Time to map out a plan for Villa's future
- Says blogger Matthew Turvey
Wolves 2 Swansea 2
Saturday 22nd October 2011, 5:06PM BST.
Wolves pulled off an extraordinary comeback to salvage a point just when they looked doomed against Swansea.
Manager Mick McCarthy was facing the wrath of the crowd after goals from Danny Graham in the 23rd minute and Joe Allen befpre half-time left his side staring a sixth successive defeat in the face.
But they somehow clawed back a point with two goals in three minutes.
Kevin Doyle stabbed home after substitute Sam Vokes’ shot was saved by goalkeeper Michel Vorm on 84 minutes and Jamie O’Hara drove high into the net two minutes later to cap a superb move.
But, perhaps not surprisingly, it was a nervous, uncertain performance from the hosts not helped by an edgy crowd who at one point chanted ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ to McCarthy.
McCarthy made one change to the side that lost 2-0 at West Brom last Sunday.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake came in for his first Premier League start since April 9 at the expense of Nenad Milijas, who dropped to the bench, as McCarthy reverted back to 4-4-2.
On the bench, Matt Doherty replaced Ronald Zubar, who has suffered a recurrence of his groin injury.
Wolves made the brighter start at a tense Molineux and forced a chance after just 40 seconds, when Karl Henry bludgeoned a shot from 30 yards that hit the chest of Vorm before Garry Monk headed clear.
Swansea were next to threaten, as Allen saw a rising effort from similar distance tipped over by Wayne Hennessey.
Seconds later,Graham got ahead of Stephen Ward for an angled volley that drifted wide.
But Wolves hit back and almost forced the breakthrough after 20 minutes.
First Matt Jarvis saw a shot on the turn blocked by Angel Rangel.
Then, when the ball returned to the danger area, it squirted up and away from Ebanks-Blake as he tried to control a cross under pressure, before O’Hara volleyed goalwards but straight at Vorm.
The breakthrough eventually came in the 23rd minute but, instead of Wolves, it went to Swansea.
A routine ball over the top by Mark Gower seemed to get Roger Johnson in all sorts of trouble, with the £4.5m defender missing two attempts to clear before Graham bundled home from six yards.
Wolves tried to hit back and Adam Hammill’s curling free kick from the corner of the area was tipped around the post by Vorm as it headed under the bar.
Replays then showed referee Mike Oliver got it right when Wolves appealed for a penalty for Monk’s challenge on Jarvis, the offence occurring just inches outside the box.
But O’Hara’s flicked-up attempt from the free kick flew straight at Monk.
Wolves were again made to pay for missing chances, as Swansea stunned Molineux by scoring a second goal in the 35th minute.
This time, the whole team seemed wrong-footed by a simple ball down the line by Rangel, as Wolves were looking to play offside.
Graham took the pass in his stride and crossed to Allen, who tapped home from close range with the defence all at sea.
There were some isolated chants of ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ aimed at McCarthy, but most fans were simply stunned into silence.
Wolves had a half chance to pull one back soon after when Vorm dropped the ball under pressure from Johnson, but Christophe Berra blazed well over.
Henry drove tamely wide after wriggling into a shooting position as half-time approached, but McCarthy’s side had had the stuffing knocked out of them and looked a different team from the one that started the match.
Predictably, the half-time whistle was greeted by a chorus of boos and things didn’t look much following the restart.
Henry, who had arguably looked Wolves’ best player, cut out a pass and fired a left-foot drive wide.
Then the former Wolves captain saved a near certain goal with a superb tackle on Gower, who had shaped to lash home Nathan Dyer’s cross.
Wolves wasted another decent chance when Jarvis headed wide from six yards out, after Adam Hammill crossed from the right.
All the fire seemed to have drained out of Wolves and the atmosphere began to turn sour.
First the South Bank chanted for Jody Craddock then aimed their dserison at McCarthy, as his substitutions of Hammill and Jarvis for Nenad Milijas and Adlene Guedioura were greeted by a chorus of ‘you don’t know what you’re doing.’
There was even a chant of ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning.’
Amid such a negative atmosphere, Scott Sinclair and Angel Rangel saw deflected efforts go wide.
But, with Wolves heading for a sixth successive defeat and the game going nowhere, McCarthy’s team fashioned an unlikely comeback.
However, with Manchester City coming up twice in succession, it promises to get anything but easier for Wolves and the manager.

1 goal scored is yet more evidence that backs up my theory of it being completely down to confidence. Anyone who has ever played the game will tell you that no matter what anybody says to you, the only way you can truly get your confidence back is by earning it yourself.
Mick has done very little wrong with his tactics and playrs picked, but no matter who he picks, the results wont change without a bit fo confidence. Doyle looked a different player after he scored his goal, and when we got the equaliser, the whole team looked more confident. We need a win from somewhere to fully restore that confidence, and I fully believe that as soon as we restore that confidence, we will start flying again.
Milijas and Guedioura showed some decent attacking play, and surely at least one of them deserves a start. I would also consider dropping Henners as he is still not comunicating with the defence. at least 2 goals conceded in 6 consecutive matches shows that something is wrong at the back. I think a keeper with a little bit more experience could have easily prevented the first goal.

Hey, the fans are paying customers – theyy have every right to create a &%^$ atmosphere at home, aren’t they?
That bit of sarcasm aside… we really should have won this, and we should have played better (especially Johnson!) but given the circumstances I’m happy with the point.
It was a great comeback though – you have to admit! :P

Before the match, Mick asked for “something special” – I personally think Mr Tumble would be a welcome addition to the squad!

Regardless of the result i think that MM should still go, it takes him 70-80 mins to make a decision. knowing he was a defender as a player shows he should have some knowledge of how to organize ours……obviously not!!!! the first 80mins was soooo poor. Please Morgan get rid of MM now before its too late.

Anyone with any comprehension about the game of football at all knows without any question of doubt what should now happen at The Mol. It won’t happen, this fool will still have his job and my Wolves will still be beyond awful. Today was an embarrassment, end of. This man should have been gone a long time ago but he’s still here and lets face it, he’s going nowhere. Championship team at best with championship quality players. No ambition, no idea, no creativity and nowhere to go but down but ee by gum, they put a shift in. PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!

‘Well we got out of jail’, 1pt out of 18pts is relegation football, these are the teams McCarthy said judge us on? But yet again we’ve come up short, poor defending yet again allowed them to score their first goal, Johnson seemed to be the wrong way round, which made it hard for him to stop the goal, although i did think Wayne could have got out quicker, and maybe the ball may have hit him,and bounced away? The second goal was so simple left our entire defence flat footed for a simple tap-in. But what did make me angry, was when Hammill ( one if not our best player ) was substituted ,and the crowd booed MM, and McCarthy clearly shouted FXXX OFF to a section of the JH crowd. To me he ‘crossed the line’ supporters maybe ‘right/wrong’ but you never abuse the very people who support the club week-in week-out for life. As for O’Hara scoring to be honest he wouldn’t have scored, has i would have taken him off at half-time if not dropped him to start with. Vokes should have been given more time on the pitch, he did well when he came on, i said yesterday’he only ever gives him 10-15mins, give him a decent run say 6 games ,see what he can/cannot do for us? Looking at MM face ,i think it spoke volumes, he looks a broken man, devoid of ideas, as TC always looks and is clueless. Whilst im happy we got a point, make no mistake ,this was until we scored those two goals, a utter shambles, and just papered over the cracks, within our team/club. Id be interested to know what Morgan was thinking, after watching that display. I thought Karl Henry played well again ‘IMO’ but our whole defence are clueless, and we only played Swansea, who’ve just come up from the Championship, yet made us look like the Championship team for long spells of the game. Give JC and MD a game, they cant be any worse than that lot? UTW:

An unlikey point in the end. What a poor performance though.
Mick seems to have lost the players. Certainly has lost a large many of the fans.
The players made so many basic errors.
Selection, tactics, substitutions are all open to debate on here, bit it’s clearly Mick’s way or the highway.
Well done the fans today. That was so hard to watch and try to stay positive.
Even when we play badly you can count on the players to play with fight and passion, but today even that was missing, and for most of this game we looked like a group of players who weren’t interested. With the exceptions of Henry, Ward and Hennessy and maybe Hammill, nobody seemed to care and wolves fans won’t tolerate that attitude, hence the vitriol aimed at Mick and the team today. The substitutions seemed too late and inexplicable but at least we got a point against a poor swansea team.
Something needs to be done to arrest this decline right away or we are down, and much as I

Moaners and groaners, negativity and anger.
Come on, be proud that we had the nouse to draw.
If you knew better you would be manager or player. Swansea were a very very good side in the championship under their former manager.
Yes we may only be a very good championship side but with time you build on both your wins and your loses. No matter who we have in charge we can not expect to win every match.
But we did come back from a poor situation and grabbed/stole/unwarrantedly got a point and that at the end of the day is what matters. Isn’t it?
We are on a good run now…….

A draw is papering over some large cracks at the Wolves. Defensively naive and lot of players not closing the opposition down. We looked better after the subsitutions and left it late. Time for Jody Craddock?

