Wolves face wait on Jamie O’Hara
Friday 12th August 2011, 9:00AM BST.
Wolves face an anxious wait over Jamie O’Hara for the Premier League opener at Blackburn after the midfielder picked up a knee injury.
The £3.5million summer signing came off just before the end of yesterday’s training session with a knee injury.
O’Hara received treatment and was hoping to train today but has to be a doubt.
New goalkeeper Dorus De Vries is also a slight concern with a hand injury sustained yesterday, at a time when free agent Marcus Hahnemann has returned to the club to train.

Chance for Milijas to get a game by default. Twice the player o’hara ever will be. Nenad needs to move on to a club who want footballers, not just people to “put a shift in”. I am happy to be a numptie if that means i am not an arrogant rude moron.

shock horror! footballer gets injured!!!!!!

Hang On Milijas twice the player of O’Hara yeah Dingle, Nice one son.
Milijas is the most overrated player at the club and the one player Beacon Radio Barmy Army stick to like glue.
I have to agree about Milijas, Hes by far the best player we have had in a few years, no idea how he doesnt play that much. he picks out passes better than o’hara and as a better shot too.
In a realistic world, both of them should play with Henry sold to some league 2 team for £25. Never going to happen though!

Read it again:
“O’Hara received treatment and was hoping to train today but has to be a doubt.”
Has to be a doubt – As usual pure guess work from the E&S.
Am I to be censored again Editor?

Laugh or cry moment!
Why does this seem to happen to us time n time again?
So johnson apart, probably the same team as the beginning of last year then!
Hmmmmm dont think i can stand to watch that again!
Anyways bring on tomorrow, after all the BEER cant get injured can it ;-)

2- Are those mutually exclusive groups then?

Hahah that’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in years… Milijas twice the player! Not bad for a baggie that one.
He needs to cut down to 30 a day and then we might see him last 60 minutes without looking like he’s going to have a heart attack!
Why does he have to be a doubt?????????? It could be precautinary? Speculation……….

I am partial to a spot of port now and again, the last time I was in a taxi it cost £7. To be fair I find the whole affair confusing, just like Clock work MM picks up a Chinese on Sunday evening and heads of the Shires. Clearly the man has realised we are going to stay up this season due to default….that being Blackburn have weakened since Jones has gone to Man U and so have Wigan with Nzogbia leaving. Bring on the campaign, no doubt stay up by default on 41 points not having had to improve the team.
11 please can you stop saying default its very annoying
WE ARE WOLVES
Report abuse
What’s all this Milijas vs O’Hara debate? They are both Wolves players and they are both quality! Milijas has the delivery from dead-ball situations and the ability to pick out a pass. Last season saw him “put in a shift” as well. Our record against Blackburn is poor. Maybe it will be a Milijas free-kick ora defence-splitting pass that will make the difference. Give him some support. In fact, support anyone who pulls on the gold & black.
UTW!

Default is when you gain something by someone else’s punishment. Like getting a gold medal because someone who finished in front of you failed a drugs test.
We played 38 games and finished with more points than 3 other teams which means we didn’t go down and they did. We achieved that in our own right no default about it.
Default would be regarding West Ham last season who finished 4th from bottom when Portsmouth were docked points. However as it happened Portsmouth wouldn’t have survived anyway so not even that can be called default.
Have to agree with Jim & rich5wolves – to say he “has to be a doubt” is pure speculation. As has been too common this summer, E&S more concerned with creating news than simply reporting it.

Give him some Lidle beer to kill the pain thats what baggy players have.

milijas and o’hara are both great in their own ways and i think they should play together week in week out with guedioura coming on for milijas as he(milijas) hardly lasts the full 90. forever we are wolves!

