David Edwards billed as Wolves’ goals weapon by boss Mick McCarthy
Thursday 17th November 2011, 5:02PM GMT.
Wolves midfielder David Edwards was today described as the team’s secret goals weapon – if he stays fully fit.
That’s the view of manager Mick McCarthy, as he relishes the options at his disposal in the countdown to the return to Premier League action at Everton on Saturday.
Edwards has played the last two league games, with the 3-1 win against Wigan the first time he has completed 90 minutes since the victory over Chelsea on January 5.
McCarthy said: “The last few games have proved what Dave Edwards brings to us. He can run all day. He’s another one that gets in the box – he wants to get in there and score goals.
“He’s been at the far stick and had a couple of efforts go close and it’s good to have him back. It will be nice to have him fit for the next 27 games.”