Even the most ardent fans amongst us would not have given a plugged nickel that we would get anything out of this match. How can it be that a recently promoted team with a bunch of no name players could show us up in this fashion on our home pitch? In every department Swansea were superior technically, tactically and in terms of speed. The Swansea players must be scratching their heads as to how they threw away two points.
Our team defense, or lack of it, for their second goal was beyond awful and embarrassing. MM may have dodged a bullet today but Manchester City are looming in our near future and with displays like this none us can feel good. We seem devoid of ideas, tactics or passion. Johnson had another poor game today and his body language seems to suggest he would rather be anywhere else but at the Wolves.
It was interesting to see that whereas the Swansea Manager was interviewed by ESPN2 ( USA version) Moxey took the interview for Wolves before the match suggesting that the team was going to be OK and that management fully supported MM.
Hold on fans it is going to be a rough ride!!!

Ive said it before so many times it grates – If we keep MM, TC and the current team of ‘coaching staff’ we will always be struggling in the Premiership – If we want to go beyond this we will need a better Premiership Manager – Albion have got Woy and imv he has far more football nouse than MM and Co – Local Derbies aside – the league positions dont lie If the club have any ambitions of staying in this league without struggling EVERY season – Look for a Manager and Coaching Staff that can get the team acting like a unit in defence midfield and attack
We’ve just given a newly promoted side its first point away from home – Thank the Lord it wasnt 3

Absolute shambles an embarassment to watch. Johnson was pathetic along with stearman and jarvis and i have to say that ohara may have saved a point but his passing was atrocious and he left his man for the second goal. Doyle only got involved in the last 10 mins too. There is no passing, no constructive football team is totaaly devoid of ideas and that must stem from the manager. The onlty surpriae was that swansea didnt win. Do fans really want to pay to aee that rubbish week in week out, i think not. Moxey says no reelgation is a non starter and i agree, without relegation the league is meaningless but unfortunately it means there are only two places up for grabs as we are certain to go down.
If anyone takes solace from the fact Swansea tired and lost concentration, as newly promoted sides tend to do,you are more deluded than McCarthy; This is an appalling result for those of us who see MM’s exit as the only hope of the club progressing, in any case Swansea lost 2 points, not WWFC gaining one; If he thinks this will be a springboard, he is mightily mistaken, Wigan coming up, don’t they do the double over WWFC most years; where next for a point, Sunderland? If by December he has not gone,it will be too late, no manager of quality will take over with this squad in those conditions, they will be anchored to the bottom with a points return of 1 in 6, even below McCarthy’s historic return and then MM’S sycophants will demand he stays as the best option in the Championship;
POOR very POOR

This result im afraid, has merely papered over the cracks.,
Mick has done a tremendous job at Wolves, and should be remembered for it.
But the club is ready for the next chapter. And im afraid Mick may now be holding it back.
The correct way should be an honourable resignation by Mick this weekend. Not a sacking.
Even if we had no manager at all, i dont think we could play any worse.
He has lost the crowd, and by the expressions on the faces of the players, coupled with their body languge, i feel also he may have lost the dressing room.

Was very annoyed with what appeared to be McCarthy giving expletives to the Billy Wright Stand in response to their boos for Adam Hammill being substituted (on 67 mins 15 secs on Sky Sports coverage). I have never known a Wolves side with so many players out of form.
It was poor, desperate and worrying, however we still scraped a draw.
McCarthy’s sarcastic drawling interview, aimed at the fans displays a man of arrogance and of limited intelligence.
Quarter of the season gone…………8 points not good enough.
We havent played Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and I dont think we can get the 9 points we got off these teams last year.
Mick…..the fans dont understand why you took Hamill off…..Jarvis,…yes…hamill poor decision………….rescuing a draw at home against Swansea wasnt’ in the script…Roger Johnson’s display was appaling. Much improved second half performance. Substitutions and change of tactics spot on from Mick. Playing two attacking wide players is a luxury we can’t afford with such an awful defence. The captaincy should be restored to the dependable Karl Henry, our best player again by a mile. Johnson is currently providing an awful example for the other players after such early promise. The defence has to be changed or we will be relegated. We just have to spend to improve in both penalty areas in January.
Yet again, too many substandard players and some of the better players badly out of form. Did Mad Mick really think that the team which just avoided the drop last season only needed one new player (Johnson)? Henry&O’Hara as a central midfield pair is not good enough, interestingly, things appeared better when Milijas and Gued came on, even if this meant us sacrifizing what little pace we have in the team. Having just watched Bolton outclassed at home by Sunderland, Wigan being beaten again, etc., it is clear that we are only one of of a number of teams struggling. It is difficult to see anything better than yet another desperate fight against relegation.

Interesting that you also picked up McCarthys words after Hammill’s substitution.
Perhaps the 10-15,000 fans who booed Hammill’s substition should do exactly what McCarthy said and stay away. That would certainly scupper Morgans expansion plans.

Another relegation performance for 85 minutes and then decent football for 5. Why did it take so long for the ‘team’ to ‘put a shift in’? Doyle was in the right place for the first goal (for once) but spent the first 80 odd minutes on the wing crossing to their defenders. Hammill was our best player and he was taken off. Gudiara should have started and what has Hunt done? Dared to ansnwer McCarthy back probably. The static defence for both their goals with four of our players marking no-one was appalling and for 80 minutes the majority of the team looked like they had been dragged together for the first time. McCarthy’s reaction to the crowd behind him when we scored the second again showed his arrogance and lack of respect for the fans who have, in his mind, no right to an opinion. Most of us would never get 40 grand a year but we are not allowed to criticize players who get 40 grand a WEEK – for what? turning up on a Saturday and playng golf all week by the looks of it.

The Wolves crowd today were very tolerant, considering the circumstances, However, we were extremely lucky as Swansea seemed to run out of the steam towards the end. Our selection, tactics and substitutions have been poor throughout ! Where do we go from here ! Put more faith in MM, or make the big change , I for one have had enough of the guy, Thank you and good bye

Why do people get so excited? Same team more or less for 4 years. Mick and the players have worked miracles! Mick has had no money to really IMPROVE the team/squad (Dave Jones Syndrome). Ok, some like Mick, some don’t but every team needs funding to improve (Tony Pulis and Stoke). Is Pulis really that good? Of course not but he has brought well when given the money. All the less funded teams will forever be fighting for survival, fact. These players give everything but even they know every player has thier level/peak, no shame in that. My worry is can or do the club want to invest smoothly (no knee jerk) like Stoke have or not? Is Mick comfortable that the club stands by this policy OR does not want to be a position where he has to be tested to rebuild a new side over time and judged on the signings he makes? Mick is top coach/bloke, he made the right subs today and he knows his players but he NEEDS a LOT of new ones. Over to KM and JM!

I was too ill to make it to the Stan Cullis today and watched from my comfy sofa.
Observations- Both full backs out of position frequently.Feel sorry for Stearman playing out of position all the time- would like to see Steraman and Johnson tried together and Doherty in as RB.
Hennessey, slow to come for the ball, but made about three excellent stops.Still doesn’t communicate well with the defence.
Johnson/ Berra slow and flat footed. They do not seem to gel at all.
Henry had a good game today, along with Hammill and Milijas and Vokes when they came on, O Hara not so good ( but still not subbed!) Doyle quite quiet, as was Jarvis and SEB.
You could really hear the crowd on sky and the boos and jeers came across strongly- along with ‘you’re gettig sacked in the morning.’ I didn’t see MM tell the crowd in the JH to f off, but I am sure several people who were at the match and told me that is what he said aren’t wrong.
Please go now MM, this was painful to watch and if I ever thought we looked awful at the match, it looks ten times worse on tv!
You wonder at our falling gates, Moxey?Insipid football won’t get people through the turnstiles coupled with the high prices of tickets, food and drink in the ground, booking fees on tickets and costs of phoning the club up at national rate to buy aforemnetioned tickets,
You have taken the patronage of wolves fans for granted for too long and need to do something drastic and soon. How about a student season ticket? How about cheaper tickets for youths?

Has anyone else noticed how often our players are distracted by McCarthy constantly barking orders from the touchline as though he has little faith in their own abilty to read agame. They look as though they are more scared of doing something that displeases him than what the fans say. Compared to other teams managers, McCarthy is by far the worst offender.
I don’t advocate changing the manager, but surely he has to be taken aside and have his weaknesses hammered home to him by the board. Successful companies send their management on refresher courses etc to improve their output. McCarthy certainly needs to go back on a course, even if just to show him other ways of doing things. He has Plan A and only Plan A.
Very rarely does he use the full substitutions allowed even when we are losing, and when he does it is so late in a game to be ineffectual, and often replaces the wrong player.
Today Wardy was on his own on the left, Jarvis of no support at all. All Jarvis is good for is putting in overhit crosses. He is slow to react to play around him and especially when he loses the ball, he just stands there, hands on hips.

Yet again the Club is a that crossroads which it has not been able to get right in many years. Remember 1983, 1990s and more recent the ‘Dave Jones Saga.’ Stoke are doing it, why not us? Mr Morgan needs to decide. I am sure he is decent bloke but surely he can see real investment is required. I feel sorry for Mick because he like Dave Jones hasn’t been given real money to improve the team. The players have and are still working miracles but they are not daft and know there is always better players and every player has a peak level, no shame in that. Just look at the bookies over a season (neutral opinons). Clubs with most investment/money will be at the top/win cups, those with less investment will be bottom/ not win cups. Over to you Mr. Morgan.
Good subs Mick, Great fightback boys. Hope you get the help you need in Jan.

