Jamie O’Hara: Wolves have survival blueprint
Monday 28th February 2011, 1:52PM GMT.
Loan star Jamie O’Hara today hailed Wolves’ record-breaking win over Blackpool as the blueprint for Premier League survival.
Mick McCarthy’s men claimed Wolves’ record Premier League victory — a 4-0 success — to climb out of the relegation zone with O’Hara bagging the second goal.
And the on-loan Tottenham midfielder reckons Wolves must emulate Saturday’s positive approach for the remainder of the season with fellow strugglers Fulham, Albion and Blackburn all still to visit Molineux.
“That is the way forward,” said O’Hara. “We wanted to get at Blackpool as quickly as possible and we wanted to go forward at every possible chance.
“I have been taught to play forward whenever I get the ball and if we can keep looking forward and pressing teams back and getting them playing in their half instead of our half it is going to work for us.
“I haven’t really seen the other games that we played against the lower clubs in the league because I haven’t been here.
“But I think we’ve got a better squad than the other teams down there so we’ve got to be winning these games.
“We need to be confident. Hopefully I can keep putting in performances and showing the lads that we are better than these teams and we should be beating them.”
O’Hara struck his second goal in as many games on Saturday following his spectacular strike at Albion and he is keen to maintain his scoring run.
But he now faces a three-week break with Premier League rules preventing him facing ‘parent club’ Spurs at Molineux on Saturday.
“I haven’t played for six months but at Portsmouth I got among the goals and I thought I should have got more last season, so hopefully I can keep making up for lost time,” he said.
“It’s disappointing for me that I can’t play next week against Spurs and then we haven’t really got a game until the end of next month.
“It will be difficult not to play for a few weeks but hopefully I have left off a good streak and I can just keep adding to that.”

What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
