James McFadden leaves Wolves

James McFadden has left Wolves as he considers other offers following a successful trial.

The Scotland international has a contract offer on the table from Wolves but is no longer training with them as he assesses his options before making a final call.

McFadden has been training at Compton for the last two weeks after being released by Birmingham in the summer following a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Sunderland are reportedly interested, with former Blues boss Steve Bruce desperate to boost his options after a disastrous start to the season.

And Wolves boss Mick McCarthy said: “We made him an offer but I understand he’s got a few others.”
