Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Wolves’ style clinched Emmanuel Frimpong deal
Saturday 7th January 2012, 11:00AM GMT.
Wolves turned on the ‘style’ to beat off up to half the Premier League to sign Emmanuel Frimpong, it has emerged.
Chief executive Jez Moxey revealed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was so impressed with Wolves that he believes Molineux is the ideal place for the 19-year-old to develop on loan.
Big things are expected of Frimpong in the future, and Wenger believes Wolves will help realise the midfielder’s potential after reported interest from Villa, Bolton, QPR and Fulham.
Indeed, there was anger at Bolton, who took Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere in a similar deal two years ago, as boss Owen Coyle thought he had won the race for the highly-rated 19-year-old, who made his Wolves debut in Monday’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.
“Mick has done very well in signing this player and that should be highlighted – he’s been brilliant,” said Moxey.
“We knew other clubs were interested, because Arsenal told me.
“Mick spoke to Arsenal many times and one of the points I picked up was Arsene was happy for him to come to us because of our style of football.
“During the negotiations I was told one of the reasons why he was happy for him to come was that we play in the right manner and we’ve got the right people who do things in the right way.
“Hopefully he’ll prove it was the right choice by playing regularly and helping us win.”
McCarthy said: “I hope it was down to the way we try to do things here.
“When I asked Arsene, he was open to him coming here. What’s nice is that Arsene sees us as a club he wants to send his players to.
“And if ‘Manny’ gets in our team and does things the way I want them to be done, he can go and be a fabulous player at Arsenal, because playing at the bottom of the league is a damn sight harder than playing for Arsenal when you’ve got the ball 65 per cent of the time. So he’ll learn different things from being here with us.”
Frimpong has been touted as an enforcer type, but McCarthy sees the on-loan Arsenal man as more of an attacking midfielder.
“He can get in there, pass it and get forward – he’s got a bit of everything,” said the boss. “Half the Premier League thinks he’s a good player.”

So greaseball thinks thickos been brilliant does he wait till next year when the gates are down he wont think it then.

Why then is Frimpong not starting at Birmingham today?
McCarthy sees him playing alongside Henry, with Jonsson as Henry’s ‘shadow’. Why then is he not playing Frimpong with Jonsson today???

what a load of twaddle lol

TRANSLATION;
Wenger phoned us up and offered us Frimpong as he’s already got Alex Song and Coquelin who will do his job for the next 10 years so if he doesn’t develop Arsenal can demand a £5m fee from Wolves knowing they actually have the ability to pay for him in line with the new FIFA fair play rules without having to sell someone first, unlike Bolton, Fulham, QPR and Villa.

I would love to have had a quote from Wenger saying he likes the way we play! I could then add him to the list of people who i have lost all respect for!
so now on my list we have:
McCarthy
Terry Conner
Jez Moxey
Suarez
& pencilled in:
Morgan
Wenger
If a great Manager who has his teams playing sublime football at times likes the way we play then i hold my hands up & admit, i know nothing about the game, maybe McCarthy is then a master tactician & our football is fantastic!
If it is i cannot wait for us to have some shockers!
I seriously need to go get my eyesight checked! that or im losing thd plot!

8 David. Sorry mate think you’re wrong there, he’s signed until the end of ther season and he was on the bench.
Dismal game at St Andrews. Two positives we can take. Johansson had a steady debut and Kiteley had quite a good second half.
Watched it on ESPN, and as a critic of armchair supporters I have to say I don’t feel guilty.
Well done our away fans for a good and noisy turn out and our groundsman (after last season) needs to have a word with his counterpart at Birmingham. The pitch looked dreadful.

To be honest I think our style of football and formation is very different to that of the arsenal and that maybe why hes come to us. He will learn a lot here.
Many of our players will learn from the 19yr old about how to pass a ball and keep possession.

Wolves style?? Go play for ‘put a shift in Mick’ and experiance Kamikaze defending, sterile unimaginative midfield play and a flat ‘run into the ground’ forward line??
Has Wenger got the right team!
Jeez.

Well at least that is closer to his proper position unless Mick decides we need a new right back…………….

