Sylvan Ebanks-Blake today insisted Wolves have the know-how to get out of trouble if they are in a survival scrap again.

The powerful striker used a rare interview to express his belief that Mick McCarthy’s side can battle their way out of the relegation zone for a third successive season.

Ebanks-Blake celebrated only his second Premier League start of the season with his first league goal of 2011-12 in last Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Norwich and was hoping to retain his place for today’s delayed clash at Arsenal, when he was seeking his 50th Wolves goal.

“We’ve been in this position for a fair while now so we know the situation and what we have to do to get out of it,” said Ebanks-Blake.

“That’s not to say we want to be there – far from it – but at least we’ve got the experience of being in this position and getting out of it. Hopefully that will tell over this period and we can pick some points up.

“It only needs a couple of good results and you can shoot up the table. It’s ridiculous how tight it is.”

Ebanks-Blake has had to be patient to wait for his chance but he reckons the whole squad are ready to play as the campaign approaches the halfway stage.

“It’s very much a team game now,” said the striker.

“I’ve been patient and kept on working and was delighted to get the opportunity. We’ve got a lot of games coming up and we’re going to need the full squad.

“Everyone’s ready and looking to take their opportunity, which can only be good for the club.

And the former Manchester United reserve has targeted a regular place after replacing Kevin Doyle following his absence with a hamstring injury for the second campaign in three.

“I was unfortunate to get injured against Northampton,” he said.

“But I’m fully fit now and was pleased to get a start.

“When you start you can feel your way into it and build and that’s what I felt I did against Norwich.”

What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
