Wolves could make late loan signing
Tuesday 30th August 2011, 11:45AM BST.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey has left the door open for one more signing before the transfer window shuts – but only on loan.
Clubs are now into the last two days of business with Wolves content to keep a watching brief after a summer in which the club has cut 16 players, through sales or loans, and added three.
Speculation that out-of-favour Serbia international Nenad Milijas could become departure 17 came to nothing yesterday, following an approach by one club offering a player exchange.
But with Wolves boss Mick McCarthy cool on the player being offered to him, Milijas remains at Wolves – although likely to be the subject of further approaches before 11pm tomorrow night, the official deadline for business.
Moxey said today: “We’re keeping a watching brief – there might be a loan signing. If we find the right player then we will do everything we can to help Mick sign him.
“We have allowed a lot of players to go, mostly on loan. But that’s what we wanted to do because we were carrying a lot of players who didn’t play for us last season.
“So we’re comfortable with where we are.”
McCarthy began the close season looking for recruits for both midfield and left-back but has, so far, decided instead to keep faith with his current personnel.

Have just seen on rumours Scott Dann to Blackburn for £5M. Surely he has to be the ideal partner for RJ to secure us mid-table position
Report abuse
Never mind a loan, if Scott Dann is going to Blackburn for 5 mill as stated in todays transfer rumours, Can we sign him instead Please.
Would have a quality defence with a bit of depth then as well.
We have enough to make 17th place already so don’t need any more players.
Please please please, improve our squad, we have a great 1st team but after that we are a bit lacking and to be fair a bit more quality in the first team wouldnt go a miss so please MMM please get at least one more ( quality ) player in so we dont do the same as last season
Report abuse
hi there jez,
Scot tells me he misses roger and wants to hook up with him again . . . . can you get ur finger out and make an approach. . . this is our chance to be a really really solid mid table team that wont be dislodged!!
look at the difefernce roger made. just imagine 2 of him (but better) in the heart of defence!!!
do it for the fans!!!!!

17th place is not where we want to be at the end of season we must be looking to finish higher and improve each season.17th is just looking to survive.scott dann would be great but dont think it will happen
Report abuse
perhaps we are still going to get a left back and hope zubar is fit soon. The tactic on saturday of playing four full backs was justifiable. A far simpler solution, however, would be to get two competent fullbacks, or is that too obvious an option for mm?
Why let milijas go????????
Scott dann, £5 mil…………….. theres the right player at the right price Jez!!!!
You can see an immediate improvement in our defence since Johnson arrived, why risk this excellent start by not signing another quality centre back? If Johnson gets injured then we are back to the same defence that leaked so many (particularly late)goals last season. If Dann is available for a reasonable fee then surely it would be in our best interests to sign him. Blackburn are in for him, but surely he would prefer us (as he lives in the area and won’t have to move house etc))to Blackburn, plus we are certainly a better team(unlike Blackburn)then last year. Never mind a loan signing MM, GET DANN NOW!
i think it would be a mistake to let Milijas leave, if o’hara gets injured (and his injury record is not great) who comes in to replace him? and please dont say edwards as he is no where near the player that o’hara or Milijas are. same with johnson as he has been immense so far ditto doyle and fletcher, i think the 1st team is pretty much settled (although would prefer foley @rb rather than stearman) but its a long season and i really think if we get a couple of injuries which lets face it we will at some point we could struggle.
up the wolves