My God, when you’ve got to ‘celebrate’ a comeback against what is, in effect, nothing but a Championship side….well, heaven help us.
Grateful for the point? Oh, yes -absolutely. However, forget those final few minutes that saw Wolves salvage an unlikely draw and instead focus on the first 85 mins. We were hopeless. Not quite as crap as against QPR but not far off. It was embarrassing, humiliating, shocking and completely amateurish. Worse still, it was televised for the world and his dog to see.
Confidence (or lack of) is the serious problem here. Trouble is, if anyone out there thinks that Mick is capable of restoring it in big enough quantities, well, I’ll have some of that stuff you’re drinking or smoking.
You’ve bought yourself some time, Mick, but it’s only putting off the execution -ours, not yours, if you stay. Once you hit rock bottom as we have, I honestly don’t see how it can be reversed when the manager is so utterly predictable in every way.
Anyone who ‘trusts in Mick’ is fully entitled to their viewpoint but, I tell you, I’d seriously question whether they, themselves truly believe in that sentiment or -which is more likely, I’d say- they’re still living in eternal gratitude for our promotion season under him. This is 2011, not 2008, people.
Waiting for Mick’s departure is similar to waiting for major surgery at the dentists. Less pleasurable, though.

to me it proves that mick mc carthy cant motivate the players. cause after they scored our heads ad gone and soon as we score the wolves players seem to have injection or boost but not from mm.we need to be looking elsewhere or its gonna be a heart breakin season for us. to be honest i dont think we should be on johnsons back as much when you consider hes doing berras and stearmans jobs for them (and if they are prem defenders im the next king of england)

I have never been a MM knocker but sadly i feel he has taken us as far as he can.
The team needs a new manager in place with fresh ideas to stop the rot.
We were second best for most of the game and could have been about four down before our fight back. Swansea passed the ball with real purpose, while we looked predictable and lacking any creativity in breaking them down.
Our defending to put it mildly was a joke (again) and Stearman and Johnson were the biggest culprits.
Oh well, only Man City twice next up. Mancini was in the crowd today and must have been laughing his head off travelling back up the M6 at the thought of facing our defence.
Credit the players for the fight back but the future is’nt looking too rosy at the moment.

Let us just pray that we wake up on Monday morning to news that Lee Clark has agreed to come in and save our season from the inevitable drop we now face after another shambles this afternoon.
So devoid of any real coching we even kicked off with a pass back to the keeper resulting in taking posession down to a 50/50 ball.
How can anyone tolorate this any longer.

One of the frequent excuses from MM is that it takes time to establish your team as a Premiership side. Since Wolves have now been outplayed (and humiliated) on their own pitch by two sides who were playing Championship football last season would the Chief Numpty take a different view.Has he noticed Norwich are playing better than both those two, possibly it may get even worse?

Mcarthy was well out of order telling the paying fans to Fxxx off today. He is a man under immense pressure and it shows! His team of misfiring, lacklustre, cluless, inept, unskillful shambles, are a disgrace to the shirt except for a few. Henry, imo, lived up to his name today, The Crab! Side pass, back pass, pass to the opposition, anywhere except through the channels get the front men going! Ohara looked hacked off today as well as Doyle. They seemed frustrated with the others. Doyle did not celebrate his goal! We seem to be flat footed in midfield. Whe Henry or Ohara get the ball, Hnery passes it sideways, Ohara is waving his hands looking around for a gold shirt to pass to. We should be putting teams like Swansea to bed but we made them look good. Our defence was bloody awfull. Berra the shirt puller, Stearman (tim nice but dim)is a waste of space, Johnson has fallen from grace big time! Ward is in a class of his own, he works tirelessly,Jarvis was non exitent today but why take Hamill off? MM deserved the boo’s, Everyone in that ground today, or so it seemed, wants MM gone!
Again the substitutes gave us much needed impetus. SEB didn’t do much an never got a look in. Wonder what Mr Morgan must be thinking now?! Time to order the tumble weed for the new ground! Get some loan signings now to help balance it out as come January 2012 no quality player will want to come.
The fans rebellion is gaining speed now and one point will not stem it Mr Morgan.
Mancini was there today, he must be laughing his head off! The next 4-5 games will seal our fate.
UTW.

Well said 35. We must NOT forget what he has done for this club – he should go down in Molineux folklore as the man who got Wolves settled back in the top flight again. But thats it – the decent thing must be done now or all of that good work will be undone. Also Mr Morgans new ground plans will also go slightly off the rails if we continue as we are.

I’ve just read McCarthy’s comments on the Wolves site, “It seems my substitutions were hopeless, I got that all wrong and was just very fortunate”. How out of touch with reality is he?
How he cannot correctly read the fans response is beyond me. It was obvious that we cheered the fact that the right players were going to come on but jeered the choice of players going off.
He needs to remember you don’t bad mouth the customers. Gerald Ratner did that and look what happened.

#53 – It was the Wolves fans signing ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’. About 12,000 of us!! We’re you at the game?
Mad Mick has to go! He’s had money to spend but has wasted it. How many players have been signed but never featured? Surman, Halford, The Hoff, Van Damme ….. et al. £10m+ wasted on players never given a chance. Then there’s the next bunch – Milijas, Hammill, Hunt, Fletcher … et al, only play occasionally £15m+ here Another £7m on Doyle who doesn’t score enough due to MM’s tactics £4m on Johnson who is looking awful but in fairness anyone would look bad playing alongside Berra who couldn’t be trusted for the run in last season. MM would rather play his championship team. 7 Championship players started today even though over £30m has been spend by MM suposidally strengthening the team and squad, I think not, money wasted!!
MM has to go but I suspect Morgan will stick with him as he only appears o be here for the profit! Profit will be down when MM takes us down though!
Shocking display from teh team and MM on every count today. He holds the supporters in contempt! He must go, we must force the issue!!

What a refreshing way see a team play after the dire stuff we turn out.
I thought to myself, there is our answer, Paul Lambert.

Very POOR.
MM as to go he is losing his marbles completely, calling him a numpty is giving him too much praise.
I like many of the fan’s are extremely thankful for the “SHIFT” he has put in as our manager.
He as given us some great times and lots of enjoyment but the road as ended for him.
Sitting in the stand I saw a young lad “CRYING” when we went two down,it was heartbreaking to see such a young lad “CRY” inconsolably, the players should be made to sit and watch this lad for an hour.
That should bring home what the club means to the fans.
Every “WOLVES” fan is of the opinion that we should be doing better,no one is suggessting winning the league or even being in the top 10!We are not even asking to make the final of a cup!We just want our team too remain in the premiership and do so by playing football.
It really is that simple,we certainly dont have the worst set of players,a few other teams beat us to that.
SWANSEA had not won for 26 games away from home yet they made us look so poor.!
This is not about confidence as how can one explain the start we had and were we are know!?
MM as divided the team,Karl Henry should have remained the captain,Karl is not a very good player, but what he lacks in skill and class he makes up by “EFFORT”!
Johnson I am afraid as none of the above,in truth JOHNSON is one player who should not be in the team.!
Johnson is very poor at best and is a poor standard bearer for the team.
I am not at all surprised has he is one of the players that had rejected joining us earlier.JOHNSON is just a greed fuelled individual.
Doyle was and as been poor all season yet is rewarded with a contract extension!
Doyle is however a “GOOD” player, all I will say to DOYLE is do what you did in the last ten minutes of the game in everygame!Play to score.
Milijias Adlene and Hamill performed well, they showed patches of playing football,Milijias can get the ball to stick to his feet.
The new Manager as too give them a good run in the team.
Stearman is also a good player,I feel sorry for him as “MM” is playing him in a position that makes him look poor.Yet “MM” cant see this surely “MATT” must play in that position he cannot do any worse.
MM is consistent in two things “LOSING” “PICKING PLAYERS OUT OF FORM”!
Team as too be changed to the following:
1)hennesy
2)Foley
3)Henry (CD)
4)Berra
5)Ward
6)Milijias
7)Adlene
8)Hamill (LICENCE TO THRILL)
9)Jarvis ”
10)Doyle (must not play in midfield or wing)!
11)Fletcher
Subs:SEB,VOKES,HUNT,OHARA AND WHO EVER ELSE.
9)Jarvis (LICENCE TO THRILL)

Are you listening morgan & moxey?
Oh dear what can I say? I felt like crying today…sitting on my seat i paid £522 for to watch my beloved team struggle. Johnson seems to not wish to know anymore….i blame that on confidence. O’hara I hope every game that he improves or shows any kind of reflection of the player i grew to love last season. In him i see a player to build around but at the moment i don’t know why he gets in team week in week out when he seems to have no influence except when talking to media with his words of “we are ready for this!”. Jarvis seems like Johnson and O’hara mixed together! Wardy is playing out his skin….player of season by miles in my opinion already…well done to him :)
I didnt agree or condone boos etc as they should not happen during 90 minutes…do it at the end after final whistle been blown as it is like a domino effect on the team….confidence hits the floor. I did not agree with the substitutions except maybe Jarvis but it turned out the 2 players who came on (Milijas & Guerdiola) injected attacking urgency against a Swansea team who was tired n waiting for final whistle.
If a manager was to come in who could we have? Who would want to come? Dream for me would be Martin O’Neill as manager and Ray Wilkins as coach (that guy is top coach n would get this team ticking again)…..if we stick with MM i hope he has sleepless night to sort out his own ticking bomb in his head thats slowly destroying him as a man.
Love da Wolves!!

wolves had 37% possesion against a newly promoted side at home.(the stats don’t lie)

78 You Muppet i am 41 and been going since 82 always a season ticket holder and away as well in the past. Where are you going to replace the likes of my support? i have never called for mcarthy to go i would hope he would resign not because he has lost the last 5 games im not that narrow minded. I look at the big picture and it tells me that anyone who thinks the likes of berra stearman craddock ward elokobi can cut it in the bpl when they conseded 50 odd goals in the championship is obviously deluded. There has been a lack. Of planning by Mick as the team is not evolving as it should be in the third season. Today was a shambolic performance for 84 mins and i thought the crowd were right behind the team. The place has gone flat and this is due to this man. Can somebody please tell me why i should remain optimistic? . i remember Andy gray and the John Ireland being built and today from my seat in the southbank i saw this sprawling white elephant and had a case of history repeating itself. If this club goes down we
won’t come back up and if you think Mick is the best option to get you back up then for me its a case of closing the door after the horse has bolted.

