Kevin Foley looking to foil rampant Reds

Kevin Foley insists he and his Wolves team-mates remain as confident as ever that they will survive their third successive fight for survival.

Wolves go into tonight’s home clash against a buoyant Liverpool hoping to give Molineux fresh cause for optimism.

And full-back Foley believes the team remain capable of pulling off the kind of wins which marked last season’s dramatic survival, even against opposition which has just tamed the two Manchester giants in back–to–back Cup ties.

He said: “We have always been confident we can get out of trouble. We were in the bottom three for long periods of last season and always felt we could get out of it, as we do now.

“No matter what the situation is, we stay positive and that makes a difference.

“We know that it’s what we do that counts and we will try to pick up enough points, starting tonight.

“We also know how important our home games are going to be. We’ve played a lot of the big teams away and have got them to come at home.

“They are going to be tough games but we can pull off results at home with the crowd behind us and we’ll need to do it between now and the end of the season.”

Foley takes particular heart in the sight of key figures returning from injury – especially his old partner on the right hand flank, Michael Kightly.

A fit-again Kightly registered his best form of his comeback in the last match against Villa.

Foley said: “I used to enjoy playing with him. We have had a good link-up in the past and it’s been good to play with him again for the last two or three games.”

What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