Finally, after not being able to make a post for the last two or three days. McCarthy said yesterday that Johnson for 4.5 million was a brilliant defender. With relegation canditates QPR and chicken farmers Blackburn trying to get Scott Dann for 5 million it surely makes sense a that a top ten team like Wolves can offer him better prospects. What a defensive partnership of old mates who have gelled together for the last two years Johnson and Dann. After the next match against Spurs we would have McCarthy saying that he has the best central defenders in the Premier League. I am either stupid or don’t understand football after following Wolves for 45 years. It would only take a five minute conversation of Moxley, Johnson, Dann and McCarthy to do a deal, DO IT NOW. I’m not even going to discuss the potential of a couple of loan deals till this one is done and dusted. Up The Wolves and a few more brains for our 3M’s.
If Scott Dann is only going for £5m please please please. We have offloaded 16 players. If we finished 4 or 5 places further up the table it would pay most of the fee. Live a little Mr Morgan we need more quality. There is a difference between reckless debt and showing ambition surely. If Milijas goes and Henry and O’Hara play like they did on Saturday we are going to be scrapping for results don’t you think. Do we actually have 25 senior players to make up the squad at the moment?
Agree with No 7,
I just hope we do not get any injuries, eg Man U & Arsenal, as we are an injury or 2 from having a very mediocre team !
Our forward line options are already creaking !
I’m not normally an unrealistic fan that wants us to spend £100m every summer on 15 new players, in fact I quite like our prudent approach and think that what you lose in strength in depth you gain in team spirit. However, when Scott Dann is available for £5m surely we’ve got to be highly interested. Even from a business point of view, his value surely wouldn’t go down from £5m over the next couple of seasons. What’s more, we’d be in a pretty strong position to get him with RJ here already and no need for him to move to the other end of the country. It’s not like it’s Arsenal or Liverpool in for him as it looked like before, it’s Blackburn. Come on Moxey, you know it makes sense!
NO8 because he is never going to start. far too good a player to sit on the bench watching the water carriers “put a shift in”.
quality player who needs to get out for his own good – really does make you wonder why mm bought him!
How about Macheda from Man Utd and Ounourah from Man City?
No. 8 – As Milijas does not figure in Mick’s plans it makes sense to loan him out and bring someone in who will figure, hopefully a left back!
As for Dann, seems a decent punt if available at £5M and would certainly shore up the defence with Johnson.
We want Scott Dann NOW
Report abuse
manchesterwolf – Our problem on saturday had nothing to do with the quality of our defence. If you had either watched it or understood the way football is played you would realise that our defence dealt with almost every Villa attack, the problem was midfield where we were losing the ball almost every occasion. The simple reason was because Villa did a fantastic job of closing us down every occasion leaving not enough space to keep the ball. In actual fact, what Mick did was not finnish the game with 6 players in defence but finnish with a 451 formation, which allowed us more space in midfield and allowed us to keep the ball more.
We want Scott Dann TODAY
Report abuse
I may be a numpty Mick but it is blatantly obvious we still need another quality central defender and a left back. Just cannot believe we cannot get Scott Dann. We show a lack of genuine ambition.
Still think we need 1 more forward!!!
…………..UP THE WOLVES…………….
3m + Stearman for scott Dann :)
Having been sold(or bought)so many crocks in the past, perhaps the Wolves are wary of signing any more! Dann would be a good addition to the squad without doubt, but does anyone know whether he is fit? Like so many others, if we buy or loan, I would prefer a left back. Again, Foley has to come in for Stearman who should be kept to cover for Berra’s inevitable suspensions for holding.
Our Squad is very thin on quality behind what is clearly a good enough 1st 11 to survive.
Its easy to be seduced by an excellent start, after 3 games played in warm weathe,r on perfect playing surfaces.
We will need more come November time
Report abuse
Cant believe so many people want Dann after he turned down our club in favour of a pay check at Birmingham. Hes a quality player, but he had his chance. I honestly hope he goes to QPR or Blackburn, and then gets relegated with his new club.
Dann would be a dream, but Berra looks a lot berra (sorry) alongside Johnson at the moment. My worry is up front now that SEB is injured – given the injury record of Doyle & Fletch we could really struggle for goals if we get one more injury. I say go get Nicky Maynard from Bristol City.
How about that Jake Livermore from spurs?
