Wolves midfielder Jamie O’Hara could miss the festive schedule after suffering a hernia.
The £3.5m summer signing from Tottenham has succumbed to an ongoing hernia problem following training yesterday.
O’Hara missed Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Stoke with what was described as a calf injury, but has also been suffering the hernia complaint.
The 25-year-old will sit out tonight’s clash against Norwich and almost certainly the trip to the Emirates Stadium next Monday.
Manager Mick McCarthy said: “O’Hara trained yesterday but he just didn’t feel right. He’s felt it before, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
“He’s not playing tonight, and I don’t think he’ll be fit for Arsenal either.”
Fellow midfielder David Edwards will again be missing tonight, but is expected to be fit for either the game at the Emirates or the New Year’s Eve clash at Bolton.
McCarthy said: “Edwards will be fit for one of those away games.
Kevin Foley and Jody Craddock are set to make their comebacks in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Compton tomorrow.
McCarthy said: “Craddock needs a game. We’re going to have a practice match tomorrow and Jody and Kevin will play.”

I honestly think O’Hara is no better than Milijas.
Both can play a Hollywood pass.
Both can score a screamer.
Both can give it away in silly areas.
Both aint fit

#1 No difference –
O’Hara is a lot better than Milijas! His passion and energy on the field alone makes him number one choice!

Hello people!!! First things First…Merry Christmas and a Very Prosperous 2012 to all my fellow Wolves Fans!!
Well its been a wee while but work commitments have stopped my usual posts. We will sign two players, a defender, and a striker,Foley will come back, and all of a sudden we will hit form. What will do our team the world of good is to drop into the bottom three!! That will wake them all up and they will start playing better as they did last year. We are too good a squad to go down and in Mick we MUST TRUST! Who the hell would replace him if he were to go? Why do you think Blackburn and Bolton haven’t got rid of their manager’s?? There aren’t any managers out there to take a team at half point in the season and see them to safety. Lets get behind and back what we have people!!

loose tonight Mcarthy and the protests are gonna start, if youre in a job, come Wednesday, i love the wolves but i can honestly say that the style of football has not changed in forty years, the big boot up front or down the wings it is soooooo boring to watch,

Sorry ‘No difference’ (post 1), I can’t agree. O’Hara has got proven Premiership quality, and when he plays, he makes us tick. He was what we were missing on Saturday IMO. If you look at the majority of goals that Wolves have scored this season, the three almost always involved are O’Hara, Fletch and Jarvis.
Milijas is Mr Annonymous in most games he plays, he has got some quality no doubt but doesn’t influence games like O’Hara and isn’t fit enough.
2) Should not even be compared. O’Hara was instrumental in keeping us up but has been poor since. Milijas is easily the best passer we have got and player at keeping the ball. O’Hara is more industrious.
Irrespective, tonight is a must win and whoever is on the pitch needs to be on top form, as Norwich are doing well. Let’s have a decent referee!
I agree with number 5. We missed O’Hara on Saturday as he is the one player in the team who will try something different to break down opposition defences. Yes, he gives the ball away sometimes but he never hides and constantly wants the ball.He is, also, a goal threat.
Let’s hope he gets fit ASAP.
Huge game tonight. Let’s get behind the lads!

Another irritation, the premise that there is no one else to take over if MM rightfully get’s the boot; So paying him £1m+ a year and he not having a clue is acceptable; I reckon if you brought in 80% of managers from league 1 down, half would do no worse than Muppet and half considerably better and if the board hasn’t looked at managers with potential, that is a great dereliction of duty;
One Muppet-sychophant on here after Stoke said Mick is ‘as passionate as any fan’; Wrong, MM in interviews has made it plain he has no special affection for WWFC or the fans, why should he , it’s just a job; if anything, he’s arrogant enough to think the club and fans owe him everything, as if they had no success before he arrived and graced the town with his presence and The Belfry with his golfing ‘Skills’ ! No Mick is passionate about not losing his £1m/year+ salary and benefits, ditto the kudos that comes from being a Premier League Manager, being a Manager in any guise, all the media attention making him feel important and the big fear that his next job with be ‘coaching’ Barnsley’s reserves!

