Leigh Griffiths could join Scottish club
Tuesday 23rd August 2011, 9:09AM BST.
Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths could be allowed to return to Scotland on loan after all with Aberdeen and Hibernian both linked to a move.
The 21-year-old, who travelled with the squad for tonight’s Carling Cup second round tie at Northampton, has yet to make a competitive appearance for the club since signing for £150,000 from Dundee in January.
Manager Mick McCarthy is keen for Griffiths to go out on loan to an English club, but no offer has been forthcoming.
With that in mind, McCarthy admits a move to the Scottish Premier League, where Aberdeen and Hibernian both play, could be another option.
He said: “A few clubs in Scotland have shown interest. I want him to play football and my preference is for him to do that in England.
“But, if it’s in Scotland then, fine and I have told them that.”

Latest Blog — Same again for West Brom
What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
