Transfer rumours – January 21
Saturday 21st January 2012, 8:49AM GMT.
Expressandstar.com brings you the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa, Birmingham and Walsall.
We have scoured the back pages and the internet to bring you the latest gossip.
We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.
WEST BROM
Roy Hodgson today insisted he had no plans to sell Peter Odemwingie and also cast major doubt over West Brom’s future pursuit of Birmingham City’s Liam Ridgewell.
WOLVES
Mick McCarthy is exploring the possibility of bringing Michael Mancienne – who spent two seasons on loan at Molineux – back to Wolves on loan from Hamburg.
Mick says he would be unsurprised to see Steven Fletcher attracting the Premier League big boys. He said: “Chelsea, Manchester United? Let me tell you, Fletcher wouldn’t just be in the squad, he’d be playing. And if one of those clubs rings up, I’d still tell them to Foxtrot Oscar, of course I would.”
Alex McLeish has urged Steven Fletcher to end his spat with the national team.
ASTON VILLA
Leeds have signed Fabian Delph on loan.
BIRMINGHAM
Martin O’Neill is hoping Craig Gardner’s hankering for a move back to the Midlands – with Birmingham City his dream destination – will fade.
WALSALL
Youngster Mitchell Botfield has been allowed to link-up with local non-League outfit Rushall Olympic on a work experience loan deal.