NO20. was there – played pro football for 16 years – think i understand a little more than you. 4-5-1 is either defensive or attacking, it depends how you set up. in this case it was the former, also known as doubling up on the fullbacks.
Stearman, Ward, Elokobi and Foley are all at least one division too high and probably two.
If you can’t see that my friend, then it is you who observes but does not see.
Dear Mick,
I’ve got the Blues and want to join a top ten team. I’m happy where I live and don’t want to move either north or south. I’ve got a great mate who I’d love to play in partnership with again in the Premier League. I promise to do my best every match if only you give me the chance. Johnson has got my number, just give me a call. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.
Yours Sincerely
Scott Dann
Report abuse
I am really worried about the amount of strikers that we have in the squad. We are always getting injuries in this department, yet we are going into the season with only 3 fit strikers. Vokes would of been sold in the summer if anyone came in with a bid. So we know Mick does not rate him so much anymore.
Yes we might revert to 1 up forwards at times, but do we want to be forced to play that way, due to a lack of players. Also with a lack of Goalscoring subsitutes on the bench, how can you change a game, if there is no one to come on of any quality.
Please Mick get a striker, we have one space left in the squad, and we will need one considering our injury history with strikers.
You beat me to it 20 wolfhedd. The defence including Ward and Stearman were outstanding at Villa.
It wasn’t just the midfield but the front 2 as well who couldn’t keep the ball, and the pressure was constantly on the defence.
Mick brought on 2 full backs to win and keep the ball in midfield, and take the sting out of the game. It was nothing to do with the quality of the full backs 7 manchesterwolf
Report abuse
No 20 Yes the midfield was poor on saturday but our defence the full backs definitely showed they lacked pace against Abonghalor, N’Zogbia and Bent.We need at least 2 more quality players in defence and a midfield anchor man. With the prices now dropping we must surely step in and pick players like Dann/Ridgewell for nowt.Mid table or higher is surely our goal not 17th.Please do not do a Wenger and miss the boat.
27-Wolfhedd. I think you need a brain transplant or are either a WBA fan. Scott Dann would be a brilliant buy for Wolves as the end of the season would show.
So, our defence has allowed one goal in four matches, and we need more defenders. Two of the four that kept clean sheets against Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool away, and others cannot get in the team, but we want yet more defenders. Please tell me the name of any available left-back that is playing better right now than Stephen Ward who would not cost an arm and a leg? Also, tell me why, if Scott Dann is so wonderful why Liverpool and Arsenal have not made a bid yet? Why did he not sign for Stoke after Birmingham agreed a fee? Roger Johnson improved Dann, and not the other way round. Dann is just a decent player with mercenary tendencies. Steer well clear in my opinion.
30 manchesterwolf Stearman, Ward, Elokobi and Foley are 4 players who helped us win the Championship, and go on to 3 consecutive seasons in the premier league.
They are premier league players!!!!!
I don’t understand the enthusiasm for Dann. That would mean we would have the 2 central defenders that took Birmingham down! I think that the priority is a creative midfielder.
manchesterwolf – Im basing your knowledge of football on your earlier comment, which was not only ridiculous but also shows your lack of understanding of the game. Escuse me for not buying the played pro football for 16 years comment, as if you had, you would realise that the subs made didnt change the team defensively, they simply allowed us to keep the ball in midfield, which is something we wasnt doing before hand.
You suggest that when we changed to 451 it was a defensive formation, which shows your complete idiocracy in regards to the beautiful game. Once the subs were made, we barely spent anytime in our own half, we without doubt finnihed the game the more attacking team, and possibly could have knicked the 3 points at the end. Are you sure you were watching the Villa vs Wolves match?
One of my favourites, Jody, (as back up) can’t go on for ever. Therefore, why not let bygones be bygones and consider Dann? We have to look to the future and make our defence rock solid for seasons to come.
30 – Manchester Wolf…
Come on then! We’re listening….! We ALL want to know who you played Pro Football for!
Quote:
“Stearman, Ward, Elokobi and Foley are all at least one division too high and probably two.”
Unquote.
So, when Foley was player of the season in the Championship he should have been playing in Div 1? And Ward should be in Div1? I think you’re blue & white in disguise….
When Mick bought Elokobi and Foley on against Villa we were getting hammered – and it gained us a point.
Milijas is a potential match winner. He is one of few players in the Wolves line-up with true star quality as well as industry. Madness to let him go

