Mick McCarthy: I believe in my players
Tuesday 24th January 2012, 11:00AM GMT.
Defiant boss Mick McCarthy today vowed Wolves’ current squad will lead the club to Premier League safety again this season.
Wolves dropped into the relegation zone for the first time in 2011-12 with Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Villa, increasing the pressure on McCarthy after two wins in 20 games.
But the Molineux chief has no doubts his players will guarantee a fourth successive top-flight season. “I still feel we’ll get out of it, with whatever we’ve got, and whatever we do, because I think we’ve got good players,” said the boss.
“They keep going and they will get us out of it. There’s nothing more that could have gone wrong against Villa.
“It has to turn because our lads work damned hard and they’re a great bunch.
“We just need to play like we did on Saturday, but not give a penalty away, not get one sent off and not get one carried off.
“And although Robbie Keane produced two great strikes, I still think their second goal should have been saved. During the match, though, I don’t know what more we could have done.
“That’s what’s difficult: You come in and say ‘we were set up alright, there were good performances, we had a 25-minute spell which was as good as anything we’ve seen and we could have killed the game at that stage’.
“Then little basic errors and a wonder strike cost us.”
McCarthy said his faith in his players remained undiminished, adding: “Absolutely. I’ve signed every one and there’s not one who would let me down intentionally.
“They’ve all got a great work ethic. I believe in the same group of players and getting the best out of them, and that’s what myself and Terry Connor will carry on doing. We might not have beaten Villa, but if we get the level of performance we did on Saturday, that’s all I can ask.
“We’ve got more chance of winning if we play like that.
“The way we played, not just against Villa, but against Arsenal, Bolton, Tottenham and Chelsea offers encouragement.”
And the Wolves boss said would carry on with the same methods.
“I’m not going to change anything – I’ve not got a magic wand to suddenly make everything right,” he said.

2 wins from the next 3 are a must! and we can easily do it! We need to stop thinking bad luck is against us! Even though it does to be. We make our own luck.. for example Berra and Henry! I’m positive we’ll get out of it now I’ve finally started to calm down after the weekend… Draw with Liverpool will be goo but I want wins against QPR to shut them and Barton up and a win against Baggies will make us all happy again =)
Regardless what the negatives say, I do think we have a strong team when fit.

Not going to change anything,so we have been in a relagation fight for 3 seasons now and your stupid enough to think you dont need to change anything! Problem is Mick the teams that have come up have probably surpised everybody and you dont know what to do. A bit like on saturday when Frimpong went off,u had no plan B. Ned is not good enough and slow as xams, thats what lost us the game! Your January star signing EGGERT was where, another waste of money. Mcleish got it right, changed things at halftime and his January STAR signing did what he was paid to do! All you lot that said he hasnt had money to spend,he has he just wastes it! Eggert is worse then Dave Davies and on 4 times the money. Any surprise that Surman is playing so well under a decent coach along with Bennett and many others. How many players in the finishing 11 were in our championship team…theres ur problem.

Weve all accepted for the the time being youre gonna stay Mick.
But please do us all a favour and try to get in a new coach.
Clipboard has had long enough to try to get things right on the pitch, but apart from the first half on saturday,he has got things dismally wrong.

Wake up Mick!! It’s not just hard work and desire alone that will get you out of this hole, but quality players with skill, a manager with tactical awareness and leaders on the pitch. The current Wolves team are lacking in all departments. Wolves fans are not fickle, but realists, nobody expects to be in top 6, but we do expect an attractive brand of football and not be embarrassed week in week out on live TV. The ambitions of the Mr Morgan off the field needs to be matched on it.. Mad Mick is not and never will be a ‘good’ Premiership Manager – He should have been sacked at half-time last match of last season Vs Blackburn. We’ve missed out on O’Neil & Hughes give me Kevin Keegan and I might just renew my ST for next year…..!!

Do the players believe in you though Mick, training and coaching methods are non existent, can’t pass don’t move, no geometry in the play. Get back to basics teach ball control, improve passing ability, give and go, pass the ball instead of running into blind alleys, play though midfield instead of huffball. Then we might be a good side or are these basic tactics to skilful for you.
Don’t need a magic wand just get back to basics nuff said.

Those ‘little basic errors’ have been costing us all season not just against Villa. With most the squad having at least 2 years Prem experience you expect them to control and hold onto the ball and string 3 passes together. The amount of times we’ve lost possession with sloppy passes and hoofing it up the pitch is maddening.

Well Mick we took 7 points from the first 3 matches, and 11 points from the next 19 matches. so if you are not going to change anything we will be relegated.

Some of the bile spouting keyboard warriors that come on here hurling abuse at Mick keed to get real. Mick has done wonders at this club and beleive it or not, he is doing wonders now. What you need to realise is that although this often quoted statistic of Wolves being high spenders is a myth. We may have spent the transfer fees but the reality is that we will not pay the wages that other clubs pay. The owner decides the budget and therefore the wages and Moxey implements it and Mick has to live with it. If a player is offered £60,000 a week at QPR, Newcastle, Villa, or wherever, he is going to take it. All of us would. Wolves pay half that, so to get to where we are is a miracle really, so if you want to moan, blame the chairman, not the manager.
It’s obvious now that Morgan has feathered his nest at the expense of the team but unless we suddenly get a new billionaire owner from somewhere nothing is going to change anytime soon.
In the meantime all fans can do is support the team which with the exception of the Swansea game has happened all season, and enjoy the ride.
We do have the players who are capable of getting out of this mess – they are the same ones who did it the last two seasons when lots of fans were saying we wouldn’t. Ok so we haven’t had the best of fortune in some games but, apart from QPR at home and Chelsea away, we have been in with a chance for the majority of other games. We are not getting ‘slapped’ as MM would say and,I believe, are not too far away from putting a few decent results together. If we keep key players fit, we WILL survive again!
I concede, however, that to progress up the table next season we need serious investment in the summer. Most of the players we have now we had in The Championship (and they have served us well) but there is a ‘ceiling’ to the talents of many of them. If the Board want to stick with Mick (and they should!) then they need to start backing him with serious funds for players.

So that is not just a shot that should have been saved, a bit of bad luck in a game, a dodgy referee’s decision.
2 wins out of 20, is a fundamental problem with the manager and team.
That is relegation form, its nothing else!!!!