Yet more injuries sustained in training. Still think we need a left back and another central defender. More or less the same as last year then, Johnson will need to be superhuman to improve things at the back. Ah well MM knows best so they would have us believe. Very concerned still.
millijas or ohara who cares ,shouldnt we be bringing henry into the question
Report abuse
@2,5 are you serious millias better than o’hara n he can pick a pass n shoot better than him just 2 more idiots bet they wasn’t sayin that when scored that wonder goal against WBA n one of the goals that saved us from the drop so why don’t you do us all a favour n jog on down the road tescos could do with some more fans
Bring on tomorrow carnt wait

14 JJ – Manchester United won the league by default last season didnt they? After all there were 19 worst teams than them.
I agree with you completely apart from the portsomouth comment. I think even if portsmouth would have had enough points for survival, its still not enough for West hams survival to be declared as default. Afterall, it was portsmouth that got themselves into that predicament through poor financial management. Its exactly the same as saying we survived by default because of another teams bad tactics.
At the end of the day, were all given the opportunity of playing 38 games, Each club can choose who they buy and how much they spend, it is nobody elses fault how each team decide to go about their business. If we were relegated, I doubt any of these idiots would be saying we were relegated by default would they. Its just another opportunity for people to have a moan or a dig, instead of embracing the fact we have another season of prem football, we have strengthened the team, and we could genuinely have a very bright future ahead of us.

O`hara is injury prone so no surprise here. Milijas on his day is a very good player but not better than o`hara, on par with though, maybe.
Robbie kean on loan, Ridgwell signed, Hargreaves pay as you play and then we settle down for the battle ahead.
As it stands we have not done great business this window. Johnson I like but him alone is not good business. Theyve bought 6 in down the road, 3 of whom I`d have any day. Like it or not thats good business especially when theyve said theres a defender to come too.
why is it we are the only team that appears to
be not looking to get any one in. what wrong with ridgwell can play left back and left side
at center, where most of our problems are,ward/
elokobi/berra,he is better than all 3 of them.
i am not prepared to put up with another season in bottom4, got to move on
and upward.

frobowolf – You would seriously have 3 of them? Im guessing the first 1 is Foster, and i agree with you, he would be a good signing, although i think Henners could be better than him, at the moment, Foster is more the complete package.
Im guessing the second 1 is Long, and he wouldnt be a bad signing as a squad player, but is he any better than Blake? Given the fact that Blake has managed to score more than him the championship in the 2 consecutive championship seasons he played for us, I would say no. He would definately not get ahead of Doyle and the 5th most prolific goal scorer in europe based on goals per minute though.
Im guessing the 3rd player is Gera, and theres no way i would swap him for any of our current wingers. He is past it, and is a decent squad player for them at best. Theres not a chance he would get ahead of Hunt or Jarvis into our team. When Hammil is playing well, he wouldnt get past him either. As for Kites, I cant really comment as he is yet to prove himself, but I know that Kites still has many a year ahead of him, I cant say the same about Gera.

It’s a good job that even fickle thoroughbred racehorses don’t go crock as often as footballers do these days under their (unwise?) intensive training routines – if they did the vet with his ‘mercy killer’ would be at the stables every day!
Whatever, it’s good to feel the thrill of the start of another season; one in which hope may exceed eventual reality but could be a good one anyway. C’mon, the old gold and black!!
Any bets on 1-2 today? I’ll be in one of Mr Hills emporiums later on and that’s to be my bet.If it comes off I’ll donate the winnings to a fund for a left back …. :)

This is hardly surprising news! I see some pundits STILL have us amongst the favourites to go down and we say we’re not going to bring in any more players! How naive can you get? We need another three players to be safe, a defensive midfielder, another centre half and a left back.

24. Yes Long is way better than Ebanks Blake and I`m a big fan of Sylvan.
But having lived and worked in Reading since 2007 I have seen Long develop. I really wanted us to sign him to partner Doyle. He is quick, I mean really quick. He`s great in the air, did you see his performance against Craotia on wed night, he wins everything in the air and is only 5`11″, he got man of the match against croatia because he was a constant thorn in their side. He`s also become very strong and as such is now more than ready for the prem which is why, although gutted, Reading have not stood in his way. Here`s hoping they sell Odemwingie because with those 2 and cox and tchoyi as back up they`ll have a very potent strikeforce.
I agree Foster is a good signing and I agree Gera is squad player for them as they have a very strong midfield already.
