Wolves boss Mick McCarthy bade a fond farewell to strikerAndy Keogh today after he joined Millwall on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

Keogh, who has snagged a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Championship outfit, ends a five year stay at Molineux where he played a key role in Wolves promotion to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old proved a key figure in Wolves’ finally making it to the Barclays Premier League, appearing in

“Andy was brilliant for us in helping us get promoted and played a key role in that season,” said Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.

“He’s not really featured for us too much in the Premier League, and is at a stage in his career when he needs to be playing regular football.

“We would like to thank him for his contribution at the club and wish him all the very best for the future.”

In total, Keogh made 129 appearances in Wolves’ colours, scoring 23 goals.