Aren’t memories short these days? Henry was the antichrist of football 2 weeks ago, today he almost dragged out a point for us singlehanded. Never stopped running, showing for the ball, encouraging others. Just wish the same could be said for Jarvis and Doyle, both of whom produced shamefully inadequate performances until Doyle at last scored a tap-in.

We deserved nothing today, very lucky to get a point but so glad we got it! Again we go 2 nil down… when we let a goal in we switch off and get so nervouse the players are scared to put a foot wrong so become very hesitant which is why we booed the team for standing around ball watching and then left the gap open for the second goal!
Rubbish players today: Johnson, Stearman, o’hara, Henry and Doyle. Johnson just struts around like the big man but in reality he’s slow and big headed and hates the fans! Stearman WHY kick the ball out for a corner when a simple kick to the sideline was needed. Henry slows the play down to defensive and hesitant and cannot pass the ball at all… Now Doyle did score but it was a toe poke in the 6 yard box luck! all match he was running into dead ends and get pushed around. O’hara very frustrated player, falls to the floor and smacks the grass several times to vent his anger but unfortunatly his frustration makes him a worse player. Johnson just irritates me now I don’t like him at all.
Funny seeing fans leave early and miss both goals =)
MOXEY! attendance today was 25k…. it was on Sky Sports so by your thinking should it have been low attendance today? infact it was quite good today. Hopefully this breaks our loosing streak now and we can start again, maybe we can get a result from Man C like last year… I hope so but a win against Norwich is a must.
Still want MM to stay but it’s wearing thin now with these bad performances.

how many more games must we endure the lack of creative flare both millijas and adlene provide, start them both.

I really think that Mick has been determined to drive a wedge between the fans and the club.
He likes the ‘us verses the World’ method of motivating his team. But if thats the only motivator he has, he needs to do the honourable thing and admit defeat.
I beleuve he has done a fantastic job, but everything is stale now. The Boggies saw something similar happening with Di-matteo, and acted quickly. The thicko Boggies fans all berated Woy Hodgson’s appointment, but look what he has done. He knows how to coach, and understands tactics. I dont think Mick and Clipboard do?

I think its funny how you can be calling Mick McCarthy a fool, when he has taken us and beyond where we could of ever imagined us to be.
Don’t get me wrong, the performances have not been good enough, some decisions have been questionable.
On the back of 5 straight defeats, and losing two nil and the half. I don’t know how people can say that wasn’t a good result.
We have played the Premier for 3 years and never lost more than five in a row. Hasn’t anybody expected such dips at some point.
Wigan after today have lost 6 in a row, you don’t hear their fans calling the manager a muppet or a fool and asking for his head.
Mick McCarthy is the reason your watching Premier League football, Steve Morgan is the reason why Wolves are stable and having a new ground and on top of all that it is down to Jez Moxey the fact we are still making a profit every year.
I think whoever would want that to stop are muppets themselves. Who are we gonna get anyway? Big Sam? Martin O’Neill?.
Good Managers, yes but ones that are allowed to break the bank every transfer window.
I would rather build and slowly progress than be Charlton, Sheff Wed or even Bradford. Not mentioning Portsmouth, Middlesborough.
Mick McCarthy is not arrogant, he is just showing everyone the same amount of sarcasm the fans have shown him – applauding him for decisions, for applauding Karl Henry.
The people booing these people of those who never really played football, drunkens, or idiots that can’t wait for a Sheik to buy Wolverhampton Wanderers and we can have the Messis and the Ronaldos at the New Etithad Airways stadium.
Some people are a joke.
For all those who will happily state that Johnson and Henry are poor, yet continue to state o’Hara is a great player are dillusional. He hasn’t done anything all seaon apart from score today and put the ball on the spot for Tim Krul against Newcastle.

Why Mr McCarthy and some other misguided fans consider the substitutions were miraculous is seriously questionable.
Milijas, for one, should have been playing from the very start. He is class with an intelligent thinking mind. He has the skill to go with it, but maybe too far ahead of the others around him and never given a long enough run to settle and prove the point. Perhaps it should be, in Mr McCarthy speak, Milijas + 10 others.
It is a very sad fact as far as I’m concerned. Mr McCarthy should stick to Championship and below, where he is likely to achieve. He does not possess the ability to manage at his current level.

I’m as pleased as anyone that we managed to salvage something out of this game. Most folks who know a little about football realise that Swansea aren’t a bad side and pass the ball very well. Far better than Wolves. Playing high tempo and closing down players is hard work and against top side, they’ll pass the ball around you. I do not put Swansea in that bracket and once we started to close them down we forced mistakes. This is where the goals came from not MM tactical genius. I support the team and never boo, but as a paying lifelong fan deserve an opinion without being accused of being a poor supporter.
I think MM is honest and should be credited with what he has done. However, I do think he has taken the team as far as he can, at least with the money made available. Unless the owner and board will release funds for a new manager (and I think they are more interested in building the stadium. Can someone tell me if the owner has connections with the firm doing the work)there is no point changing MM. Just prepare for the Championship.

Che Wolf, its a shame the fans can’t sack the manager (and a few of the players to boot)! If we can’t beat a newly promoted team when playing at home, then we don’t deserve to be in the premiership. As far as I (and a lot of other fans) are concerned those two late goals that salvaged an undeserved draw should not save MM! This club should be to good and to big to go down, but under the current management that is not the case. God knows what the likes of Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea are going to do to us if Swansea can come and score two goals (and with better luck they could have had four or five). As to short memories, I’d like to not have any memories of the premiership because we are still in it, and not in the Championship where we are heading on this form!! Mancini was at the match today, so after that showing we can expect his youth team to arrive for the Carling Cup as they will be more than good enough to see us off!

The fans were the disgrace today; fickle, and an embarrasment.
Admired the way West Brom’s fans were with Di Matteo towards the end, never bleating about how he didnt know what he was doing, supported the team despite 13 defeats in 18 games.
Lessons to be learned from the enemy, i fear. Yes, our defence may make stupid, foolish mistakes and play in straight lines, but they give they’re all, and, in light of the past 25 years or so, these are the good times, believe it or not.

I watched the game funny enough we have played better and got nothing out of the game.. But this not the reason on why i am commenting for. everybody anti mick McCarthy forgot what he’s done for this club? Taking into consideration that we were favourites to go down 5 years ago. And then PROMISED us that he would get promotion within 3 years. I feel that the way mick McCarthy has been treated by the fans is an absolute disgrace and should a shame of yourselves.. Every club goes on a bad run.. And based on the heart and commitment on the players do you think that would of came of 0-2 down to get a draw i don’t think so. So rather then judging a manager over a period and 6 games why don’t you judge him of 5 years. If it wasn’t for MM in the 1st place we would be in the prem

Richard – so Wolves present demise is because McCarthy has had a lack of money to buy the necessary players but is a top coach. How much money did Swansea spend on their squad, yet they played us off the park for much of the match. It is possible to survive in the Premiership on limited funds but this involves getting the best out of the players in terms of management, motivation, organisation, tactics etc.
Listened to Radio 5 last night and the lady and gentleman who regarded McCarthy as a fantastic manager and i couldn’t believe what i was hearing. Worse still was the last match of last season being referred to as ‘exciting’. Oh yes it was exciting alright and we stayed up, but it was nothing to do with McCarthy. His contribution was to send out a team who were like rabbits in headlights and were 3-0 down by half time.
Last season we signed Fletcher – a player with a bit about him. How long did it take for stubborn Mick to actually give him a proper run in the team. Unless i am mistaken it the last two months of the season and his goals were pricelss.
Lets face facts, he probably has the worst record of any Premiership manager. Statistics like that don’t lie. He got us promoted and i thank him for that and he occasionally makes me laugh on Match of the Day. But his team selections, tactics, man management and pure stubborness are dragging the club down. He’s taken Wolves as far as he can and there are manager out there who can do better. But lets not automically go for a big name – why not bring in a young and hungry manager from a lower league.
What concerns me is that Steve Morgan came with the tag of a footballing man, having been brought up watching Liverpool. If this is the case, can he really be happy watching this week in week out, in the hope that Mick is magically going to turn things around. As has been referenced, Mick split the fans at Sunderland and Jez bled Stoke dry. I love Wolves too much to see this happen at Molineux and i hope Steve Morgan not only loves Wolves enough to do something or at least to make a cold business decision to change things.

It’s impossible to make sense of it all. The football dished up yesterday was dire, it simply had no place on any Prem pitch. Swansea weren’t great but were made to look like Barcelona. Even though the manager and his staff are clearly out of their depth in the Prem, any players on the books ought to be able to put in a better team performance than that.
Over to you Mr Morgan. Maybe a one division drop is something you can live with, maybe promotion came a bit earlier than you thought it would, but something has to happen and soon, or the financial loss relegation represents and fall out from any decent players we do have not wanting Championship football, may make the drop a long-term situation, and that surely can’t be an attractive proposition?
Well done to those fans attending yesterday, you deserved the two late goals having shown stoicism of a high order, and that despite being called numpties and morons etc before being told to ‘eff off’.
It seems the drop in standards in matters concerning Wolves is not restricted to those aimlessly kicking the ball about.

