa complete waste of hard earned cash…and Morgan….what exactly is your plan for Wolves….SPEAK UP MAN !!

Just read Johnson’s story… Nice of the king of mistakes to come out and back the manager but have to dissagree with all of what he said. Couldn’t help note an undertone of hate towards the fans reaction. He says you can’t blame us for reacting that way but you know he doesn’t really think that.
He also pritty much said even if you get a new manager in we will still be rubbish…

I have stuck to supporting this team, but oh gawd they look like a team thats lost its way big time, i can only see relegation looming big time, its not if we can stay up its more like can we finish off the bottom.
10 DAYS TO PREPARE, PREPARE WHAT!
1)NO GOAL THREAT-same old tired ideas& if they dont work hoof it up the pitch for fletcher to take a beating from 2 central defenders on his own.
2)i dont know what clipboard took 5 mins explainin g too hunty b4 subsitution but he either didnt listen or it didnt work!
3)half the team cant simply trap a ball – premier league my arse!
4)no-dody ever moves into space when we take a throwing , most times we just concide possession.
5)A back 4 & midfield trio that need 2 touches and then dalley – no one touch football.
6)WHY BOTHER TO DO ALL THAT SHOOTING PRACTICE PREMATCH WARM UP ,i cant remember a goal this season from out of the box shooting!
7)if they ever award points for passing side ways &backwards from just inside the opp’s half we would win the league by xmas.
8)what on earth due they do to them in training (hyponitise them)’cause every week we hear some player saying we will put it right this week & SORRY —-AGRHHHHHHHH
9)it shows the standard of the team when a youngster considered not good enough to get in a rotating squad of 20 in a poor arsenal team stands out as class like a beacon in a barren team void of premiership quality
10)i could go on & on but its time to take my blood pressure tablets so ill finish with saying even that very annoying chirpie chappy with the microphone on match days is getting right up my nose & is winding the fans up instead of lifting them with any sort of hope.
my keyboard is burning so goodbye .

wolves policy of a young and hungry squad. if thats the case why keep sending our best young players out on loan, winnall /bath /etc should be in the first squad to keep saying they have no experienced is a joke. look at michael owen when he started off rooney walcot the list can go on, they were never to young their managers threw them in at the deep end because they were given belief that they were good enough. we had a young and hungry side now it just looks like we have a side thats bored with their job. time for a change

Right, this is my opinion of last night.
Hennessey – made some great saves AGAIN.
Ward – Did ok.
Berra – Made some crucial blocks.
Johnson – Too slow and turned too easy.
Foley – Absolutely shocking, gave ball away.
Jarvis – Crossing a let down again.
Frimpong – Good solid player, great tackling.
Jonsson – Very composed and looks good.
Edwards – Energetic but lacks finishing touch.
Kightly – Not his best performance.
Fletcher – Hardly had a sniff.
Subs:
De Vries – Not used.
Elokobi – Not used and correctly so!
Stearman – Should have been Right Back!
Milijas – AWFUL when he came on.
Hunt – WHERE WAS HAMMILL? Hunt is shocking.
SEB – Should have started in a 442.
Doyle – Might aswell offload him soon!
After this performance with a negative and clueless manager, it seems as were going down.
SACK THE BOARD, MOXEY, MORGAN AND MCCARTHY OUT!

I’m not a fan of chopping and changing managers – Sir Alex being a good example of why consistancy is sometimes better. However, Martin O`Neil has transformed a Sunderland side that was similarly struggling (they even lost to us!) and now they’re mid-table and looking much stronger. Mick has done a good job for Wolves and I’m sure, should he be dismissed, his contract will ensure he is duly rewarded. However, from what I have seen there has been little progress over the last 3 years. Yes, last year we got more points but we finished lower in the League. This year, we are abysmal, are in the bottom 3 and the points gap to safety is growing too quickly. As a business man myself I can categorically say that that is not progress – at best stagnation! I’m sure the Business Plan has a contigency for relegation but that’s no comfort for the fans who are and will be paying PL money to watch a Championship team. What’s more worrying is that the Board, the manager and the players all think that playing the way they’ve been playing will somehow still save the day. Ostrich syndrome? My recommendation is: find a new management team but accept that relegation this year is inevitable. Should the best players want to leave at the end of the season (understandable), their contracts must ensure that the club has sufficient funds to find suitable replacements. Reward the loyal fans by offering higher discounts for ‘early bird’ tickets so that future revenues (merchandise, drinks, food etc) are protected (if fans don’t come to the ground you can’t sell additional products) and further investment can be planned. This year it is too late to save us from the drop but with the right planning and a proven management team in place before the end of this season, the chances of returning to the PL in 2013/14 will be significantly better (think West Ham rather than Portsmouth). The question is, is this particular business (Wolves FC) important enough for Mr Morgen? I’m guessing that with the current housing market in the UK, probably yes. Let’s at least hope so!

