Michael Kightly to rejoin full training

Michael Kightly has handed Wolves a huge boost with the news he will rejoin full training next Monday.
The 25-year-old winger has been promised a part in Wolves’ survival run-in by manager Mick McCarthy if he proves his fitness in the next few weeks.
Kightly will require permission from the Premier League to be added to Wolves’ current 23-man squad.
But the former England under-21 international is finally ready to compete for a first-team place, after emerging unscathed from what has amounted to a full pre-season since undergoing operations on both knees in Sweden before Christmas.
The surgery finally rid Kightly of the inflammation in his patella tendons, which had taken him on a long and painful journey to the United States and Spain for treatment since he last played in November 2009.
But McCarthy is delighted with his progress.
He said: “Kightly is really flying. He will be back with us on Monday to train for definite, but he will maybe have a light session on Saturday first.”
The Wolves boss again reiterated Kightly may go out on loan, a deal Hull and a host of Championship clubs have shown an interest in.
McCarthy said: “If he has to go out for a month’s football so he can then maybe come back for the last six, seven eight matches for us, then so be it.
“It depends how he gets on. He might have a couple of reserve games and stay here and he might end up on the bench, I don’t know.
“There are quite a few players he’s not played with here, but if he can come back to play for us, it will be terrific and a massive boost for him.”
Another winger, Stephen Hunt, has been ruled out of Saturday’s clash against Blackpool with his calf injury.
McCarthy said: “Saturday will still be too early – he needs more training first.”

What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
