Carl Ikeme keen on Wolves stay
Saturday 30th July 2011, 10:28AM BST.
Keeper Carl Ikeme today declared it is still his dream to play for Wolves in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old, who is into the last year on his contract, made his debut for Championship side Middlesbrough last night in a 4-2 friendly defeat to Dutch giants PSV.
Ikeme is at Boro with a view to a long-term loan, providing Wayne Hennessey and Dorus De Vries emerge unscathed from today’s friendly at Ipswich.
But despite embarking on what will be his seventh different club on loan, the Brummie shot-stopper’s heart remains at Molineux.
“It’s my desire to play for Wolves in the Premier League some day,” said Ikeme.
“I’ve been training and playing with people who have played in the Premier League.
“Matt Murray has trained and played with some of the same players and he says I can play at that level, so why not?”
