Andy Keogh’s hopes of leaving Wolves for Leeds permanently are fading
Friday 30th December 2011, 9:59AM GMT.
Wolves striker Andy Keogh’s chances of leaving Molineux for Leeds permanently in the January transfer window look to be receding.
The club are keen to sell the 25-year-old and Keogh’s loan at Elland Road is up on Monday, but it’s understood no talks have taken place with regards to agreeing a fee.
It was thought that Keogh’s contract expired this summer, but it has emerged that his deal expires in 2013 and Wolves are keen to at least recoup the initial £600,000 they paid Scunthorpe in January 2007.
Leeds manager Simon Grayson said: “Wolves are looking to do permanent business and they wouldn’t be loaning him back out again until the end of the window.
“I have got funds to strengthen and I’ve got to analyse where the most crucial areas are, but that’s not to say we won’t do anything with Andy.
“Nothing’s been confirmed. But we’ve got certain areas of the pitch that we need to strengthen and I’ve got x-amount of money to spend.”