None of you can argue with mick there… The lads have played better football this half of the season then they have in the previous 2 seasons. The whole prem has stepped up a level, and so have we, im not blaming anyone but we have dropped alot of points due to bad decisions and such. If some of the decisitions went our way we would of won 7-8 games and none of you would be saying this, its not micks fault, we have a good squad, and some great individuals, and yes we have some bad individuals also….

I dont think we need a new manager to add players, just to get the ones we have playing effectivley.

Be honest, what else could the guy say? Since July the party line has been that WWFC have players good enough to stay in the PL and that only minor strengthening is needed. It is impossible for MM to now say that various players are useless or sub-standard because that would be a reversal of the corporate line. It is obvious he is trying to hide the fact that he has no worthwhile money to spend and if he did who can WW afford that would come to Molineux anyway?
I understand the “sack the lot” complaints but it will not happen. If there was a better manager available what incentive would they have to come to WWFC? And please don’t give me the “big club” nonsense, WWFC have not been a big club for 20 years. There are 2 weeks of transfer window left, no obvious new signings or loans on the horizon and little cash. So why would a new manager or decent player even get involved in the dogfight?
With no money to spend MM has no choice but to stick with it. Sadly spirit is not enough and I think this is the season that proves to be true.

Same old story, hopes are lifted we’ll have a good season but in reality if you only sign one additional outfield player to last year what do the powers that be expect!New Stadium put on hold cus we’ll never fill it in the Championship! Apropos-An IPSOS poll is being taken from 9am to 16.00 today in various locations in the Wolverhampton area; The question being asked, “Should Wolves change Manager before the transfer deadline”; I was told by the man I spoke to that it is 87%-13% (1655 respondents as of 11.45 am), in favour of a change in manager now; I voted against a change, as in Mick I trust; But I was also told, as the poll was so unanimous, the sponsor is unlikely to publish the poll! Who might that be then?

Whilst I appreciate all that Mick’s done for the club in re-establishing it as a top-flight team, I do worry that he appears out of his depth at the minute. On the negative side we have no creativity in midfield, and consequently we are pretty one-dimensional. But perhaps more worryingly is that we can’t keep a clean sheet. On the positive side, however, Wigan, Bolton, and Blackburn are awful, so we might scrape through by default.

Sorry Mick if you think they are good enough(as it happens I dont think he really thinks they are!!)then you are seriously deluded. You only have to watch Frimpong to realise what a premiership player is. Fletcher,is another example.Foley ,Berra ,Ward ,Henry,Edwards are all good championship players. But if Mick isnt given the cash to pay the necesssary wages ,his hands are tied.I have come to the conclusion the club is run soley for the benefit of Mr Morgan and as long as we make a profit he couldnt care less which division we are in.
When he tells us how much cash he has spent,it is a complete red herring. The all important thing is the wage level you will pay. James Mcfadden ,free transfer ,went elsewhere.Robbie Keanne ,no transfer fee there either. They wont sack Mccarthy, not because they think he is doing a good job,but because of the cost of getting rid of him. When things are going wrong you can tell how badly a club wants to survive in a division. Look at QPR and Sunderland this year and WBA last season. Okay the new managers might have made no difference ,but at least the people running the clubs TRIED to improve things.

I don’t like the sack him school of thought with managers but I can’t see what else there is left to do now. The problem is who do you replace him with? It has to be a very experienced manager who can cope with the pressure and motivate the same set of players that Mick has.
There aren’t many around and now is not the time for an ‘up and coming’ manager, a replacement would have to hit the ground running. The first to spring to mind is Neil Warnock not my favourite but he’s always passionate, a fighter and experienced. He didn’t do great at QPR but the ‘new manager’ effect that usually happens might be enough to keep us up. Glenn Roeder was always very under rated and he’s around the corner now at Villa as chief scout.
Failing that Hoddle’s still out of work!! On second thoughts maybe sticking with Mick’s not such a bad option after all?

Mixed emotions and thoughts. Mick you are in ways to be respected but you do not now have what it takes. Of course you must rally the troops but at the same time don’t expect people not to see through the clubs forlorn attempts to occupy premiership levels of quality, on the pitch.
We do have some quality: Frimpong yiddle Eye poh for one; Hennessey; Fletcher, but not too much else. The folly of not putting Berra to graze in the summer is revealed. Too many Championship level players and we are clearly taking on water.

In order to secure 40 points for the season( a figure normally regarded as keeping a team in the Prem) we would have to secure 45per cent of the remaining points available. To date, after 22 games we have secured only about 25per cent of the points available. There has to be a massive and immediate turnaround in our fortunes to have any chance of accomplishing this goal starting with Liverpool!!!
Given our persistent ability to leak goals and our lack of goalscoring makes achieving a 45 per cent pickup of points look like a tall order.
MM takes full responsibility for all of the players that have been brought into the squad. And he claims he will only bring in new players that can make an immediate impact and improvement to the team. While this guy Eggert may be a potential prospect he hardly falls into the category of being an impact player!!! Frimpong was an excellent pickup but lets be real he is a loan player not an acquisition. And it is rumored he wants Mancienne back!!! That guy has played in only 8 games in the Bundesliga and could not break into the Chelsea team – hardly an impact player!!! The transfer window is soon to close and we appear to have not one player in focus so it is up to this squad to get the job done. I really hope they can get it done but we need a 100 percent plus improvement in results for the remainder of the season with no room for slip ups.

