Time to map out a plan for Villa's future
- Says blogger Matthew Turvey
Wolves 2 Fulham 0
Sunday 21st August 2011, 4:00PM BST.
Wolves went top of the Premier League for at least two hours after continuing their 100 per cent start to the season with a highly-deserved win over Fulham.
Goals from Kevin Doyle and Matt Jarvis in the space of four minutes at the end of the first half gave Mick McCarthy’s men the edge at a vibrant Molineux in a fitting tribute to Frank Munro, who died earlier this week.
McCarthy’s side built on their winning start at Blackburn with another thoroughly convincing performance which suggests, even at this early stage, that the survival struggles of the last two years are set to be replaced by a much more comfortable ride this season.
There hasn’t been a bad performance from anyone in the two games so far this season, as Wolves saw out another match in total control.
Watched by Molineux’s lowest Premier League gate because of the redevelopment of the Stan Cullis Stand – nevertheless a home sell out in a crowd of 22,657 – Jarvis tapped home in the first minute of time added on, after captain Roger Johnson beat goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer to Stephen Hunt’s cross to head against the post.
Doyle scored with a left-foot shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle, after dribbling away from Pajtim Kasami from Jarvis’ cross from just inside the six-yard box.
Wolves, watched by Albion boss Roy Hodgson and coach and ex-Wolf Keith Downing, were good value for their lead too.
They almost went ahead with a 30-yard swerving drive from Jamie O’Hara, only for goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer to tip wide at the end of a dominant spell.
But their best chance came before that when they really should have taken the lead.
Doyle fired over an open goal after chasing down Christophe Berra’s long ball and rounding Philippe Senderos along with Schwarzer, when the striker deserved to do better.
Berra, in fact, was having a storming game against opponents he was sent off against last season.
Wolves had enjoyed a bright start, but it could have been different had the unmarked Damien Duff not fired straight at Wayne Hennessey from eight yards out, from Andy Johnson’s cross in the first chance of the game on 11 minutes.
After the break, Wolves, with O’Hara pulling the strings and Karl Henry winning everything in midfield, continued to dominate against a tiring Fulham side.
Jarvis was wide with a swerving effort after Steven Fletcher couldn’t quite get to Stephen Hunt’s cross, then Hunt’s fiercely-hit first-time rising shot was tipped over the bar.
Fletcher then saw an angled shot deflected into the side-netting, before O’Hara’s right-foot volley sailed inches over.
A real daisycutter from Fletcher went the same way, as Wolves completely overwhelmed the Cottagers.
The ever-busy Hunt saw another drive tipped wide, before Fulham bared their teeth in a late rally.
Hennessey made a superb, point-blank save to deny Andy Johnson’s angled shot before Stephen Ward did brilliantly to deny Clint Dempsey from the follow-up, clearing his lines when the American was presented with an open goal.
But it proved to be an isolated scare, as Wolves went on to control things to earn their second successive win.

Brilliant result. As I’m writing this we are top of the premier league!!! Are we glad we kept MM as manager? Of course we are!!! As I always said last season; in Mick we trust!

Magnificent! Frank, you must have heard that Molineux roar! You can be proud of the troops, as they were of you. What a performance from Super Mick’s charges! Now, we are “Top of the League!” UTMW!

We are top of the league, say we are top of the league. Keep it going lads, Villa next!

an example of taking chances and work rate to collect the ball. A clean sheet does a lot for confidence. watched on the internet a good solid team performance much more confidence evident compared with last year. Perhaps the wingers will Shut UP and support the team NOW

A superb display to dedicate to Frank Munro.
It was a pleasure to watch the team play so much good football, the signings of O Hara, Johnson, and Hunt who is now fully fit have made such a difference full marks to McCarthy.
Johnson has made an outstanding difference to the defence, and with O Hara playing so well we are now moving out of defence through midfield and to the strikers, such a change to see us having on target shots at goal.
Henry had his best game for a very long time and it was good to see him being effective, Berra also looked much more assured alongside Johnson.
When we were under threat the team got behind the ball and looked so much more composed.
My preference would still be Foley at RB instead of Stearman.
Full marks to the team & McCarthy for an outstanding display.