we need some big 6′ 13″ forward to try get on the balls which keep being launched from everbody when we are in trouble as was the case at Villa

I understand Dann at 5mil is well worth a punt but could he have already burnt his bridges from the last time he visited Molineux.
Supposedley had a better offer from Blues whilst having a medical. IF thats his attitude.
He wouldnt fit with our squad and ethic.

We had a lot of playuers breaking down last season ….can we sign an AA man please
Report abuse
We have lulled ourselves into a false sense of security with our league position, although we have made a great start we should not forget we will probaly be battling it out with probaly 8 clubs to avoid relegation. We need strength and depth to our squad and I think most fans would agree that at £5mill Dann is a bargain and this would give us the backup if Johnson or Berra gets injured. We have spent less than £7mill pounds nett whn you take into consideration money back from Halford and others so it would hardly break the bank.
After a great start to the season, I certainly do not want to moan about how the club is being run? It’s early days but with the squad we have and improvements to the ground and training facilities, this could be our best season since John Barnwell was here. However, if we managed to get Johnson for £4.5m and O’Hara for £3.5m, surely we should have had some more money put aside? Steve Morgan clearly said that we were not going to spend the same as last season but if these figures are correct, we have only spent half that amount! Scott Dann is not going to happen but with SEB injured and no obvious cover for Henry, a couple of players are needed and there are the spaces.
In terms of the current team, the defence has been superb. Ward is a totally different player and that is down to Johnson and having international call ups. The midfield had an off day at Villa. Finally, there is no way that we should be contemplating selling Milijas, as he is the only like-for-like in the squad for O’Hara!
I think the overwhelming majority of fans would like Scott Dann to sign for the club myself also.
We finished 17th last season and we have only added 1 player(Johnson)to our squad, when will we all wake up from our good start daydream and smell the roses. Why can’t we buy any more players, are we like Everton moneyless or is the owner restricting funds because of the ground rebuild. We need to strengthen the squad if we hope for a long Premeir League stay, invest now for the future, January will be too late.
Firstly, result on Saturday was excellent (even if we did win that fixture last season!). For me – and I don’t get to see Wolves often – watching the game I was very impressed with the team and also with the managerial tactics. Well done as it certainly shows overall improvement and of course a better defence.
With the team now, although our strength and depth is getting there….it ain’t there so to say we may get one more loan signing is a little short.
Seeing talk on Blackburn agreeing a £5m deal for Scott Dann seems its a must we go in for him as it just makes total sense for Wolves (and him!). I would also like to see us go for a striker on-loan as this is an area of concern already with the SEB injury. And FINALLY Milijas – don’t let him go as he is such a classy footballer….just play him a bit more.
Shame we have a 2-week break now coz it might have a negative impact on our good form. It happened last season at exactly this stage.
WE ARE WOLVES!!!

got a funny feeling iff we were only going to get one loan deal and iff its a left back were going for it might be wayne bridge its gone quiet on him like to buy dann or bassong but i bet we end up getting no one a big fat zero lol

I have faith in the management at wolves, they’re doing a great job. They really are taking the club out of the darkness and into the light.
I await the day when we have a 50,000 stadium playing in Europe.
When the spark is ignited the light burns bright.
Come on wolves.