Well said No.17 Bewdley; I echo your sentiments.
I’m sure Mick’s wishlist would consist of players we all would like but without the financial clout to operate at this level, we have to shop accordingly.
Admittedly, if major funds and a wage increase policy was made available to the manager then his judgement would certainly need major scrutiny.
I believe Saturday’s first half performance was the best under his tenure. We can not legislate for happened there after. Frimpong has mad an immense impact and we are lucky to get him. Mick would have been instrumental in that.
For all those who want him out now, who would you replace him with ? I sure as hell can’t see anyone better equipped to stand up to this challenge!
I was as gutted as every one else at the weekend…but after a few days reflection and knee jerk reactions, I still believe that McCarthy is getting the most out of the players he has, yes he’s made some bad signings but all managers do, the players he has are the ones we can afford, and unfortunately unless they are playing to their best form we will lose games because they simply aren’t as skilful as most premiership players, I believe McCarthy gets every drop out of them and if he doesn’ t they don’t play.
We can’t or won’t pay high wages so we are always shopping at the cheaper end of the market, we all know that don’t we?
We MUST remember that MM is the only manager that has got us promoted and kept us there in recent years, he deserves a lot more respect than some fans give him, yes we’re frustrated but be careful who we shoot when we’re looking for a reason
Liverpool have 2 games before we play them, one against United, I think next Tuesday could be our day if we all pull together
Report abuse
If the board were going to get rid of MM they should have done it before Christmas then the new guy could have done some business in the January window. If they sack Mick now, who would come to Molineux with the prospect of not being able to bring players in and potentially being relegated? Problem facing the team now is that they have got to find at least 20 to 22 points, 6 or 7 wins from the games we have left looks to be a big ask. I believe Mick’s ethos is to buy younger less experienced players, he is not in the business of having his methods questioned by more experienced players (remember Roy Keane at the World Cup?). So now the club has little choice but to stick with Mick and pray that we stay in this league. God help us if we go down.
I would cast you Mick under several of your made up categories, numpty, idiot, heroic failure to name but a few. Its not just Mick we need rid of its the whole backroom staff, coaches, scouts, the lot. Tell me one of them who has done a decent job? A new manager with a recognised right hand man, backroom staff and scouting system to come in and turn things round, urgently.

when you say the team are herioic failures Im sorry but there are no heroes in that team just average players many of only championship quality and the only failures are you and clip board !
The reason i say this is because in the last 3 years the team have hardly progressed and in fact may have even gone backwards to a degree.
you have failed to address the problem areas in the team and brought in some very sub standard players your lastest aquisition being a perfect example.
Why do you never look at players like kevin nolan he would have been ideal for us an actual midfield player that scores goals?
Another major problem is that we have no-one on the bench when the chips are down who can change a game unlike some of the other strugglers in the league.
i like many others may now be considering not renewing my season ticket as the prospect of watching the likes of barnsley and co at the mol does`nt fill me with excitement!!!

I believe in my players (that probably means that nobody else will be arriving in this transfer window)! Wigan have just bought a midfielder from the Blues for £4 million and are in talks with (supposedly one of our targets) Maynard at Bristol City for a fee of £2.2 million. This is the team thats below us, trying to do something while they can to get out of the relegation zone. So what are we doing about getting out of that same zone? Zilch as far as I can see. If we can’t sign any players and won’t sack MM, then at least get a decent assistant manager in to help MM, Ray Wilkins would be ideal in my opinion.

Now, WE PLAY GOOD FOOTBALL, eventhough we SPEND VERY LITTLE, and we SURVIVE, and might do better still. Remember, the only change since last season has been Johnson for Craddock. Not a lot, Craddock’s a good player, so however good Johnson it wasn’t going to improve us that much.

playing well for 20 minutes a game is not whats needed – quality players keep concentration and play for 90 mins+ – the bottom team players arent massively different in ability from the mid table players but they make more mistakes and fall asleep more often – its regularly said on the golf circuit the top players are all the same quality but the top players are the best mentally able and prepared – if you keep making mistakes and switching off you deserve to be at the bottom – not referees decissions/not luck etc etc etc – and remember because someone switched off in the first minute Saturday (first minute!!) Gardener could have scored for vile.

Regarding failures the only failures at present are YOU AND CLIP BOARD!!
you have failed to address problem areas in the team and one major problem is that unlike some of the other strugglers in the league we have no-one on the bench who can change a game.
Unfortunately, i like many others are now considering whether or not to renew our season tickets as the prospect of playing the like of Barnsleys etc doesn`t float my boat!!

Blind faith is dangerous. “It has to turn, because my players are working hard” – that guarantees nothing!
Only Wigan have a worse full-strength first XI than we have. Bolton and Blackburn are gaining confidence from good wins, and the mid-table pack are pulling away already. We need three wins to overhaul Albion! How dangerous is that?
We haven’t got a player like Robbie Keane, who can score goal like that, and that’s our problem. Only Edwards and O’Hara look like midfield goal threats, and when you add in Steven Fletcher it leaves nothing else.
The bottom line is that we haven’t got a clutch of poorer teams below us to save our skin, like the last two seasons. We look very ordinary and incapable of stringing wins together. I have to say, this Premiership lark is soulless and unenjoyable when the guy in charge still sticks with the same squad that just about got us out of the Championship three years ago.

Mick’s said nothing I wouldn’t expect him to say. As boss, he simply HAS to back his players, motivate them and instil confidence. It’s his job, is it not? Just because I’m rapidly losing the will to live thanks to being subjected three years of negative, insipid, dull, Neanderthal football doesn’t mean that Mick and the boys should give up hope -I want to be proved wrong in my genuine that belief we’re doomed.
Mick, the mess we’re in isn’t all of your fault, aer kid, and the sensible amongst us know that. You’re just a very limited manager with a very limited squad who’s out of his comfort zone in the Premier League and we appreciate that, Mick. You’re also hindered by having Terry Connor as your sidekick -a bloke who’s survived more managers than a prozzer has regular customers. Then there’s Fat Cat Moxey whose main, twin interests in life are basketball and acquiring big bonuses for himself. Moving on to Big Chief Morgan…well, he’s fiddling while Rome burns and is oblivious to your -and the squad’s- shortcomings. There again, he knows you’re simply glad to be in a job at this level, so what does he care as long as bricks and mortar take priority?
Anyway, keep lifting those players, Mick. As always, the club will receive my full and undying support. Unlike some, I’ve never taken my negativity or sense of despair inside Molineux because it’s counter-productive for all concerned. My heart never rules my head though…

Agree Villa was a much improved performance and if we plyaed like that every week no-one would be calling for Mick’s head, but for Mick to include Bolton away, Chelsea at home and Arsenal away in the same breath is ridiculous. We fought hard at Arsenal but played very little football. Bolton away we were dreadful for large parts and they were there for the taking. Chelsea at home we again played little football and created very little from open play.
To move on to become an established Premier League team, I sadly believe we need to rebuild with a fresh hungry young manager.

56 – above- Clear off back to Tesco you muppet.
Anyway, that’s made me feel better!! Being objective and assuming Mick is going to be with us until the bitter end then we might as well accept it. I believe 37 points might just keep us up this season. So- as an absolute minimum I would want us to be on 35 points BEFORE we go to Wigan on the last day.So, this means 17 points are required in the next 15 games. This is NOT an impossible task although the win ratio obviously needs to be improved. On the plus side none of the away games are against top 6 sides- so there may be some points there. We have Bolton, Blackburn and Tesco at home. Maybe some points there. Perhaps a shock win against one of the big boys at home may help as well. So yes, I agree with a lot of people on here that maybe Mick has took us as far as he can, but if we are stuck with him then we are stuck with him. Let’s just keep clear heads and remember that we are not down yet. There’s a long way to go. WWFC FOREVER !

