Jamie O’Hara sets a 43 point target

Wolves midfielder Jamie O’Hara has set a fresh Premier League target of 43 points to avoid the drop.
O’Hara and his team-mates believe Wolves need another 11 points from their last eight games after beating Villa 1-0 on Saturday.
Mick McCarthy’s improving side have already banked eight points from their last four games – their longest unbeaten run this season – and 11 from six.
Yet, even with four points more than last season when they were 16th at this stage, they still haven’t escaped the drop zone after their first win over Villa in 31 years lifted them to third bottom.
A difference of just two goals is keeping them in the bottom three below West Ham. Wolves closed the gap on 14th-placed Villa to just a point, and just three separate the bottom eight teams in the most competitive bottom half of the Premier League ever.
O’Hara said: “The league is crazy but our target for the season, having spoken to the boys, is 43 points, with one game left to play against Blackburn.
“We’ve got a lot of work still to do, but we want to be safe by the last game of the season. That’s our aim.
“We had a great result on Saturday but, with eight games to play, we still need to push on.”
The 24-year-old believes Wolves will flourish next season if they stay up.
He said: “We’re building a side here and I think we have a good chance of staying up.”
But on-loan Tottenham midfielder O’Hara warned Wolves of the need to keep their foot to the floor in their pursuit of safety as ‘one bad result’ could put them in graver trouble.
He said: “We’re still down there fighting and one bad result will put us back in it.”