I’m somewhat puzzled why suddenly Birmingham have dropped the price of Scott Dann and also at the same time, why the bigger clubs have cooled their interest.
At the moment Berra seems to be playing far better alongside Johnson. However, if one or both were missing through injury or suspension then we could have a problem.
Dann would on the face of it be an ideal signing as he clearly had a good understanding with Johnson at Brum.
Perhaps there’s a fitness problem or maybe an excessive wage demmand. If neither is the case I would love to see him at the Molineux.
No 27, Footballs a mercinary business, most players sight ambition to win things as a reason for wanting a move, the reality is that only a handful of clubs have the potential and are going to win things, these clubs as we all know, are the big spenders of the premiership and offer equally big wages(which is more like the real reason these footballers want to move clubs). So you can hardly blame a player if a big club doesn’t come in for him, for wanting to go to the club who offer him the most money. If you had a job locally and the same job was available down the road for more money I bet you’d be off down there like a shot given the opportunity.

It’s the surrounding areas of the Black country that make wolves a big club. Dudley one have the biggest towns in the country are probably 50% wolves fans along with Cannock, Stafford, Telford. The potential of the club is huge with 50,000 week in week out easily.
The marketing and everything else that comes with it will be a windfall.
Wolves have a great history with skynews comparing the situation with Wenger at Arsenal to what happened to Stan Cullis at wolves . Weddeburn said that’s a great comparison.
It’s a work in progress, exciting times.

If Dann is so marvelous as the majority think why has he not moved on? After all blues are riding high in the league….not
No 30 you are sbout as clued up on football as the average house wife who knows nothing about the game. maybe Ward has been lacking, yet from what ive seen this season he has upped his game. he has the passion and drive and new found confidence in his ability that we require in a Wolves shirt.
My last point, if there is no money there aint no money, end of. it doesnt matter what we want if there is nothing in the jar you cannot buy.I expect the loan signing to be a powerful centre midfield player if available.

Mick probably doesn’t know a thing about accounting and the current economic state and how do deal with it in relation of running a football club. As Moxey doesn’t know about coaching a football team.
This is the meaning of ‘a management team’ let them do their own individual jobs and just show faith. They’re all experts in the their jobs which is why they’ve been recruited for their roles.

I think we have respect as a club in the premiership now again. Alot of our players are becoming household names.

The biggest downside risk to our season will be injuries as the depth is not there to sustain a mid table finishing position. Plus if our starting eleven turn in several performances like the one against Villa we will find ourselves trying to stay out of the bottom three again!!!
We definitely lack at least one more more creative midfielder, a striker with a proven record and a true left back.
I have nothing against Ward at all – in fact, he has played well to this point. however, he looks to be more effective playing left mid or forward.

I do appreciate the need for discretion in the matter of acquiring players, and also the use of a smokescreen or two to assist the cause, but with the memory of last season still lingering and the suggestion early on in the transfer window that there would be strengthening of the side that had just stayed up, the overall effort in the transfer market thus far has been disappointing.
In typing this I know I’m venting a bit of nervous energy but I sense many others are too, so remaining mindful of the need for discretion I think a bit more openness would have been kinder to the nerves of interested fans.
If we do now have all we are going to get, then the three M’s have opted for a high risk strategy, and that isn’t what I’d expect of them. Prudence – yes, but essential maintenance/modernisation are also – yes.
So, I still look to a last minute capture of a quality defender, and will only believe there isn’t to be one when the deadline has passed.
(As I finished typing my post shadowy memories of George, all 5’8″ of him, haring back from the halfway line to take a central defensive position whilst Berra (was it? I couldn’t look too closely) moved across to attempt to cover the half-acre gap George had gifted to Villa, are still haunting me!)

Hard to understand all this talk about needing a centre back and left back when we’ve conceded only one goal in four games.
This is undermining the players in those positions especially Ward who gets a lot of stick.
Remember Ward was bought as a forward, Mick moved him to left back and he has had to learn on the job.
To me he has come on in leaps & bounds this year and is now also left back in the Republic of Ireland team who are not conceding many either.