A totally deserved result for a well drilled, organized Wolves. Doyle had a fine game and Fletcher, Jarvis and Hunt all had really good games. The midfield was efficient in it’s use of the ball and the defense was solid.
Wards fantastic block to deny Dempsey was outstanding and perhaps the whiners should take note.
Confidence is everything and to have six points in the bag after two games is a great start. We will have our off days but if we can secure mid table status this year it will be a great achievement. Hopefully, Kightly will get some more minutes soon to improve our depth.Still think it would be a great move for management to bring in a couple of established Premiership level players.
Come on you Wolves!!!

Just great lads. Keep yer feet on the ground and keep it up. Not bad for a dirty team who don’t play football is it? We’re building sensibly the right way, living within our means. We don’t change managers every 5 minutes either. The sun is shining at the moment and what a stadium we’ll have soon.

Well done, Wolves. Wish I’d been there. I think we have every reason to feel confident this season. UTW.

Yes you have won 2 out of 2 well done but look at the oppisition, enjoy it now cause what matters is after 38 games, and i can asuure you that you wont be finishing in the top half.

Great performance today, probably should have gone ahead sooner but we always looked like we were going to score eventually. Doyle led up front brilliantly again, Jarvis always looked a threat and Henry was solid in midfield winning balls and keeping possession. Villa next, if we keep to the same level of performance we can get something from that game as well. UTW.

Another solid performance. Who needs a left back when you have Stephen Ward. Saved us from conceding at the end. Man of the match was Hunt – again. Loving it!
Wolves continued from where they left off last week. Good allround performances. Everybody chasing, harrising in a non stop display that prevented Fulham from getting any real foothold in the game.
Great last ditch tackle by Ward which stopped a certain goal. Also Henry had one of his best performances for a long time.

Superb performance – ratings; Henn 7 Stears 6 Wardy 8 Johnson 7 Berra 8 Jarvo 8 Hunt 9 O Hara 9 Henry 8 fletcher 7 Doyle 7.

No one, not the moaners nor the baggies can deny we look a decent side. Very pleased with us going forward but would still like to see a top midfield enforcer and either a cb or lb. However Ward is squirting himself admirably but I do worry that the likes of him Stears and Berra could go right off the boil at some point. We do need to be putting as many points on the board early doors as our festive period is pretty daunting. I think we have a good chance to get something at the Vile but we must not be naive or we might just get a nasty shock. The team spirit looks great and the lads look ready to battle for eachother all over the park which is brilliant. Johnson, O’Hara and Jarvis must be in England reckoning if the keep performances up
Report abuse
Wonderful display from the lads, great send off for Frank.
Martin Jol will get some stick for leaving out Bobby Zamora who would have been better than the toothless Dempsey. BUT, saying that, Fulhams forwards weren’t allowed to play their game. Wolves defense were superb. Christoph Berra? I haven’t seen him play a better game. Committment, aggression and some skill! Gad! It’s difficult not to get excited! Roger Johnsons influence is showing already on the rest of the defense.
Top of the league (ok, only for 26 minutes) but ain’t it GREAT!!!!!!

Great win today lads… and a great touch from the south bank to give Ward a song…. He has deserved that on this seasons performances so far.

