Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has revealed star striker Kevin Doyle ‘loves it’ at Molineux as he responded to speculation of an impending bid from Arsenal.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has revealed star striker Kevin Doyle ‘loves it’ at Molineux as he responded to speculation of an impending bid from Arsenal.

Doyle is reportedly to be the subject of a £12million offer from the Gunners, but Wolves have heard nothing from the Emirates Stadium.

The Republic of Ireland international has an admirer in Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and Wolves know they can’t compete with Champions League riches if a suitable offer came in.

But Doyle, who cost £6.5million and is halfway through a four-year contract, remains happy at Molineux.

McCarthy said: “I can’t tell you anything except what was in the papers and I’m not going to comment on some speculative story. What I can tell you is that Doyle loves it here.

“He enjoys coming here to work every morning, and we love him here and we enjoy him coming to work here every morning.

“That goes for everyone else as well and that will remain the same until anything different happens.”
