Steven Fletcher insists fatigue won’t be a problem for Wolves

Steven Fletcher today insisted tiredness won’t be a problem for Wolves as they gear up for two games in three days.
Mick McCarthy’s men are preparing for tomorrow’s trip to Bolton before hosting Chelsea 48 hours later – just four days after Tuesday’s exhausting 1-1 draw at Arsenal.
But £7million club-record signing Fletcher, who took his tally to seven goals this season at the Emirates, reckons fatigue won’t affect the players.
He said: “We like playing games better than training, so I don’t think tiredness will be a problem. We’re all looking forward to these two games coming up.
“We know we need to show that same spirit and togetherness every game, and I think we have, even in some of the defeats.
“We’ve shown we’re still together and battling away and shown we can come back from going behind as well.”
Fletcher was signed by Bolton boss Owen Coyle for Burnley in 2009, so knows all about the intensity of tomorrow’s clash.
He said: “It becomes bigger because of where we both are in the league. When I was at Burnley it was always big games with either Bolton or Blackburn.
“The rivalry became bigger when Owen moved as well. He thought I was good enough to play in the Premier League and I’m still here now.
“He’s quite similar to the gaffer here in the togetherness he gets and the buzz he brings to the place.
“Even with their league position, I think he’ll still have them working together.”
Fletcher’s goal at the Emirates means he is the first Scot to score 25 Premier League goals since Paul Dickov.
He said: “Someone had mentioned that to me a couple of weeks ago and then I went two games without scoring. So it was nice to get that.”
