Sam Vokes joins Sheffield United

Young Wolves striker Sam Vokes has joined Championship club Sheffield United on a one-month emergency loan deal.

The Wales international will be at Bramall Lane until March 19 after joining the Blades today and could go straight into the squad for tonight’s home game with Reading.

Vokes has only made made two appearances for Wolves this season, both in the FA Cup, and spent the first-half of this season on loan in the Championship at Bristol City, but tore his hamstring on his debut in August and re-aggravated the injury in a reserve match in December.

The 21-year-old returned to Molineux last month and will now join former Wolves team-mates Marcus Bent and Neill Collins at United.
