Wolves defender Richard Stearman today had surgery on his broken wrist and was ruled out for four weeks.
The 24-year-old suffered the injury falling awkwardly during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Everton.
Stearman received treatment at the nearby hospital in Aintree on Merseyside, where the fracture was reduced and today underwent surgery.
Manager Mick McCarthy said: “It was really disappointing for us to lose ‘Stears’ on Saturday and more importantly, disappointing for him.
“He’s going to have the operation today where he’ll have a plate inserted and we’ll know more after the surgery.
“There have been some conflicting reports but he might be out for around four weeks. We’re hoping that is the case.”
