Wolves owner hails Jarvis’ call-up

Wolves owner Steve Morgan has declared Matt Jarvis’ international call-up is “just what England needs.”
Jarvis is hoping to win his first cap in either Saturday’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales or the friendly with Ghana next Tuesday after being called up for the first time.
The chairman shared in all the pride from the Wolves camp and believes the winger’s call can push the door open for other Molineux stars at England level.
Morgan, who texted the player with his congratulations, said: “I think he’s what England needs.
“He’s done a great job for Wolves this season. I hope he gets on the pitch against Wales, or if not then against Ghana on Tuesday. It’s a great honour for the club as well.
“I’d also like to think there are two or three other players in the squad who might get England caps in the next few years.
“I’m not going to name names but there are a few who have put in some great performances this season.
“We’ve got Scottish and Irish internationals but there’s something quite special about having an English international.”
Morgan insisted Wolves won’t go down and believes the team are as good as any in the bottom half of the table.
He said: “The guys are playing really well now and I feel really confident we won’t be where we are now at the end of the season.
“I’m delighted with the way everything is coming together. The spirit is good and I think we’re playing as well if not better than anybody else in the bottom half of the league.
“But we’ve just to keep it going because there are eight more cup finals to go. It’s unbelievable how tight it is down there. We know 40 points probably isn’t going to do it this year.
“There’s no saying what will do it this year.”