Ofcourse MM won’t change, because he doesn’t have another idea. His inability ,Moxey’s salary capping, the boards weakness and Morgan’s inexperience will finally be our undoing. It was obvious we needed investment in ‘significant’ players at the end of last season. The club has suffered from poor judgement and decision making from the leadership. Reg has supported all his life, 85 years, but recognises that three of our current forwards ‘couldn’t hit a cow’s ass with a banjo’, ( Doyle, Ebanks and Keogh ). MM said we would go for impact players in this window and is rumoured to want ‘The return of the Manc ‘!Good grief !Henry let the whole club down when responsibilty was required, but apologised to the players. Well, that’s ok then !If MM doesn’t use Jonsson to relace KH then why buy him? If that should happen wouldn’t it have been better to invest the half million in Robbie Keanne for 2 months. We would already be 3 pts better off! However, I can’t blame MM for Jarvis supplying crosses for the opposition. Trying to be balanced but it is virtually impossible.St Peter’s bell may soon be tolling.

Surely those supporting MM can’t be watching the same old mistakes been made by the same players, who MM bought and be happy with what they are watching. The standard of football is at best Championship standard. The fact is that at this level endeavour and hard work alone is not enough. Yes the players work hard but sadly too many are not good enough.
At this stage I doubt a change of manager will make any difference. Martin O’Neil has made a difference at Sunderland because he is an excellent manager and he has got players who are good enough, but were just not performing for Bruce. We just don’t have players good enough to keep us up.
I hope this team prove me wrong otherwise its championship football next season.

For the past few years the firm have been trying to grab a share of the high street sales but unless the quality improves the custmers will start to stay away from the shop. Dear Mick
I have been on record for the last 3 years supporting you because I have felt that many fans have unresonably criticised every move you have made.
Their vehemence has destroyed previous managers, the team and the club’s success because the effect is to demoralise everyone who needs to maintain the positive mental attitude that is critical to the survival of the Club in the Premier.
I have felt that managerial continuity is vital to long term success. Quick fixes of new managers do not always work and Sir Alex is a testimony to the long term.
I have always respected you for the achievements, promoton from the Championship when you took over a non existant team and for keeping us in the Premier for the last two seasons.
I have not cared that you have made mistakes, because everyone does. Ultimately, it is about results and until recently you have delivered.
However, I now feel that your position is untenable. It is not your fault, nor an issue of your ability or achievements. It is simply the fact that the fans are so negative, it is impossible for you to remain in charge and to keep us in the Premier. Even if by a miracle, we stay up, your life will be hell next season.
ITS TIME TO GO MICK.

Noble comments from MM and exactly what you would expect him to say. However, let’s not forget this is a competition with big rewards and dire consequences for failure. Our form is the second worst in the Premiership and we are now odds on favourites for relegation and the vast majority of fans who know about football will recognise this and it’s absurd to suggest that neither Steve Morgan or Jez Moxey don’t recognise it also. Considering the lack of player movement and lack of urgency along with the decision to postpone the ground expansion it’s fair to assume that there is now preparation Going on for the Championship. Plenty of revenue earned but back to square one in terms of league status but at least Micks happy.

Fair enough Mick you’re standing by the players and you are positive about a fourth consecutive year in the Prem. All good news.
However the measure of the task is set out by Mike Pearson #43, in that essentially we need 40 points or near as dammit by season’s end. Which basically means 5 wins and 5 draws with an all-to-play-for away to Wigan on 13 May. Ok. But to get those 38 – 40 points from where we are now, we need a win and draw from every three played. That ain’t been happening and yes we have been unlucky. So from where the change around?
Maybe we’ll have a change of fortune, and I certainly hope we do, but you can’t just depend on that to sort out our season. We do need a massive turnaround in play and results and I can’t see that happening with a hit and hope approach. We will have to make our own luck and that surely means strengthening the team further in this window to achieve what I assume is still Plan A – staying in the darned division.
So message to Moxley, sign up the (third) player we’re supposed to be after, especially if his name is Jones, and get a fourth for good measure to drive the midfield. Defence, what can I say – just give them a good talking to.
Big ask this one, but where there’s life…

It’s never been about confidence or ‘bad luck’. It’s always been about the lack of genuine quality in the squad -and that’s why we’re deep in the s**t.

Hi Mick, I don’t really understand what you are believing in or standing by whichever WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERS is an asset base company expanding in property development.
The team that should be high on the agenda comes very much second; it was a very good football club that has been reorganised into a business where most including you received substantial salaries.
There has to be a problem with the level of talent or the management of that talent, this is all based on the goals against, goals for, points gained and the position in the league.
Unless you do something about it as manager we will go down, 3 seasons being at the bottom must tell you something about what you believe in surly, they can’t suddenly grow talent overnight you are looking for something that is not there.

Maybe a spell in the Championship would do us good…we could get back to winning ways. Get some big players in when it’s certain we are going back to the EPL. Maybe I’m just trying to make up excuses. The majority of Saturday’s first half was fantastic football by us. But I kept dreading the ‘backpass’ and knew it would be coming. I did notice Adelene pick the ball up with no intention of going backwards – what a relief. I don’t think he is our solution to midfield but at least his determination could be infectious. I do wish we would get tighter to their players and didn’t give them so much time on the ball. No one does it to us and it exposes how badly we pass when under pressure. We could manage to survive but I’m starting to think it may be TC who needs replacing as coach – on the plus side, did anyone else think he didn’t put in a bad performance at Matt Murray’s testimonial? I say easily do it because I 100% beleive that our team is better than WBA and QPR and these two games are what I was refering to in my post! Putting bad desissions and luck aside I think we have played really well over our spell of draws and should have drawn with Chelsea.
Also I support wolves and I beleive that they can win any game if I didn’t beleive that whats the point in going to the matches? because I want them to loose?
This 2 wins from 20 stat that has become popular this week to help aid the negatives argument is a good way of forgetting and brushing aside the draws and good performances to get them.
You may think I’m blind to stats or just blind faith in the team I don’t know and don’t care. All I care about is SUPPORTING my team and getting behind them. I’m not kidding my self we were in a worse situation last year and we managed to get out of it and I beleive we will do it again this year.