Another great win and three more valuable BPL points on board, and a fitting tribute to the late great Frankie Munro. Again it was a solid team performance, with all the team putting in a ‘shift but also a lot of skill and flair’ to go with it.Again like last week very hard to single out any individual player for m.o.t.m. award. But ive been very critical of Steven Ward at LB, and still need convincing, that he’s the answer to our LB problem, but fair play to him,on Beacon radio he seemed to make two goal bound tackles, which could have made it a very different game, and he was mentioned a lot, so its only right to praise the lad, aswell has critise him. Roger Johnson also seems to have made a huge difference to the defence/team, and to Berra’s confidence too.So well played to all the lads.UTW:

Top of the Premier League, surely this is a double take? We are Wolves not Man United or the Wolves of the mid to late ’50s. Great result from the babbies, big Frank would have been so proud!
Would still like to see some defensive cover though before 2nd Sept. We have not used the loan market yet. Nedum Onuhoa would be great and would give us competition at left back AND centre half.
But lets just enjoy this after the agony of last season – top half here we come!

Solid performance all round. Wolves work rate was fantastic. If we keep playing with this amount of confidence/attitude the sky is the limit. Tonight I will dream of winning the league. Come the end of the season I would settle for a nice mid-table position. See you all at the QPR game. UTW

Absolutely Fantastic start to the new season. It’s obvious that there is new confidence running through the team after struggling for the previous seasons in the PL, the addition of Johnson, the permanent signing of O’Hara plus full pre-season training for last seasons signings and one or two players back from long -term injuries bodes well for the rest of the season. We now need ONE point a game for the last 36 games to secure safety with 42 points. However, NOW is the moment for Morgan, Moxley and M’Carthy to set their sights higher and push for a TOP TEN finish. We need to keep the momentum going by adding at least 2 or 3 more class players including Scott Dann who is a MUST, a left-back and a defensive midfielder. There are only 10 days to go before the close of the transfer window so lets get moving Mick.

Bus was late again out of Rio so couldn´t make the match. Hoped to watch it on ESPN but the muppets had West Ham and Leeds match on, I honestly think that ESPN has a down on the Wolves.
Well this result might make them sit up and take notice, Jez put their price up for the filming.
Having to pinch myself a bit but after watching Chelsea´s last match and just watched the Man City v Bolton game the lads have not got much to worry about because they are as good as any team in the Prem. Just got to sharpen up on the finishing, judging from the live commentary we should of had a bucketfull today.
Anyway well done to all keep the faith and my prediction of 50 points this season has got off to a good start.
Proud and exited.

Nice start well done and all the hard work that did not show last season is showing now. Its nice to see the knockers getting put down.
34 more points to go and then we can relax. We have to stay in this league for a couple more years and then we will see big changes happening in a rational and fiscal way.
Things just seem so good. Villa have made a big mistake with their managerial choices of late so I can only see them getting worse, Albion seem to be going down our road and doing well enough and the blues are out of it for a long while yet. Happy days!!!!

good job the kick off was delayed, as just about got in to the south bank in time for kick off,
everything fell into place, the weather, the team performance, we virtually strangled the life out of fulham, before the match all the villa fans at work gave wwfc no chance stating that fulham would be a different kettle of fish to blackburn.
okay they played in mid-week,and were tired but it was up to wolves to take advantage and they duly obliged.
hennesy made one save
ward made two goal line clearences and played out of his skin
stearman did’nt have much to do and looks liable to make mistakes
roger jhonson-awesome
berra looks increasingly like a better player alongside rj
henry actually made more forward passes than last season
jarvis-excellent
hunt-a pain in the ass for the opposition
o’hara, a couple of wayward passes but otherwise 9/10 performance
fletcher-excellent, continually beat their centre halfs to the ball
doyle-excellent and top draw goal.
have to slightly adjust our style of play for villa away, but am confident of coming back to molinuex with at least a point….