Its a big blow losing a player of Jamie’s quality,he along with a few more, seemed to be picking up a little of late,we’ve got Milijas who’s also got good skill, but to me he doesn’t seem to have the same workrate as Jamie. Still we have to deal with these problems, thats why we have a 25 man squad. Tonight is another of Mick’s 1 of 12 must win games,as i cant see us picking up many points from the Arsenal,Chelsea,Tottenham games, so tonights game and the Bolton games are both must win games,as its already proving its going to be a very long and hard season for us. GOOD LUCK TONIGHT LADS: UTW:

Forgot to say my prediction….
3 – 1 Wolves! Fletch 2 and hmmmmm Jarvis or Ward for the 3rd =)
Please Please Please win tonight!!! We need the 3 points to start breaking away from the 18th-19th spot and to shut the numpties up =P
Com’on Wolves!!!

The problem with the Wolves is not only the lack of quality in the squad, with only Jarvis, O’Hara (when fit)and Fletcher who would make it at any other Premiership club.
As a result the team McCarthy puts out each game the quality is not there and whether or not he shuffles the pack he is just replacing one mediocre player with another mediocre player. The quality is just not there!
The system cannot be changed because we just do not have ‘influential’ player(s) to perform this change of tactics.
We also have a manager who cannot ‘think outside the box’so the opposition know what is coming when they play us and we find it difficult to do any better.
In my opinion there are three alternatives which may bring us better results.
1) A change of manager before the transfer window opens which will allow him to rebuild a team for the second half of the season.
The positives are boundless providing the money is available with a quality manager in place. There are no negatives.
2) Keep the manager and let him TRY to bring in the quality players.
The positives are obvious as this influx of Premiership quality players (say 5 or 6) from far and wide can only improve the team.
The negatives are if he cannot attract these players in,which is conceivable with us being in the bottom 3 or 4, then I am afraid we will struggle on and hope to finish 17th.
3) To bring back players out on loan Malone Batth and Winall and introduce Ismail, Forde and Kopstrna into the squad and see what they can bring to the party.
Positives are unknown as one or two of these young lads could be the inspiration that the team needs. Remember Keane? We could have a couple amonst those lads
The negatives are the same as in the second alternative so why not take that chance if the first alternative is not taken up.
I wonder which one will happen?
Bad news because we really needed O’Hara’s drive and energy tonight. Still, one man doesn’t make a team, so let’s get 3pts without him. With 3 of the next 4 games away, the Norwich game is definitely a ‘must win’. Flop tonight and we really are in free-fall.
When you realise we’ve still yet to play most of the ‘big’ clubs at Molineux, you can’t help feeling that Last Chance Saloon is fast approaching -even this early in the season. We’ve already spectacularly failed against QPR and Swansea, so we just cannot afford another disaster against the third and final, promoted club. It has to be a victory, nothing less.
Time to lift the roof off with 100% backing of the boys for 90 minutes, lads….or face the consequences come May.

My main concern for the festive fixtures, to be honest, is not Jamie O’Hernia and his hara operation, it’s the effect that the potential postponement of the Arsenal fixture could have on my life. To explain…
If the tube strike happens then the Arsenal fixture will probably be postponed.
If the Arsenal game is postponed then it won’t be showing in the Newhampton.
If there’s no Wolves game to watch in the Newhampton on Boxing Day then I won’t get to go and watch it and have a hot pork bap with stuffing.
If I don’t get to go to the Newhampton and have a hot pork bap with the game then I’ll be in a bad mood.
If I am in a bad mood then the rigours of Seasonal Affective Disorder will probably make it extend at least a couple of days.
If i am still pissed off on the 28th then I’ll be in a bad mood when I head to Billericay to stay with my girlfriend and her folks.
If I piss off my girlfriend, or worse yet her mum, then she might dump me.
If my girlfriend dumps me between December 28th and 30th then I might spend New Year’s Eve on my own.
So it’s up to you, tube drivers. If you go on strike on Boxing Day, then all of the above might – in fact, definitely will – happen and I will spend New Year’s Eve sad, alone, broken-hearted and having to make my own hot pork bap, in a cold and joyless London flat. Is that what you want? IS IT?

8) Walter Wall – If 80% of the managers from league 1 down could do no worse than McCarthy – why aren’t all of these managers plying their trade at a higher level? Are you honestly saying that eg. Dean Smith at Walsall could do a job better than McCarthy? Whilst I agree that there are plenty of managers at lower levels that get overlooked – let’s be realistic and say that 80% is an inflated number.

BSD. We are WOLVES.
1. Wolves are not a 1 man based team.
2. No excuses for tonight.
3. 3 points or relegation looms.
4. Board will be looking for a new manager soon.
So I have a feeling that the Wolves Board are planning to sack MM this Christmas.
3. With O’Neil and Allardyce two great managers lost as they’ve gone to Sunderland and West Ham respectively. However, the short list of others are:
Bernd Schuster
Mark Hughes
Jürgen Klinsmann
Marco van Basten
Alan Curbishley
Kevin Keegan
Michael Laudrup
Steve Coppell
Could be some more but would have preferred O’Neil to come to Wolves – The Moxey Crew do things that are too little and too late as the good one are being snapped up.