Nah, I’m not happy with everything, but il still back this manager and this squad while they’re about. Four words for all those saying Mick has done wonders with the budget at his disposal. Norwich, Swansea, West Brom. It can be done.
Now how does Mick go about emulating these teams?
1. Do not try and defend a lead for 45 minutes. If we are on top, then try to stay on top by keeping doing the same things. Whenever we try to defend a lead we concede. Normally late on.
2. A coaching staff of 4 (including a goalkeeping coach and development coach) is a joke in this day and age. Bring in some more help/expertise.
3. Then coach the players to be comfortable on the ball when they have it and to move into space when they don’t have it.
4. Let Hen throw the ball to our players rather than hoofing it fo 70 yards.
5. Use what budget you do have to get some pace into the squad. Make counter attacking an option rather than non stop last ditch defending on our 18 yard line.
After 3 years we really shouldn’t be in the position where such basics are not in place/being done.
If Mick can’t/won’t change, thinks that keeping on trying is good enough and that there’s nothing he can change, then he should be sacked in the morning.
Here’s the basic fact in all this.
We have 11 points from the last 19 league games. That’s half a season. Eleven points from half a season. Extrapolate that over a season, that’s 22 points. That’s not relegation form, that’s an absolute calamity. It’s not bad luck and laudable effort, it’s a straight-up farce and to claim otherwise is either disingenuous or plain bonkers. The buck stops with the manager, and the manager is presiding over a horror show – and you simply cannot, after a run as appalling as that, reason that it’s just going to suddenly change because “they’re a great bunch of lads.” It’s wonderful that they’re good blokes, that you all get along so well, that the board seem to be behind you – but as it stands, we’re going to get relegated with a vengeance. You need to go, Mick, but I suspect that even if you do, it’s too late.

Cannot beleive the lack of action by the Wolves board. Now is the time for action before ant more damage is done to this great club. I know options are limited but we need a new manager fast. 2 wins from 20 games just isnt good enough. But how many of those 20 games have we been denied wins by really poor decisions. I can count at least 3 where we have had goals dissalowed, penalties not given, or even ridiculous red cards.
Regardless of performances, tactical knowledge or any of that nonesense, we have clearly been denied points from poor decisions. These are things that Mick nor the players can do anything about. Had half those decisions gone for us, we would be clear of the relegation zone at this point.
I dont want to make excuses for the team, as we have been our own worst enemey many times this seasons and had the performances been to the standard we all expect, we would be well clear of the relegation zone by now, and thats something Mick and the players have to take responsibility for, but if the team does start performing the way they can consistantly, we wont go down. Mick knows that, Morgan knows that, I know that, and I think anyone that has watched this team at their best will know that.
A new manager may well be able to get something extra from these players, similar to what O’neil has done at sunderland, then again, a new manager may well make us worst than what we have witnessed this season. theres no gaurentees, just like theres no gaurentees with sticking with Mick, but anyone with any footballing sense will know the players have underacheived this season. Many influential players have been nowhere near their best, which happens in football. I think if theres any manager capable of getting the team back to its best though, its Mick, but he needs to be brave enough to make certain changes, as what hes been doing so far, clearly hasnt been working.

In addition to my reply above I forgot to mention that I have waited for Wolves to be in the premiership for so long and I don’t want to waste time being negative and down on the team I want to enjoy every game and that’s what I’m doing (qpr home game a side)… I missed us in the premier league last time in 2003 because I wasn’t in the country and could only watch highlights over internet. So for 2 and a half seasons now I have enjoyed PL football and will continue to do so regardless of what happens!
#112 – PeteNuts,
What your talking is Maths… your forgetting that this isn’t Maths class its SPORT!! anything can happen and will happen you can’t just divide the season in half get your tally for the season! But I like the way you have done it wrong to prove your point! If you go to half the season you will see we had 17 points at the halfway stage and by your calculations double that you get 34 not 22 points so doesn’t quite look so calamitous now does it? Adding the ‘Sports’ factor I mentioned above and you could say we get more than 34 points or less depends how you look at the world I guess =)….
I used to enjoy your witty comments but lately they have gone a bit to serious and negative… these forums need some humor to lift the spirits.

This outpouring of disaffection may well be the culmination of many weeks’ frustration, combined with your predetermined belief that you have a divine right to be a Premiership fixture based on your historic achievements; however the result against Villa was thanks to a combination of freakish or unfortunate (for you) factors.
You came back from an early goal down to batter them, then suffered three key setbacks: Frimpong, who looked like he was running the show, got injured; Henry’s red mist meant red card; and Keane gave a master class in goal scoring.
You had played well. You played well against Arsenal and Spurs. You should have got something from Chelsea. Ok Blues was poor but you’re not a million miles off. I don’t watch you every week so maybe that’s a simplistic view, but I watch some games on TV or online and not through gold & black specs and it seems to me there is some reason to believe.
Your keeper’s good, Fletcher is a talismanic goal scorer, Frimpong looks to have brought exciting fresh impetus, Jarvis can be top class and if you can keep Kightly going, he looks good. Get O Hara back and he offers something too. Your defence does look a bit iffy it’s true, but you’ve got some goals in the team.
Sack Mick and who do you realistically expect to replace him with? There may be people out there who have won more or who play nicer football or who are tempting on paper. But are they suitable? You need somebody who will fit in to your set-up and ethos. Or risk ending up with someone like Hoddle again. Benitez, Keegan? Really? Moyes? Behave yourselves. Lambert / Rodgers? Unlikely. An up and coming lower league manager? Always a big risk element. Will the grass be greener if you get your wish and MicMac gets the sack?

Story for bedtime;
April 21st- Man City roll into town needing 3 points to confirm the Title; a defeat will confirm relegation for Wolves, who have won just 6 games all season. The home side put in a valiant 1st half display, but City go in front just before the break and run in a further 4 goals without reply in the second 45.
Scroll on to Summer 2012; having reaffirmed the Club’s faith in McCarthy and his squad to take the Championship by storm, Wolves promptly sell Hennessey, O’Hara, Jarvis and Fletcher for around £20m. Moxey announces that the transfer money will be ‘ringfenced’ as a buffer to insure against losses from TV revenue and disappointing season ticket sales.
Wolves start the season with no new arrivals, but Moxey points to the fact that most of the squad consists of players who won the Championship 4 years previously, and claims that they are capable of a similar feat this time.
Scroll on to mid September 2012. Wolves have lost all 4 of their opening matches, the players and management apparently suffering from a collective ‘losing mentality’ after 3 years of struggle. On an unseasonably wet and cold Tuesday night, with TV showing Man City v Barcelons in the Champions League, just 10,000 show up at Molineux to watch Wolves battle out a goaless draw against 2nd from bottom Milwall. McCarthy claims in his post-match interview, ‘I have every faith in my players, and wouldn’t do anything differently’.