Look at Simon Grayson… Leeds have had poor results and he has fallen on his sword!
What the heck is wrong with Morgan? Why doesnt he spend the money that we had earmarked for a transfer ‘warchest’ in January and sack McCarthy and Connor…I appreciate what MM has done for wolves but hes gone stale now and they needsome new impetous!
Ray Wilkins heading up the new management team… He is bound to have picked up some ideas from working with Mourinho, Ancellotti, Hiddink Etc at Chelsea and I think he would have a crack at managing again if someone offered it him…

Once again the players come out after yet another dismal performance and back McCarthy, admitting it’s their fault and that they will turn things around.
Well Johnson, dig deep and refund the travelling fans who paid to watch you under-perform (yet again). That would be a start and an admirable gesture from the players and staff.
Reading Moxey’s notes in the programme lead me to believe he is still on another planet. He says that the Board, Staff and Players hurt just as much as the fans. Rubbish. It’s one thing to continually get paid for a bad performance, but another to actually continually PAY to watch it.
Anyone in any profession will tell you, that, until you actually part with hard earned cash for a dismal service, you are not ‘as hurt’.
Would any of the Board or Management pay to watch Wolves – I think not.
Still, as Moxey said at the end of his notes ‘It was our turn to win’. Me thinks someone just forgot to tell Liverpool.

What a load of rubbish! This owner and manager have seen this coming for a long time now and done diddly squat! Zero! Absolutley nothing! That’s the reason we are where we are! Mcarthy said the other day that we will do nothing this window and he was right! Almost! The club is a laughing stock now we have the worst manager and record in the prem bar Wigan. I think all the talk of what happened in the past is nonsesnse. It is in the past. We have been in this league for 3 seasons and all that has happened is giving the fans lies and fine sentiments, meaningless words! If he was a man of honour and of his word he should have done the right thing and walked! But with a spineless owner this is not going to happen! you reap what you sow!

Finchy, what game did you watch, Ebanks Blakke only touched the ball twice one to bring it down, the other to shoot against the post. If ever there is a classic lazy player he exemplifies it.
Fletcher somehow manages to get touches of the ball every few minutes. That’s the difference.
Most of the team is hiding right now. No confidence, they don’t want the ball and most of them look terrified when they get it.
With the execption of the two Johnsons/Jonssons this group of players is as good as any form abot 7th place down. But we have no plan no idea how to break the other team down. Do we even look at their team to find weaknesses during the run up to a game, or is it really, “Every body do what you can to stop them scoring and Fletch you see if you can score.”
One #$@%$%^^& shot on goal, at home, against a very ordinary Liverpool team ain’t gonna cut it. Not one player has improved under this managerial nincompoop. He has probably runied Kevin Doyle, Adlene, Milijas, Mancienne, and Frimpong must wonder what the hell he’s walked into.
Absolute circus, couldn’t care less if McCarthy Moxey and Morgan all went missing today and never showed up again.

First of all I’d like to thank Mick for everything he’s done for Wolves – and we should all be big enough to remember back to the Twaddle era and say that it’s a huge amount.
But it’s time to go now Mick.
We’ve simply lost all momentum over the last 12 months. We’re not making any sort of progress as a team and in fact have been going backwards fast for quite some time now.
The shame is that we’ve left it so long and there are few obvious replacements available at the moment.
But that can’t and shouldn’t stop the board from doing the right thing or Mick doing it for them.
It’s been great Mick. But it’s time to move on.