You’re all right about missing O’Hara
I just wish we could get the real O’Hara back to replace the imposter that’s been using his name this season

I see my piece about Jamie ‘Champagne’ O’Hara just happening to be ‘injured’ during the big party season has failed to get past the Stasi! Unrelated to this article but some thoughts on the new redevelopments……….
What happens when a property developer takes over a football club………….He developes the property. Its what he knows. The new stadium and training ground costing many millions of pounds is the product of someone who knows his business and is willing to therefore invest in it.
However……….. We are then quoted as having around £4 mil to spend in January. Even Mick says “we will do something if its affordable”. I hope and pray that whilst spending a frightening amount of cash on developing our properties in all areas of the club we will not be made to suffer by the lack of investment in one area that counts more than any, the playing staff.
Based on current results we could end up with amazing facilities, not filling the stadium and playing Championship football next year.
I understand the need to have state of the art facilities, the need to entice better quality of players etc…….. but this wont mean anything if we go down this season. As for bouncing straight back, no way guaranteed.
3 points tonight is vital for Wolves not only in survival hopes but being able to attract players in January when we are not in the bottom 3 would be a massive plus. Overall though I feel some of this pressure could have been avoided if Morgan had invested money that is obviously there, in the right areas.
We need to try and get wins against Norwich and Bolton – tough but achievable if on top of our game. We then need to act swiftly in the January transfer window. It’s interesting who we are linked with though and some are fantasy land I would say:-
Onouha? Us or Albion but both won’t pay the £4m fee.
Kenwyne Jones? Highly unlikely. We could only get him on loan and even then not afford his wages.
Pranjic (Bayern Munich) No chance. The other Premiership teams are first in the queue.
Diame? Unlikely that Wigan would let him come to us.
Danny Collins? We will get him, as he will be cheap enough!
I am afraid this is what happens when you invest in players with injury problems.
He will be missed as he does drive the play forward and is always looking for attacking ideas.
The delusion is getting bigger at the club after McCarthy said he felt we played well, now Henry says, “I don’t think anyone can say we played poorly”, I think the majority of the 24000 would disagree with him.
McCarthy has come out today and said that Doyle has his full support and will come out firing in the game tonight, Mmmmm hope is right, two goals in 8 games dosen’t say much for him or McCarthy.
I said a few weeks ago we need to change something quickly, Zubar should be tried at CB dropping Berra to give some pace and height to the CB,s, Until Foley is ready Stearman back at RB. I know not ideal, Hammill on the RW, and SEB to start the game.
What is the point of persevering with Doyle, and the defence as it is? We keep losing and we don’t score goals, unless SEB is given a few games we will never find out.
Will he try something new of course he wont, so the final change should be McCarthy after today’s game.

Hope we win tonight, but remember, all this referee, stuff is an excuse, all teams have good and bad decisions from referees, they will even out over the season. They are currently being used as an excuse for poor tactics, particularly no plan B !!!
We deserved very little in the 2nd half, as we could not adapt to Pullis and his changes ! That is nothing to do with the Ref !

Talking of McCarthy, in the current bun today it gives the poorest points tallies in the Prem over the years after 16 games, sitting proudly at the bottom the one and only Mick McCarthy in his second re incarnation in the Prem with Sunderland, 5 points from 16 games,it took 12 more games and a mere 2 more points before MM had run out off excuses and got the bullet! Oh lordy!
Mind you, in 02-03, his 10 games in charge there resulted in ? Yes nil pwonts, zilch, zero, nowt, bugg*r all…………………

BSD. Personally I have never rate O’Hara highly.
As if he’s no good for Harry he’s no good for Wolves.
We should know by now – Hary is one of the best wheeler and dealer for players. No good for Spurs no good for Wolves.
Or do you think I am going mad?
If MM is to ‘keep faith’ with Doyle tonight then SEB might as well be sold in January. A Premiership club needs four top quality strikers not two plus a reserve and two out on loan (that are nowhere near Prem Level).
It will cost £15M plus to get in two half decent strikers so SEB, Milias, Stearman etc will need to be sold to raise some money.
We need a bit of ‘Harry Rednapp’ wheeling and dealing to shift out the deadwood.
MM needs to be asked by an E&S reporter why we don’t have sufficient fire power up front – thats presuming that they do actually interview MM rather than just copy and paste the Wolves website?