Again, our fundamental problem is lack of passion and investment from the owner. Leaving Moxey in charge is a farce and letting him speak in public is comical, but really, if there is no drive from the very top, (and it is more than apparent that there is not), then please sell to someone who has that drive and passion. Yes this is a business, but you are dealing with “clients” who also see this as part of their lives, so act upon that and do what is needed, even if it might be uncomfortable for five minutes. We need new players (you have one week) and a new manager. It’s very plain for everyone to see.

Like most wolves fans i remember last time we where promoted under dave jones all summer i kept waiting to see who we would sign then it dawns on you we wont make any big name signings .The same now applys to mick.Moxey runs the club as a business not as a football club thats where the problem lies.Morgan is happy for him to do it.The players try there best but they are after all championship level mick as now hit a brick wall cant get any more out of them and as no money to spend Moxey is the maine problem in the mess we are in .forever wolves

108 – (Finchy) Sure, go to every game knowing we’re in with a chance of winning -doesn’t everybody? I know I do. That said, there’s a huge difference between reality and expectation -and trust me, I know that only too well after 45 years’ loyal support that’s been filled with more heartache than you could shake a stick at.
There’s no such thing as an “easy” game in this league and our pathetic record of 4 wins in 22 Prem games cannot be ignored, no matter how much it may hurt you personally. Yes, we’ve played well of late (in patches) -but still no wins, and that’s the ONLY currency that counts if we’re to survive. The table never lies and I never lie to myself about our chances, either.
Still, your over-confidence in beating QPR and the Steptoes is admirable -if a little misplaced in my view- but I sincerely hope you’re right, bud. 114 – (Noisy) Either I expressed myself incorrectly and gave the wrong impression or you misunderstood me, Noisy.
To clarify, I wasn’t saying that we can “just point at another club and say – ‘we’ll have your manager’”. No, I was merely endorsing Streako’s selection of Chris Hughton as the kind of boss I’d much rather have at Molineux. That’s why I said “he was the guy I was hoping Mick would make way for before Blues snaffled him”. There’s no mention of ‘pinching’ him off Blues in my post -nor did I mean to imply that we should. Mind you, if Wolves decided to make an approach, it wouldn’t worry me, lol!
Seriously though, it’s a non-starter, as we both know. Well, at least until the season’s over and, of course, if Blues are still marooned in the Championship? ;-)

*MM: So, there’s nothing imminent, but we’re keeping trying. “But it’s got to be something as good or better to improve the team, not just someone to fill the squad.”
What a comment! Anyone of the “targets’ would be better than most in the squad surely. Where is the Egg? Just filling the squad I presume (not). Another 600,000K invested.
*MM 2: “The fact we were in the bottom three for nearly all last season means we’ve just got to believe we can get out of it”. We just need to play like we did on Saturday, but not give a penalty away, not get one sent off and not get one carried off.
If only it was that simple Mick. Unfortunately, there are more things in heaven and hell.
*MM3: The Wolves boss said would carry on with the same methods.
“I’m not going to change anything – I’ve not got a magic wand to suddenly make everything right,”
What sheer arrogance. MM obviously believes that everything he has done such as playing people out of position, playing favourites, adopting incorrect tactics (what tactics?), making substitutions 2 minutes from the final whistle, making defensive substitutions when loosing etc. No but you have had the past 3 seasons and look what has been achieved!

I will back Mick if he stays but if he does go he will always get a very warm reception from everyone at the club for what he has achieved.
It is a minor miracle we are even competing at this level as clubs such as Newcastle, QPR, Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan and even Albion have a higher wage structure than us. Morgan is right that we are the only club in the Prem with no debt but it is very hard for any Manager to compete for signings when they are offered far more money elsewhere. Look at the examples:
Scott Dann – Preferred Wolves to Blues but Blues contacted him during the medical and offered 6k more a week.
Roger Johnson – Preferred the Wolves but Blues out bid us and their bid was accepted.
Craig Gardner – We matched Sunderlands offer and Gardner talked to us and Sunderland offered him 15 a week more!
This is what Mick is up against and I think the wage structure should be increased but only in the way of performance related bonuses to get the best out of players. WE ARE WOLVES.
Ray Wilkins has to be brought into the club immediately. He is one of the best Coaches in the game.
I’ll always back the Manager and the players but if you were Morgan and Moxey who would be your potential replacement if results didn’t improve?
I think the only potential replacements should be for an up and coming young Manager who would offer the club a long-term solution and only 5 names spring to mind in Malky Mackay, Chris Hughton, Brendan Rodgers, Paul Lambert and Karl Robinson.
148 – (Finchy) You ask, “How is this sensitive?” Allow me to explain. You said: “I don’t know and I don’t care” (regarding what I think, that is). Erm, why the need to make that statement? I mean, nobody actually said (or even implied) that you SHOULD care about what I think. Hell, I know I didn’t, lol! So, you appeared touchy. Secondly, you felt compelled to give me a long list of things that demonstrate your love of Wolves and your trust in them. Fair enough, I’ve no problem with that and I respect your views. However, they’ve got absolutely nothing to do with the core question that I posed you. I asked why you’re so convinced that we’ll win two of the next three games “EASILY” and nothing more. The key word here is “EASILY”, Finchy, because there’s nothing to suggest we’ll win them “EASILY” -hence my question. It’s disrespectful to the Steptoes and QPR, too, unless you believe they’ll simply roll over? Sure we have a chance, my friend, but “EASILY”? Come on, that’s blind faith!
By the way, don’t classify me as a “numpty”, old pal. As most people know, I’m neither ‘pro’ nor ‘anti-Mick’ and never have been. I’m firmly middle ground. Of course, by doing so, you’re again showing tendencies towards ‘sensitivity’. Re-read Post 102 and note that my began with the words “With genuine respect”. Try showing a fellow Wolves fan the same cordiality instead of labelling anyone holding a differing view as a mere “numpty”. Civility costs nothing, you know.