Lets be honest here, we completely got out of jail in this game and we never deserved it. That said though we were due a bit of luck.
I think we need to make changes at the club and quickly, i would either,
1 sack mccarthy and connor and get a new manager and assistant who hopefully will freshen things up and bring new ideas to the team.
or 2 Bring in a couple of experienced coaches to work alongside mick and try to acheive the same. The defensive coaching at the club is simply not working, this is our third season now and we still havent got to grips with the basics at the back( we didnt defend well in our promotion season either). It has to improve and sooner rather than later we cant keep giving teams a 2 goal head start.
I also think we need to give guedioura a chance from the start, in his correct position. Stearman, berra and henry are not up to this level of football.

The action to take must be for the benefit of the team. Mick has done great things and he is a legend but he seems a man who has reached the end. Brian Clough was a legend and his last season saw him relegate Forest much to everyone’s sadness and especially his. No one wants that for Mick.
There should be a place at the club for Mick and an undying gratitude from us fans but now is the time for a regeneration,a re-focus and new ideas and perhaps more effective tactics.
I would like Martin O’Neil as I believe he would keep us comfortable in the league and secure a couple of cup runs. At the end of the day that’s all we can really expect.

Calm down folks. We finally got a point we didn’t deserve. When I jeered the Henry substitution a couple of weeks back,I didn’t expect him or MM to be happy about it but it does seem to have had the desired effect on Henry at least. I wasn’t jeering the substitutions on this occasion because it was clearly a waste of time persevering with wingers whilst we’d got Doyle and SEB in the middle. In the circumstances, I can understand fans getting frustrated when they see players having worse games staying on but the bigger picture was that we needed to try something different. You can’t expect to abuse an individual under pressure and then expect them to take it lying down. And when the substitutions turn the game you should have the good grace to accept that the manager got it right. Some people were calling for McCarthy’s head even as we were getting promoted as champions and they are ready to jump on any opportunity to get him out. It’s notable that when we play well and lose people are only interested in the result and when we play badly and get a result they are only interested in the performance. We don’t have the budget to sign the best players or pay them the best wages. The best we can hope for is what we’ve got: A manager who brings in budget players and gets them to work really hard. In those circumstances we might get relegated with any manager. We should expect to be a yo-yo club but we’ve managed to stay up twice and got ideas above our station. And now we are we obsessed with sacking the manager who has got us here, has proven he can keep us here and, if the worst happened, would be top of the list to get us back?
Firstly well done for getting a point, but god knows how? That must but the worse performance I have ever watched at wolves in 30 years. Where’s the effort, pride and passion gone playing for wolves? These were the few values our wolves fans believed in because in most parts due to the lack of quality in the side. Quality that costs money! Worrying for me was that the leaders on the pitch such as Doyle, Ohara and Johnson, heads were down the whole game. It seems to me there is a rift in the dressing room between certain players on the pitch. Doyle not celebrating goal what’s his problem? Well played to Ward, Henry (whom although not playing well of late doesn’t deserve the abuse he seems to get), Hamill and Sam Volkes when he came on made a huge difference just by winning headers and closing down. I’m not a fan too demand the sacking of managers, or booing my on team but something needs sorting and fast, otherwise it’s fizzy pop league here we come.

What on earth is going on at the molinuex at the momment. As poor as the team are playing do we really think that by hitting the panic button and venting our disgust are going to help????.
All we are achieving is destroying the unity and spirit of what if nothing else are honest hard working players. This was evident yesterday, where as many have said, the players lost the fighting spirit. What do you expect these human beings to do when after 12 minutes into the game, sections of the fans can be heard chanting and groaning at them. Yes they get paid well, but the game is played in the head as much as the feet and playing with no confidence does not promote good football.
We need to stick together, get behind the players and trust the management team, who have steered us through the darkest times, HODDLE anyone!etc, no i didnt think so!We are still a PREMIERSHIP TEAM and will be come the end as long as we support the boys and lead them into the battle with a strong voice and bums on the seats.

Given some of the vile abuse he gets on these boards, and the derision he gets at some of your games, I personally don’t blame him. You might not think he’s the man to take the club forward, which is a fair point, but he’s still the only manager to drag your club into the PL and he’s kept you there. Perhaps he deserves a little more dignity than what he’s currently being shown from a large section of your ‘support’.

I have been a Wolves fan since 1960 and in the 51 years I have been SUPPORTING (key word there, ‘SUPPORTING’) the Club I have been through every emotion possible from the euphoria of promotions, League Cup successes, a UEFA Cup final etc to the dark, dark days of the 80′s when we not only dropped to Division 4 (League 2 as now) but almost went out of existence more than once and were playing in a ground wth 2 sides shut and gates of barely 2,000. I think I am therefore pretty well qualified to comment on the current state of affairs. So here are my views:
1 If your only reason for turning up at Molineux is to hurl abuse at what is supposed to be ‘your’ team then PLEASE stay away. For ever.
2 If you are the sort of ‘supporter’ who walks out long before the end of a game because we are losing then PLEASE stay away. For ever. (Suggest you go and ‘support’ someone else, probably whoever is winning at the time?)
3 Since 1976 by my reckoning we have had 16 different managers – am counting Sammy Chapman twice – from the bizarre (Graham Taylor) to the abysmal (Glenn Hoddle) and apart from Graham Turner aka the miracle worker Mick McCarthy is by far and away the best manager we have had. He is a perfect ‘fit’ for us, passionate, committed, honest, hard-working and despite the vocal army of moaners at the moment he is a brilliant manager.
4 Do the anti-Mick brigade have such short memories that they forget the Hoddle induced shambles that Mick inherited? To be where we are after 5 years is an immense achievement.
5 Who pray would the mindless idiots calling for Mick’s head want as manager? Steve McLaren? Sven? Ince? Doubt they even know as they obviously lack the intelligence to know a good thing when they see it.
6 Karl Henry has been our most consistent player over the past 5 years and is quite rightly the first name on the teamsheet. He is what Wolves are all about and those who cheered his substitution at the New castle game should PLEASE stay away. For ever.
There is not too much wrong with the team at the moment – we could have drawn at Liverpool if the referee had seen Carroll’s foul on Johnson and would have beaten unbeaten Newcastle had we not been cheated by Halsey TWICE. In players like Hammill, Jarvis, Hunt etc we have good wide players. In Doyle, Fletcher and SEB we have good forwards – we need a 4th – and in Henry, O’Hara & Milijas we have good central midfielders. Hennessey is one of the best keepers in the Premier League. Where we do have problems is in defence. Personally I think we should have ditched Berra as soon as promotion was secured in 2009 and continuing to play such a liability is an error I feel. Equally our insistence on playing non-full backs at full back is wrong. Stearman and Ward are NOT full backs. The combination of playing Berra and two non-full backs is exposing Johnson and making our back 4 look vulnerable.
Other than that PLEASE keep the faith! COME ON YOU WOLVES!

This morning, I’m not only still shell-shocked at such a pathetic performance, but I’m also trying to get my head around Mick telling fans to ‘F*** off’. Fair enough, he’s only human and yes, he’s under severe pressure -a situation created entirely by himself and not the fans, let’s not forget- but there’s simply no excuse to be had for him reacting this way. Mick is the very public face of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and, if Morgan and Moxey were to think such behaviour can be condoned or deemed acceptable from a member of the club’s senior management, then I’d despair for them.
Ironically, Jez Moxey has taken years of stick -some richly deserved, some most definitely not- yet, whatever you may think of him, at least give the guy credit for handling himself with dignity when faced with such criticism. Sporting that ‘Fat Controller’ shirt at Matt’s testimonial shows he’s got a sense of humour and aint about to hide. Respect for that, so perhaps Mick should take a leaf out Moxey’s book. Certainly, swearing at the crowd won’t win you any friends -but it may result in even more fans turning their back on you -and it probably has.
Mick, your latest outburst clearly shows you’re losing it. It also shows contempt for those that subsidise your fat salary. Had you shown a little humility over the years; had you listened to heartfelt complaints from the fanbase instead of deriding and belittling them; if you’d not cut yourself as some sort of solitary, distant figure…well, maybe you’d have had the fans’ total support at this time of crisis. Instead, your contempt for ‘numpty’ fans has come back to bite you on the bum. I always knew it would. Bad move, Mick.
I respect the bullish stance you showed on Match of The Day, but even that had its price as the resident pundits effectively mocked you. I actually felt sorry for you at that point, Mick…but not half as sorry as I do for the Molineux faithful who’ve been subjected to woeful performances and results. Still, at least those M.O.T.D highlights made Wolves look very, very much better than they actually were over the full 90 minutes.
Mick, please do the honourable thing and resign. If you can’t do it for us or for the good of the club, then do it for yourself because, I’m telling you: you look 10 years older than you did in August, mate.
Unfortunately, so do we…

Who would be a manager or a fan eh? Cries of “let the manager do his job” were a bit thin on the ground today weren’t they? We have seen the job he is doing and in any other type of endeavour he would have been in the office a long tine ago.I must take issue with Sky and their coverage. They were only really interested in the unrest at the club and not the game. The commentator referred many times to the booing of weeks past, and unfortunately Don Goodman his fellow pundit took the bait and joined in too. Careful editing showed the crowd getting behind the team only after the equaliser, when in fact it was after the first goal. And if I hear the word “fickle” when describing the fans again I’ll just boo myself to sleep. Also they showed about a dozen fans off to the pub early and tried to make into a mass exodus Newcastle style. Coverage is meant to be unbiased. As for the team they kept on till the end I suppose, the substitutions worked out but we must face facts and on this form we are once again in trouble. As The Stranglers once said “Something better change” because if there is one thing more depressing than an empty terrace it is an empty new terrace, ask them at Coventry City.
By the way Bertanernie(19)I’ll have a pint of whatever you are on.