#10 good one…..bitter much??? The opposition are both established Prem sides and there are no easy games in this league. I could say you played an injury hit under strength under par and in transition Utd and a very much out of sorts Chelski (who still dominated) could be argued better to play big sides before they hit their stride. In any case a wins a win and loss is a loss. O think both teams look like being more than ok….but because of you and other muppets like Terry, JtH etc…who are obsessed with us and post more on our pages than their own I can’t help but hope you arrogant lot get spanked all over…..”we’re Prem class blah blah blah” lets see

I really wish the so called Happy Clappers will lay of the fans who pass on consrtuctive comments on how the team can improve.
Happy Clappers it is to sit back and hide the real fans are the one’s who stick their necks out for the sake of the teams improvement.
Never once have I said we are not good enough for this league,I have always insisted we “ARE” its just “MM” as not been able to give the players the confidence required at this level to go out and perform.
This as come from Hunt O’hara, these two are starting to forge a real partnership.
Players like Berra Stearmen I have always said they are better than they are showing.
R Johnson was the worst of the four defensive players, this decision is based on giving away the ball twice sloppily.
The performance was excellent some very nice football was played. We looked a team who can play not like the headless chickens we were last season.
Something somewhere as clicked because we are just more positive in our play,”mm” may have learn from last seasons over cautious approach.
Ward was excellent this boy deserves praise as I have regularly slated him last season, yes they were justified slatings, but he seems to have matured over night and gained confidence.
We play at this level week in week out we will win more than we lose.

Another valueable three points kept Wolves unbeaten and heading the Premier League table along with Man. City. The boys were magnificent today and have already kept their first cleen sheet. If only they make Molineux a fortress and win about two thirds of the points at stake plus the odd win or a draw away from home then they would be safe from relegation with planty of matches to go.
Remember QPR, Norwich and Swansea are not that well equipped to stay with the big boys so the chances are that if Wolves get about 12 or 14 points off them they will go a long way to stay up.
Today the defence was good although near the end we had a couple of anxious moments but on the other hand with more attention up front a couple more goals were on the cards.
Johnson was again in top form while Doyle, Hunt and Jarvis were great too. There were also Henry, Ward, Fletcher who did their job well while the rest gave their all too.
Keep it up Wolves and good luck for the rest of the season to at least keep the so-called critics and bookmakers mouths shut.

Fantastic start to the season. Chuffed for Mick and all the lads, and especially for Ward, Berra, and Henry who get so much stick on these boards. I know it is early days and I am not dreaming of a Champions League finish just yet, but if we play like this all season and don’t lose key players for extended periods, then we should believe in a top 10 finish. We all, especially the team, need to believe that is possible so that we don’t give too much respect to mid table teams. We controlled both games and that is how we need to continue. After the close shave last season, Out of Darkness Cometh Light!

It was good to see the hypocrites of Fulham given their due desserts.

I take my hat off to Tomwolf 22 for a fair comment. From a man who doesn’t think ‘yet’ that Stephen Ward is our left back answer. Have to agree Tomwolf, I’m far from convinced myself but if the lad can do the job beyond just ‘putting in a shift’ fair play to him also and there fore the manager who picked him. Woeful miss from Doyle for the one he should have scored but he confounds us all with the one he did get. Finally, nice one Tonto 30. Better than wasting words

Run by a fellow fan by the name of Stuart Earle. “I am the Earl” he told me over the telephone. “We meet at Putney Bridge tube station.” Have you another monicker now Stuart. Are you out there? A fitting send off for Frank Munro. Another good, solid, confident and dare i say comfortable 3 points. 2 wins against rival teams in this league, something we struggled to do last season.
The whole of the team played well, our customary 100% effort but with composed play and football that is more than pleasing on the eye.
Fletcher and Doyle led the line and were a constant threat. Jarvo and Hunty worked tirelessly and terrorised Fulham at times.
Ohara and Henry ran the show and dictated the play, often at a tempo that the cottagers couldn’t deal with. The back four marshalled by the skipper Johnson were solid, organised and rarely outdone. An assured display by Hennessey, although very rarely troubled.
The most pleasing aspect for me was how we never looked like losing, and when we were 2 goals to the good we never looked like letting the opposition get back in the game.
The Fulham team (a good outfit) knew it too and resigned themselves to a defeat long before the final whistle. They simply had no answer to the Wolves.
My feet will remain firmly planted on the ground, its 2 wins, 6 points and good performances…….36 games to go!
PS How are the bitter baggies these days?, …not seen em for a while ;-)

