The removal of the Stan Cullis stand provides a perfect bird’s eye view on to the famous Molineux turf, emerald green after being relaid for the new season.

As the first gold seats start going up to form the new-look North Bank, a bigger and better stadium is preparing to emerge.

Around a third of the terracing has been installed on the lower-tier of the two-tier, 7,700 seater first phase of Wolves owner Steve Morgan’s £40million masterplan for Molineux.

The replacement of the Stan Cullis stand is the £16million first phase to redevelop at least three sides of the historic football ground.

The stand will be finished in July next year boosting capacity from 29,408 to 31,700.

The £24million development of the Steve Bull and Jack Harris stands, increasing capacity to around 37,000, could follow with work on the Steve Bull starting as soon as next summer.

A further redevelopment of the Billy Wright Stand could follow – creating a stadium with a capacity of 50,000.