We really are clutching at straws when the likes of Fotheringham and Mancienne are considered, from what I have seen Eggert is no better than we have when the likes of Wigan Blackburn Bolton and QPR are pulling out the stops to buy quality,it will be just like Wolves to sell a quality player like Hammill to one of our main rivals Wigan and for him to score against us in the last match of the season and send us down.

Mark Albrighton doesnt like being brandished a cheat. Well maybe he shouldnt roll around like hes been shot from what can only be described as a tap. You can clearly see that Henry didnt put any force in his back heel, and ive seen people get broken legs with less theatrical moments than what he did on saturday. Hes supposed to be a professional footballer who will without doubt be honing his physical shape every week in training. If he just got up holding his chest and complained, I dont think anyone would have brandished him a cheat, but his reaction was a farce.
It was a clear red, but lets be honest, Albrightons commiting the innitial foul, and I have no idea whatsoever why the ref didnt blow the whistle straight away and brandish him a yellow for a deliberate foul trying to prevent us from progressing with the ball. Did we really have any chance of an advantage when he prevented us from playing for at least 2 seconds which allowed his team mates to get back in numbers? I was just as frustrated as Karl Henry, and yes it was utter stupidity to kick him, but it could have been prevented with a better ref.

YOSB & Streako – no offence intended , you are so polite as always YOSB. As I said, I like Chris Hughton too, but very much doubt if he would walk away from Blues. I think some managers in the past (McGhee most notably in our case) have regretted showing a complete lack of loyalty to a club as they are later trying to encourage others to do the opposite. Would we really want anyone who would abandon their club at this time of the season? Hence a limited supply of managers who are either a) out of work or b) in lower leagues and could justify a move to a ‘big club’
Also many of the names would want to spend money and even if there was any they won’t have time.
The continual calls for Ray Wilkins don’t seem all that credible either – I expect he gets paid more by Sky than we would offer, no idea if he has ties but with all the people mentioned who have been out of work for a while you think they would have a job if they wanted one.
So although I am coming round to thinking Mick is not moving us forward (whether it’s his fault or not) I think everyone is also thinking we are in it with him till the end of the season.
Streako – I’m sure you have been there when fights have broken out in the crowd over this sort of stuff before (I was biting my tongue with a guy infornt of me going mental at Robbie Keane and clapping Karl Henry off last week). This will be a disaster for the club in every way, so let’s keep it all civilised!

#157 – Ye Olde South Ban.
When I referred to your fellow numpties I was referring to the tone of your latest posts seeming to be negative. I read these forums and I know you are usually on the fence with your views.
I know there is no such thing as an easy game in this league im not stupid, but people tend to forget this when it comes to teams facing the Wolves… judging by most of the comment son hear there is such thing as an easy game and thats when the opposition is the supposedly supported team WW. I did say in my post that maybe it is a little blind faith, but who cares? circumstances regarding the leadership of wolves will not change, that has been made very clear by the board. So instead of being negative I’m trying to inject a bit of positivity into this forum and get behind my team. Easily win…? maybe not but my heart says yes. Disrespectful to QPR and Steptoes…. absolutely, since when do wolves care about the feelings of WBA? and QPR… well there my second most hated team at the moment so all disrespect is warranted in my opinion.
I did not your ‘genuine respect’ comment and I apologise if my reply came across in an attacking way, it was not intended, as I said I know who posts and I know that you’re no Streako =)

162 – (Finchy). Okay, understood, and your kind apology is accepted. Yes, cordiality is indeed a two-way street and that’s why I refrain from labelling individual fans as Happy Clappers or Numpties -unless they actually refer to themselves as such, in which case we’re all at liberty to use the term in specific cases, agreed? Lol!
Regarding Albi*n, trust me, we’re on the same side. The ‘respect’ I mentioned applies only insomuch that they can play excellent football at times and certainly carry a threat that we must be wary of -especially since it’s an unpredictable Black Country Derby game we’re talking about. I can’t overlook our poor record against them in recent years, nor the fact that they’re a much better side away from home, hitting hard on the break…the same as Villa, really. We’re no great shakes at home and the onus will be on us to press…so, I’m cautious, hence the ‘respect’. As our biggest rivals, though…hell, I’ve got no respect for them at all. They can kiss my a**e, Finchy!

161 – (Noisy) No offence taken, mate, and thanks for the kind words. I do try to be polite wherever possible, Noisy, so it’s nice to be recognised for that. Besides, we’re all passionate Wolves fans wanting the same thing for our club. Anyway, it seems that me, you and Streako are all admirers of Chris Hughton -and with very good reason.
I agree with you that some of us would inevitably question the ethics of a boss prepared to jump ship, mid-season. Different matter entirely once the season’s over, though! Even then, I’m not convinced Chris would abandon his latest rebuilding project (assuming Wolves also survived the drop, that is). The financial woes of Birmingham City and the highly publicised problems afflicting their owner only add uncertainty into the mix. So, it’s hard to know how Chris would react to an approach from Wolves -assuming Blues gave permission, of course- simply because of the many variables. Suffice to say that if Wolves WERE to make an end of season move for him, I’d be delighted.
Oh, and you’re right: Mick is going nowhere for the moment, Noisy. A bit of released, pent-up frustration on here is probably therapeutic, nevertheless. Lol ;-)

174 YOSB – some of my post reflected a very recent check up concerning one or two health issues which suggest I may not make ‘old bones’, or in my case, very old bones! Believe it or not when I walked from the surgery one of the numerous mournful thoughts I had was that if MM stays, the next few games could be the last I see/know with Wolves in the Prem, and it was quite depressing.
However, as I headed for a pub (where else?) I suddenly realised that if that wasn’t bad enough MM could be the last manager of the old gold and black I will ever see, and as I pushed the door open I was gutted – but, when I eventually left the pub, MM was going to get the bullet, Wolves were staying up and I’d got at least twenty years left in me!!! Hahahaha, thank heaven’s for the 5% stuff, and as MM’s still there I’m going again tomorrow!! :))

