Wolves boss’ warning for Newcastle
Friday 30th September 2011, 2:30PM BST.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy today warned Newcastle they could soon come a cropper.
The high-flying Magpies arrive at Molineux tomorrow still unbeaten and fourth in the table having conceded just five goals – the lowest in the Premier League.
But McCarthy, whose side won two and drew the other of their opening three fixtures before losing three, knows how quickly it can change.
He said: “Newcastle will be coming here with confidence, but, like me, Alan Pardew will have one eye on the fact there are a lot of games coming along.
“If people start talking you up, you can suffer one defeat then another one, and it can all change around again.
“When we had our good start, I didn’t get carried away because I can almost see what’s around the corner if you’re not careful.”