Our poor defence is costing the confidence of the whole team. Stearman who I rate at CH is a poor mans right back. Stephen Ward along with Hennessey are the only two who can hold their head high. In midfield Henry looks the weak link, teams realise that if they stop Ohara they stop Wolves playing. Adlene surely needs to start in place of henry with either Hunt or Milijas playing behind Doyle.
Overall MM is frustrating supporters with his team selections and patterns of play. Playing injured out of form is sending the fans in the stands over the edge. With MM reportedly swearing (not confirmed)at fans on Saturday it could signal a swift end. It appears the season is set for another nail biting finale.

Came back from the match, and watched the after match interview on Sky.
McCarthy is an embarrassment both to himself, and the club.
Sarcasim is the lowest form of wit,and if i had been the interviewer,id have felt like straighting out his nose.
It dont cost anything to be polite Mick.
Or is that the done thing in Barnsley.

Agree with che wolf (78).
Mick has done a good job, the ‘fans’ who chant, “you don’t know what you’re doing” do so before the changes take effect – we get a point. Even though I concede before the game I would’ve been disappointed with a draw.
I agreed with the Henry sub against Newcastle but I certainly didn’t sarcastically cheer at his departure.
People forget this is the man who took us up from the championship, kept us up and then improved on the points tally from that season.
When confidence is low and you’re on a poor run fans turning on the manager and team will never help. As a supporter I am supporting my club, board, manager, and players.

You all know what you are going at Wolves a thriving business yes but it has to be subsidised by the quality of the team and manager.
And of course the supporters who expect get fair entertainment for their money.
Moxey is trying to market something that is short of the talent required to challenge in the Premiership, like many other clubs in this league we only fight to stay in it.
McCarthy is there to provide entertainment to the paying public; currently the show is not anywhere near the standard that we all expect therefore the box office is down on ticket sales.
It’s all down to Moxey to convince Morgan that they need to invest in the entertainment rather that the capital projects that will of course affect the balance sheet.
Don’t be fooled, the business is fine it’s the entertainment that is suffering through lack of investment.
You put up with it, show dissatisfaction at the games or stay away until you consider that the business is providing for a substantial team on the pitch to provide you with the entertainment that you expect.
I am afraid that it is Morgan’s Club, with Moxey nicknamed the Account running it, and then we have a stubborn Yorkshire man managing it; they don’t come any tighter than that.

78..Che Wolf……and you’ve been to all the games of course ? What we observed yesterday was utterly awful. Swansea were robbed. We were out played until the last 10 minutes then they threw it away. Mick has no idea of what to do. Yesterday he took off one of our better players in Hammill – why ? Then having taken off both wingers he brings Vokes on in place of SEB !! I’m sorry the man has no idea at the moment. I am grateful and will always be grateful for what he has done for this club but enough is enough.
On a brighter note though I thought Henry had a very good game yesterday (and most of you will know how I feel about Henry !!). Fair play to him yesterday – he was like the man who did so well for us in the Championship.

At last someone else is realising nwhat i have been saying for at least two years.
Sean o Driscoll is worth a punt. Decent/wolves fan/will play decent football.
It is the margins in this game that count, and SOD’s start this year cost him his job, pitty Morgan doesnt react as quickly.
Other names mentioned are MON+Mark H -too costly
Alan C out of game too long although you could say the same about Kenny D.?
Survival means stand investment not player investment although DOlye/Roger Kenny everett Johnson/ S Flecher/Johara would appear to be big money for average players.
Predict Woles will survive anfd the Stand will look good, however i have lost patience and will not be renewing my Wolves season ticket.

Anyone on here regularly will know I have been backing Mick through thick and thin for years. We owe him a tremendous debt and it disgusts me that people abuse him and TC.
However the display yesterday appalling. Ironically Henry was probably our best outfielder. The two goals conceded were both appalling defending. Johnson’s decision for the first was bizarre. For the second Berra was too far upfield and O’Hara too lazy to track his man. Confidence is at an all time low, but the players to seem to start games well until (usually after about 10 minutes!) we let a goal in. I honestly think if we had lost yesterday Mick would have gone. The reaction in the southbank to the Doyle goal was very mixed and I got the feeling that many people thought that a defeat was a price worth paying if he went.
I am worried now that we have reached the stage where the atmosphere is so poisonous that there is no choice but for the club to move on. Board wan’t go, players won’t go, so only one way to change. Defeat next week and we are back with a huge pressure game v Wigan, playing a much better team than Swansea.

To lose and then draw against teams newly promoted from the Championship at home is unacceptable and the paying fans deserve better than this despite what the happy clappers say it is a results driven business. Clearly MM has lost the plot because he now feels it’s okay to eff and blind at the fans in the Billy Wright who like him are also having a bad day well it’s not okay and these people pay good money and should be respected and not driven out. I do feel that SM and JM should have realized that this squad was not strong enough and invested on the team and not the stadium.

74. Ludlowwolf….No he didn’t save us a point. Swansea threw away two points. people were not happy with Hammill coming off because he had played pretty well. I’m certain Mick McCarthy is suffering from delusions. And quite typically of people with this condition he refuses to acknowledge it to be the case. I refer to the idea he has that the crowd booed Karl Henry being substituted as boos directed not at himself but at Karl Henry, something which has been clarified many times over on this noticeboard.
Now McCarthy has the temerity to suggest his substitutions against Swansea were an example of his astuteness:
“It seems my substitutions were hopeless, I got that all wrong and was just very fortunate.”
The truth is, he WAS very fortunate and that’s all he was. Not clever, not intelligent, just fortunate. He thinks he got it right. Says it all. The man is only good enough, like half of his first team players, to be above average level for the Championship. The sooner he is gone, the sooner Wolves fortunes can be turned around.
Mick McCarthy has publicly stated he is satisfied with his squad. Really?
“There were loads of things that went wrong with the goals we conceded but I’m not going to stand here and analyse them all,” he said.
No, as likely as not he won’t, otherwise he might just discover the truth about how inadequate players are poorly coached by his own staff and that maybe, just maybe, the one they call the gaffer, could be the one at fault.

68 Richard , is you surname Stearman ?
How can you be a football fan and have so little grasp of what’s going on. Loyalty is a good thing but your on another planet , how much has Pullis spent in the last 4 years in comparison with MM ? as you say yourself difference is he spent it well and MM wasted it. And who was it said at the start of the season that he was happy with the squad he had and that they were capable of mid table.I can’t even remember how many players MM has brought and let go without giving them a chance,e.g. Muyukolo . MM has had 5 years and the team is a shambles the man has no idea if that’s not obvious by now your deluded. Look at West Brom , N’castle , Stoke etc two of them have changed their manager in the last 18 mths and there still miles ahead of us . I have seen almost all the games this season and our defence /organisation is none existent.MM’s premier record speaks for it’s self what makes anybody think that all of a suden he’s going to massively improve this awful record , in his 3 previous seasons in the prem has his record improved significantly ? If he stays with his massive misplaced ego and arrogance the best we can hope for is to be in the relegation battle.
The gate for the Man City game will be interesting

ive kept it a day before making my points.
We were totally outplayed for 83 mins. There is a total lack of confidence in the team especially with our skipper Johnson who needed to be a leader today and instead was inept and responsible for both goals we conceded. i think Henry should be given the armband back at the moment.
Hennessey was superb and had to make some very goods saves. He had no protection from our so called defence.
Mick seemed proud of his substitutions that did pay off in the end, but needs to look at himself with his team selection from the start.
The good news is that we got out of jail and there is a lot if fighting spirit in the team.
We have stopped the rot and when I look at the teams below us like bolton we are not in such a bad rut.
While i admired the pride and passion Mick showed in his post match interview, he was not very honest. Yes we scored 2 goals but this was a game we needed to win and he got his team selection and tactics totally wrong. He also has no respect for the fans who have had to watch dross for 6 games and you could see by the atmosphere even at 2-2 that he is losing the fans .
Owen Coyne at bolton didnt hide after losing 6 games and acknowledged the fans frustrations and that they pay good money but mick couldnt even bring himself to mention the fans.
I’m sure we’ll get another Tim Spiers article about the fans negativity, and that Mick knows what he’s doing.
But I know this when you have a very poor run and the fans turn against you partly because your too arrogant to talk to them, you end up getting sacked!!!

