Wolves’ new boy Leigh Griffiths aims to impress

Wolves’ new boy Leigh Griffiths today set his sights on emulating Albion playmaker Graham Dorrans in making the switch from Scotland to the Premier League – and ‘beefing up’.
The 20-year-old striker has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract and completes his £150,000 move from Dundee today.
A two-match ban for bookings from his time at Dens Park prevents Griffiths from playing until the Manchester United game a week on Saturday.
One-time Baggies trialist Griffiths played at Livingston with Dorrans, who moved to The Hawthorns for a similar fee in July 2008. “A few boys I played with at Livingston have done well in the Premier League such as Graham Dorrans,” said Griffiths. “Hopefully I can emulate him. I played with Graham a few times at Livingston.
“I came into the first team at 16 and Graham was already in the team but I broke through and played with him a few times.
“He then got his move to West Brom and has been absolutely magnificent, so if I can emulate anything like that I’ll be delighted.”
Slightly-built Griffiths knows he has a lot to do to make the grade. Wolves have put the striker on a programme to build him up and he said: “I’ve got to bulk myself up and work hard on the training field.”