A great day and a great start to the campaign.
Doyle and Jarvis on the score sheet was a sight for sore eyes.
It looks like the squad is up for a 4-4-2 which might need adjusting from time to time, but overall promises more than the defensive line up of last year.
As MM says, not a tine to get carried away, but I have a damned good feeling all the same! My bet was for 1-0 but I didn’t mind losing one little bit! :))

Great result, stunning performance!!!!
But the most impessive thing for me is that we only took 1 point from these 2 teams last season & McCarthy reckons that point was the only one we ‘pinched’ all season.
IMO that bodes well for the rest of the season, as well as an early clean sheet, Johnson really has made a difference, Berra looks a yard quicker.
Yesterday was always going to be a tougher test than Blackburn, due to their better quality attacking players Johnson, Duff, Demspey & Kasami but I thought we looked after them well.
On to Villa, bring it on!!!!

I am proud to hear the Molineux singing. It used to be the “Molineux roar”. Now it is the “Molineux song”. Happy supporters’ voices like no other teams can boast.
I wonder if anyone can see parallels between what is happening now and an earlier point in the history of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Well, the facts are these. We’ve got 8 or 9 players playing at the very top of their game with confidence, and Ward all of a sudden looks like a genuine option in a problem position. Our wingers are running the opposition ragged and we seem to have found the right midfield balance to plat 4-4-2. We look like getting goals from 5 possible outlets, and Johnson has firmed up the back to a spectacular extent.
Yes, we get one injury in the wrong position and things could be overturned in an instant – but I still say that after Saturday lunchtime, we’ll be three wins from three.

I am a very happy Wolves fan, and it is great to see such positivity on this site.
Wolves are playing very well at the moment, we are building a new stadium and the club is very well run by MMM.
But, we will have a bad patch at some point and we will get injuries. We need some strength in depth particularly at the back and central midfield.
Imagine if we have a mini injury crisis, and lose 4 or 5 players? No Johnson, no O’Hara, no Jarvis, no Fletcher, no Henry?
I love the fact that we have spent years building a team, team spirit and investing in a few players of good quality. This is truely the team that Mick built. The extra confidence the team has got from having 2 strikers who are both scoring, the big man at the back, and the wee man with his magic left foot in central midfiled, is noticable.
There will be bad times and poor results this year. We will have our moments, but in Mick we have to trust. Consistency over 5 years now has us in a position where we are all very excited for this season.
Keep the faith.

Was overjoyed with yesterdays result & hope Wolves can keep up the momentum.Great to see how O’Hara, Hunt & Johnson have jelled & to see Henry, at last playing some decent football, now the pressurer of the captain’s armband as been relieved from him.Nice to see the crowd getting Stephen Ward, who for me as been one of the most improved players in the side & a great utility player to boot. Berra’s game as been lifted with the addition of Johnson.
However, the thing that I find slightly worrying, is the fact Doyle is on Liverpool’s radar & Arsenal sniffing around Jarvo, now that Fabregas as gone “home” & Nasri might be on his way to Man City.

We have played the same teams as the Villa. We have 6 points and they ony four. We should be able to be them on Saturday. 2-0

wanderer in eire – Im sure most the so called happy clappers are refering to the muppets that week in week out, call for Mick to be sacked, or claim some of our players arent even good enough for the championship and should just be given away. That isnt constructive criticism, its just plain old negativity, If you look at the word Negativity in a thesaurus, you may well find the word, defeatism. Your criticising the happy clappers, but whats wrong in looking for the positives, I guarentee they probably enjoy supporting this great club more than all the moaners do.
As for the match, once again, we played fantastic, and considering apparently weve only changed 1 player in the team, we look considerably better. As for Ward, myself and im sure all the happy clapper will admit hes not the best left back in the league, but theres no denying that he has been instrumental in gaining us 6 points out of 6. Not bad for a player that isnt even good enough for the championship if you ask me.