SOME WOLVES “FANS” SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.
Yes we used our get out of jail free card yesterday, yes it was a poor performance for 80 mins, yes we did not deserve a point, and yes 1 point in 18 is still relegation for. And even yes Mick may have taken us as far as he can.
BUT……come on. When the guy took over from that idiot Hoddle, he had NO team at all, and gave us a side to be proud of, then won the championship, and kept us in the Premier League 3 years running (just). The abuse he got from some sections of the fans was disgusting, SOME OF YOU HAVE VERY SHORT MEMORIES.
I have been a huge McCarthy fanm he’s honest, and hard working, like the teams he puts out. He may not be the best tactically but his sides always…..always give 110%. However, THAT seems to be what has changed at the moment. 6 months ago that side would have run thriugh a brick wall for him, now they’re being knocked over with feathers.
Johnson as club captain is a disgrace…..body language of a guy who has given up. You should be out there getting the players going, not moping around.
Jarvis, for an England “international” yesterday was a disgrace. Probably did’nt even need to wash his shirt.
Come on guys…..maybe Mick does need to go ( hopefully not) but at least give the guy the respect he deserves. we’ve had managers here before who wasted millions and gave us nothing, Mick has given us everything and we treat him like that.
THE PLAYERS NEED TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED (AND THAT INCLUDES YOU MR JOHNSON….IF YOU REALLY WOULD RATHER SIT ON CHELSEAS BENCH THEN CLEAR OFF).

By taking off couple of attacking players, the Swansea manager allowed Wolves back into the game. The draw was not a piece of MM magic.
No pity for Mick, he is paid to manage the football team and if the praises are sung for previous efforts , then he has to take the stick if his bungles the job.
Think carefully of how he operates , Henry was his captain, even thought he was top of the pile, What does he do? He signs a player who went down with his previous club to the Championship, the player does not know the club, yet, MM makes him captain. Would you feel happy playing under his methods?
As yet, staff backroom and players, have yet to produce passing football such as Swansea did, it was a big gaff by B Rogers, Wolves were heading for a good hiding Just by not utilising Millijas indicates what type of football the management seem to want,, why did he buy him. As yet there is no nuturing of young players. SEB was not fit, why not bring on Wokes earlier?
But why blame Mick, he is the fall guy at the club but he appears to be hapy in that position

Mick Mcarthy should be sacked for no other reason than abusing the paying customers’unprofessional and unacceptable and would not be tolerated by any other club.
He then has the audacity to say his substitutions changed the game, wrong Brendan Rodgers taking his best two palyers off changed the game!
MM always claims his players put a shift in wrong they did not for eighty minutes with Roger Johnson the worst offender, it looked like he wanted to be anywhere apart from Molineux, he needs to be stripped of the captaincy and rested in the reserves until his attitude changes.
Wardy has improved beyond recognition but he is still learning the position of left back the Premiership is not the place to do this. Jarvis and O’Hara have been disappointing. Doyler’s words were informative the dressing room was at it’s lowest ebb at half time MM obviously did not enhance the feeling judging by the performance at the start of the 2nd half.
17 corners in the last two games and we have not created a chance! What do we do all week? Set plays should be our best chance of scoring.

McCarthy is determined to burn all bridges with the fans. These are the people who, during economically difficult times turn up week in and week out to watch their team, and what they are seeing is utter garbage.
We have been made to look like a Conference team AT HOME by two of the promoted sides.
What I expected after that shambolic performance, was a bit of humility from McCarthy, an effort to reach out to the fans to keep them onside, instead we got an arrogant, narcissistic diatribe aimed at the supporters – how dare we critisise him?
I think McCarthy should be sacked for his pig-headed contempt for the fans, let alone his complete inability to manage in the Premier League. The man is a disgrace.

Show me something special; you’ve got to be joking. There was nothing out there but 11 men scared to take control and looking at others to do something. Game plan…nothing, Swansea walked through us and we didn’t know what to do, but they did. Captain never speaks to his players. The team all turn their back on a goal keeper not expecting a short ball to build possession through defence. It was so sad to watch. And nothing done at half time. Then the subs. I’ve never seen the crowd turn on a manager like that. Not even the last home game for graham Taylor, McGhee, Hoodle. That was quite frightening, but we were so so poor so poor. And watching the manager inept. AND even after the subs, what was the game plan, the players looked lost, Henry not Johnson went for instructions. And Swansea were celebrating before the final whistle and we get a tap in then they lose their discipline and we snatch something. After all we have done, I still cannot believe what i saw played on the pitch. Complete lack of confidence and belief. AND AND , I was in that crowd , all of us in the south bank behind the team at the beginning, all shouting and wanting it. For the first time I think I’ve seen MM loose the plot, because tactics and plans and doing homework and communicating that are needed as well as blood and guts and shifts and honesty. The next level we do not possess, keep spending and the win ratio doesn’t go up……start asking questions. And for godsake, drop the out of form players, let them dig deep into their souls to come back and fight, because it must be awful sitting on the bench wondering what you need to so to get a look in , especially when they play better after coming on and the favourites drop right back in and you come on again to rescue their #### ups. I’ll be back on Wednesday night lol

Filtonwolf (Bristol) – Its funny because you say Swansea were robbed, Yet Im sure you were one of the moaners that complained when we lost against Newcastle, and in that match we fully deserved 3 points, not just from our performance but from our goals scored, but were robbed by a poor ref.
Im sorry but Swansea are a newly promoted club, and these clubs will go in front countless times this season, only to be punnished by better teams. We played poor, yet still came away with a point, something Utd and Co. get away with on a regular basis. I could understand your comment if the result was out of their hands such as a refs decision, but thats not the case.
Did anyone actually watch the match? Did no one notice the huge improvement when we got that 1st goal back. It had nothing to do with the players picked, or the tactics used, but the fact our confidence was boosted. If these players regain their confidence, it doesnt matter whos in charge, we will finish mid table. Doyle actually wanted the ball, and O’hara actually wanted to get forward. this run of form is all down to confidence, not down to management or players picked. Mark my word, as soon as we get a win, we will look like a completely different team and it wont be because of a change in tatcics or players or management, but because of added confidence. It really is that simple.

Its never easy being a Wolves fan and only a portion of the blame should go to the manager. The board should be backing him up more in the transfer market. Not enough investment especially when you buy the club for a tenner. There were loads of decent players to be had before the season kicked off and we let them go. As I have said in previous posts, Muppet has been a lucky manager so far but it looks like the luck is running out. The fact that he and clipboard are still in a job says much about the ambition of Moxey and Morgan.
It is laughable that Moxey thinks the new stadium will be flooded with fans eager to take up the extra capacity when the team puts in performances like we have seen in the past month.
Just stay away, keep your money and don’t go until the performance improves. Once their cashflow starts to disappear we will soon have a new manager. Fans just don’t realise how much power they have. It’s only the fans turning up that keeps Muppet and sidekick in a job.

I don’t think Henry had a good game at all. He did a few good things but he also wasted some attacking play by shoddy attempts at long distance shooting and I counted at least 5 direct passes to Swansea players. I don’t care about how well he played for the rest of the game that’s inexcusable for a so called regular Premiership central midfielder. Every pass should be spot on.
Yet again no apparent plan B and this has always been the case. Unless we score first we are going to lose. At 2-0 a least one sub should have come on at half time. not 25-30 mins later when the game is coming to an end.
Why take Hammill off he was our best player?
Why is Guedioura still not starting?
Why after 5 defeats are we still starting with the same defence? (With the exception of Ward at QPR)
Why are so many of our players getting injured outside of games?
Why didn’t we strengthen our defence more in the transfer window?
These questions need answering Mick we’re the ones paying your wages.

I dont know about some of us who would like to see a change of management having short memories maybe its because we have LONG memories. The time to make changes is now while there IS still time for a new managment team to do something. Its no good waiting till we are so behind any half decent managers or players would want to come! This is the second club MM has been in charge of in the top flight and while he was’nt backed financially by Sunderland up untill this season he has been by Wolves. Was he saying he was happy with his squad just to deflect lack of more funds in the summer? It is not clear to see that we needed a LB,another CB, why not the partner he played well with at brum? MF, and a real consistant goalscorer? and if it was the board then they should be straigt with us paying fans. I renewed my two season tickets even though i knew i couldn;t realy afford them and the cost of traveling up from Cornwall, in the hope we would consolidate this season. I was away at the weekend and so only watched the recording when I returned home yesterday .
The performance , like so many recently , was abysmal and it is very difficult ro see what can possibly go on on the training ground . Every week players rush to the press to tell us how they have watched the errors and how they are working to eradicate them only for exactly the same errors to occur again . The manager , a centre half when playing , does not seem to be able to judge the type of player he wants for that role at the club . He initially , on his arrival , tried to get rid of Jody Craddock only ro be forced to change his mind at a later date . He has since bought Darren Ward , Jason Shackell , Ronald Zubar , Christophe Berra , Steven Moyoukolo and Richard Johnson while also trying previously , but not when he was available recently , Scott Dann . He has failed to give the likes of Danny Batth a chance here but has still failed to fill the position adequately . I also found his interview to be insulting to fans who have a long and very intense love of the club and his attitude is permanently that HE and HE alone is the professional and we are , in his words , the numpties . His only coaching or mptivating appears to be geared towards ‘ putting in a shift ‘ and this in the league we are in is laughable .
Where oh where do we go from here ?

222. Realist….what’s so funny ? Swansea were robbed and no I wasn’t one of those that booed when we lost against Newcastle. I did think we were robbed by a poor ref. So you’re wrong on both counts…..never mind. However you cannot escape the fact that the first half against Newcastle and most of the game against Swansea we were dire. Against Newcastle he took off Henry and bought on Guedioura and he had an instant impact on the way the team played. So what does Mick do ? He drops him back to the bench again and has the nerve to say after 5 defeats in a row that we must pabnic and now is not the time for change !!! Wrong now is the time for change….things cannot be right if we lose five on the bounce and we are played off the park by a newly promoted club. Do you realise the stats show that Swansea had 63% of the possession ? You mention the “huge” improvement after we scored the 1st goal…..that was about 86 mins in to the game !! Why did it take that long ? Don’t you think it was more Swansea throwing the game away by substituting their two best players at the wrong time ?
I have followed the Wolves through thick and thin for around 45 years and will continue to do so. i support the team and do not boo or call for the managers resignation during a game. However I reserve the right to speak my mind on these boards.