Perhaps after this layoff we may get the O`Hara back that we bought. What I cannot get my head round is,he McCarthy bought a striker from Scotland, sent him back to Scotland and now wants to sell him and has told him he won`t get into the side now,or in the future. Why buy him at all?when the money could have gone on a player who could have got into the side.Brilliant Managership. Why is Vokes not being given a run instead of being loaned out?why not play Zubar alongside Johnson and bring in Doherty at right back? And why is he still manager Mr.Morgan?

Curbishly, Keegan and Coppell are all yesterdays men. Curbishley hasn’t been in a job for years – he can’t even get on the telly anymore as a pundit!
The rest are out of our reach – they’ll want giant salaries and mega-millions to spend.

Would love to be more hopeful, more positive, more confident, but I cannot. How much further forward are we two and a half years after winning promotion? I fear the worst, and the best I can muster is to top the one mini-league that matters, ie Bolton/Blackburn/Wigan/WW. Sadly, I see no reason to assume we will finish higher than all three. Doomed?
# 14 PeteNuts, in all fairness probably none of us had actually grasped the seriousness of the one day strike up to now. Enough I say, give the drivers the triple time and the extra day off they want for working Boxing Day, if that’s what it takes to keep our man happy.
Alternatively you offer the mum the opportunity of an away day cook-off at your gaff – you know, kind of celebrity chef fuelled by the odd glass of Rioja. You know she can’t resist.

In another related article I see that Stephen Hunt is asking for more consistency from Wolves. Well, 10 defeats in 13 games is unfortunately very consistent, so here’s a plea to Steve and the rest of the lads. Please be a bit more inconsistent from now on, starting to-night with a win against Norwich !!
With the fixtures coming up, we sorely need them.

BSD. Oh O’Hara I sing.
I do not rate O’Hara highly.
As Harry-red-nap is one of the best wheeler and dealers within the business.
Nothing passess him which is not quality. If O’Hara was not good enough for Spur then is he good enough for Wolves. Come on and prove it on the pitch.
O’Hara – prove me wrong, ding dong, bong bong – come on the WOLVES.
Wolves player better get their finger out or they will be all plying their trade in the Championship.

I think the O’Hara thing is more down to his son being I’ll! I couldn’t think of anything worse, how can you keep your mind focussed on football when your family are I’ll?
I am no expert but I couldn’t focus on my job under those circumstances!
Re the McCarthy issue….Thanks for everything you’ve done BUT your have reached the top of your mountain, passed your sell by date – His EPL record is very poor, our teams performances are not progressing.
This is now 100% McCarthys team, his signings, and we have a team of also rans!
Every player under McCarthy is treated differently, you have his pig headed stubbornness with Doyle, Ward, Henry
Then you have his pig headed stubbornness with Jarvis, Fletcher, Miljias because he drops them at the first waiver of dip in form!
Now I read Doyle will be played regardless – the most out of form wolves player to be played since Darren Ferguson!
Don’t get me wrong I hope Doyle gets a hatrick tonight, but he won’t!
And why should players be treated so differently? Could it be because of their nationality? No surely not!
Would that be racist?

No(15), you criticize my theory(8) and then name one specific manager who is struggling is mightily flawed; let’s face it whilst the likes of McCarthy, Mcleish, Bruce, Hughes, Reid, Grant, etc etc etc are either bed-blocking jobs in the top flight or always given chance after chance to prove they are failures, no talent from the lower divisions will ever be able to prove their worth at the top level; But of course some have,tonight’s manager was a Div 1 manager 18 months ago and Rodgers is from the lower leagues also,so they can succeed if the same old, same old, were discarded and not protected by a compliant media; It’s a laugh that Keane and Coyle are getting battered in the media and Muppet is regarded as bullet proof; I would say without a doubt, both of those are far better coaches than MM or anyone at Compton;

If Coyle is sacked Wolves should grab him, if we lose today we are in BIGGER TROUBLE, Wigan played very well last game and can easily overtake Wolves in my opinion, Bolton are too good to go down, that leaves Blackburn and two others, being realistic you would have to pick Wolves, MM is not the man for the job, all we get are excuses for losing, plus, to be fair to him, maybe Wolves are not a premier league team. 2-2, We didn’t get the three points but from what I saw on my pc it was a cracking game from a neutral standpoint.
However, the points must come from somewhere if the drop is to be avoided and they must start arriving soon. One point from two home games against newly promoted teams tells it’s own tale.