Great Start for Wolves and it adds momentum for the first quarter of their Season…..Albion have suufered from an unkind fixture list but I’m pretty sure we’ll soon start accumulating the points…..|Roy has got something special building at the Hawthorns and with Wolves getting their act together it augers well for the Black Country over the next few years….so enjoy…

What was pleasing is that last season ,Wolves would probably have lost the match. There is a long way to go as at times, Wolves looked vunerable and to be honest, Fulham were a poor side.
The number of times that Henessey was called upon indicates Fulham’s quality but it did show that Wolves can win matches which they would have lost last season and that will give them confidence. There is a definite spring the their step and the next match will be another chance to boost thir moral.
Every player must ask themselves, “do I use the ball to the best advantage when I have got it,” and, ” when I have not got the ball I must look for it or take up a position which helps my team.”

Okay, my fellow Wolves in arms, Cumbrian Wolf, maybe I rushed to judgement on “smiley faced” #13 Mairhofer’s Men. If that is so, I apologize. I just get over-conditioned to so much of the criticism that comes Ward’s way, at to Mck and others, too. Hope we all pull together more this season. Players DO read these. And, Mairhofer’s Men, you really had me and others going, wink-wink! UTMW!

10) Yes it is early days but last year in the corresponding fixtures we got a single point and now we have 6 points. Whilst I appreciate that you have played Man Utd and an ageing Chelsea side, we managed to get 3 points out of those same fixtures last season. Once again, your defence needs to improve. Our first goal is survival but you cannot come on here and say 100% that Wolves will not finish top half? Two signings would go a long way towards it though.
Now jog on Steptoe!

Uh-oh, getting a bit testy, are we, Mairhofer’s Men? Again, sorry “DUDE,” if just for a moment you can step away from your over-zealous pride. I tried to apologize, but obviously that’s not good enough. :o)!!!!!

Is this lying about the opposition playing dirty just a London trick (Fulham, Arsenal), or do other teams indulge in these lies as well?

so bob wolf appears on another thread, and astonishingly claims missing an open goal does not constitute a great performance by doyle….
ah well at least bob was trying to be positive..lol
doyle linked with, arsenal,liverpool,juve…
creates a chance by leaving fulhams number one centre half chasing shadows and should have scored or passed but was tiring and off balance and blazed over… no bob what makes doyles performance great was the way he and fletcher ran senderos and co ragged and the way he took the that goal in to the top corner when all eleven fulham players were in the 18 yard box…. utw

kenny hibbitt scorcher 78 – You forgot to mention the way in which he held the ball up better than anyone else on the pitch, allowing us to ease pressure on our defence, which may well have been a factor in why Fulham didnt create many chances. He also ran the chanels superbly well creating room for others, as well as earning us some decent freekick opportunuties.
I suppose if Bobwolf wants to focus on the only negative of doyles game for the entire match, and forget the fact that he was easily one of the best players on the pitch, its up to him, He clearly isnt going to change his negative stance on anything Wolves, Its not like Aguero missed countless easy opportunities yesterday aswell, (chances that he hadnt run himself into the ground to earn, and he wasnt off balance to miss) but still got declared as one of the best players on the pitch.

Good win Wolves.
Guess it will be short lived but what the heck!
Everything looking Rosy except Kevin Dolye going to Liverpool or Arsenal.
He is like all other mercenaries including Robbie Keane and Julian Lescott.
Why do they not return?
And the reason is £ notes, until they want a last payday from former employers.
Lets be realistic and predict 6th Place finish, (big deal with Blackburn Wigan and the 3 promoted).

Best signing we could make, would be to get Kevin Doyle to sign a contract extension.

