Wolves players issue a rallying call

Wolves players today joined together in a rallying call to unite the Molineux masses for Saturday’s big clash against Swansea.

Fans frustrated at the five-match losing streak and the Black Country derby defeat to West Brom have been calling for manager Mick McCarthy’s head on messageboards and Twitter, although many are now urging their full support for Saturday’s game.

Wolves have lost three in a row at home and the players are desperate to see the crowd united in their backing this weekend to turn around the team’s fortunes.

Midfielder Jamie O’Hara said: “We’ve all got to stick together and, hopefully, on Saturday the fans get behind us. If we start bickering at each other then it’s not going to do anything for the team.”

Playmaker Nenad Milijas added: “Swansea at home is maybe the biggest game of the season for us. We must take three points from that one and there is a lot of pressure on us.”

Winger Adam Hammill said: “We need to play well to get the fans on board and everyone has to be united for Saturday’s game.”

    Keep The Faith

It is absolutely vital that, whatever our differences of opinion,on Saturday the whole crowd get behind the team from the start and, perhaps more importantly, stay with them if we go behind.
We can be the team’s biggest asset but we are sometimes a big liability and the opposition feed off the unrest.

Hopefully, Wolves will do their bit to get the crowd up beforehand and we won’t be subjected to the usual pre-match drivel from the PA announcer!

It will then be up to Mick to get the lads up for it – something he seems to do for the big clubs but not the likes of Swansea. This time, he has to get it right.

    Actions speak louder than words.

Jamie – it’s five defeats in a row and we’ve lost to our bitter rivals, put in a complete no-show against a newly promoted side who we made look like Brazil, lost three on the bounce at home scoring one goal and conceding 7, scored twice in 6 games etc. etc.

But the fans will get behind you – certainly at the start. Then it’s up to you. I would much prefer you saying “We’ll aim to make the fans happier” rather than focusing on the fans. Adam is right – please take this on board.

    The majority of fans will always be behind wolves! We need to get the basics right;

    Defending:
    Stick with man
    Quick closing
Contesting every 1st and 2nd ball

    Attacking:
    Short, quick passing
    Creating space
    Beat 1st man on corners
    Take responsability and shoot!

All the above we haven’t been doing!
Football is a simple game that we seem to be over-complicating!

Good luck at trying to do that then.

And as for Moxey – the fans have voted with their feet at last. That’s why the pubs are full. The beer is cheaper and the entertainment they are watching is probably another club worth watching.

Let’s try Doyle at right back on Saturday – nothing to lose eh?

It’s all well and good issuing a rallying call, problem is we have Mick and Clipboard leading the troops!!

    Players out of form need dropping – team should be as follows;

    Hennessey
    Zubar
    Craddock
    Berra
    Ward
    Hunt
    Milijas
    Guedioura
    Hammill
    Doyle
    Ebanks

No room in the team for the big money wasters like Captain slow Johnson and WAGman O’Hara, the Crab or out of form Jarvis.

Another loss and Mick has to go.

I didnt put a message on the board on Sunday, as i needed time to calm down/reflect after Sunday’a match. I however did agree and disagree with alot of the comments made, but ive always excepted other people views, after all thats what the boards are for ‘people opinions’ I think the game was a fairly even contest, but came down to ‘clinical finishing’ they put two away, and we missed two very good chances Doyle’s / Johnson’s, as we all know goals change/win matches, had Doyle’s gone in ,it could have been a different game,Johnson’s header was a bad miss. IMO Doyle doesn’t get into many goal scoring positions anymore,he’s either out wide or playing behind the D. Top strikers like the young Man U lad H , Livp’l little striker S are always in n around the box, were most top strikers score their goals. I know ive made this point before ,but top clubs have 4 top strikers, and we should have got one in during the transfer window, even a loan for MU Machenda? would have been better than nothing, but MM said he couldn’t guarantee him a place? I find that hard to believe, when so many of our players play ‘week-in week-out’,whether they are in form or not. i will say it again we should have bought Shane Long in January, not in this summer’s transfer window, but either MM didnt fancy him, or Morgan/Moxey wouldn’t sanction the deal, and i know which i believe it was, has ive never known a manager not want to bring in as many players as possible. Lets face it, he would sooner play a full back/midfielder ,before he’d give Vokes a run of matches, yes he will give him 10-20mins at times, but how unfair is that on any striker, he should be given a run,and if he cant hack it,then get rid of him in January and buy someone who can? The Mcfadden drama again proves its all about ‘MONEY’ the guy is like most footballers just ‘GREEDY’ yes he’s injury prone, but on his day, he’s a decent player who would have done a good job for us, but MM said we made him ‘our best offer’ well we all know ‘our offers’ are well below most clubs in the BPL. We could have got two quality defenders in Woodgate / Upson who even with one-fit leg are better than any of our CH’s, but again it was all about ‘WAGES’ even on a pay-as-you-play deal Morgan/Moxey wouldn’t do a deal for either player. Dont get me wrong im not a McCarthy supporter,i felt with his ‘limited knowledge’ he had taken us as far as he could before the end of last season, but if the two M’s wont back him ,when they promised him two CH’s a LB, a Midfielder, and a striker, yet only got him a player already here on loan, and one CH Johnson, so its not all MM fault. Also his coach TC,who imo should have left this club when Dave Jones was sacked. Id like to see Gus Poyet in as manager and Ray Wilkins as coach, yes it would cost money for them both, but it would be money well spent, again its ‘IMO’ UTW:

