Wolves’ Nenad Milijas wants to carry on Manchester City scoring run

Wolves midfielder Nenad Milijas is ready for “two massive games” as he continues his bid to persuade manager Mick McCarthy he can lead the team out of their slump.

The Serbia international is one of the support cast expected to figure in tonight’s Carling Cup fourth round tie against Manchester City at Molineux, before they meet again at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

And Milijas, who has plenty of fans who believe he could provide a solution to some of Wolves’ problems, is warmed by the memory of scoring against City in both games last season.

He said: “These are two massive games for us. I think we can do something in them as well. Everyone expects Manchester  City to win but, if we can win, it would be massive for us.

“Last year nobody was expecting us to get results against the big teams but we managed to beat a few of them. They are almost games where, because of expectations, you can’t lose anything.”
