Wolves release new kit for season

Wolves fans got their hands on next season’s Premier League kit today – after the original launch was postponed.

A handful of supporters, who had queued for the release on Saturday, were waiting when the club’s Wolverhampton store in Dudley Street opened promptly at 8am.

A steady stream flocked through the doors, handing over hundreds of pounds in the first hour of trading.

The name on everyone’s lips was £5million signing Jamie O’Hara, who put pen to paper on a five-year contract worth £9million yesterday.

Season ticket holder John Greenfield, 22, who has been an ever-present in the Jack Harris Stand for 16 seasons, was delighted with the deal and proudly had O’Hara’s name printed on the back of his new shirt.

The parcel sorter, of Sudeley Gardens, Gornal, said: “O’Hara’s a brilliant player, he gives us that bit of quality in midfield.”

The father-of-one was also picking up a shirt for his daughter Amy, aged two.

He said: “It’s cost me about £100 but it’s worth it.”

Scott Edwards, 18, paid £62 for his shirt and printing costs, including the Premier League badges.

The former Halesowen College student, of Brough Close, Wolverhampton, said: “I was a bit disappointed on Saturday but at least the shirts are right now.

“I have had the badges done for the last three years. I’m really looking forward to the season.”
