Manchester City fans flocking to Wolves for Carling Cup tie

Wolves will face a sizeable away contingent after Manchester City supporters snapped up every available ticket for the Carling Cup fourth round tie at Molineux.

Some 2,300 euphoric City fans, still in dreamland after their team’s spectacular victory over Manchester United, will head for Wolves tomorrow night.

They will expect the Premier League leaders to offer further proof that bookmakers are right to start quoting odds of 40-1 for Roberto Mancini’s team to win the treble.

Mancini is sure to make changes from the team that demolished United 6-1 but will still field an international cast list, which former Villa midfielder feel James Milner is only just tapping into its full potential.

He said: “We were back in for cool-down training yesterday and then looking at Wednesday because we want to do well in every competition. The confidence is there and it’s about keeping this momentum.”