Amazed at the negativity from a bunch of people that cannot really comment, as they couldn’t find their way to Molineux in a taxi. If you took them there blidfolded, and took the blidfold off in the ground, they would say, “What is this place?”

frimpong kept passing to the Chelsea players every time we tried to develop something he also plays defensively like Henry & is not attack minded like MM says so we really cant have two similar types in the centre of midfield we need a sound creative attacking midfielder to help us win matches & score goals.

Frimpong Pong, let me here you say Frimpong Frimpong!!!!

Went today the game was awfull very boring very few chances made. Should have scored at the end but the draw was the right result as both teams were equally rubbish. I think Moxey should give all the fans that went today a free ticket to the reply to apologise for the poor effort and performance today. I paid good money to go and see what i thought would be an exciting FA cup derby and what i got was more boring than watching paint dry!!!

Wenger likes our ‘style of play’ ! Priceless! Lmfao. Who writes this stuff. Is it Mad Mick and Moxey?

Well said Golden Blood..
What do you guys really expect, were a mid size club working on a budget, would you like them to go out spend millions on a manager some geezer from italy we never heard of, then brake the bank 6or7 big name players on 60 70k plus a week and end up like leeds or portsmouth, you’d have somethin to moan about then.
i’ve been watchin wolves for 40 odd years had some great times and a few not so!
Try getting behind the team a bit more…

I have laughed and laughed at this article!!
This is pure and utter self indulging by Moxey and Micko!!!1
Crazy stuff………OH MAN WHEN WILL WE GET REAL…..I could not help but BUT NOTICE another couple of happy clappers are on site…..Do you really think pointing out that we have no “STYLE” “WE CANNOT DEFEND” “VERY RARELY DO WE PASS THE BALL FORWARD” “WE LOSE NEARLY EVERY WEEK” “OUR MANAGER AS NO CLUE” “HE LOVES PLAYING PLAYERS OUT OF POSITION” “HE LOVES PLAYING PLAYERS COMPLETELY OUT OF FORM”"HE CONSTANTLY MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR THE TEAM AND CLUB”!
The above are facts the statistics back this up 100%!!!So until then stay off site with your pathetic “GET BEHIND THE CLUB AND STOP BEING NEGATIVE CHANTS”!!As getting behind the club is easy its leading the club that all fans should be doing, leading it out of the pathetic situation MICKO MOXEY and MORGAN are creating….!!!!!!OPEN YOUR EYES ON MATCH DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Wanderer in Eire” says “WE LOSE NEARLY EVERY WEEK”
________________
We’ve lost 1 in the last 5 games, and that was against mega-bucks Chelsea. (Believe it or not, the Premier League is NOT a level playing-field (metaphorically speaking), and there is much disparity between the clubs at the top and bottom of the division.) If you’re going to make an argument, at least try and be honest, if not articulate!

Hahahahaah some, sorry I mean 85% of the people on here are stupid and simple minded. We play completely different to teams like Arsenal, we can play hoofball but also chip and change with some slick counter attacking with crosses too. Also like Mick he will be at a team who don’t have as much possession as opposition so it will be a great opportunity to get him attacking and winning the ball back. Come on lads let’s get behind the team and have a good second half to the season! Up to wolves!
What a load of tosh! Our style of play is pass it in our half then lump it forward. Occasionally use the wing. Don’t think we need a midfield. Just 7 defenders two wide men an a forward.
are you all idiots
look at the stats we are playing better football and keeping possesion more its just the few mistakes at the back and the final ball that needs improving
mick wanted long but board wouldnt back him also matt mills but board wouldnt pay his wages.
we need to ask the board-
why are we building a ground we will only fill 5 games a season?
why not fill in the corners temp till we are established prem team
why are we building a ground when the one we have are good enough and not that old?
mccarthy is doing a great job with little money and this is the best league in the world you cant expect us to finish top half without major £50+million invested in the team
support the team and the manager and if we can stay up we will spend in the summer and the only way is up
up the wolves

Premier league experience. Frimpong has this and is a great acquisition for our immediate needs.