If Doyle left here it would be a shame.he would be in the wilderness, look at his pictures hes but a mere lad, IMO keep him here
Report abuse
Unless Doyle wants a move then the Club should lock him down. here we are at a point where we could be finally going places and the last thing we should do is release our better players.
MM needs to stick with two forwards and continue to play off the front foot instead of retreating into the miserable 4-5-1 formation. We look like we are capable of playing proper football under the present system and with our wide players doing well it is creating more goalscoring opportunities.
Johnson made a couple of poor passes yesterday but his overall game has taken our defense to a new level with more communication and more constructive use of the ball out of the back. I would also argue that Hennessey is fast becoming an excellent goalkeeper. He had a quiet day yesterday but he did his job and can only get better.
We need to push on and have players wanting to knock our doors down to join the Club!!! Screw everyone else!!!
Come on you Wolves!!!

I was always taught never to kick a man when he is down…..so will keep this weeks report brief.
A decent performance by the Town, but yet again..for the 2nd week running, they will never have a better chance to glean 3 points from a top six team.
Chelsea were poor, very poor in the 1st half and were only marginally better in the 2nd (after the new managers choice words in the break i imagine)
But yet again Town didn’t have the ability to take advantage and atleast get the points tally off the zero mark.
Reasons to be cheerfull…Brunt gave his usual 110% effort again, and playing again to their maximum ability they will surely get 3 points in the next game. Wont they….?

Good start and I will be happy with a point on Saturday. We must not lose to the Vile but with 6 points in the bag, the pressure is off slightly!
I would like to see us have a Cup run but we will have to play the bench warmers tomorrow – which still will be a strong side :-

Another great win from a side that looks settled. It looks like either Liverpool or Arsenal are going to test our resolve at keeping Doyle. My fear is the money may be too much temptation for Moxey too resist which would be an absolute disaster. You can forget SEB stepping up to the plate we already have a goal machine in Fletcher what we need is someone who can hold the ball up field like Doyle he would be very difficult to replace.

An excellant display, with not a poor, even mediocre, performance from anybody. There was some criticism when MM signed an injured Stephen Hunt. They’re not moaning now.
A few of the negative gang have at least had the bottle to sign in on this thread, but, Wanderer in Eire, FGS stop digging.

Farmer Ted – Whats the betting that mr 1% will turn up when we lose a game, or when theres something else to moan about. I personally dont mind people having the occasional moan, but I think its only fair that the same people also give credit where its due which most dont.
Theres always an excuse with the moaners, Last week it was Blackburn were poor and Fulham would give us a real test, this week its Fulham were poor. I think the negativity is a defence mechanism, so that if things do eventually go bad, the moaners can say i told you so, and still get some gratification out of it. Happy clappers on the other hand would be completely distraught if things went wrong, and have no safety blanket to soften the blow, but at least they can actually enjoy the experience, after all, whats not to love about winning 2 consecutive matches, while playing excellent football, and being near the top of the table. Its not going to last, so lets make the most of it.

Every player showed us what they’re all about.
Fabulous day at the Mol. My girlfriend our lucky mascot again…she’s only seen wins – and always we’ve scored more than one goal. Just figured out why there’s so many negatives…it’s from the “supporters” who listen to the game on Beacon radio instead of actually going to the match. I’ve never heard such dull reporters on a game.
It’s bad enough that Sky and MOTD concentrate on “bigger” teams playing crap and give us a couple of minutes without any real analysis. Wake up! You’re missing the real entertaining team.

Fan-bloody-tastic, me babbies! 6 points out of six, a clean sheet, another 2 goals -and it could’ve been 5- and the new North Bank rising from the ashes. It’s not time to get carried away, though it’s not time to undervalue the start we’ve made, either.
So, maybe we aint played any top sides yet, but you can only beat what’s put in front of you -and we did precisely that.
Congrats to all the lads on a job well done.
