Wolves fearing James McFadden snub
Saturday 8th October 2011, 11:30AM BST.
James McFadden is set to decide his future this weekend – but Wolves are not holding out much hope of landing his signature.
The 28-year-old Scotland international left Wolves on Monday after spending two weeks training with the club to pursue other offers.
Sunderland, Everton and Celtic have all been linked with the former Birmingham forward and Wolves aren’t overly optimistic.
Chief executive Jez Moxey said: “We are due to know very quickly.
“I’m expecting an answer over the weekend. But there is no rush as I don’t think he will be fully fit until the end of October.”
Boss Mick McCarthy wanted to boost his forward line with another option with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake still out with medial ligament damage, although the double Championship golden boot winner is on his way back to full fitness.