Beyond belief that with 24 hours to go these Numpties are taking about a possible loan deal and the impending departure of a quality midfield player.
Why are they now spouting off, using a old photo to illustrate the lack of positive dealing ? Answer to cover their backsides. They have been gambling all along that they can survive again without further investment.
Hope I am wrong and that the tactics are Red Herrings to confuse the competition. We will all know on Thursday morning. Unfortunately whenever I read Moxey mouthing off, I am reminded of the wonderful portrayal of the American Flim Flam man in the film “Paper Moon”

Wolves a re a big club not just in the midlands. Due to the success of the 50′s we have an older generation and 2nd generation(me) in the south of England. In my small town in Hertforshire there are dozens of Wolves fans.
Go to Wolves on a saturday to the pubs and you will meet loads of Wolves fans from all over the south of England, especially Oxfordshire/Worcs/Hereford/Northants etc.
Aside from the big LOndon clubs and the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Everton, Villa there are more Wolves fans in most towns than the likes of Newcastle, Sunderland, Man City etc.

Think we might be in for Bedtnar as we look short of bodys up front an injury to one of the first choose and we would be really light, also think we need another central midfielder someone to help Ohara out maybe Spearing who is yet to kick a ball for Liverpool this season both would be loans. Would love to see Scott Dann in the old gold but I think the cheque book has been shut unfortuntly.

Once again Morgan is playing a very very risky game.Over 10 players out and only 2 in(ignoring O Hara)doesnt make sense to me.How are we going to cope if the likes of Johnson ,Fletcher and O’Hara get injured.?

All of our players have the ability to improve and become premiership players. The underlining fact is some have achieved this sooner than others. Can we afford to wait for the others to become premiership quality?
I think Stearrman will mould into a right back and get lots of games thus gain valuable premiership experience reading the game. If there are injuries he can switch posisitons which benifits the team. If Jarvis or Hunt get injured or put in below par performances I thinks it’s the kightly show and nobody will take his place after that, he’s just waiting in the wings.
Henry really wants to prove himself this season and has been putting in the shift and it’s been noticed. Johnson is just a revaltion along with Ward.
Moreover the pundits are rating Wolves. Alot of hard work has been put in to make this happen by all staff at Wolves. Onwards and upwards, no coffee break keep it going lads.

If we carry on playing the big “hoof” upfield when under pressure, why not consider Peter Crouch? Not many defenders can deal with him & he’s also good with his feet. We definately need extra cover up front. Milijas is far too good a player to be warming the bench, I can’t understand why he doesn’t get a run in the team, maybe if he changed his name by deed-poll to Ward, he’d be first on the team sheet!!
Come on me babbies, keep up the good start.

Scott Dann is a must for Wolves. With his best made already in our squad, and the location in the right place for Dann in the West Midlands gives us that edge over our rivals in negotiating a deal. Come on 3Ms. £5m is a snip. Lets snap him up. The fans will love you forever then. Even Jez!! lol

I think Scott Dann would choose QPR over us, simply because they will offer stupid wages, he has done it before so why wouldn’t he do it again? Great player but a mercenary player

Just heard that Scott Dann and spurs are just finalising the contract details after a medical at WHL today… We should definitely be in for Bassong on loan at the very least

Please sign left back and centre back to ensure the top ten place in the premierleague

Why not Hargreaves, pay as you play?
Bushwolf, are you serious? You think Bedtner would be interested in Bench warming for us? Don’t you know Spearing already turned down a loan move to the Mol? Unfortuntly the check book is close? I think not, it’s funding a new stand.

Bit of a damp squib if that’s how our activity in the transfer window should come to a close – a loan signing, possibly, maybe.
Given the difficulty of last season, going all the way through to the evening of 22 May, transfer activity – O’Hara and Johnson excepted – seems a touch blase, certainly at odds with the near-death experience (in Prem football terms, anyway)of season 2010/11.
Tricky, but I hope the strategy works.

You know the clubs getting popular when the shirt is being sold up and down the country in out of town sport shops of only a sective few premiership teams.

Even Bedtner is a good player I’m not sure would he be a right person for Wolves..?

