Out-on-loan Wolves striker Andy Keogh wants to join Leeds for good
Tuesday 13th December 2011, 11:00AM GMT.
Wolves striker Andy Keogh has admitted he wants to rejoin Leeds on a permanent basis.
The 25-year-old’s loan at Elland Road ends on January 2 and he expects talks to start between his agent and the clubs shortly to establish if he can stay at the Championship club, where he started his career in 2002.
Coincidentally, Wolves are keen on Leeds striker Ross McCormack but the Scot is the Whites’ 11-goal top scorer and could be difficult to prise away.
Keogh’s Wolves contract is up in June and he would love to move back to Leeds, where he has scored twice in 19 games this season and helped Simon Grayson’s side to sixth spot.
The Republic of Ireland international said: “I love the club and, in an ideal world, I would like to stay.
“It’s up to the club and my agent will start speaking to them soon and to Wolves to see what the story is and we’ll just go from there. I’ll listen to what they have got to say.
“Leeds is a great club. It’s the first club I signed for as a youngster and holds a place in my heart and I’m really enjoying my time here and it’s a great dressing room.
“We’ve also got a really good chance of going up.”
Keogh, who is behind Steven Fletcher, Kevin Doyle, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Sam Vokes at Molineux, has not figured for Wolves since August 2010.
