Michael Kightly eyes loan from Wolves
Wednesday 5th October 2011, 11:00AM BST.
Wolves winger Michael Kightly today insisted a loan stint will bring him up to Premier League sharpness and his best form.
Kightly completed another 90 minutes in last night’s 1-0 reserves defeat to Albion at Telford, after the collapse of a loan move to Nottingham Forest that sparked Steve McClaren’s resignation.
And the 25-year-old is desperate to play first-team football, after admitting he would have loved the chance at Forest.
He said: “In my head I think I can be back to full tilt but, realistically, I can’t. I need six or seven games on the bounce to get that sharpness back because there’s a difference between being fit and match-fit.
“Forest is a massive club and I’d have liked to have played some games for them. But it didn’t work out and, hopefully, I can go somewhere else to play some games.”
