Patience will be a virtue at Chelsea insists Wolves’ Christophe Berra
Tuesday 22nd November 2011, 2:00PM GMT.
Christophe Berra today insisted Wolves must again play the patient approach at Chelsea on Saturday.
Wolves fans are frustrated after their team failed to create a chance or force a save from Tim Howard in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Everton.
But, similarly, the Toffees came unstuck against Mick McCarthy’s men in open play and Berra believes that ability to keep the ball is vital if they are to avoid defeat at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
In last season’s game there, Wolves went down 2-0 but they frustrated Chelsea for long spells by keeping the ball in one of their most mature performances of 2010-11.
Berra said: “If we produce a similar sort of performance as Everton we’ll have a chance. We will have to try to keep the ball and there’s no point just punting it forward because if we do, we’ll end up chasing it for long periods.
“With their quality, we will find it difficult to get it back.”