Well McCarthy may have got us up but on the evidence of a couple of campaigns he isn’t much cop at this level
Why not ask him to take the same medicine he dishes out to players he deems not good enough for this level and go find his level in the Championship

Man city hammered UTD yesterday! Oh My God! We are playing them twice this week! It doesn’t bear thinking about the score line but, sorry to be pesimistic just being realistic, i don’t think it’s going to be nice. City are very hungry for cups etc and they will be taking any scalps they can! Hope we can pull something out of MM’s Bag, if he’s still here, but i’m not hopefull. I will be there supporting our club and always will but times are grim.
UTW.

Nothing to shout about. We saw the same mistakes, the same deficiencies, the same horrible players and the same MM antics. Disgraceful, no less and no more. I shudder when I remember that our next 2 games are against no less than Manchester City.

Man City next… :-( Twice :-(
Not looking forward to that.
As for Saturday I was suicidal at about 2:30. So I have never been more ecstatic about a point.
Another rollercoaster ride of a season ahead…

Tactics were poor, and to say wolves improved when we scored is a joke.Swansea paniced, they were all over the place.Showed what a poor team Swansea are, and they made wolves look terrible for 80 minutes. All about the tactics.
Cannot beileve how we play at the back,no cover for the centre backs from the full backs.Stearman was playing like a winger on their second goal,to wide to many gaps.Come on Mick sort it out.

Lucky we were not 4 down and Vokes changed the game the one he said he wasn’t good enough and played Ward upfront against Spurs..
Good subs or not, again we started with the wrong line up
He really doesn’t know what he’s doing!!
Taxi for mick pls….

My bladder was full – so I went to the loo, after all we were 2-0 down and nothing appeared to be happening to change that. I heard the cheers when Doyle scored and was watching the monitor after I finished and saw the second!! I was still in the ground, I had no intention of leaving, but did not want to go back to my seat because they scored when I was not there!!! The final whislte blew – too little too late!!! I look back at the game and agree that we did not play well at all. I also look at last seasons stats: Sat 23 Oct 10 – Played: 9 Points: 6 Posn: 19th. The next game that season was against Man City as it is this season, and whilst we had only won once so far we went on to beat them. We are not playing well, but have got more points and in a better posn than last season. We are therefore better than we were last season (fact), so have therefore improved (fact), I therefore remain positive that we will remain a Premier League side (hope). Come on you Wolves

…………..Morgan probably doesn’t read any of this and if he does, he’s as thick skinned as the manager, unless the job is up for grabs by now. Alan Curbishley please.

231 – I haven’t got a short memory either, KHLF. Wolves fans who are currently under fire for daring to complain about awful performances, results and highly suspect ‘value for money’ trips to Molineux these days are, as it happens, the very same fans who lifted the roof for 90 mins while having to endure a 0-6 mauling at home to Southampton. Remember the superb plaudits our fans got for their truly amazing support? Molineux was surreal that day. Certainly, I don’t recall experiencing anything quite like it before.
So, we need to ask ourselves what’s changed in the 4 years that have elapsed since that game against the Saints. As we have exactly the same supporter base in place today, then the problem obviously lies with the club itself.
Simple logic, methinks.

For all those people calling for MM to be sacked,I will be amazed if it happens. This club is not run for the benefit of the fans but merely how on how little the club can get away with spending. So, as it will obviously cost a bit to get rid of Mick and his team ,I just cant see it happening.Morgan would rather see us relegated than spend cash he doesnt have to. A dreadfull performance Saturday, but should we be surprised?. SEVEN of the team that started were with us when we were promoted out of the championship. That statistic says it all IMHO.

I see our Captain is having a bash at the fans again today in the press. While he may have a point that the some fans may have been a bit ott towards MM (and another lacklustre display) i wonder how he would like to justify his own inadeqate performance? After a promising start he now seems to have lost his leadership skills as well as any football skills. Maybe he is now being shown up for what he was last season…the weaker link of a cenrtal defensive duo!!! No way to win the fans of your new club over is it???

I am astounded even if it is only a handful that are calling the true fans “NEGATIVE”!
98% of WOLVES fan’s can not be wrong.
MICK is a “LOSER” otherwise how can one only win “”25 GAMES”" Out of a staggering “”127″” and “TALK” as if we are winning every game.
Mick brought us up, we all recognise this “FACT”.We also recognise the areas that he is not able to improve on hence the same debates continue for the last 2.5yrs.
MICK thank you for your efforts but seriously you are now at a stage were you have no where to go other than the “EXIT”.
I am not even going to waste my time too explain where you are constantly going wrong,98% of the fans have voiced their thoughts through various sources.
Yet you and a half dozen of wolves fans cant see what is wrong.

Roger johnsen is a premiership defender, it’s the fact hes playing with with a championship defence! (bar ward) and its showing!! I would of thought mick being an ex defender would be able to sort out the back four, but obviously not, but with that do we even have a defensive coach??????

The few folks defending the team and MM (and thats obvisouly not Roger “sush” Johnson..boom boom)
Think on this….some of these players are paid £30,000+ A WEEK FOR (mostly) working 90 MINUTES A WEEK!!!
£30,000!!!!..that is a disgusting amount of money for what they (dont) do.
It will take me nearly 3 years to pick up that sort of money…
Johnson thinks we shouldnt be critical!!!! WHAT planet do you live on Mr Sush??…
Gone are the days of honest footballers who you even sometimes saw in the pub after matches (Robert Hopkins stand up)..this is the day of the overpaid..uneducated..not paticularly better gifted footballers who half the time dont even get their kit dirty…
You earn that money, you think your untouchable …think again.

Also for Mr Mick.
You can stay if you want but if you do…can someone show you where your players actually play??
Can someone pick the team for you?
Can we actually judge the team on where the players are supposed to play?? you may be a great manager when the team is correct and out of form players arent picked ahead others.
Then at the end of the match you can give the press another hilariously witty gobload.

Look, football is a game of passion, when you boo or shout abuse- you arent thinking rationally its cos you care and are frustrated. I didnt boo, but who didnt want to shout a few expletives! We were 2-0 down at home to Swansea (no disrespect but we need to beat them to stay up!)
If some players and the Billy Quiets dont get it, who cares? I dont go to football to watch passively. I go to implore my team from the deepest reaches of my soul.
Football fans the world over are the same from the dad on the sideline of schoolboy football to the stretford end at MUFC.
I love Wolves. I can still hate Roger Johnson who wears the shirt like its a fashion item not part of a proud heritage. And whose finger to the lips action shows how out of touch he is. He must be the most hated captain in world football, a John Terry wannabe but never will be.
When i went in the 70s, it was the same passion – better team – less friction. And the players lived amongst us. In the early-mid 80s, depressing, same tension – massive frustration, with the owners – but when it picked up – the run in the 4th division to the playoffs it was electric. That is how football is. The atmosphere us same fans generated in the 4th division was amazing, once the team started playing – but even under Graham Turner at the start he was wanted out. Not rationally – or because Brian Little was a favourite- but because it wasnt going well and we needed to lash out.
In the end, its the team, the manager, the owner most of all actually who makes the difference. Compare and contrast Man City now, to Wolves of the early-mid 80s. Who would say the fans were at fault, or to credit for the failure or success of the two teams?
I dont mind the modern players riches. I despise the swagger and arrogance that comes of getting lucky and not realising it. If it wasnt for the taylor report, and skys vision, Roger Johnsone would be picking up a couple of grand a week at best and thinking about his normal life after football amongst us.
Most Wolves players of the 4th and 3rd divisions earn an honest wage now, one might work in your company. Never going to be an issue for Roger Johnson.
So – its not the fans. Its the owners who give the budget, appoint the manager, who in turn chooses the players to buy and sell (most importantly) and play.
The fans are passionate always. No change. That is football.
McCarthy’s decision to buy Johnson is the worst he has made. The fact he knew he was lippy but liked it, is a misjudgement. He must be reflecting on that now and we will now see how good an owner Wolves have.

lane – Although i agree that some players are on way too much. They do in fact work more than 90 minutes a week as they train every day aswell. They also have to change the way they live to play football, by eating correctly and living healthy, which is something not expected in manay normal jobs.
The most important thing is though, Its a job that not everyone can do, most jobs a complete novice can walk into, other jobs, may require a bit of training but once the training is done anyone can do it. Football is completely different. Your local pub beer belly fan cant just decide one day he wants to be a premier league footballer. You have to devote your life to it from a very early age, and that is why the players are paid considerably more than you or me.

The reason why we have frustrated supporters is that the owners over the past 20 years have given them the impression that it is a big club with big ambitions. So when they are promised ‘vintage champagne’ and end up with flat lemonade instead, frustration builds up over time and spills out when there are poor team performances -just like recently.
The club needs to be more open and relastic with the fans. Building a new ground is a vanity project and was not really required. However, it gives the impression that we ought to have big new ground because we are a big club. The supporters feel that this investment should have been diverted into building a true premiership strength squad instead.
There is no excuse for not backing the team but management are just as culpable as the fans in my opinion for the poor relationship.
