Aaron McCarey sent off as 10-man Wolves reserves lose at Fulham
Wednesday 2nd November 2011, 9:10AM GMT.
Ten-man Wolves were unlucky to go down in a one-goal defeat to Fulham’s second string after creating a host of chances.
But the visitors were ultimately undone by Tom Donegan’s 41st minute penalty, after goalkeeper Aaron McCarey saw red for the second time in just over a month.
McCarey was sent off for upending Alex Kacaniklic in the 39 minute. Aljaz Cotman, who took over from McCarey between the sticks with James Spray sacrificed, was sent the wrong way by Donegan from the spot.
Wolves’ centre-back Michael Ihiekwe then found the net with a header only for the referee to disallow the effort for a foul, while Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli made impressive saves to deny Ashley Hemmings twice and Ethan Ebanks-Landell.
