Adlene Guedioura is to make his long-awaited comeback for Wolves – and could make an imminent return to first-team contention.

The Algeria World Cup star is in the starting line-up for tonight’s reserve trip to Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, after recovering from a broken leg sustained in the 2-1 defeat to Villa on September 26.

Both midfielder Guedioura and winger Stephen Hunt, who has recovered from a calf injury picked up on January 30, are fully fit but only the former is set to be included tonight’s line-up.

But although Hunt is being held back from reserve duty, manager Mick McCarthy believes both will be knocking on the first-team door very shortly.

He said: “They’re both fit and Adlene’s playing tonight, but I don’t think Hunt will play. Adlene will have his game tonight and then he’ll be ready for us, I’m sure.

“Hunt probably won’t play tonight, although not for any reason because he’s fine – he’s as fit as a flea and there’s no reason to worry about him.

“Adlene has been the perfect patient and has done everything that’s been asked of him. He looks great in training.

“I don’t think he’ll need many games to be back in contention – he’s another one who’s as fit as a flea.”