This is absurd, how can the fan’s be questioned in relation to their support for the club.?
Fan’s love the club more than any player in the “SQUAD”!
The majority of the fan’s only want the best for the club,if that means getting on the backs of certain individuals who get paid handsomely and are not producing so be it!
No one and I mean no one at Wolves can say that the fans are on their backs unfairly!
Not one player apart from Ward (who I didnt want in the team has he was poor, but as turned his game around this season)can say they have been at their best, some players have been a complete disgrace to the shirt the club and the fans.
My Heart would never want Wolves to lose a match, this time though my brain is telling me lose and “MM” and “clipboard” will have tooo go.
It is difficult to accept such inept performances especially after regestiring seven points from the first 3!
Yet after this super confident start we have gone like a ton of bricks go down in water!!!
I for one new that Fulham,Blackburn underperformed in those games,as the next round of games against these two will suggest as much.
All I ask is play football lad’s,go and try and win give it your best do your best and you will get the best.
Be honesty with yourself if you feel out of form or injured take yourself out of the firing line,do not let your ego’s bring the club down.

Give us something to cheer then! A goal would be a good start.

6 goals from 8 games is pitiful at any level of the game, especially with the opposition we have faced so far.

We create good chances, pass the ball well but there is nobody who seems prepared to gamble or try to be in the goalscoring position at the right time. Whether this is a lack of being able to read offensive situations or a simple lack of confidence I don’t know.

If we are to approach games defensively we at least have to have someone from midfield who is prepared to make those forward runs, ie scholes, lampard etc etc

Adlene has that ability but doesn’t get a decent run in the team. Forget defensive frailty, WE CANNOT SCORE GOALS!! SIMPLE

If we constantly miss chances and opportunities this encourages the opposition and ultimately they create similar chances but put them away.

Gamble Wolves, attack more, we are better than at least 8 of these teams in the Premier league I just think the problem lies in our owm self belief. We are by no means perfect, but we are better thanm this.

Good luck on Saturday and please, please everybody get behind the team for that 90 mins!

We have no problem in getting behind you, but give us a little something to work with, even if we were not good enough sunday to beat that lot the very least we expect is passion, guts & fight!!! but there wasnt any of that either!!
I agree we all need to pull together but dont go shouting your mouth at us, you do your job and we will more than do ours!!

That said i dont fault majority of players, they should be taken out of side for there own sake nevermind the teams! Stearman is big danger of becoming the next ward (fans scapegoat) he needs to be removed, so to the ineffective henry, id throw doyle in there but we have next to no options in that position!

Reading Milijas’s comments about him willing to be flexible, the gaffa asked me to play behind the striker!!! ????? wat???? on what planet is Nenad a supporting striker? this bloke MM is a complete clown, if there was ever a position for Ohara it would be there and not Milijas!

MM played 122 prem games won 25!!

Done a fab job, and were grateful, v v very grateful! but ease just hang up your hat your way out your depth!
The only other solution i can see is to get rid of the useless TC and replace with an assistant that has some tactical knowhow etc but can you see MM having someone next to him with more brains than him?
