Fit-again Jody Craddock close to Wolves call-up

Evergreen Wolves defender Jody Craddock today declared he is 90 minutes away from first-team availability.

The 36-year-old emerged unscathed after playing for just under an hour of Tuesday’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Burnley following his twice-injured hamstring.

Craddock is now looking forward to getting a full 90-minute run-out under his belt in Monday’s reserve clash against Fulham at AFC Telford to prove he is fully fit.

“I think I need to get 90 minutes under my belt now,” said Wolves’ longest-serving player.

“It was good to get 60 minutes and to get back into it but there’s another reserve game on Monday and I’ve put myself forward to hopefully play in that.

“I need to work hard to get up to match fitness and get rid of the niggles so I’m ready and available if needed. It will probably feel much better to come through 90 minutes – hopefully it can happen next Monday.”

Good news that might salvage our flagging season. Despite the big name signing of Johnson I still think Craddock is our best defender. I can understand that he wont be around forever so he probably isn’t first choice any more but he can still play an important role.

Maybe 3rd choice behind Berra who’s improved massively this season but ahead of Stearman. It will also give Johnson a bit of a boot that he needs with Craddock breathing down his neck. He knows now Mick will drop him for Craddock if he needs to as he has already done it once.

Just Zubes and O’hara to go and we will be back to full strength and where we should have started the season. I think as long as we don’t get any fresh worries we’ll get out of this mess. Plus Henry is banned for 3 games so that too is a bonus in my eyes.

Jody is a shining example of the good side of football.I have a strong feeling that this dedicated professional will along with Kites play huge roles in helping the Wolves to stay in the Premiership. Also in case anyone thinks I am a happy clapper I certainly am not and never will be one to have blind faith.

    Craddock is great.

Agree with 1 completely. Not sure how long he’ll stay fit, though. We do need more reliable defenders, though.

Foley and Craddock are good boosts.
Would be nice to get some experienced dependable premier league stalwart in for 2-3 seasons.