Too many people get excited at the transfer window deadline.
If the players aren’t there don’t buy them it’s not like you can sell them on ebay if doesn’t work out.

I think Papa Bouba Diop would be a good signing. He’s available for transfer.
Hansen once said one of the most solid underrated midfielders around.

scott dann hasnt got the right attitude to play for us, remember he jumped ship after having a medical for a reported £6,000 p/w offer from a smaller club like brum i dont want him

Danny Sturridge……….wanted to stay at Chelsea, they have since signed lakuku….he has gotta b gutted by that!
Deano’s nephew so he will have a soft spot for us! So get him on loan! Doyle can go on his mazy runs around midfield and Sturridge and fletcher can stand in the middle and put his crosses away! Let’s face it Doyle doesn’t like standing upfront alone!
Crouchy loan??? Adebayor coming in to take his place!
Defence…Danns, pos ridgewell (not sure)
Midfield….Livermore (spurs) not sure who else!
Job done!

94 comments before Lincoln wolf states what is really going on.The transfer budget has been cut back to part fund the phase 2 ground redevelopment. This will go on for a number of years, maybe 5 or 6.It is obvious isn’t it? As others have said a high risk strategy. No benevolent benefactor is going to pay for the new ground,so it must come from the Sky money. The real concern for me is we will end up with the best ground in the Championship.

The team is fine Mr Moxey but you better hope and pray your one new signing this season doesn’t get injured………

Scott Dann to Blackburn? Come on Mick, let’s make one last push for him, he could solidify the back line with RJ for years to come and make us a top 10 team!

scott dann 5 million sort it out mick, we also need a striker to push doyle and fletcher.
and please no marcus bent, we need a goalscorer!

However much the fans want him we’re not going to get Scott Dann. Not in this time frame anyway.
Defense played very well against Aston Vanilla, even though, at times, it was desparate. Mid-field, we need someone who is intelligent and FORWARD thinking.
But, someone wrote previously that the whole squad is thin and that’s correct. We will be in a lot of trouble if O’Hara and Johnson get injured. Who replaces them? Milijas? Lovely guy, very hard working but hasn’t got the ‘eye’ to make things happen. Craddock? Too old now, good for probably one half only.
Can’t wait to see who comes in on loan.

On my wish list would be
Scott Dann – Buy
Joe Cole – Loan
Come on wolves lets have a go ffs

calm before the storm or are we done in the transfer market?
it would be great to get scott dan, seriously, if we did i think wolves future would be very safe and very good.
i hope blackburn dont get him, we are a better team!
If thats it and there are no more signings, then its still been a good summer of transfers. i am happy with johnson and o’hara; both made a massive impact. i am worried for injuries, even lineker said on MOTD that wolves will do well (mid table) if we can keep players injury free. i am a little worried (rightly so after last season) if they do get injured.. . . . .
do the right thing 3M’s and buy SD!!! Its the right time for him to come now, otherwise he will be locked into a new contract at a new club who prob wont want to sell him.

Im, happy with the 1st 11 we got but like everyone else Im worried about strength in depth. Question is tho, how do you keep a quality 3rd/4th choice striker happy? If we signed someone like bellamy for example would he be happy on the bench? Prob not. but then if he played, would doyle be happy on the bench? also not. This is my one critisism of MM. I dont think he knows how to manage a very strong squad. We’ll see what happens but if we dont sign anyone all we can do is back the 11 who do play. NO MATTER WHAT! Im still confident of a comfortable finish this season.

not having a go at anybody just working out the maths 17 out 3 in just not adding up,we do definately need more ins or it could be a long hard winter 1 or 2 injuries (god for bid)and we could be in trouble.

Paul – to be fair, the 17 out have mostly been either kids or useless. We wont miss any of them bar possibly maiherhoffer and hanneman, whos been replaced. Personally, I wouldnt put to much focus on the 17 that have left. That aside, we still need more reinforcements.