Morning, Sue (and Noisy, Finchy, Streako and anyone else of gold-blooded persuasion).
Tut, tut, Sue! I see your adrenalin flows at the mere thought of punch-ups, lol! And yes, it was a case of battling rival supporters not so long ago. Erm, actually, it does still take place of course -but well away from Molineux as a rule (as we all probably know). Streako’s got a decent chance of being proved right about in-fighting, as I said previously. No, I do NOT condone it, but let’s face it, I’ve turned 50, I’ve seen it all down the Wolves (pretty much) and I know what our volatile fans are like when they get rubbed up. If things continue indefinitely as they are, I’d say it’s only a matter of time before we see flashpoints between our fans. Over dramatic? No. We’ve seen it all before and we’ll see it again if history teaches us anything. Passions often run very high at the Wolves, Sue, and it’s that passion which is both the club’s Achilles Heel yet also its strength. On a lighter note (and boy, do we need a bit of light relief!), do you think Moxey might be wise to issue a pair of boxing gloves to each fan entering new North bank -instead of Batman capes for wet weather, I mean? We could employ Queensberry Rules and invite Jez to patake in the fisticuffs, too. Mick would probably be up for it too, because he’s already said so, remember? Heh, heh! ;-)
Silver Wolf, sorry to hear of your problems, so best wishes on those health issues, my friend. I’ve got a few of my own to deal with in truth, but probably in a very different way to yours, mate. Take care, bud ;-)

180 YOSB – Cheers.
I agree with your sentiments, any fighting needs to be of the figurative kind and preferably done via this sort of medium. I see no difference in views on wanting Wolves to be where they belong, just simply different ways of dealing with the problem of achieving some sort of continuity along with a reasonable quality of football. I’m still unsure of numerous things surrounding MM, including selection policy, tactics, style etc and that’s before we get to the poor efforts last summer to get much needed players, and the owners wish to re-build what wasn’t a bad stadium before ensuring we had a playing unit fit to stay in the Prem etc etc. So, there are no totally right ways or wrong ways, just people who are worried, and rightly so, and as ever happens in those circumstances the air gets strained and differences magnified.
Anyway, I’ve just been told my local telephone exchange has been upgraded to improve my snail-paced Broadband speed …. but, I’m told, in the short term things might go slower and even stop …..!! Hahaha, in other words jam tomorrow but gruel today – I’ve decided the bloke who put the email together must be a Wolves supporter! ;))

The ambition of this club and owner astounds me! Morgan announces like king kanoute that he will sanction ‘a’ signing!
Here they are showing the ambition by trying to persuade a 34yr old Bolton has been to Mol!
It is laughable now and becoming quite clear that they are planning life in the fizzy.
You reap what you sow!

What a laugh, I come back from my Caribbean retreat and the fighting is in full flow; I take it Muppet is still in charge then! A rumour Sunday night swept the island that he had been sacked, blimey I thought, there is a God!

181 – Silver wolf, I can’t comment on your broadband -other than to wish you a ‘speedy recovery’ so to speak, lol!- but I can say that everything you said regarding Wolves in that first paragraph reflects my own feelings. You worded it perfectly, mate. And it’s oh, so true that we ALL want Wolves returned to where we believe they should be -it’s just that we, as fans, have a differing view as to how it’s achieved. Accordingly, a bit of tolerance is called for, particularly given that there’s no single ‘right’ way of looking at things -only opinion.
For my money, there’s only four, very minor, easily identifiable problems that need addressing.
Morgan, Moxey, McCarthy, Connor. Lol ;-)

I read some of the comments on here and it makes me so angry. I am currently living/working in China and am therefore according to so called ‘supporters’ like Streako an ‘armchair supporter’. Yes I am but not everyone can always go to matches for any number of reasons. As a boy I followed Wolves when living in Wolverhampton and didn’t abandon the team when they were in the lower tables and struggling. Later when living in London I saw them as often as possible and Molineux would be my first stop even before visiting my parents. Now in my 40′s I still follow and love my club and cant wait to see how the redevelopment is getting on. I talk to my fellow Chinese and expat workers here and probably bore them with my enthusiasm for my club and its history but I encourage them to watch and follow them. So Streako, just because you follow them home and away you seem to think that’s what makes a true supporter. I dont think so. As for your offensive attitude, I would rather people like you would not actually follow my club. I am disappointed with the current situation just like most people are on here. However, lets put this into perspective. Its just a game and there are 20 teams in the Premiership trying to stay up. Yes I would love Wolves to stay up but I also want Wolves to be a well run club. If that means that they are a well run club in the Championship then so be it because I want Wolves to survive in the long term. The biggest problem is money and the disproportionate amounts paid to players and for that reason I also agree with the clubs policy of a wage cap. In fact I would go further and lower the wage cap if that were possible. Is any player worth the kind of money that they are currently paid ? In my opinion the answer is no. I just cant understand how anyone who earns in one year what a player earns in a week or month can be crying out for Morgan to bring in players on even higher salaries. I would even have second thoughts about paying them what they earn in a week as a monthly salary and that should apply to all clubs everywhere. Football is a business and just like any business needs to balance the books and dare I say make a profit. For that reason I have no problems with Morgan developing the ground and creating other streams of revenue and making Wolves an example of how a club can be run. If people moan about the cost of tickets or the price of a bottle of Magners then maybe you should also moan about the fees/wages paid to the players. As for MM, sometimes I have my doubts but we all think we are experts when things don’t seem to go our way. Once again I believe in a long term stratergy and for steady and calm progression. 3 years in the Premiership is not a long time and maybe we should expect it not to be easy or that we go down regroup, learn and come up stronger. Its a game and we cant all win. Do you think the top 4 or 5 will always be the top 4 or 5 ? Isn’t that what makes it all so exciting ! My only negative (apart from the results) is that Molineux is now looking a real mess. It has never been the most attractive looking ground but maybe thought should have been given on how to develop it in a more realistic/modest scale in bringing the crowd closer but with a means of increasing crowd capacity easily later on through clever engineering. Having said that, I think in the long term Molineux will be a fantastic place to watch football and I think we have Sir Jack and Morgan to thank. I will always follow Wolves and my children, even thought they are in London surrounded by their friends supporting Arsenal, West Ham, Tottenham etc wear their Wolves tops with pride as I do here.

Normally when a post is that long it is a very negative one and I stop reading half way down. But it was very refreshing and welcomed to have an absolutly spot on post! I couldnt agree more with you! well said.
I don’t have a problem with the building work either and as you say it generates revenue and profit for the club and owner.
But the ground I think looks great and especially when the top tier is complete and packed out =) it will look even better and maybe preasure the board into completing the steve bull stand.
