Wolves boss will look at free agents
Wednesday 7th September 2011, 2:01PM BST.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has vowed to continue to look at free agents after declaring an interest in James McFadden.
The versatile former Birmingham striker must prove his fitness after cruciate ligament damage kept him out from August onwards last season.
The Scotland international joins 600 other footballers – including former Wolves goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann, who has been training with his old team-mates – who are still without clubs.
McCarthy has one more spare place in his squad after naming 24 players this season and believes other options might also attract Wolves.
He said: “There will be out-of-contract players going to different clubs. One might pop up that’s suitable and if they do, of course we’ll consider it.
“El-Hadji Diouf is out of contract and Steed Malbranque has paid his up at St Etienne.”
